We do not own Koihime Musou or Kamen Rider Gaim. They belong to their respective creators. We just thought this idea would be fun and decided to give it a try. If you like it, then that's great. If you don't, then we tried. Anyway, come along and let's see what you think.

After Sousou ended the meeting, everyone left to make preparations. Only Mitsuki and Juniku remained in the meeting room with Sousou.

"Karin, since I might not get another chance to ask you this, there's something I'd like to know. Even if you want Oda to be your consort, why are you so fascinated by him?" Mitsuki questioned.

"Baron's right," Juniku agreed, puzzled. If Sousou liked Nagata for his cooking skills and power, she could understand that but the Queen of Sou Gi seemed genuinely fond of him. "You seem to care a lot about him. I know you like him but there seems to be more to it."

"It's simple. He has something I don't: genuine empathy and kindness," Sousou answered.

"But it's because of his emotions that his kingdom ended up in the state that it's in now!" Juniku argued.

"True, he made mistakes and paid for them with his life and the lives of others," Sousou acknowledged. "But what happened to Shoku was due to circumstances beyond his control. I have seen people who become corrupted after gaining power. However, Nagata has not lost any of his kindness even after obtaining great power. Even his time in Purgatory has not warped him. He refused to succumb to the lust of power, unlike me who wouldn't be satisfied until I succeed in uniting the mainland under my rule. Indeed, he isn't perfect, but it's foolish to think perfection is the only way someone can be considered worthy. Now, you both have a job to do. I suggest you get to it. We don't have any time to waste."

And with that, Sousou left the room, leaving both Mitsuki and Juniku to glance at one another to consider what she just told them.

"Think she's in love with Oda?" Mitsuki questioned.

"No, that's impossible!" Juniku spat in denial. "There's just no way that's true!"

"I dunno." Mitsuki folded his arms. "It just seems that way to me."

Sousou wanted Nagata as her consort and there was no changing her decision once her mind was made up. All Mitsuki could do now was support her. After all, this was also part of her ambition and he had sworn to help her realize it.

Chapter 59: Eve of the Final Battle

After Sousou dismissed them, Mitsuki went straight to Kakoen's room to keep her company. Kakoton was there as well and she had told her sister everything that had happened.

"He says he'll spare us all if we surrender but I don't trust him. Not one bit. Nothing is stopping him from double-crossing us except for his word and that doesn't mean much," Mitsuki told Kakoen.

"So, what will you do?" Kakoen asked Mitsuki.

"We'll just have to make our stand here. We have something he wants and if he wants me then he'll just have to take me himself," Mitsuki said challengingly. "And when he shows his face, I'll send him straight to Hell."

"And you won't be alone," Kakoton supported. "If you work together with Gaim and Gridon, you can win." She sounded so optimistic, so hopeful, but Mitsuki also knew they needed to be realistic. They did not know what Dai Shi's full capabilities were but they had experienced a taste of it so fighting him was going to be risky. Unfortunately, they didn't have a choice nor did they have time to figure out his weaknesses, if he had any.

Mitsuki looked at his bracelet and felt the Phoenix's Eye gazing back at him as he clenched his fist. He had died before to protect Sousou and he would gladly do it again but not just for her. He would do it for everyone he loved, including his unborn child. He would kill and die for them.

No matter the cost, Dai Shi would die tonight.

The strategists from the Three Kingdoms Alliance were gathered in the war room as they tried to formulate a plan for Dai Shi's army. They were familiar with the combined forces of the RinJyuKen Akugata and Genesis cult but Dai Shi was an unknown factor. They knew very little of him besides what Nagata had told them.

To think he had forged the Seal of Heaven. It was meant to symbolize the emperor's power and divine right to rule all. To learn it had been forged by Dai Shi's evil hands had been a shock to them all but it did explain why the RinJyuKen Akugata had been trying to claim it before. It made sense that they would attempt to recover an artefact that had been forged by their master.

