Jennifer Baratta - Thanks!
"Are you serious?" Kara asked as she entered Lena's office.
"Good afternoon to you too." Lena replied.
"How could you?"
"How could I what?" Lena asked looking up.
"Make me go to this." Kara said putting a piece of paper on the desk.
"It's not just for you. It is for everyone."
"But me?" Kara asked still in disbelief.
"Are you an employee of CatCo?" Lena countered.
"Well yes."
"Then it's for you as well."
"So it's mandatory." Kara asked.
"Yes." Lena confirmed.
"But you know how much I hate HR seminars."
"So you want me to play favourites?"
"No. Of course not. But you could, I don't know, not make it compulsory for me."
"That would be playing favourites." Lena smiled.
"But you know I have to keep doing DEO seminars. Why do I have to do this as well?"
"Firstly, no one knows you do the DEO ones so we can't use it an excuse. Secondly, the DEO have not sent you on a conflict management course. Which if I may add, does seem like an oversight."
"After all the mediation I did between Alex and Eliza I don't need any more conflict management training."
"It can't hurt to brush up." Lena countered.
"So I have to go?" Kara asked.
"You have to go." Lena nodded.
"This is so unfair." Kara muttered.
"Look on the bright side. You may learn something that you can use with Landon." Lena pointed out.

"Okay, what should we put down?" Alex asked as she sat opposite Lena later that evening.
"Why am I doing your homework?"
"It's not my homework. It's Kara's. And Kara is upset that you are making her do an HR course. Besides you have a more twisted mind than most so you are an ideal person to help lay a trap without getting Kara committed to the psych ward." Alex said.
"I'm going to take that as a compliment." Lena replied before pointing out. "You could just let Kara put down her her actual thoughts and see what Landon does."
"It's too dangerous. If it leaks can you imagine the damage it will do?"
"Kara has already written it in CatCo Magazine." Lena countered.
"As Kara. If people find out Supergirl is saying that it won't look good."
"You are assuming Landon will leak it." Lena said.
"It would be the easiest way to harpoon Kara."
"You could let her write the truth, but have her deny it as a trap if it does get leaked." Lena countered. "Or you could just redact anything really dubious."
"Why aren't you supporting us more on this?" Alex asked.
"How many plans have backfired?" Lena asked. "Or maybe an easier question to answer, how many have succeeded?"
"Well none, yet. But it is only a matter of time."
"Why don't you let this run its course. If he responds to Kara opening up by messing with her you have the proof you need to remove him."
"What if he does irreparable damage before that happens?" Alex asked.
"He won't. You'll be there."
"It's too...unless." Alex said getting an idea.
"Unless what?" Lena asked.
"We get J'onn to switch for Kara."
"What happened to no tricks?" Lena asked.
"That was your plan." Alex countered. "Besides this way we protect Kara."
"So you are going to let Kara write her thoughts down?" Lena asked.
"Yes." Alex said. "But maybe with some redaction."
"Well good luck, she still owes CatCo two articles." Lena pointed out.

"Something happen?" Maggie asked as Kara got in the car.
"I have to go to another HR seminar."
"What did you two do this time?" Maggie questioned.
"Nothing. This is a CatCo one. And Lena won't let me get out of it."
"You want her to play favourites?"
"No. Not exactly. Well yeah."
"She can't do that." Maggie pointed out.
"So she said."
"What's it on?" Maggie asked.
"Conflict Management."
"That could be good for Supergirl as well." Maggie said.
"You think?"
"Sure, I mean wouldn't you prefer to resolve issues without using your fist?"
"Well, yes." Kara conceded.
"So maybe you will learn something you can use." Maggie suggested.
"Maybe." Kara replied unconvinced before perking up and asking. "Do you think I could go on proper negotiator training?"
"Proper negotiator training?" Maggie asked.
"Yes. I mean I could watch The Negotiator, which is a great film, but real training would be so much better. Do you think your Captain could help?"
"My Captain?" Maggie asked getting a sinking feeling.
"Yes, I mean he must put people on it. Would he put Supergirl on it?" Kara asked.
"I..."
"How would Supergirl go about getting an appointment with him? Or should I go straight to the Commissioner?"
"The Commissioner?" Maggie asked nearly crashing the car.
"He can get things done. Don't worry I will give you full credit."
"For what?" Maggie asked.
"You kept saying I need to work with the police not over them. Maybe I will get a badge."
"I don't think so." Maggie said foreseeing her life getting much more stressful.
"Can you imagine how cool it would be if I got to be the one to arrest Landon?" Kara asked getting more excited.
"Perhaps you should just focus on your conflict management course first?" Maggie asked wondering how she could distract Kara from her current goal.

"Did you do this deliberately?" Maggie asked Lena as she entered her office.
"Do what?" Lena asked looking confused. "Actually before we get into that, if I barged into your police station what would happen?"
"Being a Luthor you would probably be shot, well maybe tasered."
"Yet you can barge into my office anytime without punishment." Lena replied. "And without a warrant no less."
"You want me to get a warrant?" Maggie asked.
"At least that way I would have some idea on why you are barging into my office."
"Don't play innocent with me."
"I'm not playing anything. What exactly are you accusing me off?" Lena asked.
"You are sending Kara on a Conflict Management course."
"CatCo is." Lena said. "I would have thought that you would support that."
"I do, I did, until Kara went from that to suggesting getting the commissioner to let her go on negotiator training and giving her a badge."
"That is an impressive leap." Lena agreed.
"So impressive I am guessing she had help making that leap." Maggie said.
"I am sure she did." Lena said. "In fact I know where that help came from."
"So you are confessing?"
"I wouldn't call it confessing. But I am agreeing with you. The funny thing is, the person you want to point the finger at is not me at all. It's you."
"Me?" Maggie asked.
"You said Supergirl should work with the police. She is trying to follow your advice."
"With, not become." Maggie said.
"Supergirl with a badge would be a great PR stunt." Lena said. "Perhaps I will mention it to the Commissioner when I see him. It would make a fantastic cover for CatCo as well, really boost sales. Thank you Maggie, this is just the boost that CatCo needs."
