Outside of the castle, the sorceress and her apprentice were together. The thief mage was on her knees and bowed down.
The Sorceress was furious at the result. She was waving her scepter aggressively near Bianca. She was a lightly chubby humanoid lizard with blue scales, white-cream underbelly, a short tail and purple eyes. She wore a tall golden crown with purple jewel on it, a scepter with a dragon egg on it where it's magic was shining a little, a few rings, a purple silk vest and white doilies around her neck, "What are you doing? That stupid little dragon is still alive and he brought more eggs back to the other side of the world!"
"I'm sorry," Bianca replied weakly, "They were stronger than the monster you asked me to send."
"That doesn't matter. I've already sent something to destroy that little dragon."
"What did you send?"
"A Beast made to ambush the preys. I made sure to instruct it to take care of the little purple dragon," she grunted as she waved her scepter, "As for you! You better to find the eggs before they take them all out! We have enough dragons in here that are destroying the realm! If they bring all the eggs, the magic of will be gone and our realm will fall forever," she raised the head of Bianca with her scepter.
"You're right. We cannot let the realm fall to nothing," she stood up and used her magic to teleport elsewhere.
"This has been going on for far too long. That little dragon has no chance against that beast," she chuckled, "The Beast Makers gift are incredibly useful."
Bang!
The Sorceress looked around, "What was that?" She tried to search for an intruder, but there was no one.
Unknown to her, on top of the castle, a dark purple dragon flattened on the invisible shield protecting the castle from invaders.
It was Malefor who tried to strike down, but smashed against it. He tried to use his excessive magic to break the shield, but to no avail. He freed his face from it and shook his head, "Dammit!" he wanted to break the shield by force, but with the Sorceress around, he shouldn't take the risk. He frowned and decided to change plan, "I better find Spyro first."
Chapter 38: Dangers In Midday Gardens
In the morning, Spyro woke up and looked around. He saw that the sky was back to normal. He wasn't in the mysterious library anymore. He shook his head as he stood up, "Morning Sparx."
His dragon fly buzzed the same while waving at him.
"I see you slept well," Hunter said as he prepared to wander on his own and investigate the realm.
"Yup. A weird dream where… something happened and I met Malefor," the purple dragon replied.
The cheetah nodded, "Good. I had none. Anyway, I'll go and search for the eggs. Maybe I'll cross path with those humans."
Zoe flew at the side of the purple dragon, "We will continue on our own."
"Right. We will save my siblings," the youngling replied with a small smile.
The group split up in two. Hunter went on his own to look ahead.
Spyro took a good look at his surroundings. It was still as beautiful as the previous realm.
Midday Gardens was a large field with mountains on one side and a large forest on the other side. The place where Spyro and his companions were had a large lake near them. There were a few houses around and a castle. The lake was connected with a river. The design made the purple dragon wondered how similar it was from his home. Still, it looked older and also used up. There was something a little unnerving around. The child didn't know why, but there was something a little ominous.
They quickly found an egg and saved it.
"That was easy," the purple one commented.
"Don't say that. It will go bad if you comment something like that," Zoe warned him.
"Right. I guess the portals might not all be active right now," Spyro commented.
Sparx buzzed that they should keep moving.
They began to investigate their side. They encountered a few troubles. A few Rhynocs were in the way, but the youngling quickly took care of them. His speed and his fire breathing ability pushed the problems away.
Spyro had been hit by one of them and sent in the air. He rolled on the ground and avoided a hammer coming at him. He quickly torched him. Once they were dealt with, he panted, "They are tougher than before," he closed his eyes and took back his health, "They aren't like those we crossed path with."
"We are closer to The Sorceress realm," the fairy gazed at the central castle. She flew higher to take a good look at it. It was still far away, but she could see the large castle.
Sparx flew with her and looked away. He found the castle tiny right now, but was well aware of how gigantic the castle might be. They flew down and joined the purple dragon.
Zoe went on, "It will be difficult from here. The Sorceress knows we are here and she surely wants to get rid of us," she tapped her hand with her wand.
The youngling nodded as he went forward, "I'll be careful," he looked forward and jumped on a small hill. He wondered if Flame was also around and might be fighting the Rhynocs. He just hoped that he wouldn't end up fighting the young red dragon. He crossed his paws and hoped down, continuing on his journey to save the dragon eggs.
The trio continued the exploration of the realm. They looked around if there was anyone who needed help. The purple dragon accelerated his pace, searching for an egg. They took care of another Rhynocs and continued forward.
"Spyro!" a voice came on their left.
They turned around and saw Emilie, the human who practiced magic came towards them. She adjusted her hood as it felt from her face, "What are you doing here already?"
"We pretty much found all the eggs we could, so I came here to help," the purple dragon replied.
"Sheila stayed behind and search for more eggs, just in case we missed some," Zoe explained.
Sparx lands on the horn of his friend and buzzed a few things.
"Sparx wondered if you found a few eggs here?" the purple dragon asked.
"We did find one or two. We haven't been that lucky yet. They are on high alert," she replied.
"Yeah. The Rhynocs are nasty here," Spyro admitted.
Emilie remembered something, "Oh yeah. Spyro, we got an important message for you. Greta told me that Agent Zero was with your dads."
"My dads… Agent Zero is at Dragon Realm?" the purple dragon asked confused. He lightly tilted his head.