"We need to focus on fortifying our defences," Juniku stated.

"We should think about evacuating the citizens first," Komei argued.

"There's no need for that. Riten has designed and constructed several emergency shelters in the capital. They can hide in there," Juniku countered.

"Will it still be enough to keep them safe?" Komei questioned.

"Well, where would they run? A huge group like that would be an easy target and they'd be picked off if they tried to leave," Juniku argued.

"Well we can't just leave them to die if our enemies break through the gates," Komei countered.

"We won't have to worry about that if we just fortify our defences," Juniku reaffirmed her stance. "We need to focus on the kingdom's safety."

"But we also need to think of an escape plan," Komei rebutted. "That way, if the enemy manages to break through our defences, the citizens can evacuate."

"Hey, are you girls busy?" Hideyoshi interrupted as he entered the war room with Totaku.

"What are you two doing here?" Kaku asked.

"We thought we could help. You know, offer you some ideas," Hideyoshi answered. He just couldn't wait around and do nothing but twiddle his thumbs while everyone else was working so hard.

"Please do," Kakuka begged. Komei and Juniku had been arguing about either evacuating the citizens or fortifying their defences.

"I couldn't help but overhear that you want to evacuate the citizens," Hideyoshi said to Komei.

"If we do hand you all over to him, there's no guarantee Dai Shi won't attack, but we're wasting time arguing about it," Komei said.

"Well, we're wasting time arguing when we should be fortifying our defences," Juniku insisted.

"Our defences won't matter when they manage to break through them. I know the kingdom is warded but it won't be able to stand up to those numbers when they try to break through the gates or climb up the walls," Komei shot back.

"We should consider prioritizing the citizens," Rikuson agreed with Komei.

"But what about the defences?" Kakuka questioned. "If we plan to evacuate the people, we need something that can hold off the enemy forces to buy them some time."

"If they tried to evacuate, they'd be exposed to our enemies. They'll be slaughtered," Juniku stated. "They'll be safer within the city so long as they hide in the shelters while we fortify the defences."

"Look, how about we have a contingency plan, just in case?" Hideyoshi suggested. "Dai Shi's army is waiting to attack us but we need to make sure the citizens are taken someplace safe without them finding out." He snapped his fingers as he got an idea. "We'll take them through Helheim Forest and drop them off in Rakuyo. It's been left abandoned so it'll hold no interest to Dai Shi."

"That could work," Kaku considered. "We'll open a portal in the city and open another one in Helheim that leads to Rakuyo."

"We'll still need guards to make sure none of them strays from the path and to protect them from Inves," Komei said.

"Don't forget the fruit," Rikuson reminded. If any of them ate the fruit, then it would be all over for them.

"Alright, now, about fortifying defences. We'll use the Lockvehicles and Suika Arms for that," Hideyoshi continued.

"And maybe find a way to make the wards do more than just repel enemies," Totaku added. "Maybe something that can do damage."

"Like some kind of electrical fence?" Hideyoshi proposed. Everyone looked at him puzzled. "I mean a lightning fence."

"A lightning fence." Juniku rubbed her chin in thought. "Doesn't Gaim have the power to control lightning? We better call him and Choho and have them get to work."

"I'm also thinking we put up the mines around the perimeter," Hideyoshi offered. "It worked before when I was helping Shoku."

"They were quite effective in thinning the enemy's numbers," Komei agreed.

As the strategists continued to formulate a plan, more sand started to trickle down the hourglass. They did not have much time so they did the best they could so they could survive tonight.

Sonken was alone in her room, sitting on her bed to contemplate recent events.

"I wish you were here, Masataka-kun," Sonken said as she held Masataka's SengokuDriver, the image on the Rider Indicator now faded.

Shuyu had betrayed them, their kingdom had fallen, and then Masataka just decided to abandon them. It took her some time to forgive him since he believed he needed to go. He had been so afraid that he might lose control and hurt them. That was why he had gone with Brusa Li, so he could learn how to control his Overlord powers.

