Lin Yie hesitantly lifted his foot up. If he remembered correctly, the thief he was chasing shouldn't be a woman. Now that he was taking a closer look, the person under his foot had a narrower frame and was wearing black stockings, not pants. Uh...
The girl he stomped on jumps up in anger. She glares at him, "Bastard, you attacked a cop. You must die today!"
She's a cop?!
This blonde is a cop?!
"I'm really really sorry." Lin Yie raises his hands in surrender, "I was chasing a thief."
"If an apology was enough, what's the fucking point of having police?!"
She seems determined to take Lin Yie down, but when she goes through her handbag, she curses, "Fuck! I forgot my weapon. Otherwise, I would have killed you right here."
For some reason, Lin Yie couldn't help but feel her swearing is somewhat endearing.
Makeups, pads... Swire checks her bag again, but she can't find anything that can be used as a weapon. She throws her handbag on the ground in frustration, "Tsk. I don't need a weapon to deal with you. Before I beat you senseless, remember my name, Lungmen Guard Department's senior officer Swire! Don't forget it when you're in jail!"
"M-M-Maam," Lin Yie stutters, "I-I really was chasing a thief."
"I know you're his accomplice!" Swire runs toward Lin Yie, but after a few steps, she almost twists her ankles. She kicks her boots off and runs toward Lin Yie in her black stockings instead.
Lin Yie doesn't know what to do. If he tried resisting now, that would really be attacking a police officer, so no sword or anything that would pose a threat. All he can do is cover up his private parts and take the beating in silence.
Swire looks fragile, but her strength says otherwise. Whenever she kicks Lin Yie, Lin Yie felt his bones rattle.
"Maam! Spare me please!" Lin Yie begged, still trying to resolve the misunderstanding, "This really is a misunderstanding! I'm not a thief. I thought you were the thief I was chasing!"
"Tell that to the judge later, bastard!" Swire doesn't stop beating Lin Yie, "I'm not blind! I'm a senior police officer, and you thought I was the thief?!"
Lin Yie doesn't know what to tell her, but he is not going to wait any longer. This Swire doesn't know how to hold back. He doesn't want to die here, so when Swire is winding up for another kick, he suddenly hugs her thigh.
The plan was to take Swire down first, but the reality is, Lin Yie couldn't even hold her still.
Swire snickers, "Bastard, an amateur like you can't fight for shit!" As she aims her fist at his head, she shouts, "Eat this!"
Lin Yie suddenly remembers something. He shouts, "Wait! I know Chen Sir!"
Swire pauses, "Ha, you know Chen?"
"Yes. Yes. Yes." Lin Yie nods quickly, "I know Chen Sir, and we have a really good relationship."
Chen works for the LGD. These two should know each other, right? Otherwise, she wouldn't have stopped after hearing Chen's name.
But...
Swire punches Lin Yie all the same.
"Dumbass." Swire spits as she looks at Lin Yie, who is squirming on the ground in pain, "All the criminals know her. Tsk. How well do you know her anyway? Did she throw you in jail personally? Does that count?"
Lin Yie watches Swire walking toward him nonchalantly. He knows she's not letting him go.
"I'm not lying. Chen Sir and I are friends!"
"Pfft."
"It's true!" Lin Yie tries telling her that he treated Chen's insomnia, but getting caught up in the moment, his anxiety made him speak the first words that came to mind, "I slept with Madam Chen!"
Swire stops in her tracks. She stares at him in surprise, but her expression changes into a grin, "Really?"
She picks up Lin Yie with one hand, "I'll bring you to her."
Fuck!

One hour later in the LGD...
This was Lin Yie's first time being brought to a police station like a criminal.
He keeps his head down with his hands cuffed behind his back, while Swire's loud voice echoes in the office.
"What?! This bastard isn't his accomplice? Are you sure he wasn't lying?"
"Did I get the wrong guy? That's not possible! Do you think I got this position through my connections?"
"Even if he's not a thief, he's definitely not a good person! Otherwise, he wouldn't have attacked a cop! And look at his sword. What kind of good person can he be?!"
"What? Can't you see the footprint on my back?!"
"That thief looks like me? That's not possible! Bring me there. I'll see for myself."

Ten minutes later, Swire was back.
"I can't believe it. You really aren't the thief." Swire says, "That thief looks completely different from me, alright! My clothes and my accessories are branded. He wears the cheap shit. Are you blind?!"
Lin Yie's mouth twitches, "Who the fuck can tell you apart?"
"Tsk. Stupid." Swire shakes her head, "That's why you men... Anyway, you did attack me, but since you didn't fight back, I won't count that against you. Tsk."
Lin Yie doesn't say anything. He's actually very nervous.
"Alright. That's it for now." Swire says, "I'll remove your cuffs. Go get your injuries checked in the infirmary. I shouldn't have broken any bones."
Lin Yie nods, and Swire unlocks his cuffs.
Suddenly, the door is slammed open.
Swire and Lin Yie turn their heads and see Chen walking toward them with a grim expression.
Chen smacks a desk, and it almost breaks in half.
"Hey, bitch!" Swire snarls, "What's wrong with you?!"
Chen and Swire were obviously of different races. If Chen was a dragon, then Swire was a tiger with a long, yellow tail.
"Swire!" Chen glares at Swire, "That's what I should ask you. What the fuck is wrong with your head?!"
"What do you mean?!"
"Why did you slander me?" Chen grits her teeth, "You messaged everyone about how you caught my boyfriend. What the fuck was that?!"
Swire pauses. Her angry look morphing into a smug grin.
"I wasn't lying." Swire shrugs, "That bastard, no, that samaritan told me that."
Chen frowns and turns towards Lin Yie.
"Dr. Lin?" Chen pauses, finally noticing Lin Yie's existence, "What are you doing here?"
"What?! You really know each other!" Swire yells excitedly.
"Shut the fuck up!"
"Bitch, who are you to tell me to shut up?!" Swire snarls.
And soon, the two are embroiled in endless bickering.
