Chapter 35

(Kenzie's POV)

Today was a new day, and we were still waiting for Aribelle to wake up from her dead sleep. Seriously that girl can sleep through a fire. Which happened before, luckily our brother Remy whose also her twin was there to teleport her out of that situation.

Seth and Leah were downstairs feeding the twins, while we all waited for Belle to wake up. I was sitting in the chair next to the bed Belle was sleeping in, reading memories of a geisha. When dad walked into the room, he glanced over at me and asked me if Belle had made any signs of waking up, I told him no. Dad nodded and took the chair on the other side of the bed.

"Kenzie how old are you, and Belle?"

"I'm twenty-two years old, and Belle is one-hundred-seventy-two years old."

He looked surprised at the age difference, I could tell dad wanted to ask me something else, but I guess he was debating on whether he should ask me or not, but he soon started to speak up, "How many siblings do you have?"

"I have seven siblings, but one of them was killed at birth by a vampire who went after mom, he was the twin brother to Amira, his name was Alexander. Amira however doesn't know this, I think that's also one of the reasons she acts out, she probably knows something is missing but doesn't know what it is." I told him sadly trying not to cry at the thought of not only losing my baby brother but also my mother. I mean mom technically isn't dead, but in a deep slumber, we tried everything to wake her up, but nothing has worked, not even a true love's kiss which was the stupidest idea anyone could produce. It just became too much on everyone Grandma and Grandpa lost the child that is a product of their love, my aunts, and uncles lost their beloved sibling, dad lost his soulmate, my cousin Nessie lost her only mother figure, and my siblings, and I lost our mother/hero.

I was so deep in thought that I didn't even realize my dad was calling me trying to get my attention. I was brought out my thoughts, by a hand being gently placed on my shoulder, which turned out to my father. "Kenzie, are you okay, I can feel the sadness coming off you."

"No, I'm not okay, none of this is okay. We shouldn't even be in this time, but somehow, I feel like Amira, Belle, Callie, and I all needed this."

"McKenzie, what are you telling your mother and me?"

"I can't tell you; I think Belle should tell you guys since she's the oldest."

"Okay, but I can feel your emotions, and it feels like you're about to burst, you need to let go of your pain and sadness. It's not healthy for you to keep it bottled in. How about when Belle wakes up you and I spend some time together okay."

I gazed at him and gently showed him a smile.

My book was on my lap long forgotten because of my father and I conversing with one another we stopped talking when we heard the groaning sounds coming from the bed beside us. Our gazes locked on to the bed, I stood up and walked over to the bed staring at belle whose eyes began to flutter and then open slowly.

"Finally, your awake sleeping beauty, I was beginning to worry about you," I told her honestly.

She glared at me when she heard the word sleeping beauty, which did not bother me because none of us liked to be compared to Amira Aurora Hale/Whitlock the little 2-year-old who got us stuck in 2006.

"Don't call me Sleeping beauty bitch. How long have I have been asleep? And where are my babies?"

"Aribelle language," Dad told her with a stern voice.

I decided to ignore the fact that she called me a bitch. "Well, you've been asleep for twelve hours, and your imprint and his sister have the twins. They are downstairs feeding them right now. So, if you will kindly get your ass up and go downstairs and show them, you're all right that would be great."

"Actually, the babies finished feeding thirties minutes ago. Right now, they're outside with Leah and Seth." Dad told us while watching Aribelle push the sheets off her, bringing her legs to the side of the bed, and standing up. Lifting lifted her arms in the air and started to stretch the sound of her bones cracking was loud.

I waltzed out of the room, motioning her to follow me. "So, where's mom? "She asked both of us softly.

"I think mom is in the training room with Jackson training."

"McKenzie you really need to pay attention to your surroundings, your mother actually just finished having an interesting conversation with your Aunt Maddie, which is going to cause me to have to speak to your mother later on." He told both of us with his poker face on. This meant that the conversation mom was having was something that he knew nothing about, and he was mad, or he's debating on whether he should be furious at her or not and that wasn't a good sign.

"Let me guess, she's talking about her ex-Dwayne, and you knew nothing about him?" Ari asked him. Both of us looked at her like she was a mind reader and psychic of the family. I mean how could she know that.

"Yes, and how did you figure that out? Aribelle are you psychic and or a mind reader?"

"No, I'm not a mind reader or psychic, I'm just really good at reading people, and I also saw the face you make several times Dwayne is mentioned even when I was born you didn't like him, seeing as he was your mate's ex imprint."

The three of us made our way outside to the backyard and saw Seth and Leah with their backs turned to us. So, they did not see that Aribelle was outside with us.
"Hey guys, guess who's finally awake," I told them.

Leah turned her body first to face us and softly smiled at us.

Then there was Seth whose head slowly turned like in one of those romantic comedy movies and just stared at Belle for like five minutes.

I turned to Belle and saw her staring at him too, I guess seeing his fourteen or fifteen-year-old self is shocking.

I bet he did not see that coming from a mile away. It was quiet, so quiet that you could hear a pin drop, or in this case, the babies cooing in the background and dad making a loud attempt of cough trying to draw their gaze away from one another. This was funny because he could feel their emotions, and dad had a facial expression of angrier mixed with uneasiness.

The silence was finally broken by Leah which dad was grateful for, "Aribelle, it's finally nice to meet my brother's future imprint. As you probably know my name is Leah and your future sister-in-law." Leah told her kindly while wrapping one arm around her, while the other arm was around Mateo.

Belle wrapped her arms around both Leah and Mateo hugging them back and said, "Hi Leah, it's great to see you again, thanks for helping taking care of the twins while I was sleeping."

"It was no problem; I love my future nephew and niece."

At that moment dad decided to leave. I assume he was going to go tell mom that Aribelle was awake, or maybe he noticed Jackson sneaking off into the woods like I did and was planning to follow him. Who knows...?

"Hi, Aribelle," Seth says with one of his biggest smiles showing on his face.

"Hi, Seth." She replied breathlessly with a smile showing on her face also.

"It's been so long since I've seen both you and Leah's hair so short. Leah and you decided to grow your hair. And you're both so young, I mean you don't look older in the future, but wow it's been so long since I've seen you looking so youthful. I guess the stress of life hasn't hit you both yet." She said, which led me to let out a loud laugh.

"Thanks, I guess, but you look gorgeous, but what should I expect since you are related to crystal."

"Technically McKenzie looks like Crystal, while Aribelle has a mixture between both parents, I wonder what Aribelle twin looks like though," Leah tells the three of us.

"Well, he's my fraternal twin, he has brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. One of his abilities is teleporting. He acts like a child but can become extremely serious when it's necessary." Ari tells them.

Before anyone else could say something, Mateo let out a cry which led his sister Malia to let out a cry of her own. Belle quickly took Mateo out of Leah's hands and started to rock him back and forth until he calmed down, then placed Mateo back in Leah's hands and then took a hold of Malia who was in the arms of her father and did the same thing she did with Mateo with her.

Aribelle was in her natural state holding and rocking both babies, I mean she did help mom and dad raised us.

"Well how about we all go inside and watch a movie, Damien has a home theater in the attic for some reason."I told them. I mean who has a home theater in the attic. Well, I guess Damien would be considered the person who has a home theater in the attic.

"Sure, let's put the babies, in the bassinet that Maddie bought. Jasper put it together., I think."

So, we all walked into the house to enjoy a nice movie.

End of pov.