But what Mitsuki had said really got to her. Now she was afraid that Masataka had been captured by Dai Shi. She didn't want to believe it but the Crimson Phoenix Enforcer might be right. Masataka had not contacted them in months so Dai Shi had likely found him and taken him prisoner.

She imagined him being locked up and tortured like a caged animal. It was just too much for her. And now they had less than four hours to hand the rest of the Sovereigns to Dai Shi or face destruction.

What were they to do now when it all seemed hopeless?

She desperately wished that her mother and sister were here to offer their advice. They would know what to do.

There was a knock on the door and Sonken responded.

"Who is it?"

"It's me," Kannei answered as she opened the door a crack. "May I enter, Sonken-sama?"

"Please, come in," Sonken permitted and her bodyguard entered.

"Sonken-sama, I've received reports that efforts to restore Son Go have gone underway."

"That's good." The good news should've lifted Sonken's spirits but she did not feel so uplifted at all as Dai Shi's threat still loomed over them.

"Is something wrong, Sonken-sama?" Kannei asked.

"Shishun, it's just us in here," Sonken reminded her bodyguard. In private, they could refer to each other by their personal names.

"Right," Kannei obeyed. "Are you alright, Renfa-sama?"

"No, I'm not," Sonken answered. "Masataka-kun's not coming back, is he?"

"Renfa-sama, I apologize, but it's been months since we've last seen him and we haven't heard from him since. As much as I wish it wasn't true, to be honest, I'm afraid he's not coming back," Kannei told her.

"That's what I thought. We need to consider the possibility that the enemy has already captured him or even killed him," Sonken said, upset. "And if he's truly gone, then we need to continue fighting without him."

She went over to a chest that was sitting on her dressing table and opened it to reveal Masataka's GenesisDriver and Melon Energy Lockseed. Shuutai had managed to retrieve the trinket from Saver, much to Sonken's relief.

Masataka may be gone but Zangetsu would rise again.

Hideyoshi stood atop the perimeter wall, watching the Yellow Turbans in Suika Armor plant the Kuri Caltrops for the minefield. Atop the walls stood guards riding on Tulip Hoppers and clad in Suika Armor too. They also had guards on Dandeliners, ready to gun down the enemy once they started their attack.

Honestly, these defences should slow down Dai Shi's army but they wouldn't stop them completely. Dai Shi's undead forces were relentless. They wouldn't let the death of their comrades discourage them. No, they would just keep going until they or their enemies were destroyed.

Totaku was safe in the palace and he would keep her safe. He would not fail her this time.

Suddenly, Nagata appeared from a bolt of lightning, nearly giving Hideyoshi a heart attack.

"Nagata!?"

"Need help?" Nagata asked. In the blink of an eye, he planted all of the Kuri Caltrops. "Done! Let's go!" He grabbed Hideyoshi and took off with him, trailing lightning.

"Tonight, we will be facing a threat beyond anything we have ever faced. We will be facing death itself. However, I know each and every one of you is willing to lay down your life to protect this kingdom. Remember that you are not just fighting for this kingdom but for the entire land and all that live here. We will not allow Dai Shi to intimidate us. We will not yield to evil," Mitsuki spoke to the assembled Phoenix Guard, giving them a rousing speech to boost their morale. He wanted them to be mentally prepared for the biggest fight of their lives. If all went according to plan, then this war would be over tonight.

"Now, will you fight for me? Will you fight for Sousou-sama? Will you fight for your home and your people?" Mitsuki asked his men.

"YES!" the Phoenix Guard chorused, raising their fists.

"And do you fear death?"

"NO!"

They did not fear death for they had the Crimson Phoenix Enforcer watching over them.

"Good! Then fight like you've never fought before! Fight because we are alive and put those undead sons of bitches back in the ground!"

"YES!"

"FOR BARON-SAMA!"

"FOR SOUSOU-SAMA!"

