Chapter 38

Tobirama kept Sakura busy for a day after her return. They stayed in and enjoyed this second chance that had been given to them. They talked about her time in the future and how everything had changed for the best. The white-haired man could not stop to stare at her most of the time, feeling as if having her back was too good to be true. His heart always felt at ease when, seeing his reaction, the pink haired medic was leaning in for a kiss, grabbing his hand, touching his face... Reminding him that she was here and she would not go anywhere. Nor was she planning on it either.

Unfortunately, Tobirama had to give up his grip on her when they were both invited for dinner at the Senju compound. The white haired man had tried to refuse, but Sakura chided him and reminded him that he was not the only one that had missed her and that she missed them too. Grunting, the man finally agreed to let her out of bed and they both prepared for the dinner.

Sakura's return was welcomed with an atmosphere full of happiness and laughter. As soon as she entered the compound, Mito had ran to her and took her in a bone crushing embrace, tears of joy rolling on her cheeks. The medic had not been able to hold her tears in when, pushing her back slightly, Mito introduced her to her two sons Hakura and Hanako, the latest being a few months old in Hashirama's arms. The next to welcome her was Madara who, full of emotions, could only give her a hug and pat her back, which made her laugh.

"Softie..." Her whisper made him laugh and he shook his head. He had missed her very much.

Over the Uchiha leader's shoulder, Kaiya beamed at her, her round belly ready to pop anytime now. Madara glanced his wife's way and the medic could see all the affection the man held for Kaiya. She gently squeezed his arm and walked to the other Uchiha brother who waited with Ama and their young daughter. They exchanged a few words and an embrace. Soon everyone was installed in the dining room.

When the food was served, Hashirama stood and raised his glass.

"To your return and to a future filled with peace because of your hard work." Glancing Tobirama's way, Hashirama smirked. "And to Tobirama who finally understood how to speak to women considering that Sakura stuck around!"

Izuna who was drinking, spat his sake and his roared a laugh at that. Madara's mouth twitched and he raised his glass in Tobirama's direction, amused glint in his onyx eyes.

Tobirama tensed and rolled his eyes, raising his glass before to take a sip. Sakura's hand on his knee made him relax and he met her emerald eyes, a small smile on his lips. Looking down at her hand where the ring now sat on her fingers, she tilted her head towards their friends. Understanding the meaning, he nodded and clearing his throat, stood. The chatter between their friend ceased and they all focused their attention on the white-haired man.

"Thank you, brother, for this... toast. I just wanted to let you know that there will be a wedding to celebrate soon since Sakura-"

Cutting him, she smiled at her friends.

"Since I decided that I could happily put up with him for the rest of my life."

He glanced at her and she smirked while their friends laughed. His crimson eyes darkened, meeting hers and a delicious shiver ran down her spine. Oh, he would make her pay for that later... and she looked forward to it. Hashirama made his way on the other side of the table and hugged her.

"Since the moment you entered our camp, I knew you two were bound to be together."

"With the way he acted at first, I wanted to kill him in his sleep a few times, but-" Meeting Tobirama's eyes, her gaze softened. "He grew on me."

That look she gave him was everything he had ever wished. It was soft, full of promises. He could not help but think that her friend had known what he was doing by sending her in the past an no one else...

After the announcement, they set a date for the wedding that would be in the spring, close to her birthday about two months away. They all retired to the living area when Izuna and Ama left the compound. Sakura and the two other women went to one side of the room with Mito's oldest child, and the three men went to the other side, Hashirama holding a sleeping Hanako.

Sakura was sitting on the floor, playing with Hakura, when suddenly, he fell on his knees. His lips wobbled and soon his cries reverberated around the room. Mito was about to take care of him, but before she could do anything, Sakura scooped him in her arms and cooed, her smiling face making the child forget why he was even crying. She brought her hand to the toddler's face and lit up her hand with some soft healing chakra. Entranced by the glow of her hand, the child giggled happily. Sakura looked at Mito and laughed.

Tobirama was with Hashirama and Madara when Hakura's cries awoke the Hanako, who had been sleeping peacefully in Hashirama's arms. Looking at Madara, the Senju leader smirked and shoved the crying baby in Tobirama's arms. The white haired man glared at his brother, not knowing what to do to calm Hanako.

"Hashirama, this is not funny! Take him back."

