A week has pass since Halloween, and the Tortuga stands in a clearing by a forest as Fall was starting to take effect. As leaves of broad-leaf trees were changing from green to yellow, red or orange.
Some birds were beginning to fly south to warmer temperatures, and reptiles like lizards, snakes and turtles were basking in the remaining warmth before they too seek shelter.
In the Tortuga, everyone was doing their own thing as Amber was relaxing in her bed. But then a slight movement caught her attention as she turns to the tree and saw something green vanished behind it.
Her curiosity got the better of her, and then went over to the tree. And then peaked over and saw a green gecko with red spots.
The species was called a Giant Day Gecko.
But Amber then got into a lunging position ready to pounce, besides the meat food they have been feeding her, Amber also has a diet on insects, and even small mammals and lizards.
The Day Gecko then turned it's head over seeing the small raptor, though it never seen a dinosaur before, it knows a threat when it sees one.
Then Amber lunges as the gecko quickly bolted up the tree, and Amber narrowly missed the gecko as she fell into a bucket.
The Wild Kratts looked over as Amber struggled in the bucket.
"Amber, what are you doing?" Martin chuckled.
He went over and lifts her up from the bucket.
Chris went over to them, but them saw the gecko laying on a branch.
"Hey, look at this." Chris said.
Aviva, Koki and Jimmy went as they all saw the gecko.
"Cool, a Giant Day Gecko." Chris said amazed. "One of the biggest geckos. I really love the green on these guys."
"And nice red spots as well." Aviva said.
"Yeah, it's cool." Jimmy said.
"Um, is it just me or does anyone notice a problem here?" Aviva asked.
"No." Chris, Martin, Jimmy and Koki said in unison.
"What?" Martin said.
"Day Geckos don't live in North America!" Aviva said. "What's he doing here?"
"And where'd he come from?" Koki wondered.
"You're right, he must've snuck aboard the last time we were in Madagascar and accidentally rode here with us." Martin said.
"No problem, we'll just take him home..." Chris said.
"Okay, let me just grab him and..." Koki said reaching out to grab the gecko.
"No!" Chris and Martin yelled. "Stop!"
"Don't grab him like that!" Martin said.
"Why not?" Koki asked.
"Day Geckos can literally tear their own skin off if snatched." Chris said.
"WHAT?!" Aviva, Koki and Jimmy exclaimed.
"Yeah, it's a next level in lizard defense." Martin said. "As well as dropping their tails, Day Geckos literally rip their own skin off if caught on the body."
"Yeah, and it's a great defense against predators." Chris said.
"I'll say. But wouldn't that hurt the gecko?" Aviva asked.
"Actually, like the tail, their skin will grow back in time." Chris said.
"So, how do we get the gecko back if we can't grab him?" Jimmy said.
"Gripping you can't." Martin said. "But there is a way to handle day geckos."
Chris then held his right hand out and flat and near the gecko, and then gently coax the gecko to lay flat on his hand.
"Okay, there we go." Chris said.
Then Martin got a container with a lid with holes, and opens it as Chris gently lowered his hand down, and allows the gecko to crawl into the container. And then Martin placed the lid over it and secures it.
"There, all set." Chris said.
"Jimmy, set a course to Madagascar in the range of the Giant Day Gecko." Aviva said.
"On it." Jimmy said.
Soon, the Tortuga takes off and hovers, and then begins the long flight to Madagascar.
2 days later, they finally made to Madagascar in an area where Day Geckos live.
At the moment, Chris, Martin and Amber were wandering through the forest with the gecko in the container.
"Hmm, this looks good." Martin said.
Chris then sets the container down, and opens the lid and had his hand out flat. Soon, the gecko slowly crawls out and onto his hand. Chris stood up and then held his hand near a tree, and soon the Day Gecko crawled onto the side of the tree, and climbs up.
"Creature mission accomplished." Martin said. "The gecko safely back home."
"Yep, living free and in the wild." Chris said.
The 2 then high-five each other.
"Yeah, wanna try Day Gecko Power?" Martin suggested.
"Why not?" Chris shrugged.
They then inserted their Gecko Power Discs into their Power Suits, and then gently touched the gecko on his back. And then press the Activation Button into Gecko Power with the red markings of a Day Gecko.
"Cool!" Chris said.
A few hours later, they were beginning the long flight back to North America.
"Sure was unexpected to find a Day Gecko in the Tortuga." Koki said.
"At least we saved him from also becoming a snack for Amber." Martin said.
They then laughed as Amber was busy eating a dish of meat.
Author's Note:
I just heard that another Season 6 is on it's way, called Wild Dogs and Wild Cats.
It's when the Wild Kratts travel around the globe seeing that wild dogs and wild cats can live almost on every continent.
It mentions African Wild Dogs, Siberian Tigers, Ethiopian Wolves, Snow Leopards, Asian Lions, Fishing Cats, Arctic Foxes, Maned Wolves, Sumatran Tigers, and even mention some extinct species like the Dire Wolf, Japanese Wolf, Javan Tiger, Caspian Tiger, Bali Tiger, American Cheetah, American Lion, and Smilodon.
