Chapter 39: Convoluted Dragon History
"Flint, just admit it: you have no idea what you're doing!"
Within the room of Flint's, a group of five dragons stood towards the middle of the open room, each with shows of frustration. Because so much work had been done within and outside of his room, things had started taking shape into a real home. Flint's bed, while still made out of the interior of the mountain, now laid outwards to the back wall with curves to the back of it, fit enough for two. To his left sat a table with a circular chair made of stone, and a square that sat against the wall that held glass, helping to make out a mirror. To his right laid a bookshelf to its side rather then a sat up one. To the middle of the room laid a leather feeling rug that wrapped into a circle with a wavy like pattern. Above the rug and to the ceiling hug a chandelier, mainly made from stone, but glass showed to the housing of the flames. Laying up from his bed to see he was being disturbed, Flint growled to this show of force against him, "And what the hell do you all think you're doing?"
"Leaving, and actually going out to get results, unlike you," The red dragon to the middle of the five spoke, "You've failed your sending of two assassins, a full on assault of Warfang with the help of the Destroyer, and even in the sending of help to retrieve or assist the assassins in their goals. We've all been the butt end of a joke to you. We were there to attack Warfang, we were there in helping retrieve Flair, but no matter the firepower, we've always failed, and it's because we listened to you every step of the way," Rubbing between his eyes, Flint was too tired to deal with this rebellion right now, "If we would've just killed that female, Flair, then she wouldn't be such a problem for you right now. So, with the darkness we have, we're taking our leave and making a show of our strength."
"Would you just shut up and wait," Flint stood from his bed, "Every thing we do chips away at Spyro's or someone else's sanity until they break. I have a plan, but for now, we need to build. Every day we gain a new member; another dozen apes, another hundred dark forces. I wish to build for the simple reasoning of attacking Avalar. They have a rather nice hold over land that we can use: not to mention their use of poison is very... unique," Walking off his bed and over to the five, he attempted to calm their minds, "The poison they can make spans far and wide. I've purposefully been sending dragons there to antagonize the beasts there to get them to build dragon killing weapons for us that we can steal later. Once we have that, maybe we could build an alliance with the other worldly dragons, mainly the secondary elemental ones. Though from what I've heard, their democracy is a real bitch."
"So your idea is to use two sides to take out the citizens of Warfang?"
"I gain the trust of those in The City Of Prosperity, we use their military might and the weapons we've gained from those wolves to make an assault unlike what we were able to do back then. After all, not only will the weapons they make kill, but the soldiers of the other nation have shields that take away your energy in battle. Spyro loses the ability to use his time power, on top of the loss of his dark power to keep himself from constantly healing, and in the process, with an easy jab to his heart or anywhere else, his body will simply cease to exist. Cynder will become my mate, the others who betrayed me will watch as I cut their males open piece by piece, and in the end, we all win."
"You wouldn't happen to have one of these... weapons, would you?" The red dragon and the others were now listening.
"Hmmm..." Thinking about it now, Flint saw this as a fantastic idea, "You know what? This would be a perfect time for a test drive so I can use the information we have to make the Cheetahs make an even stronger product!" Snickering to himself, he gave the go ahead, "Our armory is to the right as you walk out. Go two doors down as the first door will be a supply of our defenses. If thing's go top side, you run. But make sure you retrieve the weapon before leaving so those animals can't track what we're doing. Spyro and Cynder have seen the Cheetahs before, and if they see the weapon's design, they'll know what we're doing."
"Understood," Giving an evil grin, the five turned to head for the armory.
I'm so... comfortable... how am I... no... no no no, this is wrong. My father's gonna be standing right in front of me when I wake to gut me! The comfort she felt, the ease, and safety all seemed too good to be true for Flair. Not only had everything felt so right, even as her body woke out of fear; she listened close to her surroundings, noticing very quickly that it was nearly silent. No snoring, no yelling, nothing but ambiance. The only sound she could really make out was some slight, easy breathing, and the direction it was coming from. Cyril's still with me, which... no surprise there. But is anyone else in the room who's just keeping quiet? Cyril's body had moved while they slept as now, he laid to his left: back against her side and limbs spread outwards to the other side of the bed. With nothing holding her head down, she was free to move as she pleased. Readying for the worst, the white of her teeth showed as her head raised. Opening her eyes to see the threat, everything in her soul was ready to attack. But to her surprise, nothing. She gave wide eyes to see there really wasn't a threat, but that didn't stop her from doing a double take and looking all around the room. To the left laid the other six, and to her right was of course Cyril. From both behind her and in front, no one showed, aside from the open space to where someone could've been. That's... impossible... No... It has to be because the day just started. Shifting in his sleep, Flair noticed Cyril's stirring. At first it seemed normal, but seeing sweat drip from his forehead, and his paws starting to twitch in a way, it seemed as though he was having a nightmare. Cyril? Nuzzling her head down to his neck, she didn't think twice when it came to helping him, "Hey, Cyril... Cyril... it's okay... I'm right here... I'm right with you..."
This seemed to help: seizing the sweaty movements to an ease. Her voice had slightly woken him though. Giving out a groan as he stretched out along the bed, his body readjusted so he now laid to his back: paws up in the air and wing back to his side that once rested to Flair's back. Only gleaming at, he grumbled her name, "Flair...?" She smiled to him, not able to say anything back since he started to speak on his dream, "I was having the weirdest dream... I was at these stairs that were near infinite, and I couldn't go up them until I had a certain number of... stars?" Raising a brow to him, she continued to listen, "I couldn't beat some of the levels which I got to through... paintings? So I did some wired, backwards jumping thing and just, appeared up at the top of the stairs and to the door."
"Hehe, and what could've possibly triggered such a dream like that?" Flair gave a sweet giggle.
"I know I had to save a princess so, I guess you were the princess I needed to save?"
"Cyril... you really think I'd need saving?"
"Hehe, it was definitely a dream, that's for sure," Now waking up after talking with Flair a little bit, he wondered what she was thinking about, "So... how did you sleep? I'm guessing since I'm not dead, and you aren't killing someone else, the night finally treated you right?"
"I should start calling the night 'Cyril' if it keeps treating me as right as you do," He gave wide eyes to hear this, even seeing her giggle afterwards, "Since no one's awake, me and you can have some time to ourselves. But don't get use to this side of me. Once they wake up, I'll immediately go back to being a pain in your ass."
"Thought that was my job?"
"No, your job is kissing my ass. You cause me pleasure, I... cause you pain."
"No, that's a bad Flair," Cyril didn't wish for her day to already start off uncomfortable, "If you were causing me pain, then what was with the snow day we had? You listened to me as I spoke on my pain, you helped me, and trusted me enough to build a snowman with you, which you only ever saw as enjoyable because it held memories of you and your mother. You hated the snow because fire and ice don't mix, and yet... your mom proved you wrong, in a sense that helped you see the brighter side of life... and I know I can too..." Because she knew no one was awake yet, Flair felt no fear in giving a joy filled smile to his words, "What happened yesterday was on me: don't beat yourself up over it. Just look at what we have now and know that we'll always have it... together..."
Her sigh was mainly to help ease herself to gain control over her anger to stop such a massive amount of help, but from his gentleness to her, the sigh only proved to show more of her smile, "Damn. For someone who says he can control himself, you sure do like talking about us doing it, don't you?" He raised a brow to hear her say, "And I quote you, 'We'll always have it... together...'," Even as he rolled his eyes, his smile was very much there, "And who do you think you're rolling your eyes to little miss attitude?"
"Uh, you of course," Cyril played along, "It's no fun playing hide and seek with my words if you keep catching on."
"I'll tell you what then. I'll turn a blind eye to your next, sexual advancement," Ducking her head to his neck, she gave him a nice, firm, lustful lick to which his body shivered in joy for, "If you keep yourself under control during 'my' neck tasting session," Blowing a raspberry, Cyril knew he had this in the bag, but Flair knew otherwise, "Oh, it's not gonna be so simple, Ice man. Not only will I be going full force," With the use of her tail blade, she groped up and down his stomach as an example, "I'll let my body wiggle, and move, and shiver all around and against you, all while I taste every scale that your neck shows."
"And how do you expect me not to... to... Flair, come on! There's no way! You know when it comes to your sexy nature, my lips will beg for yours."
"I don't think you understand what I'm trying to do, Cyril," Since he was acting so nice, she decided to do the same, "I'm trying to see just how much control you really have. If I find that your performance was satisfactory, then you'll get a reward. But I'm still tip toeing to see what can or can't trigger you," Because she could tell her lust was starting to show a little more then she would've liked, a quick growl helped her get back on track, "Listen... Cyril... I just... I want to make sure you won't hurt me. I know that your feelings will run wild and that you'd feel desperate for a release such as a kiss, but... I want to make sure you won't, choke me or something, and force me to love you because you think it's romantic. I need to understand who you are."
"Flair, even I know you well enough to understand that, if I were to, choke you, you'd do the same back, though with enough force to make my eyes pop," Cyril chuckled; never seeing this ever happening or even being a problem, however, Flair took it rather seriously, and he saw that, "Hey... Flair..." She looked to him in hopes he would help, "I know you're scared... I know, you still fear that I'm putting on an act and trying to be something I'm not just to be with you... but I know what it's like to want something gentle, but you get a boulder instead. Like when Freya almost choked and killed me."
"I'm... sorry that happened... Cyril," Flair murmured.
"That's over now, and what I have now; whom, I have now, is exactly the one and the life I want," To help her out just a little more, his paw rested to her right cheek, giving small gropes here and there which she smiled at him for, "Thank you for this opportunity, Flair... and I promise, I will do everything in my power and beyond to make you proud. And while I don't need an incentive, if I do make you proud enough... could I... expect something?"
"You can expect my blade not connecting with your neck," She was quick to shut him up.
"Hehe, fair enough."
"Okay, so, like, I just had one of the weirdest dreams of I think... my entire existence," Standing at the main door in the hallway of the house, Malefor spoke with Spyro who stood at the front and to his left, and for Carith, she walked behind Malefor, while Cynder walked behind Spyro, "It's scary to think that, this dream was either caused by the Ancestors, but why? Ignitus, which, once again, why? Or me... which, maybe I'm high or something," With the main doors opened outwards to allow the four to exit, they did so, and Malefor continued, "So, I was on a floating stadium in... space? And I was fighting a fox. I was supposed to save the fox, but he kept shooting at me with a laser pistol. When ever I'd try to attack, he'd shield himself, roll, dodge, and just kick my ass. It was weird too because I had like a, third person perspective, and we had numbers next to our names. If we went over a hundred damage, we were like, able to be easily flung off the staging area. I finally beat the fox, but then I had to, and I shit you not, fight a massive hand," Spyro looked to him in complete confusion for what he was saying, having no idea what he was talking about, and with the confused look he got, Malefor didn't understand it either, "I don't know man! I don't know what the hell I'm on, or even why I dreamt of this! Craziest part, that wasn't the only dream I had!"
