"What has Alex done now?" J'onn asked as Landon entered J'onn's office looking flustered.

"Actually it is Kara, although Alex could be behind it, but she did seem as surprised as I was, so for once I think Alex might be an innocent party."

"Slow down." J'onn said calmly, while trying to finish his report. "What has happened?"

"I think Kara has been reading around the subject area and now she is self diagnosing and making assumptions about treatments."

"And this causes problems?" J'onn asked briefly looking up from his screen.

"Of course it causes problems." Landon said. "It is like when you search for a symptom on line and then get convinced you have cancer. Then you read some crackpot news sites and become convinced that you should eat clay for breakfast and not vaccinate your kids." He said just as Alex walked in.

"You don't believe in vaccinations?" Alex asked only hearing the tail end of the discussion. "Yet more proof you are not-"

"Of course I believe in vaccinations." Landon cut in.

"It's Kara who doesn't, apparently." J'onn said closing the laptop screen as he assumed he would not get any more work done.

"Kara is immune to everything." Alex pointed out. "Apart from Kryptonite." She then paused and looked at Landon. "Why are you trying to vaccinate Kara?"

"I'm not. I was just giving the Director and example of how dangerous online diagnosing can be."

"What's that got to do with Kara?"

"Everything. She came in assuming she new everything and made wild and unfounded assumptions."

"Oh I see. You didn't like Kara's approach to therapy?" Alex guessed.

"It was dangerous."

"Why? It's not like Kara only read one website. She read every book in the library as well as many online journal papers. You told her not to take TV at face value and be less trusting. One way of doing that is to do more research. If she chose to follow that approach and read up on this pseudo science what's the problem?"

"She's not qualified."

"So you are saying that despite reading every book on the subject as well as every published paper she could get her hands on, Kara's opinion is worthless?"

"It's the clinical experience that makes the difference."

"Kara has read more books and watched more TV than you could dream of. She has spent the last fourteen years trying to figure out what makes humans tick so she can fit in better. She has a lot more experience than you give her credit for."

"So you would entrust your therapy session to your sister despite the fact she has no real-world experience of therapy?" Landon asked.

"Is that you confessing that are sessions don't count as therapy?" Alex countered.

"That's not what I said."

"If you want to bring groundless accusations th-"

"Enough." J'onn said wearily from his desk.

"I'm sorry." Landon said.

"What exactly do you want to happen?" J'onn asked. "I mean what Kara does in her free time is up to her."

"Not according to Landon." Alex muttered.

"What does that mean?" Landon asked.

"You want her to chronicle and analyse every moment of her life so you can hear how miserable she is."

"That's not what I want." Landon said.

"What exactly do you want then? I mean surely you should be pleased that Kara is showing an interest."

"While that is a positive, what if she convinces herself that she has a condition and alters her behaviour."

"You keep telling her to alter her behaviour." Alex pointed out. "Are you just worried that Kara is going to debunk your methods?"

"There is nothing to debunk." Landon said.

"Then what's the issue?"

"I was trying to write a report." J'onn said interrupting the squabble once more. He then looked at Alex. "Tell Kara not to try running the sessions and remind her she isn't actually qualified."

"I'll try." Alex said, feeling like she had won.

"Landon complained to J'onn about you." Alex said to Kara that evening.

"What did I do?"

"Tried to out shrink him without qualifications."

"So I should sit an exam?"

"As such as I would love to see you turn up with more qualifications than him, if you did that he would just complain about lack of experience." Alex said.

"Okay, well that's easy enough to fix. I will start testing out my new knowledge."

"How?" Alex asked.

"First up, there is Simon. I mean he was a prisoner for years. He'll have deep rooted issues that need to be addressed." Kara said.

For a moment Alex tried to figure out if she was relived that Kara was going to practice on a sock rather than a person, or disturbed that she was still stalking to Simon. Before she could make up her mind though Kara went on.

"Then I will move onto Maggie."

"Maggie?" Alex asked.

"Maggie has been a bit stressed lately, perhaps she will want to talk about it on the ride."

"I don't think that is a good idea." Alex said.

"Why?"

"Um, well… It might change your relationship."

"For the better." Kara argued.

"Out of interest, out of all the books you read are there any surefire ways to help someone relax?" Alex asked, deciding to just change the subject.

"Depends on the person, but I can give you some ideas."

"That would be great." Alex said, assuming she would need to use this knowledge on Maggie.