"FOR SOU GI!"

Mitsuki's lieutenants applauded as the speech had the desired effect. The Phoenix Guard was prepared to fight to the bitter end, to defend their kingdom and their people. Even if they fell in battle, their deaths would not be in vain.

"Wonderful speech, Baron-sama," Gakushin praised.

"Yeah, you got us pumped!" Riten agreed.

All of a sudden, a bolt of lightning crashed down in front of Mitsuki, revealing Nagata. Everyone gasped in shock at his sudden appearance.

"Oda?" Mitsuki questioned.

"Sorry, I need to borrow you for a moment!" Nagata quickly apologized and bowed before he zoomed away with Mitsuki.

"...What just happened?" Riten asked, stunned.

"I think Gaim just kidnapped Baron-sama," Gakushin answered.

"Should we do something?" Ukin questioned.

"No need," Shibai reassured them. "I think he will be alright."

In a flash of lightning, Mitsuki and Hideyoshi suddenly found themselves standing in the middle of the palace's hallway with Nagata.

"That..." Hideyoshi put his hands on his knees and gasped. He was a bit freaked out from being carried off at super speed. It was a good thing he did not have motion sickness or else he'd be throwing up all over the floor. "...That was fast."

"What the Hell, Oda!?" Mitsuki demanded angrily. He did not appreciate being taken for a ride like that.

"Sorry, but I needed to speak with you both urgently," Nagata apologized.

"Alright, Oda, you wanted to talk so let's talk," Mitsuki said with his arms folded across his chest. "Make it good."

"We're going to give Dai Shi exactly what he wants," Nagata informed them.

"...I'm sorry, but what did you say?" Hideyoshi asked, blinking in disbelief. "I think I heard you say something crazy just now."

"So you're asking us to give ourselves up?" Mitsuki demanded furiously.

"Are you nuts!?" Hideyoshi yelled.

"No, I'm saying that we're going to meet with Dai Shi but we're not surrendering. We know Dai Shi only gave us two choices but there's always a third choice," Nagata explained. "You're right, Akechi. It's time we took the fight to him."

"What made you finally change your mind?" Mitsuki asked, wondering where this came from. Nagata had not been ready to fight Dai Shi before but Mitsuki could see the resolve in his silver eyes right now.

"I received some good advice," Nagata answered.

"So, we're seriously doing this?" Hideyoshi asked, not fully convinced this was their best option. "We're seriously going to fight Dai Shi by ourselves?" He still thought that making a stand here gave them the best chance of survival.

"If we work together, and give it everything we got, and don't hold back, we have a chance to beat Dai Shi and end this war once and for all," Nagata resolved. "I know it's risky, and that we might be in over our heads right now, but if we don't face Dai Shi then the only choice we have is to just let him slaughter us all. I refuse to let that happen. Not after everything I, no, everything we've lost."

"You do realize you're asking us to go on a suicide mission, right?" Hideyoshi questioned.

"Believe me, I know I'm asking a lot from you two, but I need you both. We all need each other. We need to be a team," Nagata urged.

"You know, Oda, that's the craziest shit I've ever heard but it's so crazy that it just might work," Mitsuki smirked, impressed by Nagata's unshakeable resolve and commitment. "I'm in. If Dai Shi expects us to just surrender, then he's in for a rude awakening because we are going to put up one hell of a fight."

Hideyoshi looked between the Azure Dragon King and Crimson Phoenix Enforcer. The two of them were intent on facing Dai Shi. Nagata said he needed them to fight with him. He also needed them to believe in him. Hideyoshi still owed Nagata for his help in rescuing Totaku and if they didn't stop Dai Shi now, then she might die. Hideyoshi refused to let anything bad happen to her ever again.

"I'm in too," Hideyoshi spoke up, finally convinced. "Dai Shi's just like the bullies I've had to deal with and the thing about bullies is the only power they have is the power we give them over us. I refuse to let him have his way. And if Kenshin were here, he'd say the same thing too."