"Damn dude. You're just going deeper and deeper into your mind... just like..."
"Inception?!" Malefor and Spyro both spoke in unison, "Yeah, man! But just, tell me which dream you think was weirder," Having to think back onto what the dream was about, Malefor snapped his fingers up as he remembered, "So I was in like some, learning area, or something like that. I heard the ringing of a bell, and once it went off, everyone in this, room, would stand up, pack their bags, and head home. Though for the one at the front, he or she would stay there and erase-I guess... a broad? Once we all packed up, I headed outside into this open courtyard area. Hehe, one thing that was true about this dream is that, I was, 'very' popular with the ladies, and very intelligent too."
"The ability to speak does not make you intelligent."
"Okay, A: that was rude. B: meesa don't like the attitude. And C... shut up. Going back to the story, I was walking through the court yard and noticed, OH SHIT!" Malefor's sudden yell scared the three for a second, "I just remember! While I was sitting at the desk in that room with these other dragons, I was looking out a window and THEN, I noticed a book dropping from the sky," Making it to the entrance of the Chambers, the four entered and headed to where they normally sat, and while Cynder and Carith greeted Ignitus, Terrador, Volteer, and their females with a smile and a wave, the other two were so focused to one another, "Going back now to the outside courtyard area, I decided to walk to the spot where I saw the notebook drop, and sure enough it was there. Once I picked it up, at the front of the book in white, it read, 'Death Diary'..."
"Um... diary?" Spyro questioned.
"You mean notebook?" Volteer questioned him.
"What notebook?" Malefor was confused about what he was talking about.
"The hell you mean, what notebook? The Death Note."
"It wasn't the Death Note, it was the Death Diary."
"HAHA! Oh yeah, because only women keep diaries, so of course it would be a diary in your dream! Hahaha!"
"Ha-ha," Malefor growled, "Your breathe is as bad as your jokes as I can smell it from here."
"Oh, sorry," Ersa giggled, "That might be mine because of Volteer."
"And why would... I'm gonna stop you right there because, for one, I was joking and don't actually know if his breath smells bad, and two... your breath doesn't smell bad either. So, I'm assuming you want to make a joke about the fact that your breath smells like a part of Volteer that you tasted... and that part isn't his lips?" Raising a claw to defend herself, even opening her mouth as she was ready, his words were correct, so she brought herself back down, "Volteer, how does it feel to get blown?"
"Hehe, wouldn't you like to know," Volteer snickered.
"I mean... yeah..."
"Poor Carith," Claire already saw the teeth from her.
"Nope. Not even gotten bother," Carith crossed her arms and decided against saying something, "Unless Malefor forces these lips to move, from here on out, they ain't movin'."
"Holy crap!" Slapping a fist down into the open paw of his other, Malefor smiled, "That gives me an idea! Before I have my first time, it's gotta be great, no, perfect! So then, Volteer. You remember how you taught me and Spyro how to kiss-"
"What?!" Trish interrupted too soon.
"Our females!" Malefor quickly corrected, "But now that I'm thinking about it; Spyro, if we were together, who do you think would be the bitch?"
"Haha! Definitely you," Spyro knew it was no contest.
"So, you pick on me because you thought I liked dudes, yet, here you are now, saying sus ass shit like this?" Volteer was now confused why he was the one being pointed fingers to when it was never him, "I've mated with a female, you haven't, and because you haven't, I'm assuming you're just too scared to tell Carith you don't swing that way?"
"Hehe, actually, I swing two ways! TO THE LEFT WHEN I PUNCH YOU, AND TO THE RIGHT, WHEN I PUNCH YOU!" Malefor growled at him as that wasn't what this was at all, "Anyway! What were we talking about...?" While he was thinking back to the previous conversation, he gave a sudden sigh as Malefor realised it, "Holy shit... I really would be the bitch in our relationship. OH! Which means that, even though you'd abuse me, you wouldn't hit me as hard, like Cynder."
"Spyro doesn't abuse me!" Cynder yelled at him, once again having to make that clear.
"Cynder... tap your nose twice if you're lying because he's there and you just don't want him to know you're actually afraid of him."
"And what if I tap my nose once?"
Malefor gave a huge gasp, "You want to have sex with him?!"
"I mean..." Spyro rubbed the back of his neck, blushing just as hard and red as Cynder.
"Hehe, yeah..." Malefor froze, just the same as the others as they all looked to the two with wide eyes and opened mouths, yelling out in awe, "You two mated?!"
"NO!" While Spyro was ready to say something, Carith yelled out her own as she was pissed to hear this, "First Volteer, and now you two?! Next it's gonna be Ignitus, or Terrador, or even Cyril! Me and Malefor have just as much of an emotional connection as you two do for each other! So you're telling me, out of all of us, I'm the one who's gonna get laid LAST?!" Malefor and the others now gave widened eyes to her: giving even more for everyone to process, "I've put myself out there! I've dropped hints after hints; even going as far as to purposefully show my body by stretching out in full exposure on the bed, but nothing!" Blinking a couple of times, Malefor had no idea how to respond to this openness, but Carith still wasn't done as she planted her claw to his chest, "What, will it take, for you to understand, my needs?!"
To clear something up first, he needed to know what she was really after, "Are you... upset that we aren't mates... or that we're not having sex?" She knew exactly what he was asking when he said this, but he still shined some light on the question by frowning, "Because... if you just want to... do it... then... I'm kinda going to need a way to control the Dark Master when you leave me..." Carith gave a sigh as it did sound like she wanted nothing more aside from sex, and even for her, she frowned, "Carith... I..."
"We didn't mate," Spyro was finally able to say what he wanted to, mainly to help ease the other two's minds from what they were talking about, "Our night was just... different... compared to most of our other nights..."
"How different?" Malefor of course was the first to ask.
"Hehe, well, Cynder found a new way to kill me if she wanted to."
"What?!" The others cried.
"Spyro, I..." Cynder suddenly showed a frown, murmuring even as though she had done something wrong.
"Cynder, it's okay... you didn't know..." Spyro eased her with a soft voice.
"What happened?" Claire frowned as well as the others to see Cynder seeming so scared, so down for something that had happened last night.
Having fallen back asleep after their talk, Flair's body now felt the need to wake: agreeing with herself that she's had enough sleep for the day. Letting off a powerful stretch out in front of her, claws sharpened in a deadly way, she thought to herself, What time of... Stopping, she let off a yawn. Smacking her lips back closed, her thoughts continued, What time of the day is it? At first, the thought made her wake, but while she was trying to focus on other things, something seemed off to her. Wait... how... how did I stretch out the way that I did? It was comfortable and all, but... Cyril?! Her body shot awake, but before she was able to move, she now felt that cool feeling of warmth and ease Cyril always gave to her when close. However, the cold feeling was different to her. Rather feeling him from left because of his wing, and right because of his scales, the cool feeling was directed to the entirety of her back. What the... in what way is he sleeping...? In what way am 'I' sleeping? Wondering as to why the cool feeling was only to her back and left side, Flair opened her eyes to scope out the surroundings. The more her body woke, the more she felt where some more of the hidden cold was coming from. Her neck now grew cold, same for what felt like her back-end. As her eyes opened, the first thing she noticed was the absence of the other six who's beds now showed empty. They better be out in the Chambers. To the left side of her vision, something blurred, but once taking a closer look and focusing up, the vision from her cleared and showed a blue arm that she could only slightly make out. Wait... wait-wait-wait! Noticing this arm rested over her neck, she started to put the pieces together onto how she was laying. While she was laid to her right side, so was Cyril. The cool feeling she felt to her back wasn't his wings: it was his stomach. Understanding where his stomach was grew her feelings of disgust, and she had now taken notice to his other arm underneath her neck: now showing his arm over the left of her neck, and one other that ducked underneath to stretch out across. The feeling to her left was his wing, but to understand what was going on behind her, she tried her best to arch herself up with her right arm. Pushing his wing up to get a clear straight down view of what was going on, she gasped. His left leg hung over the back of her ass, and the same went for his right leg as it dug under hers to get a perfect show of what it looked as though he wanted to do. Now having enough of what she was seeing, and understanding what he was doing now, her blood boiled, "Cyril...! CYRIL! Cyril, wake your ass up!"
Her yell definitely woke him, but still feeling rather tired, and comfortable, it took him some time to get his surroundings, "Flair...? What's wrong, gorgeous?"
"What's wrong?!" She couldn't tell if this was a joke or not, "I get you're trying to show you care about me and what not... but what about that involves YOU SPOONING ME?!" Even as pissed as she was and sounded, Cyril kept a rather happy smile as he knew the exact way and position they were in together, "I'm REALLY starting to have second thoughts about me telling you that we will be mates in the future!"
"Hehe, easy, Flair... It's okay... I'm not going to try anything... While I know this may be sexual for you, this is something I remember doing for Freya to help her when she was upset," First, to show what he meant, using his left paw that hung over the top of her neck, he used it to grope down her chest, easily and gently rubbing her there before going down to her stomach, "It's supposed to be calming..." Licking the side of her neck, her body suddenly felt like understanding him in a way, easing down and allowing him this chance to change her mind, "You can hear me breathing, you can feel my heart as it beats..." Kissing her neck now, the more he spoke, the more he eased his lips up and down the side of her neck, Flair unfortunately growled as she gave in, laying her head back down even to let him continue, "I'm not surprised that you'd like spooning. I mean, it is a sex position in which the female doesn't have to look at the partner during. So you can think of me who ever you wish."
"Oh, wow, great. So, what the hell would happen if I would think about you: the one who's actually spooning me?"
"Then you can think of every motion, every movement of me as I slid my way..." With the slightest move of his hips forward, feeling his scales between his hind legs touch her, she jumped.
"HEY!" Now getting herself back together, her fins all sharpened to a point that could pierce the scales if provoked, and he felt the blades stab to not only his entire stomach and neck, but right between his hind legs the same, "You see, just like my mother, I have a fin that is PERFECTLY aligned back there near my tail bone, so, if someone like you were to try and take advantage of me from behind, my blade would go straight up and cut your disgusting... hatchling-maker...! In half! So I'd think twice about your next movement."
"Hehe, you didn't feel anything poke your ass, did you?"
"Or maybe it's just that small."
"Hehe, I have no fear there," Cyril backed down from her as he maneuvered his way onto his back, even taking his wing from the side of Flair.
"Oh, Cyril," Flair sighed, rolling to her stomach now and getting clear view of Cyril as he laid there to his back next to her right, "It's okay for some men to be small. I mean, even for Argus, he was... decent looking."
"Wait, you... you saw..."
"Men are pigs: what can I say? Even though, technically, he woke up when I was next to him and I saw."
"Hehe, well, I don't know what Freya was in to, but, when ever we were about to mate, even though she stopped me, she did do something else before hand," Looking at Flair and smirking, she growled at first, "Before I showed her, she kept talking and talking and talking, but once I showed her, she stopped," Giving a blush of his own, he rolled over to face her, laying back to his right, "She swallowed very, very hard, blushed, and drooled so much that she could only utter one word before spilling saliva."