The Senju leader laughed harder, shaking his head in denial. Tobirama, flustered, started to pat the baby's back soothingly. Looking up, he saw Sakura calming Hakura and the sight of her with a child, her eyes full of joy, made him forget the crying baby in his arms for a moment. Hashirama and Madara, seeing where his attention had gone, exchanged a knowing look.

Tobirama met her eyes, still patting the baby's back and his heart melted. For a moment, time stopped and he had to wonder if, without her crashing in his life, he would have been able to experience such feeling...This need to start a family of his own. His full attention went back to Hanako when he felt small hands touching the marking on his chin, the baby giggling. Looking down at those big brown eyes, something stirred inside of him and a soft smile graced his features.

Sakura had stopped cooing and could not tear her eyes from the image he made. The strong warrior, built for battles, gently holding the baby, soft smile on his face. Their eyes met again and for a moment, she felt the urge to have her own children with the man she loved. Her family. To hold their children. Seeing the understanding in his eyes, she knew that he was thinking about it too. Suddenly, Hanako pulled on the young Senju's hair and Sakura could not help the laugh that escaped her. She could not wait to marry him.

Two weeks passed since the dinner at the Senju compound. Days were filled with love and laughter and Sakura could not get enough of the man. The feeling was probably mutual since he was always finding ways to spend time with her, even though she resumed her work at the hospital. He would stop by for lunch, carry her home at night when she still had work, spent the nights with her, he became the most important part of her life. The center of it, actually. It was so easy in the mornings when they were lying in bed together to only... exist. To feel like the puzzle was suddenly into place, no more mysteries, no more stray pieces.

That night, Sakura and Tobirama were a mess of tangled limbs, exhausted and happy when someone barged in the house. Hearing the sound, Tobirama gave Sakura a stern look.

"We really need to work on this habit of yours to leave your door unlocked." He whispered in her ear.

A giggle escaped her and turned into a shriek when Madara opened their bedroom door, eyes wide as saucers. Sakura covered herself as best she could and Tobirama, to her surprise, already stood next to the bed with his pants on.

Sakura looked at the Uchiha leader and waited for him to speak, but not words left his mouth. His eyes were glazed over, looking at nothing in particular. Worried, she exchanged a glance with Tobirama who shrugged. The white-haired man took a step in Madara's direction and shook his shoulder.

"Madara?" Tobirama's voice was unsure.

The Uchiha leader's head snapped up and he exhaled loudly. Then remembering why he came all this way for, his eyes met Sakura.

"Madara, what is it?" Sakura's voice held a hint of fear. Shaking his head, chasing the cloud of his mind he straightened.

"It's coming! Hashirama told me it would be easy and wonderful, but it is not. She is in pain and there is nothing I can-"

Wrapping her blanket tightly around her, Sakura walked to the Uchiha leader who was still rambling nonsense. She met Tobirama's eyes again and the man shrugged again. He did not know what was going on either.

"Madara what-"

"No one prepares you for that, they all say that it will be fine but what-" The Uchiha leader stopped, the sting of Sakura's hand slapping his face registering in his brain. Seeing Sakura hit Madara, Tobirama took a step back and tilted his head. He caught her attention and mouthed: Did you really have to hit him?

At that, she rolled her eyes, focusing back on the Uchiha.

"Get yourself together. Why are you here?" Realizing that he had been saying everything but nothing at the same time, Madara rubbed his sore cheek and gave Sakura a serious look.

"The baby, Kaiya is having the baby right now."

"Why didn't you start with that?! Now get out! I'll put on some clothes and we can go to the hospital."

"Put on some-" realizing that she was dressed in nothing else but a blanket and that Tobirama only wore pants, his naked chest slightly flushed, Madara's eyes widened. "Oh. Yes. Of course." With that, he left the bedroom, taking a seat at the table.

Tobirama closed the bedroom door behind the Uchiha and gave Sakura a stern expression.

"Was it really necessary?"

Sakura was putting her clothes on rapidly and just realized that Tobirama was talking about the slap she gave the Uchiha leader. She stopped her movements and turned around, her gaze connecting with his and tilted her head.

"Kaiya is in labor and the only thing you think about is if it was necessary for me to slap him back to reality?" Huffing, she continued to dress and grabbed her pouches while he put on his clothes. Once ready, she gave him a quick kiss and smirked. "To answer your question, yes, it was necessary. Remember, you are not immune to me slapping you just because I love you, so be careful, love."