"Thank you," Nagata smiled as he clapped his hands together, glad that they agreed with his crazy plan. Now it was time to tell the others.

"Oh, and Oda, if you ever carry me off with your super speed again, I'm going to roast you over an open fire," Mitsuki threatened before walking away.

"Well, at least he's going to help," Nagata smiled, brushing off the threat like nothing.

"You know, it's a good thing you brought me to talk to you. I actually wanted to see you," Hideyoshi said.

"For what?" Nagata asked.

"You can control lightning, right? We've got a minefield and sentries but we still need to fortify the perimeter wall. The wards might hold but I was thinking we could augment it with your powers. Choho made some talismans and we'll need you to charge them up with your lightning powers before we can put them up," Hideyoshi answered.

"Like an electric fence," Nagata understood.

"Exactly. When they get too close, they'll get zapped and fried," Hideyoshi smiled. "If they don't get blown up first that is."

"What about the citizens?" Nagata asked. "Shouldn't they be evacuated?"

"We've got that covered," Hideyoshi winked. "There's nothing to worry about."

"Alright, good," Nagata nodded. "Now, I gotta go talk with the girls."

"Nagata-sama," a servant walked up to him. "Sousou-sama wishes to see you."

"What does she want?" Nagata asked.

"She wishes for you to come to her chambers," the servant answered.

Nagata stood in front of Sousou's bedchamber. A pair of guards stood at attention, glaring at him.

"Hi, Sousou asked me to see her," Nagata informed the guards. "Could you let me in?" They did not respond and kept glaring at him. "So, how are you guys doing these days? Read any good books lately?" Nagata received no response from the guards and he continued to stand awkwardly in front of Sousou's door.

"Let him in," Sousou said from the other side, permitting the guards to open the door for him. Nagata went in and the guards closed the door behind him.

"Your guards aren't very chatty, Karin," Nagata remarked. Back in Touka Village, he always found time to chat with the guards, talk with them about their day, and get to know them.

"I didn't employ them for their conversational skills," Sousou replied, sitting on her bed. She patted the spot beside her. "Come, sit down." Nagata raised an eyebrow but did not question as he sat beside her. "So, what is your plan to deal with Dai Shi?"

"We've agreed to face Dai Shi, together," Nagata informed her. "He took us by surprise before but we now have an idea of what he's capable of."

"And what's your plan once you face him?" Sousou questioned.

"Go all out from the start, hold nothing back, and work together," Nagata summarized. "It's the best plan we've got considering the circumstances."

"It's as good as any other plan, as simplistic as it is. Though there is a chance you'll be killed," Sousou argued.

"No plan survives an encounter with the enemy," Nagata agreed. "But it's better to face Dai Shi than to let our fear of him consume us. We can't allow him to intimidate us."

"Spoken like a true ruler," Sousou approved. "Just make sure to commit yourself to this. He's not going to show us any mercy so do not show him any mercy either."

"I don't intend to," Nagata swore as he took her hands in his and looked into her eyes. "Dai Shi wants to kill everyone I love. I won't allow him to do that."

"Everyone you love, hm?" Sousou leaned in, her nose almost touching his. "Do I qualify?"

"I consider you a close ally and friend, but you just need me to give you an heir, right?" Nagata replied.

"Sure, I need an heir." Sousou slipped onto his lap, putting her arms around him. "But that doesn't mean we can't have a relationship beyond a political one."

"Do...do we even have the time?" Nagata asked, blushing. Sousou was not just cute, but she was also beautiful, and she always went after what she wanted. Right now, she wanted him.

"Let's make time." Sousou captured his lips in a passionate kiss as she pushed him down on the bed.

Mitsuki and Juniku were on their way to fetch Sousou. He had gone back to speak with his men and lieutenants before going to speak with Sousou. Along the way, he bumped into Juniku who was on her way to see Sousou as well.

