I must've decided that I wanted to snuggle him anyways because when I woke in the morning, I was at the end of the bed with him, with my pillow laying on Jared's feet, my hand wrapped around his leg and my legs draped over Sam's legs.

I don't think I'd ever been more comfortable, even in the awkward position I'd ended up in. I had all of my imprints in one place and I was touching all of them.

We ended up in a different position every night for a week, but it somehow always worked. Sometimes even Jared ended up at the bottom of the bed and none of us knew how.

I still hadn't been intimate with Paul, but they'd been so busy with tracking Riley that we really hadn't had the chance to. Or at least that was what I was telling myself.

Before we could have our pack bonfire with Angela that next Friday, something terrible happened. Thursday night we were all woken to the sound of a pained howl.

"Who is it, Sam?" I asked, sleepily as I rubbed my eyes and looked at the clock.

3am.

"Seth." He replied, knowing each of their howls individually. He took off out the door immediately.

Seth wasn't on patrol, especially not at 3am on a school night. My mind went immediately to something I'd prayed so much wouldn't happen.

"Jare, can you go phase and see what it is and tell me?" I asked him, praying it wasn't what I thought it was. He nodded and walked out the door, leaving me with Paul.

He came back in a few minutes later shaking his head in sadness. "Harry had a massive heart-attack, Bella. He didn't make it."

I cried into Paul's shoulder uncontrollably. This was one of Charlie's best friends, the father of one of our pack, Sue's husband. An elder of the tribe.

I'd experienced his death once before, but I didn't have the chance to mourn him because I'd been an idiot and jetted off to Italy, terrifying my father while he'd been dealing with one of his best friend's deaths.

"We have to tell Charlie. Paul, can you—" I mumbled, hardly able to get the words out.

"On it, B." Paul told me as he got up out of the bed, handing me over to Jared.

"Jared we have to help Seth and Sue…" I muttered into him as he held me tightly.

"Sam is over there now, Bella. There isn't anything you can do at 3am." He told me as he soothed my back.

"There has to be something…" I cried.

"We'll go over there when it gets light out and see what we can do." He whispered to me.

Paul had told Charlie, who drove to the Clearwater's immediately despite the hour. Sam had stayed there to help with the details that I was sure Sue would be too upset about to deal with, as well as keeping an eye on Seth.

I couldn't sleep at all, so at 4am I ended up baking a breakfast casserole so that I could bring it over when it got light out.

Jared and Paul both offered to help me, but I'd insisted on doing it myself.

At 6am, we all went over to the Clearwater's house to see what we could help with. I brought my casserole and Sam opened the door for us, knowing we were there already.

I nearly fell into his arms as he pulled me close and ran his fingers through my hair, knowing exactly what I needed. A few minutes later I peeled myself off of him to go find everyone else.

Sue was sitting at the table with tissues in her hand as Charlie talked to her about what needed to happen next. I could see the tiredness in both of their eyes as they looked up at me when I entered the kitchen.

"Bells?" Charlie asked as if not fully believing I was there.

"I wanted to bring this over and see what we could do to help." I told them as I sat the casserole on the table.

Sue got up out of her seat and walked over to me to hug me tightly as I felt more tears coming from my eyes.

"Thank you, Bella." She whispered brokenly.

"I'm so sorry for your loss, Sue. Please tell me what we can do." I muttered to her as she pulled away.

"I called Leah. She's on her way home. Would it be too much trouble for one of the boys to go pick her up from the airport in Seattle? I don't her to drive a rental car in the state she's in." She asked sadly.

"Embry was going to be on his way up to Port Angeles today with my car. I'll have him drive to Seattle and bring her home." Jared told her. I worried about the 17 year old driving the 4 hours to Seattle, but I knew he was responsible enough, and had wolf instincts as well.

Jared walked outside to call Embry and Sue turned back to me. "Seth is taking this really hard, Bella. Sam said it probably wasn't a good idea to let him run, so can you see if you can distract him while Charlie and I work out some of the details? If you think it's safe enough."

"Of course, Sue." I told her.

"I'll be with her the whole time, just in case he gets too upset." Paul said to her, reassuring her that it would be okay.

Charlie walked over and I hugged him, knowing it would be hard on him.

"Thanks for doing this, Bells, and thanks for sending Paul with the news." Charlie told me. "Now be careful around Seth. I don't want him to accidentally hurt you."