"And?!" Flair blushed immensely hard, but she was curious, "What... did she say...?"
"Her eyes directed down, and all she could say was... 'huge'..." Cyril smiled to see Flair had absolutely no words for what he had to say, and he wished to see if she'd give a reason why, "Of course that was only Freya who said that, but... if you'd want... I'd like a second opinion."
"DAMN IT!" Flair yelled with what seemed like both anger, and sadness, and while he was use to her anger, hearing the cry in her voice changed his attitude.
"Whoa whoa whoa, Flair," Rolling to his stomach and laying next to her, he apologized, "I'm sorry... that... that was uncalled for..." She still didn't respond to him so he continued his best to try and help her, "I'm sorry about the sexual jokes and whatnot that I've been making. It's not because I'm trying to seduce you, I swear. It's just... I know... it helps you get your mind off of the world out there," He noticed she had shed a tear, and her body eased from the anger she was showing after facing the bed, "I hoped us... spooning, showed that self control though. Even as I was licking and kissing your neck, I stayed strong. Although, when I tried to flirt with you by talking dirty, it did, make me feel rather kinky... I even went as far as rubbing against you, but I still kept control..." A thought came to mind that he suddenly jumped on, believing she was thinking about this too, "And don't think you're not hot or anything! I mean, hehe, damn. Feeling your heat, watching as you laid your head back down while I kissed and licked you, I... maybe... maybe-maybe-maybe... would've gone past the point of no return."
"None of that is what I'm pissed about!" Flair couldn't look to him even as she stood up and got off the bed.
Cyril did the same as he was quick to catch up to her. Walking halfway from the door and the bed, she stopped, which gave Cyril an easy way to run up to her side, but she stopped him, "Don't approach me!" He did exactly as he was told, stopping to her back right, watching her attempts to not face him by even looking off to her left, "I get it... I should be enjoying this, and so far, like every other day, waking up with you has been... amazing..." Cyril smiled to hear his efforts were seen by her, "But... DAMN IT! How can I trust this is even really you?! It's something I've been stuck on for so long because I just... you seem too good to be true... especially for someone like me who you'd think I'd be better off with an abusive or angry husband..." Knowing that keeping his mouth shut would be the best idea as of right now, that's exactly what Cyril decided to do, "I've experienced your care, and I love it. You showed me your husband like side... and I... I like it entirely too much. So if you know all this stuff, all these ways to please a female and ease them with such flow, why waste your time and effort on someone like me when, you could try that on any women and you'd immediately get laid for it?!" Thinking about the best way to approach this, Cyril didn't notice as Flair's head hung low: facing the ground now, "Why... I... I just..."
Sighing and knowing he'd die for this, Cyril knew what needed to be done, Welp... time for me to be single. Shedding tears to the floor, Flair noticed Cyril still hadn't said anything, and so, she believed he was thinking about it now. Is he finally understanding, after all this time, that I'm not worth it? Is he finally understanding that I... I don't... deserve anyone... like him... He's... He's... OH! Gasping rather loudly, her body suddenly jumped: noticing something gave a firm grip and squeeze of her right ass cheek. Faced to her right, a quick look to a blue smile, she knew exactly who it was, and Cyril chuckled for his actions. Since she hadn't said anything, but rather looked to his eyes, desperate for a reason as to why, he kept a show on his smile, "Because you've given me something no other girl has."
"And... what's that...?" Flair questioned with tears as she looked him in the eyes, noticing he was now showing tears of his own.
"Hope... and a reason to live..." Cyril murmured, closing his eyes for a second to let his tears flow, "When I first met you, you took my heart... and about a gallon of blood during the night," He chuckled, and surprisingly for him, she giggled, "But as time went on, I knew and trusted you so much more from this week alone. I trusted you with my life, my backstory, my heart... and even my soul. I'm... the same as you, Flair... Unless we end up together... I'd... I'd rather die alone. Losing you means... I lose everything. I have everything I need right now, so there will never be a need for fears of me leaving you. And I hope... you can say the same...?"
She was quick and immediate in her hug, not able to sit by and listen to his helpful words and cries any longer. Cyril smiled himself as well, using his paw to rub her back, trying to also wipe the tears that fell from his face and to her back. Crying over his back the same, Flair cried within her thoughts, but with a big smile. He's nothing like Argus... He's... He's... Mom... please... I know he's the one... If not him then... I... I... I guess I'll see you soon... or I'll be burning in hell for my suicide. Not wishing to think on this, a quick giggle helped her remember something, "Cyril... you know, for that ass grab, I might have to kill you."
"Oh..." Cyril's face and body grew wet from his sweat, "Hehe... hehehe..."
"But... I'll tell you what..." Backing from him, both paws were placed firmly to his chest as to support the arch of her body, knowing he was the only thing supporting her, "If you... give me a good show... from your skills or something else that doesn't involve sex... maybe... I'll allow the seduction, and even a pardon on the ass grab."
"Flair... don't take this the wrong way, but..."
"But... what?" She shivered in fear that her joy shouldn't have shown.
"Well, it's nothing bad, just... You're making it really hard for me not to do dirty things or have dirty thoughts of or with you... and... just in general, you're making it hard."
"Which... side of me do you like more? And I don't mean left or right, I mean... what do you want me to be? Who, do you want me to be?"
"Hehe... I want you to be you, Flair. Hehe, either way, thinking of you being easy to me, or being dominate just makes me... Ooooooh," Cyril shivered in pleasure and joy.
"You're talking about sex again, aren't you?"
"It is... pretty hot..."
"Ugh..." She sighed, but still held a smile, "You men are all the same."
You almost died?! With a sudden cry coming from the Chambers, the two looked to the door, then back to the other. Taking her paws down from his chest, she was the first to run to the door, quickly followed by Cyril. Opening the door inwards in case someone was too close from the outside, she ran into the Chambers. Running up to Volteer's side, but giving room for someone else, Cyril was already next to her as the two faced a tear shedding Cynder with a frowning Spyro. The two had moved from where they normally sat. For Cynder, she stood at the entrance, and for Spyro, he stood up the same in the middle of the Chambers. Seeing this helped Flair get back to where she needed to be, and with fins at full sharpness, her voice was heard to all, "What did you do to her?!" Even with the fear she had for Spyro, her body acted, forcing her forward and over to the crying female friend, "Cynder..." To the front of her, she blocked the view of Spyro with her wing so the two could focus and only talk to one another, "What happened...? What did he do to you...?" Cynder didn't wish to speak on it as she knew it would only hurt that much more to say it out loud, "Don't be afraid of him... What ever he did, you need to keep that power showing. But if you're afraid of him now, I'm sorry... I know you might love him, but maybe killing him would be the better option."
"Flair... no... he... I..." Cynder still couldn't find the words, mainly as the most she could bring was sniffles and cries.
Seeing Cynder so destroyed aggravated Flair to no end, so rather asking the secondary source, she took her chances and moved on to the main problem, "What, did you DO TO HER?!" Swinging her wing down, readying herself in a fighting position and blade to her side, she noticed Spyro's frown as well but didn't think too much of it, "Yesterday, I gave you praise for being something I never thought! I thought of you as a monster, that you weren't out for your own gain! Is this your way of breaking up with Cynder?! So you can go off and have sex with every female out there?!"
"Flair," Ignitus wished to stop her, and because his voice confused her, he was able to speak to his son, "Spyro... what... happened?"
Sighing at first, Spyro still wished to make this point very valid and stated, "Cynder's never had a life before. She's never had parents to love, friends to be with, or locations to go. No one was there to teach her the full extent of her powers aside from the helping paws of you all," Looking to Malefor, he directed to him first, "Malefor... you helped Cynder control the power of wind much more fluidly," To his next view, he looked to Ersa, "You helped show the potential of her powers when she helped me breathe, Ersa," Because no one really understood her powers, he couldn't look to anyone else, "And unfortunately... we don't understand her powers... and the same goes for the love of my life..." From the shed of a tear to a painful sigh, Spyro gave more on the story, "It's no secret me and Cynder have been having some fun with her poison, and of course her wind powers. But, as an experiment, we wanted to see what would come of her shadow and fear powers," Easing up now after a while, Flair wished to listen in more onto what had happened, "One thing good that came out of the use of fear, was the comfort of them, but because I want Cynder to know I trust her, I didn't wish for things to become anything more with the power, or at least, sexual wise."
"Sexual?" Flair growled, "What's wrong? Cynder not good enough for you, so you want her to use every ability possible for your own sick needs and then you'll dumb her?!"
"I don't want my love and emotions to be manipulated into a lie. I want her to know I love her, and I don't want to lie by not having my mind straight," He didn't wish for that to be the message, and it was something he had never thought on before, "The next ability that was used was shadow, but... what do you do with shadow? At first, Cynder was appearing in front of me, behind me, a little teasing and what not but... then I had the idea of... making out while in the ground."
"What?" Malefor questioned, and was just as confused as the others, "Hehe, damn, dog, you really are kinky."
"I wanted to know if it was different. Like if you kiss underwater, or you kiss on a cold day. I've never been through the shadows as Cynder has, and I've always wondered what it was like. So, she held onto me, we held onto hopes, and down we went. It's... actually crazy to say this, but... kissing in the darkness is rather... amazing. It's like our version of using lightning, but shadow dragons get their own space," Now coming up to the main point of what happened in the story, Spyro prepared himself to cry, but Cynder prepared herself to run, getting behind Flair even which she noticed, "Unfortunately, I couldn't breathe, but she could... One thing that both of us can't do either is talk... we can only see. I was... trying to signal in some way that I couldn't breathe, but I didn't know how to. I thought fast and signaled with my darkness to her. Cynder felt it, immediately grabbed both my sides, and flung us back up. She was quick to give me as much air as she could supply and, things went back to how they were."
"What?" Carith asked, and since she had clear view of Cynder hiding behind Flair, she asked her, "So then, what's wrong, Cynder? Or is Spyro not telling the whole..."
"IT DOESN'T MATTER!" Cynder yelled out, ducking low as she didn't wish to be seen, "I could've killed him! And even though I didn't, Spyro was struggling: in pain because of me and feeling as his heart and lungs wished to burst for his lack of oxygen!" No matter what was thought of to her, she couldn't keep herself calm about it, "I get Spyro was joking when he said I could kill him, I get that none of this matters because his darkness could've helped him in the end anyway but... Who the hell could I be to someone I could call a mate?! If I can hurt Spyro when he's my friend: when he's my lover! Then the same would be for us as mates, and what would happen if I one day do something to hurt... to hurt..." It took all the strength in the world to keep herself calm, but it wasn't enough to hold the pain of what she had to say out loud, "To hurt my hatchling...?"