A shiver went through his body at the word and she knew the effect of it on him. If Kaiya did not need Sakura's help, she would be stuck in this bed for the rest of the night and most of the next day... Crazy how one word from her could almost shatter his self-control.

Entering the hospital, Sakura made it to Kaiya's side with Madara while Tobirama went to her office until she was done.

The delivery took a few hours and Kaiya had been in a lot of pain, which rendered the Uchiha leader at her side pale and speechless. She had offered him to leave the room, but he had stayed next to his wife, caressing her hair and holding her hand when the pain became intense. Finally, with the last push, a strong and healthy baby boy came into the world.

Sakura was about to hand him to Kaiya but she shook her head and motioned to Madara who was in awe, looking at the little bundle. Sakura nodded and gently, gave the boy to him. Tears filled her eyes, seeing the gentleness with which he cradled the newborn in his arms, tracing the boy's face with a prudent finger. When he blinked, Sakura saw a flash of red irises and smiled. The man deserved to be this happy.

The Uchiha leader raised his head and looked at Sakura for a long moment.

"Thank you..."

With a teasing smirk, Sakura motioned to Madara's wife, recovering.

"I would thank your wife, if I were you. She is the one who did all the work for months after all."

Madara smiled and delicately gave the baby to his wife, sitting next to her, his arm around her shoulder.

Sakura looked at them, sharing this moment and her heart longed for her to have her own family. Flaring her chakra delicately for Tobirama to know it was done, she waited. A few seconds later, he knocked on the door and entered, his eyes softening at the portrait Madara made with his newborn child and wife. His crimson eyes met her emeralds and sharing a silent conversation she nodded.

"I think we will let you enjoy this moment together. I will go home, but please, do not hesitate to come to get me if you have any concerns."

Madara stood and smiled at her.

"Let me walk you out."

With that they exited the room. Sakura had a matter to talk about with Madara so she looked at the young Senju.

"Tobirama, would you mind waiting for me outside?" Understanding what she was about to do, Tobirama nodded and left the both of them alone in the hall. Sakura sighed and decided to finally ask. She glanced at the Uchiha leader, nervous to make such a request to him.

"I was wondering. You said I was a part of your family that day... since my family is not here and won't be here for my wedding for obvious reasons I was wondering-" She paused and faced him. "Would you walk me down the aisle?"

He probably did not expect this because, the Uchiha leader was at a loss for words. He opened and closed his mouth multiple times and did not answer, staring at her in disbelief.

"Think about it, you are not obligated to do it, but I would love if you could." She grabbed his hand and squeezed it before to let go.

Before she could take a step towards the door, he grabbed her wrist and she faced him. His eyes were warm and without a word, he brought her in a strong embrace.

"Of course, it would be an honor."

Madara could not believe that out of all their friends, she had asked him. After everything she had done, giving him a chance to have a life, to have a family, he would not refuse this simple of a favor to her. Hell, it was not even a favor, it was only the normal to do. She truly was family to him.

"Thank you." her whisper contained so many emotions that he tightened his grip round her slightly. After a moment she pushed back, wiping her eyes rapidly, gaining back her countenance and smiled up to him.

"Alright, now go and spend time with your family, Madara!"

That being said, he sent her a grateful look which she reciprocated and they both went their ways.

Sakura and Tobirama walked silently to her house for a moment. She was in awe. Her work really paid off. Madara had a family, Izuna lived and now had a family as well... Sucking in a breath, her eyes were shining when she faced Tobirama, pure happiness on her face.

"It is crazy to see how my presence here changed things. Seeing this warmth in his eyes when he held his son- Tobirama, it was truly amazing." Tobirama grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips.

"You are amazing, Sakura." She was about to argue but he smiled. "Without your personality, your generous heart and your dedication, nothing would have changed. You are the person responsible for all of this. Not your presence. You."

Smirking, she opened the door of her house and when he closed it behind him, Sakura wrapped her arms around his neck. When she talked, her eyes were serious, even though she had a smile on her lips.

"And what did I bring into your life, Tobirama."

He thought about the question and wrapped his arms around her, caressing the small of her back.

