I don't own Digimon.

Well guys here's the next chapter of DLA. It's a little on the shorter side because this chapter primarily focuses on Lynn and her partner's battle against MetalTyrannomon. The next chapter will focus on Lincoln and Veemon vs Datamon. And after that we will go to the start of Lori's team's battle against LadyDevimon and her forces. That one will be a little longer because its gonna be a much larger scale in terms of battle. Hopefully you will all like it.

I just posted a new story that I've been working on called "Terms of A Dress", a Nikkicoln story that I hope will be entertaining. I want to thank Siege for helping me come up with the title and to whoever drew the picture that I used for the cover. I will find out who drew it and thank them personally. So once you're done reading this please go and check out that story and give it some love. If the first chapter of that story can reach ten reviews then I will post the next chapter early since I have that story all ready done to its completion.

In other news, we are nearing the end of the first major arc of File Island. I know that I've been saying that months, at least it feels like that to me. But I'm excited to finally be done with that. It's the first big milestone of this story and it feels like the end of season one. And the next season will be even more epic. I have so much planned in terms of story and character development with plots and twists that will leave you on the edge of your seat! Lol, at least I hope so.

I just want to say thank you all for all of the support that this story has gotten. Its been a long ride and I've enjoyed every minute of it. And I hope that you will all continue to come along with me until the end.

Now onto the chapter.

The Digi-Loud Adventure

Chapter 58: The Ultimate(s) Battle

Lincoln had shielded Lynn's body with his own, hoping that by some miracle he would be able to sacrifice himself to save his sister. But in a flash, there was an explosion and a flash of light and the ground shook, knocking them both prone. And when Lincoln opened his eyes, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Gone was Growlmon, the near two story tall red dinosaur that he had known. In his place, crouching down to shield them all with his bladed arm, was a large red armored Digimon. The large Digimon looked like an enlarged Growlmon, if that was possible, and his torso and arms had been outfitted with metallic upgrades. Both arms were covered in armor and had matching blades on the outer part of his forearms. He wore chest plate armor with a hazard symbol on his chest and a gun muzzle on either side of it. His jaw was covered in the same metal armor that the rest of his body had. And attached to his back armor was a long extendable tail like cable that had a sharp tip. The Digimon before them was easily a match in size to MetalTyrannomon and as the new Digimon looked up to face their enemy, his eyes flashed with anger.

"You'll pay for that." The new Digimon growled.

"Lynn, are you okay?" Lincoln asked as he moved his sister away from the Digimon's path.

"Is that...Growlmon?" Lynn asked as she stared up at her partner. She knew that it was him, but she also couldn't believe it. During the brief moment where she thought she was going to die in her brother's arms, she felt a sudden spark and then pull deep within her. Her energy spiked and then was drained away and it was channeled through her bond with Growlmon. She knew that this was her partner's new Digivolution but she still had trouble believing it. He looked awesome!

"He is Growlmon no more." Centarumon said, startling the two siblings as they had forgotten that he was there with them. "That is WarGrowlmon now."

"Whatever he is, he looks awesome!" Lynn said. She could feel his power through their bond, making her feel more than confident that they could finally win this battle. She felt her body brimming with energy and she felt like she was vibrating. "WarGrowlmon! Kick his fucking ass!"

With a nod, WarGrowlmon roared as he charged. His thundering steps breaking the silence that had momentarily taken over the battlefield. Seeing his opponent charge at him, MetalTyrannomon growled as he braced himself for the impact.

"Lynn, come on, we need to go." Lincoln said but Lynn shook her head.

"No, I can't leave him now." Lynn turned towards her brother. She felt it in her chest, she couldn't leave him to fight this battle alone. "He needs me here. I can feel it."

Lincoln wanted to argue but the look in his sister's eyes made him pause. It went against the plan but he guessed that plans always did change. "Fine. But be careful, I don't want to come back only to find out that I lost you."

Lynn leaned in and captured his lips in a quick kiss. "I just got you, Lincoln, and I'm not gonna lose you just yet. Face it, you're stuck with me for the long haul."

Lincoln grinned as he waved his partner down. "I love you."

"And I love you more."