"Cynder, you didn't hurt me," After hearing this, Spyro stepped in as he couldn't let her vent any longer, "Remember what we talked about last night. You wanted to run away then, and you want to now, but please... remember what had after..." Taking small steps close to her, it was an easy memory refresh as he remembered exactly what he said last night, "I didn't know how to control my powers back when I saved you. I wanted to get stronger: I wanted to protect you. In the process of me trying to control these powers, I burned Ignitus rather badly. But even though I tried to run away, it was you who stopped me at the door, and you told me, 'Don't beat yourself up for not being able to control an unpredictable flame, especially since you're still so new at it. I know what it's like to hurt someone even when you don't want to, which is why you try your best to make up for those mistakes. So please...'" Stopping what he had to say and taking more steps closer to her, her head barely peaked out to see him smiling to her, "'Walk back with me, and the next time you use your power, understand that, your powers can do more then harm. Even just now... feeling your warmth... I feel safe'."
Everyone gave their own sniffles to hear this, and even Malefor had to wipe some tears from his eyes, "Damn, Cynder... you got the whole squad crying."
"It's so weird that, even with an emotional moment such as this, your voice ruins it," Volteer had no fear in taking a jab at him.
"Damn man. Quick little one out of left field, don't you think?"
"Psst, Cynder," Looking back behind herself, Flair looked down to Cynder and had a perfect idea, "Do what I did with Cyril yesterday. I was afraid of what he might've done to me as punishment if I ever did something to him. Do that to Spyro. See how he might punish you for an act on his life, I guess you could say, even though I know you didn't mean for pain to be caused," Cynder took her words to heart and agreed to do it with a nod, but before she was able to speak, Flair faced back to Spyro, "You know, Spyro, I really don't appreciative this fear Cynder has for you. Has there been a time where she's hurt you before and you punished her for it?"
"What?" Spyro felt awful to have to think about such a thing now, "No, of course not. I've never punished Cynder before and never will."
"And what would you do?" Cynder stepped out from behind Flair, facing him now with an intense stare: almost into his soul, wanting to know the truth from her lover, "You never punished me for the attack I made against you in the Volcano-and I don't care for the excuse that I was being controlled!" Spyro slapped his mouth shut as he was ready to say something, but after that, he had nothing, "You never did anything after your parents died, or when I wanted to attack you in the Training Room after that nightmare of the future. But what if, at some point, I did do something that required punishment?"
"Hehe, well, I mean..."
"You still play with chains, don't you!" Malefor laughed out loud as he knew exactly where that was going.
"We do NOT!"
"Haha! Oh, is that so? So, you're telling me, if I go upstairs right now and head into your room, I won't find any kind of chain?" Spyro stopped as he had to think about it, only making Malefor's point more valid, "Hehe, damn! Nothing?! You're not even trying to hide it at this point!"
"Wait," Flair stopped the two, "You two play around with the idea that your lover is chained, Spyro?"
"I do-ugh! It's like, a thrill thing! I like the idea of a battle, I save her, and we go home!"
"I do?" Malefor chuckled, "Nice cover."
"Moving on!" Spyro wished for this conversation to end.
"Cynder, do you approve of this?" Flair wanted to make sure.
"Oh, well..." Blushing rather hard, Cynder unfortunately had to give it up, "I... had an idea where Spyro is actually the one who captured me... Rather chained to the floor, I was... chained to the wall by both my arms so I'd have to stand and he could... look at my... entire underneath..." Now saying it out loud, it sounded beyond sexual, and seeing reactions such as head shakes and blushes, now Cynder wished to get back on track, "But that's no one's business!" Taking a page out of Flair's book, she showed teeth to Spyro, "Just tell me what my punishment is so we can get this over with! I'm so sick and tired of doubting you, so just... what shall you have me do."
"First: Malefor, say sex, hehe, and I'll surely gut you," Malefor closed his mouth, so now Spyro could continue, "Second: Cynder... if there was at any point that I would want... punishment from you... the thing I'd want is..."
Cynder held her breath the same as the others, but for her especially, her mind went wild onto what it could be, What could Spyro possibly want?! He's never seem so kinky before to want to... do it, so it couldn't be that! Maybe we had a story he'd like to continue, or catch up on, like when he found me in the woods all by my lonesome... UGH! What am I talking about?! This is punishment! Not pleasure... but even still... it's... Spyro. Holding onto both hope and fear for what was to be said, Cynder and the others listened as he gave out what he wished, "I'd like to train without upsetting you..."
It was a difficult ask, and rather her fearing, Spyro was the one who ducked his head back, afraid of what she might say. Cynder gave wide eyes to this, while others smiled as they knew this was exactly what Spyro would've wanted. Because she was so confused as to why he'd ask such a thing, especially after what she had done, her voice let slip, "Wh... why...?"
Swallowing hard, Spyro tried his best to convince her, "It's just... after yesterday, I've been wanting to talk with Kettu and Xvar about the past. Knowing that the Dark Master is becoming more active, maybe by seeing what's happened, and understanding his pain, I can better relate. That way, I can help Kettu, Xvar, the Dark Master, and their kind. Obviously it sounds easier then what might actually be needed in execution, but, every journey begins with a single step..."
"OH! Volteer, please, you have to know this!" Malefor looked to his friend with shining eyes.
"Ugh... fine... but only this one time," Volteer knew what he was asking.
"Haha! Yes! But make sure to really put your voice into it," Clearing both their throats, the two spoke as they did, "Every journey begins with a single step. This, is step one."
"What the hell is happening?" Cyril asked in complete confusion.
"Step One!" Volteer smiled wide as he showed his nerdy side.
"Secure the keys!" Malefor and Volteer cheered.
"What are you two talking about?!" Cyril once again asked.
"The steps to freedom!" Malefor and Volteer smiled, and as to continue once again, Volteer said, "Step Two!"
"Ascend from darkness!" Malefor and Volteer spoke with manly voices.
"But, the question I have for you is, which step is your favorite?" Volteer asked his purple friend.
"Oh, definitely 'Skewer the winged beast'!" Malefor gave his opinion, "I mean, like, the word, 'Skewer', and then you got that bass, 'Winged BEAST'!"
"So, why not, 'Wield a fist of Iron?'"
"Ooooooh, that's good too! OH! I JUST HAD A FANTASTIC IDEA!" Malefor laughed rather happily which completely confused Flair, but for the Guardians, and the others, they smiled to see such joy, "I already have my sniper rifle, a possible rpg, and maybe a sidearm like a pistol, BUT! What if I really DID, wield, the fist of Iron, by making my own death machine! My very own minigun!" Touching all up on his body for a second, everyone backed their heads, aside from Carith as her mouth watered, "Oooooooh... just thinking about the sound as the bullets shoot out with the metal pinging for the bullets popping out the side! Hehehehe..."
"How did we get here?" Flair had no idea had this conversation even happened.
"It's usually like that around here," Cynder smiled to Flair, "But... Spyro..." Getting his attention, he faced her, "If you... truly wish to train... after what I did, it's the least I could do for you..." Taking a step to her, she stopped him, "I just need to cool down, my love. I know... it was in a way... unavoidable... it's just... difficult... to know I hurt you is all."
Spyro still smiled to her which she appreciated, "Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe it was just the fact that you were sucking the life out of me as we kissed," Cynder smiled to his words, and since he knew she was better, he faced Flair, "Hey... I know this may sound strange for me to say, but... Flair... could you watch Cynder for me?"
"What?" Flair was shocked to hear him ask her.
"What?!" Malefor took that as a shot to the gut, "Bu-bu-but... Spyro! Cynder's like, a daughter to me! She's been a way for me to teach up on how to be a better parent!"
"You... think of me, as your daughter?" Cynder was rather surprised to hear.
"I was the one who took your life away from you, so what better way to help you get that back then by giving you what you should've had when you were first born?" Giving Cynder a smile, Malefor wanted her to know he was being truthful, "By acting as a parent to you, you'll have the father figure you couldn't before. You have the information on power control, random stories that parents just talk about to relate to, and if, Carith would like... you could even have a mother figure."
Cynder didn't know what to say to this, but for Carith, she smiled, already knowing exactly what to say, "If you wouldn't mind, I would actually... agree to that, if you would accept me as such," A tear shed to Cynder's eyes to hear the support from the two, "After all, we've spent the most amount time together, I always check up on you in the mourning in a sense once we wake up, and just the same as Malefor, it would help me get experience, but, it would also help you get experience the same."
No words came to mind for Cynder. The backing from both, the smiles they gave, and the comfort she already knew the two could provide, thoughts did now show to her for what it would he like if they were her parents. However, to ruin the moment, Malefor laughed out loud, having an idea come to his mind, "Hahaha! Spyro! That would be hilarious!" Spyro growled to hear what sounded like him laughing at actually being her parent, and some of the others thought so the same since he didn't detail what he meant at first, "If she's my daughter, I'll look at you and be like, 'Have her home before eight, champ'. Or, 'So, what interest do you have in my daughter?'."
"Okay, yeah, that's not happening," Spyro was now completely against this idea all together.
"Hey, Spyro," From out of the blue, Ignitus suddenly spoke up, "When you talk with Kettu and Xvar, be careful on some of that information. I'll admit and say that we, the Ancestors, do try to lie ourselves as the past was a... lot more complicated then it may seem. I can't see or hear what you three will discuss in your dark forms, so I can't stop by and tell you what actually happened."
"Which, I actually had an idea," Now bringing up what he wanted to fill in as a blank, Spyro faced Malefor, "Malefor, you can't watch Cynder because... I need you in the Training Room with me."
"What? Why do you... need..." His eyes widened, knowing exactly why he wanted him there, "No... No no no! Absolutely not!"
"Malefor, come on..."
"No! I'm not letting the Dark Master join our little conversation!"
"What?!" Now the others caught on.
"We need to put a foot forward on this. We were able to conversate with him yesterday."
"'YOU', were able to conversate with the Dark Master yesterday. Meanwhile, I was too busy fighting back his darkness that was crawling through every vein in my body!" Malefor showed his teeth to this constant wishing of friendship between them and the Dark Master, "Spyro, look, agree or disagree, but the Dark Master needs to die. Stop trying to friend him, stop trying to see this as a step in the right direction; it's just... It's a stupid idea! Stop trying to forget what he did, too! Volteer can't go home to his parents, neither can Cyril, you, Cynder, better yet: more like half THE GODDAMN EARTH!"
"I know what he's done because you constantly remind me!" Spyro growled, having prepared for him to say otherwise, though hearing him be reminded still got him flustered, "You always bitched because I saw you as nothing more then a threat, a monster, and I wanted you dead every single waking second! The Dark Master could've had difficulties too, and we've never given him the chance to prove his innocence..."
"Innocence?! Is that supposed to be a joke?!"
"Malefor..."
"No! You said you wanted him to control the dark army and end the need for the wall! You said it's because he's pure darkness! So then, why don't we just kill him, get someone from the dark realm which I always forget the name of, and just force that weaker dragon into keeping peace?! The dragon doesn't infect our bodies so we could easily kill it if it tried something, and we'd be way more powerful to take care of it in the event of retaliation."