The dreaded hourglass' bottom was almost full. It was making the strategist anxious.

"Don't you dare die, Baron," Juniku warned Mitsuki. "Not again. It was terrible the first time. I don't want Karin-sama to suffer like that ever again."

"I don't plan on dying again, Keifa. Not when I have a baby on the way," Mitsuki retorted.

"Good, because if you die and get reborn again, I am not changing your diapers."

As they neared Sousou's bedchamber, the door opened and they caught Nagata stepping out. He looked a bit dishevelled like he had gotten dressed in a hurry. Juniku's eyes widened in horror and she stormed up to him.

"GAIM!"

"Huh?" Nagata spotted Juniku and saw her struggling in Mitsuki's grip with his hand covering her mouth. "What are you-?"

"You better leave, Oda," Mitsuki warned as he tried to keep his grip on the angry loli. "I don't know how long I can hold her."

Nagata made a hasty retreat and sped off just as Juniku took Mitsuki's hand off her mouth to scream curses at Nagata.

"YOU PIECE OF SHIT! YOU BASTARD! HOW DARE YOU TOUCH KARIN-SAMA!? I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU!"

"Calm the fuck down, Keifa. We don't know that anything happened."

"IT'S OBVIOUS SOMETHING HAPPENED! NOW LET GO OF ME SO WE CAN HUNT THAT BASTARD DOWN AND KILL HIM FOR DEFILING KARIN-SAMA!"

Mitsuki rolled his eyes and dragged her into Sousou's bedchamber. Hopefully, being in Sousou's presence would calm her down.

"Is it time already?" Sousou asked as she was in the middle of getting dressed. She looked like she had an enjoyable and satisfying time before they arrived.

Juniku was speechless, the colour drained from her face as she was petrified like a rock.

"Keifa?"

"Yes, Baron?"

"Give him the boot. Medium style."

"Deal."

Kanu had already told the Shoku Warriors what Nagata planned to do and now they were gathered in the meeting room so he could tell them himself.

"So, you're going to face him yourself," Chou'un frowned.

"I'm not going to be alone. Mitsuki and Hideyoshi will be with me," Nagata reassured her.

"Do you think you'll be able to win, Nagata-sama?" Ryuubi asked.

"I have to believe I can. I mean, it's all we've got besides each other. We can't doubt ourselves, not with everything that's on the line right now."

"Wish we could go with you," Ryofu said.

"Yeah, there's no reason we can't come with you," Bacho insisted.

"I'm happy to hear that but this is something we have to do on our own. You all need to stay and protect this place when Dai Shi's army attacks," Nagata said.

"We won't fail you, Nagata-sama," Kanu swore.

Unfortunately, Chouhi could not hold it in any longer.

"HOW CAN YOU JUST SACRIFICE YOURSELF LIKE THAT!?" she screamed at Nagata before she stormed out of the room.

"Rinrin!" Kanu shouted after her.

"I'll go talk to her," Nagata said as he went to follow Chouhi. He managed to catch up with her in the hallway. "Wait! Rinrin! Rinrin, wait!"

Chouhi stopped and turned around, looking at him with tears in her eyes.

"Onii-chan, please don't go," Chouhi sobbed as she hugged him tightly. He had just come back from the dead and now she was about to lose him again. She did not want to lose her big brother again.

"Rinrin, I have to do this," Nagata spoke softly, understanding why she was behaving this way. If his parents had returned from the dead, he wouldn't want to lose them again either.

"Why does it have to be you?" she demanded. Chouhi, like everyone else, had felt how powerful Dai Shi was. And while she believed in her big brother, she was smart enough to realize that Dai Shi was more powerful than anything they had ever faced before. Not even Braco who had put him in a coma or Majin Gaim who had killed him had made her feel so helpless.

"Honestly, I think it's just bad luck," he answered jokingly, trying to lighten the mood, but he was unsuccessful.

"It's not fair."