"No. They are here. They were on the realm where we met with Sheila."
"My dads are here," the youngling whispered with a bit of relief. He wasn't expecting it, but knowing they came here was really encouraging him.
Sparx buzzed about what was the message.
"My friend wants to know what is the message."
"Right. You dads want you to stay put," she kneeled down, "They want you to stay here into they come here."
"I can't. My siblings need help and I cannot just stay behind. I'm a hero and they cannot wait," he replied.
Emilie sighed, but gave an understanding smile, "Listen. I'll give you this," she took out a strange earplug and attached it on Spyro, "When you want to talk to the other humans, you press on it. Your dads will be after you, but this will allow them to join you, even if you move around. I'm sure Agent Zero will stay with them."
"Wait. You got another one?" Zoe asked.
"We all have an extra one. This isn't a short mission and we have to be ready for replacements. Anyway, Handel and Greta are searching for more eggs. They put them somewhere the Rhynocs cannot reach," she explained.
"I'll try it," Spyro pressed on something and asked, "Agent… Zero?"
"Who's there?" the man replied.
"It works!" he pressed on it once again, "It's Spyro. Emilie gave one of those things that let us talk together."
"Where are you? Your fathers want to know about it."
"I'm at the Middway Garden. Once I'm done, I'll take a portal and go on to save my siblings. I'll also tell you which portal I take," the purple dragon replied.
"Your fathers want you to stay put. Even if I know you are a warrior," the human replied.
That boosted the ego, but subconsciously made him want to accept what he said. Still, the thought of his brothers and sisters in danger brought him back to reality, "Sorry. I have to save them. Tell my dads that I'm sorry, but they can't wait," he ended communication.
"I've told them Spyro and they are not happy."
"I'll be really hurt if The Sorceress got any of my siblings for evil purpose," Spyro replied.
"They really want to find you now. Angry and worried. Agent Zero out."
"Out?"
"That means that the communication is over," she replied.
Zoe nodded, "It's easy to know when it's over and we can go around."
Sparx suggested his best friend to remember that.
"That's really easy," the purple dragon replied with a smile.
Emilie nodded, "I should be on the move now. I have to help you with the others. I also heard that one of our allies is imprisoned somewhere in this realm."
"Then we also-"
"Spyro?" the voice of a girl asked.
"Greta?" he replied.
Emilie did the same and listened.
"Your voice sounded a little weird," she didn't sound like she wanted to make a joke.
"What is it?"
"I lost my brother sight. I don't know where he is. I called him, but he didn't answer me. I've been captured by the enemies. Last time I saw my brother, he was in Spooky Swamp," she replied.
"Where are you?" the youngling asked.
"I'm in another realm. Don't know where," she replied. She coughed once, "Anyway. Just find my idiot brother and make sure he's okay."
The purple dragon wondered if she was in bigger danger than not. The two might be in danger at the same time.
The woman spoke, "Greta. I'll try to find out where you are so we can help you. Spyro will search your brother over. Go."
The purple dragon nodded, "Okay. Let's go," he told Sparx and Zoe as they searched for the portal.
He heard Emilie last words through the thing in his ear, "Agent Zero. Spyro is heading to the Spooky Swamp."
"Understood over." the man replied.
The trio found the portal stopped for a few seconds. He looked at them before they decided to jump in.
Meanwhile, the ten adult dragons and the human prepared to leave.
Nestor was on the side and closed his hands furiously, "That little rascal! We told him to wait."
"Tomas little speech about big brother duty sure gave him that idea," Bubba commented, remembering the youngling telling him the same.
"Tomas will learn a little lesson," the carpenter darkly said as his eyes shined with ominous crimson light.
The others gazed at each other.
"Anyway, we should go to the other realm and find the Spooky Swamp," Thor remembered the green dragon.
"I wonder if it's still live up to its name," Astor grumbled as he remembered a little about it.
"You should all go," Sheila told them as she prepared to go, "I'll continue looking for eggs around here. Maybe they are all saved, but we can't be sure."
Zantor adjusted his hat, "Right. My magic is at its peak. We shouldn't waste time."
"Who knows how long before Spyro go somewhere else," Magnus grumbled.
Flame gazed at them and at Sheila, "Mom. I'll go with them. I'll save them all."
"You should stay here. Sheila already said it will be more dangerous forward," Bubba reminded the youngling.
"No. I have to fight them. They want to do something horrible with them. I don't know what, but I won't let them do it. If me and Spyro are the only survivor… Then the others had something horrible happened to them," the youngling red dragon insisted.
The dragons were quiet. They couldn't find counter arguments.
"Go Flame," the kangaroo told him as she pat his head, "I can't stop you anyway," she admitted before giving them an apologetically smile.
Nestor, as the leader of the Artisan Dragon had to take a decision. He crossed his arms, as the young dragon was also one of them, "Fine, but stay close to us," he warned him as he gently pressed his claw on the snout of the almost teenager dragon.
"Okay," he nodded with little hint of doing on their own.
"He isn't Spyro," Astor commented.
"Let's go," Bruno said as he opened his wings.
Magnus grabbed the human as they flew towards the other realm.
AC: This is the end of this chapter. Hope you enjoyed it.
Next: The Beast Of The Swamp.
Spyro and his friends searched for Handel, but met a powerful beast. The battle was much harder than he thought.