"Well, at first, you brought a lot of questions and frustration-" at that, she tried to get out of his grasp but his grip on her waist tightened and he had a low laugh. His eyes turned serious and he contemplated her. "In all seriousness, you brought love. Light. Hope. The possibility for a future that I never thought I'd have. The desire to have a family-"

They had never talked about having a family, even thought the subject hung in the air between them more often than not, which is why he paused, glancing at her. Nothing in her eyes gave away her thoughts. Did he mess up? He did not know, but only waited for her reaction. Soon enough, her eyes met his, her expression unreadable.

Sakura was happy that he mentioned it. She never knew how to talk about this subject and it was a relief to her that he wanted to have children. She wanted to have a family. Bear their children when the time came. Other than spending the rest of her life with the man, there was nothing else in the world that she wanted more than that. Especially since that day she had seen him with Hashirama and Mito's son.

"You want a family, love?"

Swallowing hard, the man was not sure what to tell her. Yes he wanted a family, did she not? Not knowing what to say, he nodded slightly. At that, she tilted her head.

"You know what you brought in my life, Tobirama?"

Shaking his head, he did not dare utter a word.

"You brought your fair share of frustration as well..." He tried to smile at that, but he had this churning in his guts, waiting for the other shoe to drop. "You also gave me everything I had ever wanted. Love, loyalty, peace and a feeling of safety. You see-" she gave him a soft smile before to continue, "you also gave me the desire to have a family. Our family."

He let out the breath he was holding and put his forehead on hers, his heart leaping in his chest. This was a relief. Grabbing her face, he trailed kisses from her cheek to her ear and jawline. He voice was husky when he talked next.

"You also brought this annoying and irrepressible need for me to have you closer, to touch you. I never liked human touch before you came crashing in my life." His whisper against her skin made her shiver. The warmth of his lips on her neck made her sigh. A devilish smirk found her lips.

"Really? The untouchable Tobirama Senju needs to be closer to me? I am flattered." Pulling away, he saw the glint in her eyes before she said, daring: "What are you going to do about it, love?"

"Hmm, I have some ideas..."

And oh, did he have wicked ideas that left her panting and undone more than once.

Six weeks passed since the birth of the little Uchiha and it was time for Sakura to get ready for her wedding. She was brought in the Uchiha compound in the morning to get prepared for her big day at Madara's demand. If he was the one to give her away, she would get her every needs taken care of as if she was his own sister. Of course, the pink haired medic tried to argue that it was not necessary and was met with Madara and Izuna's unyielding expression. They would not hear any of it.

So the morning found her getting pampered by Kaiya, Ama and Mito. The women took care of everything. They worked on her make up which was light and natural, except for the eye liner framing her emeralds. Her hair was curled and placed in a half up hairstyle, soft strands of pink framing her face. Madara had been the one taking care of her wedding kimono. Of course, he would go all out for that too. He had not talked to her about his choice and had Ama take her measurements. Sakura did not really care about what she would wear on her wedding day, she only cared that she would finally link her destiny to the one of the man she loved.

When Mito brought it in the room, Sakura let out a small laugh at the sight of it. The kimono was made with expensive fabrics, showing the Uchiha clan colors to show her status within their clan and on the back was embroidered the Senju crest. Her laugh stopped when she realized the statement that Madara had made with it. She was the bridge that had made the two clans come together... She had stopped the war, saving both sides. She had taken care of the Uchiha and their rights like she had been a part of the clan and had helped the Senju with many things. She was like a member of the Uchihas, marrying into the Senju clan. This ceremonial kimono was the perfect representation of the role she played, of who she was.

She could not help the thought to cross her mind, thinking about the whole situation. Who could have known that she would, after all, be a part of the Uchiha clan in some way? It was not what her thirteen years old would have liked, but this older Sakura thought that the present situation was a thousand times better than everything she had ever imagined. She would marry a man who loved her unconditionally and that she loved the same way in return. Nodding at Mito, she started to get dressed. They had a temple to go to soon. The stress made her feel nauseous, but breathing in, she pushed through it. It was time.

Tobirama was pacing in his room. He had been ready for his wedding for the past two hours and could not calm his nerves. A knock on his door made his head snap up. Hashirama entered and smiled at his brother's obvious unrest.

"Nervous?" Hashirama's voice was soft and he gave his younger brother a knowing look.

