A/N Hey, everyone. I'm back with the thirty-ninth chapter of this story. I gotta admit, it's been a while since I've updated. First of all, I want to thank some of you guys for being extra patient with me since we are still dealing with the pandemic. And second, I started school a month ago, but just like a few months ago, it's moved online. It's been a little hard focusing with online lessons and making time to continue writing this story. But anyway, this chapter will feature MJ meeting Mr. Delmar for the first time. I don't know if this chapter is gonna be short or long. Who knows? So sit back, and let's get to it. And I'll see you at the bottom.

All of the characters belong to Marvel, not me.

Chapter 39: Meeting Mr. Delmar

Today was just another regular day in Queens, with everyone going with their normal day by going to work or meeting with their friends. Peter Parker is one of those who goes with his normal day whether it's stopping crime as Spider-Man or meeting up with his friends on a regular basis.

One day, Peter goes to Mr. Delmar's store since Peter is a regular customer because he goes there everyday after the school hours.

"Good afternoon Peter," Mr. Delmar greeted.

"Good afternoon," Peter replied as he pet Murph, Mr. Delmar's cat.

"How was school today?" asked Mr. Delmar.

"Same old, but it's been a little boring lately for the past five years," Peter replied.

"You better do well at school or you may end up like me," Mr. Delmar reminded.

"Thanks for the helpful advice," said Peter.

"Do you have a girlfriend yet?" asked Mr. Delmar.

"I do, actually. Her name's MJ," Peter replied.

"I want to meet her someday," said Mr. Delmar.

"You will, Mr. Delmar. That's a promise coming from me," said Peter.

The next day, Peter gets ready for his daily routine until he hears a chatter on the police radio.

"Attention all units, we have reports of a possible carjacking. Please respond," the dispatcher informed over the radio.

'Time to go save the day,' he thought as he put on his Spidey suit and jumped out his bedroom window to follow the police cars, chasing the stolen car.

"Peter, you have an incoming call from MJ," Peter's suit AI Karen informed him.

"Tell her I can call her later," said Peter.

Peter continued following the police cars until he catches up to the stolen car. He leaps on the car's windshield as the car thief tried to do a maneuver to shake him off, but Peter remains standing on the car with ease.

"Hey, buddy! I don't think this car belongs to you!" Peter shouted.

The thief pulls out a gun and fired a few shots, but Peter dodges it with ease before he pulls the thief out of the car and webbed him to the nearby tree and Peter uses his super strength to stop the car before it loses control. He swings to a nearby tree as he watched the police surround the car thief.

'Today's just another day of stopping a crime,' he thought.

Peter's broken out of his thoughts when Karen comes on through his mask.

"Peter, you're getting an incoming call from MJ. Would you like to answer?" asked Karen.

He quickly swings away from the crime scene and landed on a rooftop of a building.

"Answer it please," he replied.

"Hey, loser. How's it going?" asked MJ.

"Good. I just stopped a carjacking," Peter replied.

"Are you doing anything tomorrow?" she asked.

"I've been planning to bring you to meet my friend Mr. Delamar. He wants to meet you in person," he replied.

"Do I need to know where he works?" asked MJ.

"You'll see," said Peter.

"Sure. Whatever you say," she said.

"Karen, end the call," he said.

The next day after school, Peter walks to meet with MJ in the hallway so they could walk together to the convience store.

"Hey, ready to go?" he asked her.

"Yeah, let's go," she replied.

Together they left the school building and walked to the train station. A few minutes later, the train arrives and they quickly board the train before getting off and walking down a set of stairs.

"How much longer, Peter?" she asked.

"We're almost there," he replied.

True to his word, they were outside of the convience store.

"This is the place," said Peter.

They walked inside the store and Mr. Delamar was hanging out by the counter.

"Mr. Delamar?" asked Peter.

"Good afternoon Peter," Mr. Delamar replied.

"Mr. Delamar, this is my girlfriend MJ. MJ, this is Mr. Delamar, and he's the owner of this convience store," said Peter.

"It's very nice to meet you MJ," said Mr. Delamar as he took his hand out.

"Nice to meet you too Mr. Delamar," said MJ as she shook his hand.

"MJ, this is Mr. Delamar's cat Murph," said Peter as he pointed to the cat laying down and relaxing.

"May I pet him?" asked MJ.

"Go ahead. He's friendly towards Peter," Mr. Delamar replied.

MJ pets the cat as he purred and relaxed on her touch.

A few minutes later, Peter and MJ engage in a nice conversation with Mr. Delamar and they get ready to leave his store.

"Thanks, Mr. Delamar!" Peter called as he and MJ walked out of the store with their sandwiches in hand.

"Have a good night, you two!" Mr. Delamar called after them.

"So what do you think of Mr. Delamar?" Peter asked MJ.

"I think he's cool. I never knew you two had known each other for a while," she replied.

"I think today's been well spent," said Peter.

'Thanks for today, Peter. I had a good time with you," said MJ.

And that's the end of the thirty-ninth chapter for now. So what do you guys think? I apologize for not updating since I've been busy with school and it hasn't been easy focusing with online school and making time to update. I got midterms coming up soon. Anyway, chapter forty will be on its way soon. Also, I'm currently writing The Maze Runner story and it's gonna be published soon once I finish writing the first chapter. And I need some help on my Runaways fanfic since it's been a while. If anyone has watched the show, I'm open to ideas on how I can get my own characters into discovering more secrets of Pride. You can PM me with the ideas and I'll give you credit. Stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
