I caught him looking at me again. Looking and smiling. He wasn't smiling at me, per se; rather grinning contently to himself, like he was experiencing an extreme bout of inner peace. Naturally I smiled back his way.

"What?" My tone was kind and playful. Luke blinked, as if he caught himself and realized what he'd been doing. "Oh… nothing. I was just…. thinking." "Thinking about what?" I straightened up my back, my arms full of wildflowers. Luke had come picking with me today. He gazed off into the distance for a moment. "Oh, about life… about where I am today, and what brought me here." "Oh? Anything you want to share?" My grin widened. His eyes ran back over to mine, lowering ever so mildly.

"I messed up, Saoirse. I let myself get attached before I died. Dead Jedi can love, but for the rest of us….." "Are you talking about me, your sister….?" My grin slowly faded. Luke waited a second before lowering his head. "You; of course its you. How could it not be? You were like my own personal sun, drawing me ever closer. There wasn't a day which I didn't look at you and… and want to protect you more, to keep you from all harm. You gave my life a meaning I never knew I was meant for…. as a teacher and protector." "Luke!" My cheeks were blushing by now. His eyes softened so incredibly gently; I felt cradled by them.

"There's just something about you- something I'd never seen before. Something I was afraid to lose, for I knew that if I did, I won't find it anywhere else."

The alarms were going off like crazy. Gideon flashed Mando this ironic smirk. "Well, perhaps she'll get another crack at it." Wisely electing to ignore him, they all gathered around the computer screens. "The ray shields have been breached. We're being boarded," one lady- I didn't know her name- announced. "How many life forms?" Bo Katan asked her. She peered back at her. "None."

Moff Gideon stood up. "You're about to face off with the dark troopers. You had your hands full with one. Let's see how you do against a platoon," he ended his sentence by glancing to Mando. Carl blinked to Mando afraid. "Mando," his voice was concerned and urgent. Then both men looked at me.

"They're headed this way," you could see legions of robot soldiers marching towards where I guess we were. Mando took hold of my hand and led me to the back of the room. He sat me down in a well-hidden chair, where he placed his hand reassuringly on my right shoulder. "Don't worry, Saoirse. I'm gonna get you out of here," he comforted in a hushed voice. I grinned up at him, putting my hand over his wrist; I gave it a loving squeeze. "I know you will." Then he went to join the others at the screens.

Well, they were panicking hard time. "Seal the blast doors!" One of Bo Katan's friends ordered. I don't know what good metal doors are gonna do against those droids; but then, I'm not an engineer. But I can see why they chose to take such precaution. It didn't take long for them to be right outside our doors.

"They're here," false-Mandalorian lady told everyone. They all got their very large and impressive guns out and ready. The droids didn't wait to start pounding on the steel of the doors. Bo Katan put on her helmet, as did the other lady, and aimed both her blasters forward. Gideon glanced back in my direction, still wearing that sick same smile he always wears. "You have an impressive fire team protecting you," he stated in jest. I frowned but didn't that didn't stop him from going on. "But I think we all know, after a valiant stand, everyone in this room will be dead… but me… and you, Saoirse Jinn." I knew what that meant. He wanted to use me more and then execute me with his own hands. If he only knew….. Speaking of which.

The alarm went off again. This ship flew across the windows outside. We all blinked in surprise, including me. "An X-wing," one false-Mandalorian lady declared. "One X-wing? Great. We're saved," Carl remarked sarcastically. Meanwhile she marched over to the control board to press a button. "Incoming craft, identify yourself." It did not identify itself.

Then, like a pulse of energy flowing through my entire body from the inside out, my eyes widened; I gasped audibly. This familiar tingling touched my fingers, growing ever stronger as it crept up the lengths of my arm. I actually looked at my hand- palm up- which I must say seemed perfectly normal from the outside. But inside…..

I know this feeling, my lips which previously fell open wide shrunk to a sliver. I've felt it before; I've experienced this sensation before…. somewhere. Somewhere…. My fingers curled a little, the tingling increasing. Yes, I know this- I've felt it before. Only this time, I have a physical body…. "I sensed your energy long ago- it's how I found you in the galaxy. I want you to always be able to sense me."

My eyes slowly drifted from the palm of my hand to the screen where the robots were starting to head away from our doors. I watched them for a minute….

Then I looked at the metal doors.