"I know, it isn't," he agreed. "I wish there was another way but we're not given much of a choice. Don't worry, though. We'll be back." He smiled as he gave her this promise but she was not convinced.

"Don't make promises you can't keep, Onii-chan."

"Then how about a pinky promise?" he offered, holding his pinky out to her.

"No." Chouhi shook her head. "Can you kneel down, Onii-chan?"

Nagata complied and got down on his knees.

"OK, now wha-?" Chouhi suddenly pecked him on the lips. She wore a cute blush on her cheeks. "Wha-wha-what?"

"I love you, Onii-chan."

Nagata stood up, stunned.

"Um...I love you too, Rinrin. Now, come on. Let's go back."

As the two returned to the meeting room together, Karasu appeared and hovered beside Nagata.

"So, does this mean you're a lolicon now?" she joked.

"Kara-chan...Please shut up."

The hourglass' bottom half was nearly full when everyone gathered in the banquet hall to see the Sovereigns off. As the four hours passed, everyone's anxiety just grew and grew. However, they all believed in the three Sovereigns. It would've been better if all four of them were present right now, but three was better than none at all.

Nagata was uncomfortable with the dirty looks Juniku and Mitsuki were shooting him with but he ignored them to focus on the mission at hand.

"So, you've made your decision," Sousou said as she looked at the Sovereigns who stood before them with faces of determination.

"We're going to face Dai Shi," Mitsuki resolved.

"And we're going to defeat him," Hideyoshi continued courageously.

"Believe it," Nagata finished confidently.

They appeared resolute, ready to face Dai Shi who was likely their strongest opponent yet. Everyone else before him paled in comparison. This was the Big Bad that they had to defeat to save the world.

The last of the sand trickled down and filled the bottom of the hourglass. Their four hours were up.

"Looks like our time is up," Sousou said.

"So, how is this thing supposed to take us to Dai Shi?" Hideyoshi wondered.

The hourglass suddenly shattered, causing everyone to jump back in shock as it spilt sand and glass onto the floor. As if it had a mind of its own, the grains of sand moved by themselves to draw an oriental magic circle which glowed eerily with dark magic.

"It looks like a gateway of some kind," Kada observed. "It could be a trap."

"It's possible but if this is going to take us to Dai Shi then we have no choice but to step through," said Nagata.

"Yes, let's step into the spooky magic circle," Hideyoshi snarked, staring at it warily.

"Don't be a pussy," Mitsuki mocked but even he was concerned about the magic circle.

"Nagata-sama, come back to us," Kanu requested, taking hold of his hands.

"I promise," Nagata swore.

"We'll be right here waiting for you," Ryuubi added.

"You better come back alive or I won't forgive you," Sousou warned Mitsuki.

"I'll bring back his head for you, Loli," Mitsuki vowed.

"Hideyoshi-kun, please be careful," Totaku pleaded.

"I will," Hideyoshi promised, holding her hands. "I'll be back."

They separated from their loved ones to stand in front of the portal.

"Dai Shi wants us so no holding back," Mitsuki told his fellow Sovereigns. "Got that?"

"Guess there's no turning back from this," Hideyoshi said. "See you guys on the other side."

"It'll be an honour to fight alongside you both again," Nagata stated. "Now, let's henshin!"

"HENSHIN!"

"It's time," Dai Shi said as the dark sand of his hourglass filled the bottom. It shattered to create another magic circle. It glowed brightly before the shine faded, revealing the Sovereigns.

Dai Shi saw them arrive and crossed his arms, smiling.

"Welcome, Seiryuu, Suzaku and Genbu," he greeted them.

"So, you're Dai Shi," Kaizer Baron said, finally seeing Dai Shi in the flesh.

"Where are we?" Imperial Gaim questioned as he scanned their surroundings.

"The Red Cliffs," Dai Shi answered. "Since you're all here to give yourselves up, I shall spare your friends, as promised."

"And who says we're giving ourselves up?" Kaizer Baron retorted.