As Maggie drove along debating whether to tell Kara that Supergirl was going to get negotiator training she saw Kara take out a notebook and pen.

"Bored of my company?" Maggie asked.

"Not at all. But I would like to discuss some things. But I need you to feel like this is a safe environment."

"Why wouldn't it be a safe environment?" Maggie asked.

"Exactly." Kara said causing Maggie to feel like it could be a long car ride.

"So what do you want to ask?" Maggie questioned.

"What is it that you want to achieve with this ride along?"

"To not get fired."

"You seem to think that lots of negative things are going to happen to you. Are those negative assumptions just based around work or are they part of all aspects of your life?"

"What?" Maggie asked.

"I mean just now you said you had an assumption that you were going to get fired. That's a pretty negative assumption."

"More of a working theory." Maggie muttered.

"Do you have similar negative assumptions about outside the workplace?"

"I can't get fired outside the workplace." Maggie said. "Actually that is a stupid thing to say. The Captain will still hold it against me."

"So, yes you do have a negative outlook in all situations." Kara said scribbling down notes. "Why do you always assume the worst?" Kara asked.

"I don't. I mean right now I am assuming I am going to have a nice romantic dinner with my fiancé." Maggie pointed out. "Unless of course you just fly in to our apartment."

"So the negativity is not just about what will happen to you, but what others will do as well. I mean you assume I am going to screw up every crime scene I go to."

"There are plenty of Supergirl size holes spread round the city." Maggie countered.

"You often suggest that Lena is conspiring against you." Kara pointed out.

"Because she is."

"You have no proof of that."

"Doesn't mean I'm wrong."

"So what makes you have faith in your beliefs, but not Alex's?" Kara asked.

"What?" Maggie asked.

"Alex believes that Landon is plotting against her, but you dismiss her concerns. Yet you are willing to believe that Lena is conspiring against you and even get upset that no one else sees it. I think you need to spend more time self reflecting."

"I spend plenty of time self reflecting." Maggie said gripping the steering wheel tighter.

"And how did that feel?" Kara asked.

"Frustrating."

"And how do you think Alex feels when you don't support her?" Kara asked as Maggie looked over at her. As the Detective saw how many notes Kara had taken she slammed the brakes on the car.

"What was that for?" Kara asked.

"Were you shrinking me?"

"What's wrong with that? You like therapy." Kara pointed out as a car behind started honking.

"Hi." Alex said entering an apartment holding a bag.

"Hi." Maggie called from the couch where she was massaging, with some difficulty, her neck.

"What's wrong with your neck?" Alex asked.

"I think I gave myself whiplash." Maggie confessed.

"Were you in an accident?" Alex asked frowning as she started to examine Maggie's neck.

"Just the normal train wreck that is also known as my Kara Danvers ride along."

"What?" Alex asked.

"I braked too hard." Maggie half explained. "I'm fine."

"These muscles are really tense." Alex said as she started to massage Maggie's shoulder.

"That feels nice. I so need this." Maggie said before suddenly tensing and looking round at Alex. A movement she immediately regretted.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked confused.

"You didn't ask if Kara was okay." Maggie pointed out.

"Should I?"

"You always get worried if there is any chance she is hurt. You knew I was with Kara and for a moment you thought there had been a crash. But you didn't ask about Kara. So you know she is fine. So you have already spoken to her."

"She's a little worried about you." Alex said as she went back to massaging Maggie's shoulders. "She thinks you are stressed and it is effecting your driving."

"My driving is fine."

"You have whiplash." Alex pointed out. But as she felt Maggie's muscles tense she added. "But that is completely irrelevant to this discussion. The important thing is you seem a little stressed and while Kara may be partially responsible through her ill advised but well meant therapy session, I am pretty sure the stress runs deeper. So I thought tonight could just be about helping you relax." She said before stopping the massage and going to the bag she put on the coffee table. She then pulled out some items and explained. "I have candles, I have a miniature shishi-odoshi, a-"

"A what?"

"A shishi odoshi. It's a Japanese water fountain that uses bamboo tubes and pivots. Technically it is for scaring away birds, boar and deer, but watching it is very therapeutic." Alex said as she tried to plumb it in using a hose connected to the kitchen tap. Once it was working and there was the reassuring clap sound she went back to the bag and pulled out the next items. "There is also incense and massage oil. And a promise that tonight there will be no talk of therapy."