"I won't let anything happen to her, Charlie." Paul told him as he shook his hand.

Paul had his hand resting on my back as we made our way up to Seth's room and he knocked on the door, standing in front of me protectively.

Seth opened the door with bloodshot eyes. When he saw me, he nearly launched himself into my arms, tears leaking down his cheeks.

Paul recognized that there wasn't a threat of him phasing at the present moment and didn't try to pry the 15-year-old off of me.

"I'm so sorry, Seth." I told him as he cried into my shoulder.

We stood there like that for a few minutes before he pulled back.

"I'm sorry, Bella, I didn't mean to soak your shirt." Seth said, wiping at his eyes.

"Honey, that's the least of my worries right now. Why don't we go for a walk?" I said to him gently.

He nodded and followed us outside into the woods.

"Sam doesn't want me to phase right now." He said quietly as we walked through the woods.

"Wouldn't be a good idea, pup. You might not be able to phase back if you're too upset and you don't want to miss anything." Paul told him honestly and Seth understood what he meant.

"I just can't believe he's gone. It was so sudden… he was smiling and watching the game last night like everything was normal. I just don't understand." He told us as we walked toward the beach.

"No one knows why things happen like they do, Seth." I said to him sadly. "Sometimes things like this happen in a split second. You just have to cherish the time you had with him."

"The last thing he said to me last night was that he loved me. He usually never said that before bed, and I can't help but wonder if he somehow knew…" He muttered, tearing up again.

"We'll never know, Seth, but at least you have that memory." I whispered to him as we finally made it to the beach.

He didn't say very much more as we walked along the shore, though he occasionally stopped to skip rocks.

I worried about Leah and what would happen with her coming back. I also worried about Emily Young, who I knew would be attending the funeral because she was Leah's cousin on Harry's side.

Paul had his arm wrapped around my waist while we walked down the beach with Seth, and it was the most comforting gesture he could have done during such a terrible time.

"Do you believe in destiny, Bella?" Seth asked me on the way back to the house.

"I do, Seth. You know about my other timeline and what happened in it. I fully believe that the reason I'm here now is because it was my true destiny." I explained to him.

"Did my dad die of a heart attack in the other timeline, too?" He asked very quietly, looking down at the ground. I stopped walking and turned to face him.

"Yes, Seth, he did. I had hoped that it wouldn't happen in this timeline because it had been Victoria who'd caused the heart attack before. He had an extra two months in this timeline. That's two more months that he had with you. I don't think there was any way we could've prevented it." I told him with resignation. I wished there had been more that I could have done, but perhaps when it was your time, it was your time. We'd just delayed the inevitable.

"Thank you for giving him more time." He whispered back before walking back into the house.

I turned to Paul before leaning into his chest as he wound his hands into my hair, holding me close.

"Do you think I could've done anything more?" I asked him quietly.

"No, Bella. There wasn't anything we could've done. Sue is in there telling Charlie that Harry had advance heart disease for a while now. The damage was already done." He whispered back to me before pressing a kiss to my forehead.

We walked back in and I noticed Charlie standing by the window that looked out at the back yard. He turned to the both of us with narrowed eyes.

"Anything I need to know, here?" Charlie asked, pointing between the two of us. He must've seen our interaction outside.

"Later, Dad. Imprint related." I told him.

"Later. Got it." Charlie replied looking only mildly surprised.

We stayed there the majority of the day with Jacob and Quil switching out patrol with Jared and Paul half way through.

Embry pulled in with Leah at about 6pm. I opened the door for them and Leah rushed inside to hug her mother with Embry trailing in behind her, looking nervous.

"Is Sam still here?" he asked quickly.

"He just ran back to the house to get something. Em, what's going on?" I asked him curiously. He pulled me outside and ran his hands down his face, pacing back and forth. "What is it?"

"I imprinted on her." He muttered, looking terrified.

"On Leah?" I asked, unbelieving. His eyes turned back to mine with an unreadable expression.

A/N- Well this was a rollercoaster of a chapter... What do you think?

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I spent half the day in a chair getting my AHHHMAAAAZZZZINNNNGGGG new wolf tattoo! When it's fully done, it'll wrap all the way around my arm, but my wolf is DONE! I may attempt to post a picture (maybe as my story picture for a little while?) just so that you guys can see it.