Tobirama looked at him for a moment before to resume his pacing. Turning around to face Hashirama, the white haired Senju sighed.

"Were you feeling this way before your wedding, brother?"

Hashirama took a few steps in the bedroom and clasped his brother's shoulder, giving him an understanding smile.

"Yes. But when I saw her coming to me in the temple, I forgot everything else."

Nodding, the white-haired man cleared his throat and ran a hand in his hair slowly. His shoulders relaxed slightly and then, he met Hashirama's eyes, his crimson orbs holding so many emotions that the Senju leader had never seen.

"Who could have thought that we would end up like this, after everything we went through..." Tobirama's voice was nostalgic.

"You mean, who could have thought that you would get married?" Hashirama laughed and Tobirama could not help the smile that stretched his lips. Shaking his head, Tobirama sighed. Hashirama smiled to his younger brother and grabbing his shoulder, he squeezed it gently. "Mother would have loved Sakura."

Yes indeed. The white haired man knew that. Sakura and his mother would have had so many things in common... And his brother was also right about something else. Of all people, he never thought that he could get married, let alone love someone the way he loved Sakura. But he did. The feeling was frightening but also so wonderful. Full of resolve, Tobirama opened the door and made his way to the temple, his brother in tow.

The sakura trees were in full bloom when she made her way up the stairs, in her ceremonial kimono. The venue was full of friends, acquaintances, and villagers, ready to finally see this power couple tie the knot. Madara appeared by her side and grabbed her hand, squeezing it slightly. Nodding to her, he brought her inside where her future husband was waiting.

The crowd was in awe when they took in the sight of Sakura. Amazed whispers, pleased gasps and "wow" could be heard all around. People were looking at the color of her clothes and how gorgeous she was wearing them. Another round of them could be heard when they took in the Senju crest on the back of the clothing. The meaning of this wedding was not lost on anyone.

Sakura, on her part, was focusing on her breathing and on her steps, being careful not to fall over. She was so nervous to see him. She leaned into Madara slightly and the man squeezed her hand in reassurance. Soon, she saw him, dressed in his signature blue color. His white hair... and his eyes. His eyes widening at the sight of her. Their beautiful crimson color making her heart burn brightly. Yes. She would have gone through hell and back to travel through time and find this kind of love again. He had been worth it. He was worth it. Their future together was worth it.

Hearing Sakura's breath hitch in her throat, Madara looked down to make sure she was alright. Seeing the way the future husband and wife looked at each other, a full smile spread on his lips. She would be just fine.

Tobirama felt so warm. He wanted to melt into place when he heard the whispers, not seeing her yet. Was everything ok? Was she ok? His thoughts came to a screeching halt when he saw her. She looked like goddess gracing the earth with her presence. When his eyes found hers, shining in all her beauty like the most precious jewel, he forgot everything. Even his own name. She had gone away once and he would not let her go. Never again. He would cherish her and love her until his last breath.

Madara took the last steps and handed Sakura's delicate hand to Tobirama, who took it like it was his life line.

"Take care of her, Senju." Madara's voice was low and almost broke with the emotions when he looked at the two of them.

Tobirama was not able to talk, feeling like he had a knot in his throat, so he nodded eagerly to the Uchiha leader, who then walked to his seat, happy. Bringing his eyes back to her, Tobirama was speechless. He wanted to tell her how beautiful she was, how elated he was, how perfect everything was, but the only thing he could do was open and close his mouth, eyes never leaving hers. Understanding his unspoken words, she squeezed his hand.

"You clean up nice as well, love." At that, a smile found his face and he ran his thumb over her knuckles and the ceremony began.

The ceremony was beautiful and when they exited the temple, she could not help the amazed looks that she have Tobirama. Her husband... They startled a few guests when Tobirama and her disappeared from the steps after the man activated his transportation technique. They appeared back in the compound and soon, her back was against a wall in one of the corridor of the compound.

His mouth found hers and the scorching heat of his kiss left her panting and wanting more, but he took a step back, breathing in deeply. His burning crimson eyes traced the lines of her face, of her neck, and back to her emeralds. With his fingertips, he traced her flushed cheeks softly.

"I needed a moment alone with you before the reception."

"I am not opposed to it, love." At the word, he closed his eyes, breathing in. Grabbing her waist, he brought her in a tight embrace, her arms wrapping around his neck. "Now come, the guests probably caught up to us."