"Ah, so, you'd enslave this dragon to do our biding?" Spyro raised a brow in disgust for this.
"I didn't say enslave."
"So then, enlighten me. What will happen to this dragon when we FORCE HIM OR HER, to do our dirty work?"
"What do you mean, force? If the dark dragon can control the dark forces, then we wouldn't confine it to one place, but... Spyro, come on! You can't really trust a dark dragon to roam free when it could cause earth destructing plans. What if they bring back the Destroyer, what if they find some other weapon from the past only they know about-I mean... You don't know!"
"I do trust dark dragons to roam free, which is exactly why I let Kettu and Xvar roam free while I enjoyed my time with Cynder," Before Spyro was even able to answer the other questions, Malefor continued in a fit of rage.
"And how do you know they didn't kill someone while they were off? How do you know they didn't kill the survivors they were searching for since you let them roam all on their own?! You've put so much trust in them when they've never done anything for you. And them, keeping you from dying doesn't count since they need you to be alive for them to live as well. They've already made it very clear too that they don't care about us: they only care about your safety and Cynder's because of your ideals. They're just... heartless monsters!"
"MALEFOR!"
The darkness from within Spyro suddenly spat out from his mouth, forcing an even more demonic voice then that of even his darkened form. This voice and power; the show of darkness that almost looked like molten black lava sent chills and fears to everyone around. While not needed, Flair brought up a wing and tried her best to back and protect Cynder from what ever was happening. The others watched in dismay for Spyro's struggling body. Having been forced to his knees, his breath was heavy, his eyes clenched closed, as did a paw to his chest, and sweat showed from all around. No one was able to even get near, feeling an extreme, burning heat surrounding his body, so much so that the floor beneath him proceeded to melt. Taking a heavy breath in, before letting one out, Spyro gave a powerful shiver, trying his best to keep himself calm, and the others, "Calm down, Kettu... Xvar... just, b-b-b... breathe..." Malefor now felt horrible as he knew now why this had happened, "We can talk in the Training Room... but not here... not where the others... could get hurt..." Spyro continued to talk to himself, trying to comfort the two raging Dark Dragons that burned deep within him, "Please... breathe..." His shivers continued, feeling their blood lust within his own claws: teeth the same as he felt the thirst for biting down and breaking the neck of a dragon, "Remember what we talked about... remember how much good has come from this... alliance... Show that... son of a bitch... he's wrong..."
Malefor didn't dare say anything to that: definitely not now. Thankfully to the others, it seemed Spyro's ease was working. The darkness grew back to it's standard color of a more gentle, smooth like black. The feeling of a melting heat eased back down and withdrew back into his body, now stopping the area around him from melting even more so then it already had. Colors returned now with the darkness backing into his body, showing the usual purple, gold, and orange. Not really fearing if he was to hurt her or not, Cynder walked from out of the protection of Flair's wing, giving Spyro a perfect view on her body. To make sure things were safe, her darkness activated, doing the same to his. Each had completely different heartbeats. Cynder's was sped, but still in a comfortable position. Spyro's though was much, much faster, hitting his chest at almost three beats a second. Finally able to let off one more shiver, Spyro now felt the power to speak, "Let's... never do that... again..." Just to prove a point, and to give props to the two, he defended them, "Heartless monsters, you say? They could've ripped you to shreds. They could've ignored me and gone after you, and being completely honest, I wouldn't have been able to stop them. But they listened, they felt I was scared, and they worked with me. They may want to break your jaw, and even though they know they could kill you, they won't."
Malefor understood somewhat now, so he wished to correct his previous statements, "That still doesn't clear the Dark Master. If he's heartless, why can't we kill him, get someone like Kettu and Xvar, and invite them into the family?"
"Let's talk about this in the Training Room," Trying to move to head up there, he couldn't, and after struggling for a couple more seconds, he looked down to see his arms and legs melted into the floor below, "Ugh... Um... that's... that's not good..."
"I'll help that real quick," Ignitus wished to be of help, and with a quick raise of his paw and a snap, a white light showed to the area around him.
Once the light had died down, Spyro now stood to the top of the floor, and the molten surroundings were now repaired. Able to walk, Spyro made his way out of the Chambers, but stopped by Flair's left side for a second to speak with her, "Flair... I want you to protect Cynder for many reasons: one of which is the show of trust. You are more battle ready then anyone else, so if anything happens, please protect her long enough for Cynder to signal me so I can come by and help."
"I got her," Flair felt confident in her ability to protect Cynder, "You just go deal with the anger management issues that you males all have."
Even from the jab, Spyro still smiled as he knew Cynder's life would be well and protected. Walking around the back if the two now, Spyro and Malefor made their way down the hallway and headed for the house upstairs. Waiting for a second so the two wouldn't be within hearing range, Flair looked down the hallway, saw the two disappear, and was finally able to say what she wanted to, "Cynder! You can't be serious about loving someone like him!" She was confused in her saying, "Look at how unstable he could be! He walked off without kissing you, without making sure you were alright, without doing... anything! He doesn't care about you, and you need to move on from him. Him saving your life DOESN'T MEAN you should give your life to him so willingly."
"Flair, give him a break," Cynder came to her lover's defense, "He's under a lot of stress right now."
"How? Because from where I'm standing, he's putting that stress on himself. If it's true that Dark Dragons are just like us, then that would mean we could literally get anyone else aside from the Dark Master to do this simple job. The Dark Master dies, someone else takes his places, we befriend that dragon, and move on."
"Because Spyro always sees the good in people, and believes that all deserve the chance of redemption."
"Yeah. A family killer, a GENERATION KILLER, is totally a great someone that deserves such help."
"Maybe he has more plans behind it, but either way, I'm not going to hate on him because of what he's going through. I mean, look around at us right now. We each could do whatever we wanted, when we want: without feeling the need to be forced to do something, or to fear doing it. Spyro's putting everyone before him because he wants us to benefit, even at the cost of his life. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here, Ersa wouldn't, Claire wouldn't, and maybe even Cyril if you had killed him and left even yourself," The points Cynder had brought up were difficult to argue with, and since Flair couldn't think of something fast enough, her views continued, "It also doesn't help that Spyro knows what the Dark Master has done, because Malefor constantly reminds him."
"So why are you not giving a voice against this whole ordeal? If you'd be against it, then so would Spyro."
"Because..."
"He took your life away!" Flair made sure to raise her voice to keep Cynder from saying something so quickly, "Remember what he did! And I know I may sound like Malefor here, but unfortunately, he's right. Your parents are dead. You live a life in constant fear because you never had anyone there for you. You couldn't swim, you couldn't look at snow because of the blood stained memories, and you can't even be sure that you'll make a great mother because you think the Terror Of The Skies will take over and kill the only one you have that makes you human!" Having believed she had the momentum in her argument, Flair didn't let up, "If you think Spyro's so strong, then why doesn't he just wipe the population of the dark army, kill the two dark masters, and end this shitty war? Hell, I'd do it before my heart even had the chance of beating."
"And what would Kettu and Xvar think about that?" Cynder still had many points to go against her in case something like this was brought up, "Spyro has given them hope that one day, they really could be free from their own war too. If we simply kill their kind because they're evil, who's really the villain then? If we show Kettu and Xvar that we'd easily kill their kind when they haven't done such a thing to us, they will never trust us. Spyro will have another headache to deal with, and it just... it..." She gave a sigh as this was all too much, "I trust, Spyro... always should... and always want to. I won't stop him from this because I see his passion, and I know what he's doing is right. I stopped him when he wanted to banish you, when he wanted to kill Malefor... but... I don't believe this is one of those times."
"In all honesty too, this might be a good thing," Volteer had his own views on how this stuff would work too, "If we are to believe that Dark Dragons operate the same as our own, then they'd have a brain as well. A brain helps in many forms of informational delivery, one as such being the limbic cortex. In it, when you feel joy, you'll generally develop positive thoughts and or feelings. Another thing that could be beneficial in the long run is Spyro's attempts at episodic memory, located in the prefrontal cortex and the hippocampus. This helps the conscious recall personal experiences, and from what we've already seen, the Dark Master hears what we say, so if Spyro constantly shows love and support, maybe the Dark Master could sooner or later see him as an ally, similar to Kettu and Xvar."
"And you wonder why we have so much sex," Ersa was very pleased to hear such knowledge on all things closely related to this topic, and he gave a happy chuckle.
"I thought you said it was because I have such a huge coc-"
"NOT, relevant, to the topic!" Ignitus was quick to raise his voice.
"Yeah, that too," Ersa giggled, but Ignitus's yell did help her get back to what needed to be discussed, "To add on too, remember back, aside from I guess you, Flair, and you too, Trish. But, back when we thought Spyro had died, Kettu and Xvar showed. They cared nothing for us, even wanting to attempt the life of each of us, mainly Malefor. But they've grown more then what they use to be, specifically when it came to wanting Malefor died. They've seemed more, relaxed, thanks to Spyro's efforts of course, but also us, as we don't see them as monsters, and we treat them with respect," To add more on to what Volteer had said, she defended Cynder, "Also, while there is a small possibility that we could get another Dark Dragon, the Dark Master seems way more experienced, and way more powerful. We kill the Dark Master and now Malefor's left without an extra power source. If those two could find a way to work together, then they'd be more powerful then probably even Spyro, unless he was pissed off."
"To me, it sounds like he just wants something to fight," Flair remembered back to yesterday, "He seems to crave the need to bleed. Even after the fight with Malefor, he even saw it himself, how he begged for more."
"And that's true too. Spyro's looking for the best of every world. If the Dark Master joins our side, he can make up for what he's done, he'd be a perfect sparring partner for Spyro, and his abilities to control the dark forces would all but end the war. It's a big ask but... we need him on our side," Because this certain someone wasn't here, Ersa felt it be best to bring this up, "Flair... Spyro's not here, so if you want to openly admit something, we understand. Even to this day, I fear Spyro, even just a small bit. But look at the life we have now. Nothing is happening, we can do and talk as we please, and there's no fear in waking up and expecting someone to die."
Flair gave a sigh to everything that was being discussed, and to the headache Volteer had given her from his information dumping. Just because he knew the words would reach her differently being said by them instead of him, Cyril wanted to say it himself, "Flair... You've always been scared your past would come back to haunt you, but... look at the family you have now... If you want to talk with the girls, please do so... If you... want to go to your room so we can cuddle and talk, we can do that too... You should feel free to do things, not scared. If something happens between Spyro or Malefor, that's what their lover's are for. A quick kiss and they're back to their usual selves."
While not showing much progress, hearing it be said by Cyril did help Flair, "Fine... whatever. As long as it doesn't interfere with my daily life, then he can do as he pleases. But, Cynder, we do need to talk about your relationship with him. Mainly about the whole chain thing. I mean, aren't the chains supposed to be like, a traumatic memory for you since... that's when you were corrupted?"
"Hehe, I've said this before but, it's a way to fill my mind with anything but what's happened. Say I was corrupted by the Ape King. Well, what if, in reality, Spyro dealt with all the Apes, came to my rescue, and as a thank you, I make out with him."
"Wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wait," Volteer found a plot hole in that story, "But... if that were true... wouldn't you two be like... three years old?"
Dripping sweat as she realized this now, Cynder blew a raspberry as she didn't think about that, "No! I'd technically be... eighteen..."
"Which would make you over thirty today."
"I really hope it doesn't take Spyro that long to become my mate."
"Now you know how I feel with Ignitus," Claire sighed.
"What?!" Ignitus clearly understood that.
"Now you all know how I feel with Terrador," Trish gave her own sigh.
"Oh, come on. We kissed, didn't we?" Terrador smiled, and from him bringing this back up, she smiled rather happily.
"You two kissed?!" The others were all surprised to hear.
"Oh my gosh! We haven't even talked about that night yet!" Trish clapped rapidly, both with joy and excitement as she wanted to tell them.
Just... go easy, alright? Sat down in the middle of the Training Room, Spyro awaited for Malefor who wasn't too far behind. Spyro sat facing the door with his back to the wall, whereas Malefor sat, back to the door and facing the wall across from him. Now that the two had made it up to where they needed to be, Malefor gave his concerns, "Before we start, I'd like to-OOF!"
Being cut off from a massive pain, first he felt a fist to his stomach that was hard enough of a hit to kick his body up some. Next was a punch to the side of his throat, and because of the airtime he already had from the first punch, this next one sent his body to the floor, a good couple feet away from Spyro now as it bounced and slid to the ground. Growling as he knew exactly who it was, once getting to his side and looking over his shoulder, he noticed Kettu and Xvar both standing exactly where he once was. Spitting blood to the ground before wiping off the blood from his lips, Malefor snarled, "Who taught you two how to hit? Your boyfriends?"
"How about your mom," Kettu growled back at him.
"Implying that she hit us first, before we had to hit back, only with more force. So much in fact that she died," Xvar showed teeth the same.
"Tough talk from some punk ass little-"
"Enough! All of you!" Spyro stopped the three before anything else was said or done, "Malefor, you're lucky they don't kill you! And you should feel EXTREMELY lucky to still feel your heart in your chest!" Because something had been said, Malefor understood that the two could've done a lot worse then what they had, "And for you two... I just... I..." Giving a sigh, Kettu and Xvar noticed his shivers, "I trust you two... I truly do... but even still, I'm scared of what you two can do. I want to say right now that I'm thankful you didn't harm him anymore then what you did, and I understand your aggravated. Just don't let that be what you become."
"Spyro, we get it, you're scared of us," Kettu was the first to calm himself.
"But don't think we aren't scared of you, too. Your fears are the same as ours, mainly at the fact that what we can do, so can you," Xvar was next to ease, though him talking about things of sensitive nature out loud made things a little more uncomfortable, "You could kill us, we could kill you. You could betray us, we could betray you. Anything we can do, so can you, so understand just that much more that we are more then just pawns for you to use."
"Have I... ever done something like that before?" Spyro asked in a rather low, depressed sounding tone which helped the two understand he was serious, "Has there ever been a point where I've used you two simply because I knew it'd only benefit me?"
"Not yet..." Kettu made sure to keep an open mind.
"And we hope it will stay like that," Xvar finished saying.
"Don't go thinking you two are innocent," Malefor stayed disgusted to the two.
"And what have we done for you to think of us as villains?" Kettu tried to stay calm.
"Sucker punching, which is more of a bitch move. Funny too, because, after feeling that punch, I felt more bone then skin from you two."
"Oh you'll feel bone. Like the bone will rip out of your body and beat the ever-living shit out of you with!" Xvar fired back.
"Enough!" Spyro once again had to step in and stop the three from bickering, "I can understand friendly banter, but this is not what I want to see!" Just as a way of trust testing, he wanted the three to answer honestly, "If there was ever a time that I needed you two to save Malefor's life, would you do it?! And the same goes for you, Malefor. If they needed you, would you save them?" Neither of the three answered, but rather gave intense glares to one another, "Malefor... I know you're scared about the darkness, I know what it's done, and I understand your concerns... But Kettu and Xvar are family. Think of what they could've done, what damage they could've already caused if they were evil."
"And what makes you think they aren't building that trust up to knock you down later?" Malefor gave a fair point.
"Because we already have a destroyed world," Kettu spoke, "If we come here, and destroy this planet, what then? If we travel back to our realm, or even here now, it'll be nothing but dust and echoes."
"You may not trust us, but you've never given us a reason to trust you," Xvar had his own valid reasons, "If we wanted to kill someone, we could. Spyro's given us enough control that we could easily leap out of his body and murder, but we don't. Because just like you, even with the darkness that we endure, thinking about how fun life could be shows to our minds."
"So that should help you understand that we could easily kill Carith, we could easily kill you, but we choose not to, mainly because you don't pose a threat to us. However, you bashing our kind and way of life because of the actions of one singular dragon is beyond annoying. So if you want us to continue being, friendly, you better show the same respect we show you."
Malefor still showed teeth to the two, steeping in a way that provoked the two to make a small side step of their own, awaiting an attack. Though his anger burned, and his teeth grinded in anger, a heavy sigh left his lips as he tried to ease, "Then make me a promise, and I'll see where this new alliance takes us," Kettu and Xvar listened closely, as did Spyro, "If you two are serious, then promise that no harm will be had to my family. Promise me, that you two are living and breathing, and that you're simply looking for the high life now. I already have the Dark Master to fear when it comes to me becoming Carith's mate, and I don't need another wave of stress blocking any hope or future I have with her."
Spyro shivered as he knew this was getting somewhere, and he had high hopes that Kettu and Xvar would listen. Though it wasn't going to be that easy to convince the two, and both stayed on high alert. To at least give an answer, Xvar spoke, "As our first promise, no harm shall come to those who don't harm us, or at least those who don't infuriate us. However, don't be surprised if harm comes to you. While we do live and breathe, we still itch for the need of battle. Spyro's of course the best, but as you said, two on one isn't all too fun."
"So, you two aren't into threesomes?" Malefor chuckled just as a joke.
"The hell kind of question is that?!" The two Dark Dragons spoke in unison, and Kettu had a follow up, "Are you asking because... I mean, I thought you picked on Volteer for swinging that way but, are you admitting that you're...?"
"WHAT?! No! It was just...! Ugh! Never mind! Let's just move on and get to the reason why we're here."
"Right," Spyro was in complete agreement over this saying as well, "Malefor, make sure your darkness is on the entire time Kettu and Xvar are speaking. We don't want the Ancestors to know what we're talking about. And-I know-I know... I know... I know you're scared, but... look at the breakthrough you made with Kettu and Xvar. I know it's not instantaneous, and there's always room to grow, but this is the step we need to make to get things back in the right direction, so..." Taking a sigh as he knew this would cause problems, Spyro still wanted to let it be known, "Dark Master... If you can hear us... I wouldn't mind if you were to join in on this conversation. Maybe you could convince me into destroying the world or something like that. So please feel free to be active."
"Wait... but if he does feel the need to talk to us..." Malefor let off a powerful shiver, "Spyro! No, I-I-I... I can't do that!"
"Malefor, yes, you can. Trust me."
"You don't understand what that means! What if my fears come true?! What if, I see darkness, I see light, but as I wake, Carith's dead?! Someone else is dead beneath my paws, and you'll never see me as a friend ever again in your life?!" Starting to hyperventilate on it now, the feeling made him believe the Dark Master was trying to take him over even now, "Ignitus... Volteer... Spyro! I could... I could kill them! I... I..."
"Quit your bitching," Kettu shuck his head to see this sudden change from how he normally acted.
"Honestly. You act tough but whine your little ass off at the thought of conflict?" Xvar shuck his head the same.
"You don't know what it's like!" Malefor yelled to the two, "You don't have someone you love, you don't have future plans, you don't have... the need to do something right after doing nothing but wrong for so many years... Things are looking up, and while we still have bumps here and there like Flair at first, and then her awful day, it's nothing like a war... But what if... what if..." Looking to his paws, they trembled as all he could see was blood, "What if this is it...? What if this sparks the conflict that we all have to deal with... and because of me... we'll never go back to what we have right now..."
"Nothing's going to happen you big cry hatchling," Kettu sighed to have to be the one to comfort him.
"We've already tested the Dark Master's power when he was trying to gain control over your body. He's strong, but he's also smart. He wouldn't take us on because he know it'd be a quick loss," Xvar gave Malefor hope and ease the more he spoke, "We just spoke about trust, so what better way then to show you that trust now. We could've sided with him then, and we could now if he tried, but we won't. Just know that we'll want a battle with you for the help we're providing. That shouldn't be too much of a ask."
Spyro sat on the sidelines and smiled, mainly because the two not only helped Malefor in his fears, but his own as well. Taking some breaths as to calm himself, Malefor trusted in what they had to say, "Can't argue with something I agree with..." It was still a struggle to keep calm, "You hear that, you son of a bitch! Don't try anything! We're here to help you, and discuss the past. So rather then being an annoying prick, join in on the conversation," Speaking to the Dark Master, the other wondered if he would respond, but with no movement from Malefor, and his voice after, it didn't seem like he did, "Ugh... he'll probably interrupt at some point."
"Just get ready for when he does," Though not needed, Spyro wanted to say this as a way to prepare himself too.
"Hehe, it was... amazing~" Purring as she talked about the night she had with Terrador, Trish was able to look to the others at points, and since Flair now sat back down with Cyril, though to his right so Cynder had space to sit down to her right, everyone was able to listen in comfort, "It could've turned on its head too because, even though we did kiss, Terrador pushed me off, I cried and tried to run before I ruined something else in his life, but of course... he didn't hurt me... and the only one who truly would've been hurt that night, would've been him, if I had left... And this was after all I said about how he should never think about being alone ever again..."
"So your night went well too?" Ersa and the others were happy to hear, "And after that lick you gave Cyril, Flair, I'm guessing you two are...?"
"Lick?!" Claire wasn't there for this, nor was Carith and Cynder as the three gave her wide eyes, "Lick where?!"
"The hell you mean, where?!" Flair growled for this to have been brought up, "We were in the hallway! If he were to lick me where you think he did, do you honestly believe he'd still be alive?!"
"I mean, he's not dead after you two were spooning so..." Claire and the others in the Sleeping Chambers had noticed before they had left.
"WH...?! How do you all know about that?!"
"Before we left, we saw you two snuggling," Trish giggled.
"Snuggling? More like boning," Ersa giggled the same.
"We didn't have sex!" A rather hard blush showed to Flair's cheeks.
"And once again, you still don't deny the enjoyment it gave you."
"Ersa, you're walking a very thin line!"
"Maybe that would help," Volteer hadn't really heard what was previously said as he was focusing on something else, and this at first confused the others, "Now now now, Flair, hear me out. Maybe having sex would be a good thing for you."
"Are you really having this conversation with me?" She grumbled.
