Chapter 47
CALLIE'S P.O.V:
It's been three weeks since we lost our baby, and two weeks since Arizona said she wanted to get married. In that time, we haven't talked about what's been going on. Every time I tried, she always shut me out. For the last two weeks, when I would wake up, I would notice Arizona's side was empty. Her side was always cold, which meant she had been up for hours. She would go to work without me.
Walking into work this morning, I walked down the hall to the office, knowing I would see Arizona sitting at the desk, on the phone with someone, and looking at the computer.
"Ok, well we can get her in this Friday." I hear her tell the person on the phone. "Alright, great. I will get that into our schedule. Okay, we will see you on Friday. Thank you for calling." I watched as she hung up the receiver. Now that she was off the phone, I decided to finally make my presence known.
"Seriously? You couldn't wake up me so we could take Noah to Teddy's and then come to work together?" I ask her, a little agitated. My presence must have startled her because she nearly jumped out of her seat.
"Callie, what are you doing here?" She asks.
"Umm...I work here. Just like you. Why didn't you wake me this morning before you left? or like any other mornings for the last two damn weeks."
"I didn't want to disturb you." She says, biting the side of her lip.
"That's always your answer, Arizona," I say to her.
"Yeah well, that's all I have right now, Callie." She spits. " But if you don't mind, I need to finish this. I booked two more artists for you, but need to get them into the computer." I moved more into the office and closed the door.
"We need to talk, Arizona," I tell her. I may be sounding a little selfish right now, but Arizona hasn't been the same since we lost our 2nd baby.
"No, I don't want to talk about anything,"
"We can't keep doing this," I say, running my hands through my hair.
"Callie, I said, I don't want to talk, about anything. Can you leave, please?" I just stood there as she went back to what she was doing, making a few clicks of the mouse. "There, all done. You now have two more coming in this week. A Lauren will be here Friday, and.." I ignored everything she was trying to say to me. I didn't really care at that moment. I moved closer to her and pulled her up from her chair. "Callie, what are you doing?"
"I miss you, Arizona. You haven't been the same since..."
"Don't say it." She snaps, pointing a finger at me.
"Well, I'm just being honest. You haven't. You have been very distant with me, then two weeks ago, you said you wanted to jump into us getting married, which I think you said for all the wrong reasons." She just looked at me. I noticed a tear trying to find its way to the surface but wiped it away with my thumb.
"I'm sorry, Calliope...I don't mean to be so distan..." I connected our lips, cutting her off. She let out a slight moan. I felt her body tense up at our connection. It's been a while since we had any kind of contact with each other. Pulling out of our lip lock, all she could do was just stare at me. Brown eyes locked on Blue.
"I love you, Arizona," I tell her, breaking the silence. "I miss you, I miss us." She grabbed me by the back of my neck and pulled me in for another kiss. The kiss started off slow, then turned more heated. I could feel myself getting worked up. Reaching for the hem of her shirt, I went to pull it up, but she stopped me.
"Wait.." She says breaking our lip lock once again, "Not here."
"We've done it here before," I tell her.
"I know, it's just that.." She stops.
"Do you really want me to stop?" I ask her, as I start to nibble on her ear. She just shook her head, then connected her lips with mine again.
"So, are we going to talk now?" I asked her, as I pulled up my pants. After I finished getting myself presentable, I walked over to the printer to grab a piece of paper to wrap the condom in, then threw it in the trash.
"About what?" She asks, not looking at me. She was more focused on getting herself dressed before Doug decided to walk in like last time.
"Us. and the whole marriage thing."
"Well, it has been two weeks now since I proposed the idea. and I still want to."
"Then let's do it," I tell her in a serious tone.
Her head shot in my direction.
"Are you serious?"
"If that's what you really want, then let's get married now."
She just shook her head. "It's not just what I want, Callie. It's what you want to. I don't want you to do it just to make me happy. I don't want you to feel like I'm pressuring you into it."
I took a couple steps closer to her, like I had done earlier before our sexy time in her office, I grabbed her by the hand, looked her dead in the eyes, and said, "This is what I want too, Babe."
*Sorry for the late updates. School and work have been nothing but hell to where I wasn't able to make any updates. I'm also sorry for the short and boring chapter, but next one, should be so much better. Thanks for reading.*