"You did not come to surrender," Dai Shi realized as his smile grew, sensing the grim determination of his Sovereigns. "So you've resolved to do this the hard way then, to fight until the bitter end. Fine, I'll indulge you all." Dai Shi took off his robe and tossed it aside, revealing a black tunic with matching pants. A red sash was wrapped around his waist and he wore bracelets and black boots. He summoned the Zhayu Buckle, materializing it around his waist. "Zhayu, empower me."

The eyes of the Zhayu Buckle flashed and the sound of a gong rang from the belt as a serpentine dragon skeleton rose up behind Dai Shi to close its ribs around him. A cloud of dark smoke enveloped him before he emerged in his Empowered Armored Demon Beast King Dai Shi form.

In the historical texts of the Three Kingdoms, the Battle of Red Cliffs was a decisive naval battle fought between the allied forces of Sonken and Ryuubi against the forces of Sousou along the Yangtze River.

Now, the Battle of Red Cliffs would take on a whole new meaning. It would become the stage for the decisive battle between the Sovereigns of the Three Kingdoms and the Demon Beast King of the RinJyuKen Akugata.

There was too much at stake and they could not afford to hold anything back. For their friends, their loved ones and their kingdoms, they would defeat Dai Shi to stop his madness once and for all.

Dai Shi bowed to his opponents and Imperial Gaim returned the gesture with equal respect. Once the formalities were done, it was time to begin their final battle.

KRC: The final battle begins! Who will be victorious? Nagata Oda, Mitsuki Akechi and Takeda Hideyoshi working together are just like how Hideyoshi and Mitsuhide served Nobunaga in the past during the Sengoku War. Too bad Iori's bedridden or Nagata would have had a Tokugawa with him as well.

"Trapped in a cage like a tiger in the zoo."

Masataka opened his eyes which grew to the size of dinner plates. Standing outside of his cell was his little brother, Minato.

"Minato..." Masataka exhaled.

"Hello, Onii-chan. I'd say it was nice to see you, but that'd be a lie," Minato greeted his brother coldly.

"No, no, this is a trick." Masataka shook his head in denial. "You can't be here."

"And why not?"

"Because...because..."

"Because you killed me," Minato finished. "Well, as you can see, you didn't."

"How...?" Masataka wondered, wanting to know how this was possible. He then put two and two together. "Dai Shi."

"Exactly," Minato confirmed with a cold smile. "He gave me an extra life and then some."

"Minato, why are you even working for him? Do you realize what he's planning? He's going to kill everyone," Masataka said as he attempted to reason with his younger brother.

"Onii-chan, after what I did, do you honestly think I care what Dai Shi-sama does to the people here?" Minato snarled. "These are the people you abandoned me for. What happens to them is on you, not me."

"You'd allow innocent people to die...because of a petty grudge?"

"Petty!? Because of you, our grandfather died of a broken heart!" Minato snapped. "I was left all alone, Onii-chan! And once Dai Shi-sama is done, you'll be left all alone too. Just like me."

"And what do you get out of this?" Masataka asked.

"Dai Shi-sama promised he'll reunite me with Ojii-chan," Minato smiled.

"And do you think he will keep that promise?"

"If he can bring me back to life, then he can bring Ojii-chan back to life as well."

"I don't think Ojii-chan will be happy to know that you did all this just to bring him back to life," Masataka remarked.

"You don't get to talk about Ojii-chan after you abandoned us!" Minato snapped in anger before his lips curled into a cruel smile. "We'll speak again soon when I hear any news about them. Until then, enjoy rotting away in your cell."

Minato turned and walked away as Masataka called out to him.

"Minato! Minato! MINATO!"

Minato ignored his brother as he walked further away until he could not hear his voice any longer. He was just wasting his time. It was too late for Minato anyway. He had already crossed the line so all he could do now was walk forward and hope that everything he had done was worth it.

It had to be worth it.