"I'm a man of science, and simply wish to educate, not embarrass," Flair wished to see past if he was lying or not, but with no blush or stutter in his voice, Volteer did seem rather serious in his attempts to help her, "Sex can help relive stress by raising your endorphins, as well as other forms of hormones that boost mood. It's also a great form of exercise that helps calm you too. But other benefits it can bring can come in many forms, such as but not limited to: a healthier immune system, lowering of your blood pressure, a decreased risk of heart attacks, lessening of pain, and improved sleep."
"If you have sex like, every night with Ersa, then why haven't I see these positive effects?" Flair didn't believe what he was saying to be true at all, "You're always so up in arms to attack me, even blocking Ersa when I was attacking Cyril rather then helping him."
"Trust me when I say, he's very much different," Terrador assured her, "Usually, he would've hit every pressure point in your body to make you spew foam," Having not been with him as long as he has, Flair, and even some of the others gave a raised brow to Volteer's different behavior, "Being with Volteer as long as I have, Ersa has my greatest of thanks. We all use to be different; on the edge and ready for a fight at any second, mainly the fight being between him and Cyril. But since Ersa's safe return after so many years, I'm glad to hear that things are going great between the two."
"Cyril tried to kill Cynder... Cyril fought constantly with Volteer over something he had no control over... Cyril sexually harasses me every single waking second..." Thinking about Cyril more and more out loud, he dropped sweat as he was afraid of the conclusion Flair come to, "You sure have quite the journey ahead of you to get my full and desired trust. All because I've enjoyed my time with you, that doesn't mean you can't improve."
"Which, as Ignitus once said, no one is perfect, because being perfect means you can't improve, and I know I always need to do that for you to prove I deserve you," Cyril gave her a warm smile, and from his sudden use of a perfect, heartwarming message, she blushed, giving wide eyes even, "And to make sure you can hear and see that I'm truly sorry... Cynder..." Facing her first, he frowned, even though she smiled, "I'm sorry for what I thought of you... and I'm sorry for making an attempt at your life..." She nodded to him, and now faced to his left, he looked to his brother who sat right next to him, "And I'm sorry to you as well, Volteer... I know I didn't make the years easy on you either..."
"Dude, chill!" Slapping his back, Cyril coughed as it was sudden from Volteer, "You've apologized like, a hundred times now. There's nothing more that I'd want then what I have now. Perfect mate, amazing sex life, and all the friends and family I could ever ask for," Talking about what they had now, Volteer chuckled, seeing the differences between him and the others, "Hehe, now talking about sex and what not, y'all need to get laid or something. I'm over here having a blast and you three, including Malefor and Spyro always seem so bummed, like your missing something. Some real action."
"Come on, Terrador," Trish tugged at Terrador's arm now, "Let me help you gain all those benefits. You already enjoyed the taste of my mouth, so don't let your tongue be the only thing you use to enter me."
"Goddamn, Trish!" Almost everyone cried to see the lust in her eyes, but also mainly from what she had said.
"Yeah, it'd be great and all to do it, but... you all have seen how well that's turn out for me," Carith sighed as, at this point, she was contemplating on tying Malefor down at this point, "If only the Dark Master wasn't alive, if only he didn't exist, I know Malefor would make me his mate; I know he'd..." Once again giving a sigh, she couldn't figure out what to do, "Do I say it, or let him say it? I know he's holding off because he's scared but... so am I... I... I'm just so... unbelievably scared..."
"Why?" Flair wondered just as much as the others, and her saddened voice made the others frown.
"Because... what if... what if something happens that keeps up from ever becoming more than what we are now? We split apart, we break up, we die... it's just... I don't know how the world operates, but what if I'm destined to 'not' become Malefor's mate...? What if life chooses differently and I suddenly end up with someone else entirely? All those memories, all that time spent with him, we'll forever look at one another with uneasiness, and speak with... disgust... over the other."
Even for Volteer and Ersa whom were easily able to smile felt the pain and frown that all the others did for Carith's words. Carith sat in silence, having nothing more to say out loud: now heading to her thoughts to continue with her dark future. Just thinking about me and Malefor apart... who would he be without me... and would he ever be the same... would I... ever be the same? Her thoughts pained her, but once hearing a rather powerful sigh, Carith looked up and saw it was from Flair, "Sheesh, Carith. Even for someone like me, who's barely been here longer then the others, even I can't imagine that happening. We already saw the world when you two were apart, and we're experiencing the world when you two are together now, so do you honestly think he'd ever leave you?" Some tilted their heads up with eyes raised to hear this good point, "I know how you feel though... I mean, look at me... I thought me and Argus would never drift apart... I already had the name for our hatchling in my mind, the things we'd do, the color orientation of our little one, but... that... of course... never happened... and now that he's dead... my hopes and dreams... are all but gone..."
"Flair..." Cynder frowned to hear her speak with such pain, but she didn't understand why she still had hopes after what had been talked about, "Argus wasn't..."
Feeling a tap to her tail from Flair's, Cynder took notice and wondered if she was trying another one of her tests with Cyril, She did this once before to get a reaction out of Cyril. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just as curious as her. Now all eyes were to Cyril as Flair's head hung low, and while it did take a moment of silence for him to think of something perfect, he took in a breath before giving his words, "And why can't we make those memories, only without the need of remembering someone that caused you pain?" Flair was listening, but didn't pay him any attention, "Remember, just the same as you, Flair, I had those hopes and dreams too. With Freya, I had the name, I had the plans of our adventures, I had the image of what our little one would look like, laughing and running around while we played..." Giving a small peak, her body shivered, just not enough for him to feel, and this shiver was do to his tear, combined with the smile he wanted to show even though he felt sadness in a way, "But that's all a dream now..." Even though she wished for him to continue, a part of her went against that idea, so her paw placed over to his as she was ready to stop him, "At least... with Freya, it is," This immediately got Flair's heart to race to hear such love and care, seeing his eyes look to her like these words were meant for her, "Since you said we'd be mates, I have a new memory..." Turning to face him now, her eyes grew wide as he spoke on this new future, "We're in our room on an early morning. You're laid to a ball, smiling though, as you can hear me and our little one laughing as we play together in the middle of the room. Though with the morning becoming increasingly colder, our little one shivers and calls for mom. You raise your head, I help the little one up, and it curls to your paw and neck, cooing in delight to know it's safe. As the Hatchling closes its eyes, the little one whispers to you, 'I love you, mom'. I show a joy filled smile to yours, and with a kiss to your forehead, you shed a tear as I say, 'I love your mom too... I love... both of you...'"
Everyone was in complete shock and awe to hear such an in-depth story of his future plan that so deeply involved her. Not only had his words gotten to her, but the way he eased a claw to the side of her right jaw; caressing with such ease to force tears that were now being doubled from the story, Flair had nothing to say, nothing negative to feel either. The other all wished to get a look at how she was reacting to his movements and voice, and what they saw all warmed their hearts. After his story, her scales seemed much brighter. Her eyes showed with more detail and color, with her body looking smoothed out in perfect ease. Past the tears she had, the pupils in her eyes focused deep within Cyril's, shivering back and forth as she searched for some kind of lie. But her body rejected such negativity, only now wishing to understand and take in what he had said and done for her. Her body turned to him, trying to tense to show teeth, or even power to keep herself a float. Unfortunately for her, her body couldn't muster up the strength, so her forehead simply fell against Cyril's chest, letting out tears against him. Claire gave a sigh, trying not to show her anger towards only herself as now she thought about her and Ignitus, Come on, Claire... you've already hinted, joked, played around with, and even almost mated with him last night. What else do you have to fear? Cynder also had thoughts on her own about what had been brought up, Me and Spyro could be that happy... we... could have such a life... I can... see us now too... He's an adult like me, and while I'm curled to a ball, protecting our little one to my stomach... he's sat behind me... protecting us with the thickness and length of his wings... giving us shade... giving us heat... giving us... the prefect life. Each individual had thoughts on their own, and as Trish was talking with Terrador, Carith had the same exact thought, So then... maybe... having fun with Malefor really would help him for all that he's done... But would I be able to be the perfect girl for him? All thoughts and potential talking points for all were cut short as a voice suddenly yelled from down the hallway, "Guardians!" Everyone stopped what they were doing, both in speech and thought: some even standing as it sounded like a desperate cry, "Guardians!"
Now emerging from the side of the hallway, a mole stood to the entrance, breathing rather heavily. Because he was so out of breath, his hand placed to the side entrance to help support him, and since he still hadn't spoken up about what was happening, Ignitus asked, "What's going on? Is everything okay?"
"N... Ugh... No!" Finally catching his breath, the mole gave the warning, "There's six rather powerful dragons inside Warfang at the main door! They've taken Hatchlings hostage, and have even seriously wounded not only your kind, but our kind as well," Everyone stood ready now, some even giving gasps to hear what was going on, "Some dragons, mainly parents are trying to fight them, but they've already made it very clear they'll execute the Hatchlings or any other hostage if provoked."
"And?! What do they want?!" Terrador growled to hear.
"A rematch."
"Okay. Kettu, Xvar, ready when you two are," Now in his darkened form and Malefor in his pitch black form, Spyro gave the two the go ahead to speak on the past.
The two at first didn't speak as they believed this as a ploy. Upon further inspection however, they noticed the desperation within Spyro's eyes, ready and waiting to pay full attention to any and all detail that he could grasp. Kettu looked to Xvar, both with the same expressions of both worry, and wonder. Each taking sighs as it seemed things were serious, Kettu, being closest to Spyro, decided to start the story, "Over one hundred thousand years ago, their lived two sides: the dark, and the light. Though, it took nearly six centuries for both sides to discovery they weren't alone on this planet. In that time, many had build up their own communities, their own religions, and their own way of life. Both sides had come to an agreement of peace between one another, wishing to build on what they already had and wanting to make it into something more. But as time went on, ideologies clashed on what the world was made for, who it was ruled by, and who deserved the power to keep those out of line in check. One problem led to another as more and more tension grew between both sides. Males saw our females as new experiences, cheating on their female just to get a taste of what they were like. Females started to do the same, and it became a constant back and forth of who cheated on who."
"Your kind can... reproduce?" Spyro questioned, also to give Kettu a chance to breathe.
"As we've said, we're just the same as you. The difference though is that, we can't reproduce with your kind. Only Dark Dragons can have Hatchlings with other Dark Dragons. So, in a way, it was perfect for many as they saw our kind as a way to have fun without the unnecessary fears of having a child," Xvar cleared up the confusion.
"But it wasn't just about sex. You see, similar to Flair, the Dark Dragons didn't wish for someone to have more power over the other as things were fine as is. But the Ancestors insisted as they didn't know what the future generations could hold in terms of power. Conference calls were called to discuss matters that dealt with high powered threats, and those who went deemed themselves worthy of being powerful. But of course, it wasn't that easy, and some of the men that went to this meeting were shot dead. They were later found to be earth dragons, told by the Ancestors themselves to kill our Dark Dragon leaders in hopes that, without power against them, our kind would bow to the Ancestors rule," Kettu needed to take a breath, and since he did show this from a heavy sigh, Xvar took over.
