The Potter Residence, Godric's Hollow, Muggle World...
Fresh air had done Lily Potter a world of good as she strolled out into the open city finally a free woman. Her emerald green eyes shimmered in the bright morning light of the sun and she seemed to have a good deal on her mind. Freedom from being confined to the asylum had been welcoming of course but she had no intention of letting her own dear sister get away with stealing the life, she had come to the conclusion, that was rightfully hers. After all it was SHE that Severus Snape had loved since they were children, not Petunia. The absurdity of Petunia laying claim to him after everything they shared, Harry included. Lily smirked as she recalled the night Harry had been concieved. He had told her he loved her then. More than once. The nerve of Petunia suggesting that their son had not been born out of love had been pure hogwash, so to speak. Having made up her mind as to how she wished to spend her time, Lily ventured back to Godric's Hollow. Visions of "Reynard" and their time together had sustained her while she'd been locked away and now she had been quite eager to return home to the letters that awaited her gaze. She had hoped James had taken off, news of his recent arrest had reached even her in the asylum.
He had not been too pleased when the truth of Harry's paternity had been revealed to him, of course he flat out ignored it. It seemed he saw Lily as far too weak to have the gall to cheat on him with anyone, let alone Severus Snape considering their past history with him. The embittered and aged Potter boy had been much too attached to his own ego to note that not even Lyell had been his.
Lily couldn't say that she regreted either of the children belonging to better men, given James Potter's numerous infedelities and his most recent admission that he only married her to keep her away from Severus Snape.
The rather mentally unstable witch made her way inside the house, it had seen better days from the looks of it with broken glass, blood, toppled furniture, and torn articles of clothing had been everywhere. Lily sighed, she knew signs of a scuffle when she saw them and wondered briefly if Severus ventured back to the house. There had been no sign of James, whom had possibly stayed at the office or left with Sirius at the moment. Giving Lily a much needed break from the inevitable fight that would occur between them over the newest of revelations about their past.
Moving through the mess that had become of her home since she'd been locked away, Lily managed to get to her secret stash of letters that she had stolen from her elder sister's flat before their subsequent falling out before she found out that all the letters from "Reynard" had indeed been from Severus Snape.
Dumbledore had been quite instrumental in getting her released as soon as possible and she set about making arrangments to put James Potter and the life she intended to have with him in the past. The truth had been known now afer all those years of secrets and lies, Severus had been the father of her first born son and Remus Lupin the father of the second. Feeling a little embittered about the past encounters, she had secretly wished both boys had belonged to her former lover as it would no doubt enrage her elder sister.
Lily collected the letters and a few articles of clothing before leaving Godric's Hollow and her memories of life with James Potter behind. She had been intent on focusing on her future and gainful employment had been offered to her in the wake of her release. She made up her mind to live with her parents for the time being, as she had no where else to go until she'd been called to work. There was a lot to do before she could petition to get her children back and she intended to have al of her ducks in a row so to speak.

The Evans Residence, Muggle World...
Settling back into her childhood home had taken some getting use to, as much had changed since last she spent the night under her parents' roof. Her mother had been silent as dinner had been served not in the least interested in conversing with either her newly returned youngest daughter nor her guilt ridden husband. Their callous attacks on the young lad Severus Snape had been quite unsavory for her taste, but she tolerated them well enough, they were still family after all. Petunia's noticable absence at the family table had been another factor in the changes to the household as the elder Evans daughter had a husband and children in a home of her own.
Lily didn't make any fuss so long as she was under her parents' roof. Seeing it unwise to anger them when she had no place else to go.
Once dinner was out of the way, Lily made her way back to her childhood bedroom, the anticipation of her dream-like fantasies and the passion dripped words that lined the parchment she'd hoarded since swiping them had called to her. Behind closed doors, Severus Snape had been there awaiting her return, his dark eyes flickering with heated attraction as he looked upon her and his words kind as she approached.
"I've missed you." he had said.
Tears streamed down Lily's cheeks as she made her way toward her bed.
"I missed you too." she replied.
"Severus" treated her to that all too familiar boyish smirk he often had whenever they conversed as children. It always amazed her how he managed to be so snide and charming at the same time.
"I love you, Severus." she said softly.
"Do you now?" he asked with the same expression.
"Yes." replied Lily as if desperate to convince him.
He seemed to take it all in making his way to the foot of her bed with something of an arrogant smirk filed across his pale face.
Lily watched him, longing to feel his arms wrapped around her body and the all too familiar sensation of his kiss along her lips.
"Why did you have to marry Tuney?" she asked as the tears kept coming. "You two never even liked each other."
Snape said nothing as he simply stood at the foot of the bed allowing her to continue.
"Harry is getting older." he said as if casually.
Lily nodded.
"He'll be Hogwarts age soon." she agreed.
"Do you remeber when we went to Hogwarts?" asked "Snape" moving toward the window.
"It was the happinest time of my life." replied Lily albeit distant. "You loved me then, and only me."
"The foolish endeavours of a boy." replied "Snape in something of a stern tone. "I shall never again make such a mistake."
Lily got to her feet and scrambled toward the window.
"Severus." she said frantic as he faded away. "Severus don't leave me..."
Just out her window she could see "Snape" as he greeted a smirking "Petunia".
"Better luck next time Lil." she had said before proceeding to kiss "Snape" as they faded away.
Lily awoke to find herself alone in her childhood bedroom seething with rage at the fact that her elder sister had the wizard she wanted. As far as she had been concerned, Severus Snape had been hers and Petunia had no right to insinuate herself into their lives. She vowed to put an end to their union and reclaim the wizard that had rightfully been her's but she knew there were less direct means to go about it. She had been a witch after all and Petunia had been little more than a muggle.