Lynn watched as her brother got picked up by ExVeemon and they left with Centarumon leading the way. Knowing that he would be okay, Lynn turned her attention back towards her partner, who had pushed MetalTyrannomon back several dozen yards with his initial charge.

MetalTyrannomon was pushed back farther than he anticipated, this newly evolved Digimon was indeed strong. But he would soon come to learn that there was more to winning a fight than just Digivolving to the next level.

As soon as they came to a stop, MetalTyrannomon pulled his head back and he brought it down on WarGrowlmon's snout, hitting him as hard as he could. The new Ultimate cried out in pain as he stumbled backwards. Then MetalTyrannomon took a step towards him and delivered a powerful punch to WarGrowlmon's gut, knocking the wind out of him and causing him to fall to one knee.

During that brief exchange, Lynn was shocked to find that when her partner was headbutted in the nose, she felt as if she had been struck in the nose as well. She stumbled backwards just as WarGrowlmon had and she could feel the warm trickle of blood coming down her nose. And before she could contemplate what was going on, she felt the wind get knocked out of her and she fell to one knee from the intense pain that she felt. Through the pain, she looked up to see her partner in a similar state as her and she recalled when Jijimon had explained that her bond with her partner would continue to grow until they could fight as one. She guessed that this was what he had meant, his pain would be her pain. And she wondered if her strength could also be his?

There was only one way to find out, and with an angry shout, Lynn moved to stand up with an uppercut, visualizing herself striking that asshole in the chin. And to her amazement, at the exact same time, WarGrowlmon lunged to his feet, striking MetalTyrannomon in the chin with an uppercut. She watched as her partner growled at their enemy, angry that he had hurt her. It seemed like he was aware that whatever he felt, she would too.

Lynn could feel her partner's anger, his rage boiling just beneath the surface. And she was oh so very tempted to just lose herself in that rage. She could feel his power, it was almost intoxicating, she could feel the overwhelming might that her partner had. But before she could crossover to that other side, an image of her brother flashed in her mind and she stopped herself. Taking a deep calming breath, she knew that the best way to win this fight would be to use her head, not her anger. Forcing herself to calm herself, she spoke aloud, instinctually knowing that her partner could hear her every word.

"Alright WarGrowlmon...let's take this asshole apart..." She said.

With a nod, WarGrowlmon mimicked her fighting stance and he readied himself to fight. MetalTyrannomon quickly recovered from that low and he looked impressed. Seeing the red Digimon stand in a fighting stance, MetalTyrannomon laughed.

"Do you honestly believe that some silly martial arts are enough to stand up against me?"

And to prove his point, the Ultimate Digimon lunged forward, aiming a claw strike to WarGrowlmon but at the last second he spun around and slammed his tail into the red Digimon's unprotected side. Then he followed up with a double hammer from above, bringing his arms down on WarGrowlmon's head. The blow was strong enough to knock WarGrowlmon down into the dirt. MetalTyrannomon brought his left foot up and stomped down on red Digimon's back. Both Lynn and WarGrowlmon cried out in pain, each feeling the blow as if it had struck them.

Rearing his leg back, MetalTyrannomon swung it forward and it connected with WarGrowlmon's ribs. Lynn, who was on fours, coughed out blood from the force of the blow. She felt as if her ribs had been hit by a bus and she was sure that at least one of them was broken.

"Did you think that just because you Digivolved to the Ultimate Level that you'd be a match for me?" MetalTyrannomon asked.

He reached down and pulled WarGrowlmon up to his feet by his white hair, making them both cry out in pain. Still gripping WarGrowlmon's hair, MetalTyrannomon brought his knee up into his ribs, striking him once, twice, three times before he tossed WarGrowlmon to the ground. Lynn laid sprawled on the floor, her body in agony as she felt each blow that her partner did. Blood was dripping down her chin from coughing it out. WarGrowlmon was designed to take those kinds of blows but she wasn't, at least not from an Ultimate level Digimon that could crush her like an ant. But as she lay on her stomach, she could still feel the fight within her partner. She could feel that WarGrowlmon wasn't done yet and neither was she! Pushing past the pain, Lynn forced her body to move, pushing past her limits to rise up.

"I'm still more powerful than you!" MetalTyrannomon delivered a claw strike from the left. "I'm more experienced than you!" He delivered another from the right. "You're still green compared to me, you insolent brat!"