A grunt left his lips and he sighed.

"My wife is torturing me."

"I did no such thing." She raised on the tip of her toes and gave him a sweet kiss. Sakura stepped out of his grasp and walked towards the dining hall, Tobirama following her reluctantly. If it were up to him. He would lock himself up with her in their bedroom for a few days, but she was right. They had guests.

When they made their entrance, Madara looked at Sakura's flush cheeks and glanced at Tobirama with a knowing look. The both of them were impossible.

The reception was amazing, the food had been delicious and the music was entertaining. Everyone enjoyed their time and all the clans were talking, having fun together.

If Sakura was nauseous before her wedding, her stomach was now painful. She had put that on the count that she had not eaten that much or that it was the stress winding down, but now she was worried. Sitting at her table, she drank some water and felt the churn in her belly leaving her light headed. Annoyed, she sent some diagnostic chakra in her system and what she found made her eyes widened. Counting in her head, she her breath hitched. Yes. It was true, and totally possible.

She was taken out of her thoughts when Tobirama gave her his hand so she could come and dance with him. Grabbing his hand, she stood on her feet, still dazed, but followed him to the dancefloor. He noticed her pale face and frowned, but did not make any case of it. Instead, he placed his hands on her and started to move them around the room.

Sakura forgot her predicament for a moment, enjoying how his body moved so fluently and flawlessly. They looked at each other and the silence between them was comfortable. Suddenly, he twirled her around in circles and when he brought her back to his body, she gripped his arm tightly, a steadying herself with a hand on his chest. Her face flushed and her breathing was heavier than normal, which made him nervous.

"Please, warn me next time, I was not ready-" She was breathless and he could see small pearls of sweat on her brow. Frowning, Tobirama continued the dance, rubbing soothing circles on her lower back.

"Are you well, Sakura?" She looked up at him, still pale and his frown deepened. "I can get you some sake if-"

She did not gave him the time to finish his sentence. She met his crimson eyes and a glint of amusement shone in her emeralds.

"I can't drink sake tonight." Her voice was matter-of-factly and he tilted his head, not understanding.

"It is our wedding night, of course you can have sake." She was not making any sense.

Sakura smiled inwardly.

"No. I can't."

Tobirama did not push and just continued to move them around the floor, his soothing hand on her back never stopping. Sakura wanted to see if his logic was still sharp so she just smiled enigmatically to him, giving him a quick peck on the lips.

His frown came back and he thought about her words. She could not drink sake tonight? If there was a night for her to drink it would be their wedding night. Shaking his head, he shrugged. Since the last wedding where she disappeared, Tobirama always sensed around the rooms when there were gatherings to make sure everything was fine. Extending his sensor skills, he froze and stopped dancing when a smaller chakra he had never felt before brushed against his. Focusing on the source of it, his eyes narrowed. It was close to Sakura, very close almost like- When was the last time that she-

Taking a step back, Tobirama looked down at Sakura's abdomen and met her eyes. He did this multiple times and she laughed after the fourth time. He did not want to voice it since he did not want to be disappointed if it was not it, but all the evidence were there and he could not help himself. He had to know.

"Is it- are you- Are we-" Stammering, he could not form a sentence. His heart was hammering in his chest, waiting for her to answer him.

Sakura laughed at the pure joy shining in the depth of his crimson eyes. At that, tears pooled in her emeralds and she laughed happily, a large smile on her face.

"It would seem so."

At that, a shaky breath left his lips and his eyes shone with tears. This was too good to be true. They were going to be parents? Shaking out of his thoughts, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her deeply. Putting her back on the floor, he cupped her face gently in his hands.

"When did you find out?"

"Only after dinner, by accident."

His heart felt so full that it could have exploded in his chest and he would not have cared. This was all he ever wanted. An amazing wife that was his equal in all the sense of the term, and a family that would get bigger with time. Sakura looked around them and blushed madly.

Wondering what was happening, Tobirama glanced around as well and froze. Every eyes in the room were on them, happy and pleased of the news. Madara came out of the crowd, picking up on Sakura's mood.

"I think congratulations are in order for the happy couple!" He raised a glass in their direction and then everyone did the same. After the toast, people went back to their business to Sakura's relief. Looking over the crowd, she gave Madara a grateful nod, to which he answered, bowing with a hand on his heart.

