"As far as I'm concerned this is my room. You weren't here when we were selecting rooms! This was my room before it was ever your room." Sam whined.
"Did the twins put you up to this?"
"No, they weren't here while we chose rooms. They don't even know that I've decided to move back in. I can't be a police officer anymore, I'm missing a limb." Sam said pointing to his stubby arm.
"Of course, you can be a police officer. You can direct traffic with one hand," Santana bitches at him. Santana looked at his stump and then back at him, she wasn't going to let him guilt her. "Right, I don't care. Get out of my room."
"I already claimed it!" Sam said snapping back.
"The twins gave me my room back! Charlie said I could have my room back! Find a closet or something that you can sleep in."
"I am not sleeping in a closet! I got here first, all of my stuff is here, you go find a closet." Sam snaps back at her moving to the bed once more.
"Are you fucking kidding me—" Santana begins only to be shoved towards the corner by a rather firm hand she glares at the person who had touched her only to see Blaine adjusting his coat and hair.
"Children, there are some very serious and delicate talks going on downstairs, and we can all hear you arguing over a bedroom." Blaine said calmly, a strained smile on his face.
"I was here first!" Sam insists. "She's the one that blew up the manor in the first place, I think that means I get dibs on the room choice."
"I don't know why you can't just sleep at the foot of their bed or something. Get a nice dog bed—" Santana begins.
"That's racist." Sam interrupted in an offended tone.
"Bullshit—" Santana snaps.
Blaine exhaled slowly, "Sam, go wait in my room."
"Seriously? You're choosing her!" Sam whined, holding up his stubby hand. "I've lost a hand."
"I shall build you your own place on the manor grounds, it's better than being in a small room with one window. It'll just take a few days." Blaine said calmly.
"Wait, that was an option?" Santana blinks.
"Not for you," Blaine said, resisting the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose. "Quinn informed me you'd be in their bedroom. I put in an extra closet for you."
"They didn't ask!" Santana says throwing her arms up in the air. "They just came to my house and convinced my parents that they were good vampires—" Santana frowned and sighed. "This is my room."
Sam frowned slightly, no one seemed to be giving him sympathy; he was a hero but no one seemed to care. "I want a big house."
"Fine, let's just go." Blaine said as all of Sam's things were suddenly packed and at the door. "To my room, you will help me design it. I'll bring your things, just head down."
Sam huffed but grabbed one of his bags and tossed it over his shoulder and shot Santana an irritated look.
"You get a house!" Santana snaps at him, it didn't matter if she felt childish, but this was her space. She sighs they were gone, but this room felt familiar and unlike Sam she needed to be close to the vampires. Sure a few of the Josh Coleman's might have died by Emma's hand, but Brittany had boundary issues, and she wasn't sure she wanted to deal with other members of the Red Court either.
Dumping her things onto the bed and frowning at the dog hair that was all over the sheets she sighs and moves to find Blaine to see if he can get her some new blankets. She heads down the hallway and pauses at the sounds coming from the formal dining hall. She hesitates before making her way down, hoping that Blaine would be there. She stops at the entry and pokes her head in and freezes at the sight in front of her.
Massive silver spikes were piercing various parts of Emma's body, suspending her in the air, it looked like a gruesome crucifixion. "Shit."
"Impressive isn't it."
Santana turned to look at the woman beside her, Charlie and Quinn had bowed to her and she swallows. Sue was the king of the court. All vampires answered to her. "I—"
"You're the twins' concubine. I haven't seen them share in such a long time. Adorable."
Santana bristled, "I'm no one's concubine. And they know it." Her tolerance for vampires was at an all time low and even though she knew that Sue could probably kill her, she wasn't in the mood, and she had no idea why she was so frustrated. It was probably Charlie's fault.
"If that's what you need to tell yourself to get to sleep at night," Sue snorts almost derisively. She pauses and studies the structure in front of her for a long moment, "Though I have heard reports that you were instrumental in Emma's capture. She's a bit of a roach, I thought I had killed her about a millennium ago."
Santana blinks, Charlie and Quinn weren't that old, and she shivers. "I wish you had, but she needs a trial so the humans know what's going on and they remember that you're here to protect us."
Sue blinks and turns to Santana, "Interesting."
Santana frowned, "The last vampire that took an interest in me, is Brittany and the relationship is mostly one-sided. I don't want to be a vampire."
"Not yet. You'll grow old, and they'll stay the same and the thoughts will start to plague you. Will they forget about me, am I just a speck in their immortality? Then the fear, and that's when you'll ask and they'll grant you immortality, and then things will change. You'll never be the same unless they choose to make you into what they are."
Santana swallows, "I'm never becoming a vampire."
"You will if you stay here with them. You seem to be ambitious and you care about the humans enough. Wouldn't you like to change it? The twins are content playing in their little kingdom, they have zero ambition otherwise they would have overthrown me years ago. You on the other hand managed to convince them that it was in their best interest to bring the humans up. Now wouldn't you like to do that on a global scale?"
Santana blinks, "I am not sleeping with you." The words were out before she could stop them.
Sue laughed, "You are but an infant compared to my many lifetimes. Human advisor to the King of the Red Court. Every vampire in my court would bow to you. Your voice would be an extension of my voice." Sue paused and side-stepped Charlie who had appeared and had moved to tackle her. "I told you that you were still far too slow."
Charlie turned her fangs bared at Sue.
"I'm offering your pet a job, you should be thrilled. It's an amazing honor, and more importantly it's her choice."
Charlie lunged once more, only for Quinn to appear and grab Charlie by the shirt and swing her into the room sending her flying, "Behave. I'll handle this."
Santana blinked, "What do you mean you'll handle it. We were in a discussion about my future. I can handle this."
Quinn studied Santana for a moment, "Very well."
Santana exhaled slowly and turned to look at Sue who was waiting expectantly, "I want to work for you. But my family is here. I know you might suggest relocating them but that's going to be a massive move. Sam's like the annoying brother I never wanted. And those two—well I like them most days and I'd miss them terribly. And if I did come you know they'd come with me and I imagine the reason you don't visit them as often as you can is because like me you find them to be annoying as hell."
Sue flicked her eyes to the twins for a moment, and then back at Santana. "I think I like her. Very well, let's discuss your duties then."
Santana turned to look at the twins, Quinn looked impressed and Charlie looked annoyed. She'd deal with the fallout later, but this was her time to make a difference world wide.