He raised both arms up again to drive the red Digimon into the dirt where he belonged but to his surprise, WarGrowlmon brought his arms up and caught MetalTyrannomon's wrists. With a mighty shout, Lynn rose at the same time that WarGrowlmon did and they caught the bastard's wrist before they could be hit once more.

"You sound like a bitch!" WarGrowlmon and Lynn said together. They were completely in sync now, Lynn threw her arms apart and WarGrowlmon did the same to MetalTyrannomon's arms, opening him up to their next attack. "Just shut the hell up and fight me!"

Lynn threw her fist forward, aiming to punch through MetalTyrannomon's chest and WarGrowlmon did the same, drilling his armored claw into the metal chest plate of his enemy. MetalTyrannomon had the wind knocked out of him and to his displeasure, WarGrowlmon wasn't done. With a series of quick jabs, Lynn shadow boxed her blows, giving WarGrowlmon her experienced precision on where to target MetalTyrannomon. Each blow was targeted to a specific body part, each attack was wasted not as Lynn believed in fighting like an efficient machine.

Like a machine gun, WarGrowlmon continued to drill into MetalTyrannomon's body, tearing him down piece by piece. The Ultimate tried to defend himself, raising his arms and attempting to block. But Lynn wasn't having it, she would step within his guard, half crouching beneath his guard and she would watch as WarGrowlmon delivered a low blow to his ribs.

It was obvious that MetalTyrannomon had never faced an opponent like Lynn before. In the Digital World, power reigned supreme. It was the law of the land and things like skill and technique held no sway in combat. And yet, MetalTyrannomon was being outclassed by some upstart rookie prick of an Ultimate!

With an angry roar, the metal Tyrannosaurus launched himself to the side, rolling away from the onslaught of blows that he had been enduring. With the newly gained distance, he aimed his left hand at his opponent and fired a powerful laser blast at him. WarGrowlmon grunted as he braced himself for the attack, growling in pain as he felt himself take damage. And Lynn wasn't spared the pain as she almost bit her tongue as she tried to not scream. She didn't want to show weakness during the battle.

"You upstart little shit! I'm gonna kill you!" MetalTyrannomon shouted as he aimed his right hand towards WarGrowlmon. "Giga Destroyer!"

A missile was launched from MetalTyrannomon's hand and it sped like a rocket towards WarGrowlmon. He knew that it was his enemy's strongest attack and he also didn't want to think about how much it would hurt Lynn if he let himself get struck by the attack. Moving on his own, WarGrowlmon's right arm began to glow and he propelled himself forward using his boosters on the back of his armor. With surprising speed, he slashed through the missile and continued towards MetalTyrannomon, this time his left arm beginning to glow. The missile was sliced cleanly in half and it split in two, both pieces veering off to the sides and exploding harmlessly away from him.

"You're not hurting my friends anymore! Radiation Blade!"

WarGrowlmon swung his left arm towards his enemy, intending on finishing him off once and for all. MetalTyrannomon tried to block the attack with his arms but to his horror, WarGrowlmon's attack cut through his own armor. The blade sank into his chest and he was pushed backwards as WarGrowlmon's boosters fired up again, sending them both towards the outerwall of the town. With a loud crash of scraping metal and tumbling concrete, both Digimon were engulfed in a column of dust and smoke.

The Digimon still outside and Lynn all waited with held breath as they watched to see which Digimon would emerge victorious. And to their joy, WarGrowlmon came out of the hole in the wall, spreading his arms to the side as he roared victoriously to the sky above, proclaiming his victory.

And at the moment, Lynn could feel herself sharing in her partner's joy at having defeated a powerful enemy. It was a thrill that she had never experienced before, a high that was unlike any other that she had ever had save for being intimate with her brother. It was similar to how she felt like when she first did it with Lincoln but it was different enough that she could tell the difference. And she understood why Digimon liked to fight so much, it was almost addicting how good it felt to defeat your enemies in a life and death battle.

But before she could celebrate, she still had to go to her brother's side. And as she turned towards the entrance of Factorial Town, she heard an explosion go off and she felt a sudden grip of dread in her chest.

"Oh god, no!"

End of chapter.