Tobirama cupped her face again and kissed her senseless in the middle of the dancefloor before to bring her into another dance. Now, he held her closer, possessively, even. She huffed a laugh. Territorial much? But she could not bring herself to care too much. He was her husband, she would probably have to scare away a few women in their future.

The rest of the night, they danced and when they were in their bedroom, Tobirama showed her just how happy he was. When they laid in bed afterwards, his hand found her belly, where their baby was growing and they fell asleep, pure bliss filling them.

Months passed and Sakura became one of the most beautiful flower of them all. She had this glow about her, this air of serenity that left Tobirama mesmerized every time he saw her. The man was enamored with his wife and was doing everything he could for her to be comfortable or have everything she needed during her pregnancy. One night around two in the morning, he even cooked her the dish he made her the first time they had dinner together because she was craving it. He had been half-asleep but had done it, for her.

Sakura on her side, was amused by his behavior. He was an amazing husband and provided her with everything she needed when she had to reduce the amount of things she could do by herself. The only thing that she did not expect was how much of a mother hen Tobirama was. She thought that Madara had been something, but Tobirama was surpassing him. When his overly protective behavior was starting to be frustrating, Sakura reminded herself that he did it because he cared and probably since it was one of the only way he could feel useful. Now, thinking about it, she could not help the loving smile that found her face more often than not. He would definitely be a great father.

They were sleeping that night when a pang of pain in her side woke her up. Thinking nothing of it, Sakura went to the bathroom to relieve herself. Opening the door, she felt warm liquid between her legs and heard a plop of water on the ground. My water broke. Another contraction happened and she breathed in deeply. She knew it was suppose to happen soon but she had hoped to have more time before that. Sometimes, life was not happening like you had planned it! She knew that way too well. For now, she had to wake Tobirama up so they could get to the hospital. It was happening. A nervous shiver ran down her spine.

"Tobi!"

Her scream woke him up and touching the bed next to him he realized that she was not there. Hearing heavy breathing coming from the bathroom, Tobirama was on his feet and running to her in half a second. Taking in the sight of her, his eyes widened.

"Don't stand there, love, we need to go!" Her face did not betray any fear or nervousness. She was calm and breathing in deeply through the pain.

"So you- we- are we-" Still staring at her, he could not move, too surprised about the situation. Taking a wobbling step forward, Sakura slapped him in the face, huffing. Tobirama realized what she did and the stinging feeling on his cheek brought him back to reality. She looked at him expectantly.

"If you want our child to come into this world in our bathroom, we can stay. I'd rather do this at the hospital, so we need to go, Tobirama."

Nodding her grabbed her in his arms, bridal style. Looking down he tilted his head.

"Was the slap really necessary?"

She laughed, face scrunching when another wave of contraction hit her.

"I told you the other time that even though I love you, you were not immune to it, love."

Remembering the moment she talked about he shrugged and transported them to the hospital.

When he appeared in the middle of the hall, Ama came out of a room and realized what was happening. She almost laughed at the man's stiff posture and nervous eyes, but knowing how Izuna had passed out when she delivered their daughter, she decided against. Funny how these man could be seen as gods among shinobis, but once you put them next to their wives in labor, they lost their all mighty presence and were only men after all.

They quickly installed Sakura on a bed and the work started. They waited for hours, Sakura taking each contraction and breathing through them all until she was finally ready to push.

Tobirama knew that childbirth was something difficult. He heard about the time that it took and the pain the women went through, but gods, how unprepared he had been for it. He felt powerless and helpless. Seeing it first hand was something else and his love for Sakura only deepened. She was handling every wave of pain, every push like a champion, holding his hand tightly, even breaking his knuckles and one of his fingers at some point. He could not care less about broken bones, not when the pain she endured was times and times worst.

Between the pushes, Tobirama would sit behind her, massaging her belly like Ama showed him to, and he would kiss her temple, whispering words of encouragement to her. Sakura did not complain about the pain once and when her eyes were meeting his, he could only see soft green and her love for him, for this family they were going to build, in her emeralds.

Sakura was focusing on getting her child out. She knew that childbirth as a medic was the most beautiful thing in the world to witness, but being the one on the bed was another story. No one prepared you for the pain of it. And here she had thought that her period cramps had been bad... Having Tobirama by her side was the greatest thing she could have asked for. He was there, giving her the strength to push, to do it when she did not want to hurt anymore. Pain aside, she was excited to finally meet the tiny human that grew in her for months...

Ama smiled reassuringly to Sakura.

"One more push and it is done."

Nodding, Sakura took in deep breaths and Tobirama tensed when she started to push. Soon enough, the baby was there and screaming his lungs out.

"A boy!" Ama was passing the baby to the aid so that she could clean him and wrap him in a soft blanket when Sakura's eyes widened.

"Ama... I think that-" The pink haired medic's voice held all her disbelief for the situation.

Ama looked back at Sakura and seeing something, met Tobirama's eyes. Tobirama held his breath. Something was wrong. This could not be, she could not- Ama's grin made his thought stop.

"Senju-sama, it looks to me like you'll go home with double the trouble."

At that, he felt like someone sucked all the air out of his lungs. Double the tro- Twins?! Could it really be? Meeting Sakura's eyes, he could not help the smile of pure happiness that lit up his face. She gave him a tired smile, but a happy one nonetheless. Getting back to her side, he held her hand and she put her forehead on his. Taking a few deep breaths, the labor continued for almost an hour until the other baby was in Ama's arm.

"And a girl!"

At that, tears flooded Tobirama's eyes. A son and a daughter. A shaky breath left his lips and he leaned towards Sakura. He gave her a soft kiss, tears falling from his eyes, or hers? he did not know. He did not care. This was the most beautiful present they could have ever been given after everything. Sakura grabbed his face and wiped his tears away.

"Our family..." Her voice was so soft. He nodded, fresh tears falling from his eyes.

Ama brought their son and placed him in Sakura's arms, then brought their daughter and gave her to Tobirama before to leave the room, letting the new parents enjoy the newborns.

The white haired Senju look down at this precious bundle in his arms, tears still flowing out of his eyes. She was perfect. His daughter had soft features... Her white hair had a pinkish tint to it, almost overpowering the white. Feeling her father's eyes on her, she graced him with a glance and crimson met crimson. Tracing the fragile face of his daughter with his finger, a shaky smile found his lips and he looked at Sakura who was doing the same with their son. Sakura glanced at him and laughed.

She was happy. Looking at her son. Their son, she had to admit that the pain had been worth it. The boy had white hair, whiter than Tobirama's and he already looked around eagerly with bright green eyes. His tiny hand wrapped around her finger and Sakura looked back at Tobirama. A tired, but happy laugh left her lips.

"They played hide and seek and we never knew we would have two!"

Tobirama laughed and approached the bed, sitting next to his wife. She took in the sight of her daughter while he did the same with his son. Their observation done, Sakura decided to hold both children in her arms. Sakura was startled when Tobirama cupped her face.

"Thank you." She sent a questioning glance his way and he continued. "Thank you for giving me the most beautiful children and for bringing them into this world with us."

Sakura kissed her husband and yawned. She was sore and exhausted. Giving her their son, she realized that his hand was swollen. Taking in in hers she saw the weird angle of one of his finger and the state of his knuckles. Without a word, she brought her hand and sent healing chakra to it, repairing everything rapidly.

Tobirama was in awe. She had been giving birth to their children for hours and now was finding the energy to heal him. She was impressive. That being done he looked at their children before to glance in Sakura's eyes lovingly.

"Can we have more of them? They are so perfect..."

"I would tell you no right now because there is not a part of my body that does not hurt. Let's talk about it later." Her tired laugh made him smile. "Also, we have to name them before to even think about having other children, no?"

He nodded and looking at his son, he smile.

"What do you think of Hajime?"

"Hajime, "the beginning"... I love it." She traced her daughter's cheek and when Sakura met his eyes again, she was decided. "We can name her Yua."

Yua... binding love and affection. Yes indeed, this would be a fitting name. Their twins. The beginning of binding love and affection.

"Hajime and Yua, the youngest members of the Senju clan..." His voice was soft and when he looked at her, Sakura knew that life with him, with them, would be the best.

On his side, Tobirama was still in awe. His wife was the strongest. She was incredible. Looking at the two treasures she had carried with love and brought to the world for their family, he had to admit that life had a way to surprise him in the best of ways. Her arrival, her departure, her return, their wedding, their love, their children... Everything had been meant to be. He was sure of that.