"The problem is too is that no one had any chill, I guess you would say. You had the assassination, the switching of sides, the lying to others to turn them against one another, the destruction of other personal property and those they worshipped: it was all just one big shit show after another. Twenty-four years later, a mother of our kind was walking the streets of the city the Ancestors had built. Next to her was of course, her hatchling. Tension was heated already, and not many Dark Dragons roamed their streets anymore. So, once the news got out of this female being on their land, both sides went after her. It was unknown what she was going to do, but later some shop owners said she was looking for an anniversary gift for her husband. The Ancestors got there first, meeting up with her and immediately restraining her. Once to the ground and near being crushed by the earth that surrounded her body from the earth powers of an Ancestor, our leaders showed and attempted to stop things by taking their steps easy, their blades hidden, and their voices sympathetic."
"But the Ancestors weren't wavering," Kettu picked up, "They wanted to enslave her, and show what happens when our kind was to cross them. All while this is happening, the hatchling is begging for the Ancestors to let her go, and from all this commotion, a crowd had formed to only add to the disparity of the situation. The mother, in her best efforts, tried to stay calm, telling the little one everything would be okay. But... from what we could only assume was planned... a shard of ice flew past the neck of one of the Ancestors... and nailed the mother right in the head... killing her on impact," Spyro and Malefor shivered to hear what had happened, and to hear such defeat in Kettu's voice was almost soul crushing, "And thus, the war began. Both sides gave it their all, so much in fact that, over the course of another decade or so, both sides almost drove the other to extinction. As both sides readied for what was to be the last night of war, the last night of all existence, a light shined down from above all. Each side stopped and looked to the sky to see what it was. Never before had this scale color been seen, heard of on a dragon, or even prophesied... all we knew was the color..."
"The purple dragon," Spyro knew exactly what it could be, "But... wait... why did the mother die? Your powers have been the driving force in saving my life, healing my wounds, and cleaning me of blood."
"Light and dark are two powers normally, only one side can use. Our darkness, is an extra layer to you. We can't heal our own bodies as we'd basically be using our skin, our cells, our energy to heal ourselves when that's just not possible. Similar to you, when you're injured, you can't just heal on your own. It takes time before the skin cells react to form the healing process. But when working together, we can heal the other," Xvar explained, and it was easy for Spyro and Malefor to understand.
"Which is something I forgot to mention as another driving force in the war," Kettu resumed, "The Ancestors feared us above all else. They knew, and saw our power was beyond anything they could possess normally. That's why they attempted assassination, and not a direct conflict: they knew they'd lose. And they almost did too... but once this purple dragon appeared from what we could only describe as a gift from the gods, he was more powerful then anything ever seen before. He ended the conflict, and not with fists, but rather his words. Our sides were able to live off well enough to repopulate, and as a show of thanks from us, we granted him our power. The Ancestors seemed to love the fact that we trusted him, and so, they backed away while the purple dragon took over the way of living. He of course, the same as Malefor, wished to know of the purpose of the purple dragon."
"If you tell me that he kills thousands more of your kind, I promise I will give up my search like, right now... even though I have for a while now," Malefor felt like he knew where this was going.
"Try millions," Xvar growled which Malefor swallowed hard to.
"The purple dragon found what he believed to be his kinds purpose," Kettu gave a heavy sigh, "The light brings people joy, the darkness brings them fear. Their power is meant to heal, build, save, and protect, whereas our power is nothing more then a tool of destruction. Suddenly, this, care free, trusted, and supporting dragon we all had known for many, many years suddenly turned against us. One by one, we were dying off but no one knew why, until an onlooker spotted the murder and reported it. All hell broke loose, and there was battle between our kind, and a singular purple dragon."
"Wait!" Spyro stopped Kettu, "Why would this purple dragon suddenly turn? There had to be more of a reason then just him simply 'thinking' he knows our purpose."
"One big driving force was the death of his lover, which he blamed on us," Xvar had an idea, "Of course, our kind, not actually us as we weren't alive then, but anyway; point is, we never killed her. Our leaders kept track of every dragon that was born and raised to keep the assassins from making a move on us once again, and the purple dragon already agreed he'd personally deal with the Ancestors if something were to go arise. He had our trust, he had our support, and he used this since now he knew where we were and what we did on a daily basis. As our casualty rates jumped from tens, hundreds, thousands, and close to half a million, we needed a plan. The elders made weapons, like the Destroyer, to use to wipe the world but were never able to use it themselves as they quickly fled to what they believe to be a secret second home."
"Convexity," Spyro sighed to know exactly where this was headed.
"We fled there in hopes of waiting things out until things had calmed, but with the power we had given the purple dragon, he ripped his way into our realm," Kettu went into detail on just how bad it was, "Ten... years... for ten years, we lived in a copy of earth, and day by day, it was ripped apart. Every morning you'd wake up to a hatchling's bloody corpse, a mother and father holding paws while dead in the dirt, and blood trials in the grass that led to bones. After the end of those ten years, our elders grouped together after carefully planning to rally everyone. We tried to talk him down but were met with an immediate take down from a blink strike of an ice shard to a Dark Dragon's head. The devastation and power of the purple dragon was beyond anything that had ever been seen before, causing earthquakes from across the other end of the planet."
"While the battle took ten years to finally end, to many of our surviving elders, the fight felt like a life time," Xvar took over, "Every cry was painful, every cut sounding gush of blood as our kind was mutilated, and as the smells of blood and missing limbs covered the battlefield... the fight was just about over... Unfortunately for us all, the purple dragon had one last ace up his scales. Pinned to the ground and stabbed straight to the brain, he got off a small ball that erupted itself straight through the dirt and soil, which headed directly to the core of our other world. As it connected, the core went, as did most of our land. Now the Convexity realm is nothing more then floating islands of endless water and open space. That core kept not only the planet together, but the attachment to your earth as well. And so... with now way to go back... no way to rebuild... no way to do... anything... we've lived our lives in darkness, only getting light from what feels and seems like a false sun and sky."
"Wait... so... you're telling me... that... for the next... ninety thousand years... you all still live in a broken world?" The imagine of war, a broken earth, and a broken mind to all that lived within the Convexity realm made Spyro murmur in complete shock and horror.
"We have nothing to build. Anything we come across, there's just, not enough resources of," Kettu sighed, thinking back on his time in their realm, "The platforms of earth are too far apart, so... resource gathering is just too much of a pain to make something that we all believed to be destroyed later on. Most have been searching for a way out, which is where we came from: the Dark Master too. But even though we know where the location is to leave, it's too hard to describe in a place like that and too complicated to explain since, there needs to be an active portal for us to leave, which was you."
"And I accidentally activated the gateway for the Dark Master to leave many years ago in Mountain Malefor," Malefor remembered how he got the Dark Master.
"Mountain... Malefor?" Kettu and Xvar raised their brows to him.
"I wanted to have fun! I may be an adult, and was about twenty or so when I first found the mountain, and so, because it didn't seem like anyone else had claimed it, I did. Even wrote my name against the wall."
"That story doesn't make any sense," Suddenly and uncomfortably for the three, Spyro growled, "Who told you this story? If you weren't there, how do you know of it?"
"From our parents, of course," Kettu answered.
"You ever think maybe your parents, or whom ever told this story to your parents and so on and so forth was a liar?"
"Excuse me?" Xvar growled along with his friend.
"Ignitus said there'd be some lies within the story, and in a way, I believe him," Spyro took a step back as he could feel his darkness being messed with, "I'm only getting half a story here. I can understand why the Ancestors might've been scared of your power, but there had to have been more evidence for them to see you all as a threat. Your entire story makes the Ancestors out to be the bad guys because 'they' started the war, 'they' instigated tension and power, and 'they' caused the war that forced your kind to another realm. But what if, in reality, weapons like the Destroyer were made, and in turn the Ancestors found out, wishing to deal with such a large threat before it was ever used?" Malefor didn't like where this was going and backed his head up some, "The purple dragon's lover died because of our kind, but if others were acting out of different sides, what makes you think a Dark Dragon didn't force this dragon to kill her? After all... I've seen first hand what happens when a Dark Dragon take control over someone else."
"SHUT UP!"
Surprising not only Spyro, but Kettu and Xvar as well, they heard a voice; a deep, demonic growl almost, and with a quick glance over, they noticed Malefor had fallen to the ground. In almost complete sweat and shivers, his body tensed up as he begged in a plea, "No... no no no, please... please don't do this!" His plea fell on deaf ears, though the only thing it caused was more tension to his entire body as the Dark Master held him down, trying to take control, "If you want to talk so badly, then just... just... wait!"
"Dark Master!" Spyro yelled out, focusing completely away from Kettu and Xvar, "You can come out if you ease off! Let me talk to Malefor and we'll come to a deal! But I can't do that if you're making this conversation hard between the two speakers," Malefor still struggled for a bit, but the tension and sweat eased, same for his body as the Dark Master had listened, "The Dark Master must want to say something then, which is good because it can cause a conversation... Malefor, listen..."
"NO!" Malefor was quick to immediately reject any kind of thought on what needed to happen, "I'm am not, I... WILL NOT, let the Dark Master take control of my body! You don't understand what it's like! When he takes control, I can feel his darkness in my veins, I can feel the blood lust in my teeth and claws, I can feel... his grip over my mind and soul... like I'm nothing more than a puppet who's been playing his games ever since I was born!" Rather then say something, Spyro wished for all of his fears and worries to come out first, "Me and Carith are having it so good right now. We're so close to becoming mates, Ignitus is so close with Claire, Trish to Terrador, and even if not Cyril... I don't want to lose this momentum that we have!" Shedding tears, his hopes were there for Spyro to listen, "I lived in darkness for fifteen years... I woke up to find my home... my family... everything I once knew was gone... And I'm not about to let that happen again."
It was understandable for where he was coming from as Spyro experienced this once before too, "I know what you mean, and I know you're scared, but..."
"No..." He shuck his head, "Who will stop him if he takes control? You? You saw how Kettu and Xvar reacted to your call on their story. If you say something wrong, what stops those two from changing their minds, helping out the Dark Master, and next thing I know, I wake up in hell... And for the rest of my life... my... afterlife... I experience the deaths of all of you... the deaths I couldn't see or stop... I'm... I'm not about to lose it all once again... never... again..."
Even for Spyro, he was at a standstill since he had seen how they responded to his own feelings on the matter. Because he knew he couldn't give Malefor the closure he needed, Spyro looked to both Kettu and Xvar in hopes they'd be able to help. The two didn't much care to help him: not after what he had said about their kind or for his attitude against them. Having a conversation on their own within the minds of each other, it was more closely connected to Xvar and Kettu, so Spyro couldn't hear what they were discussing. But to make sure what ever it was didn't end up deadly, a quick talk to the two with his own view he hoped would help, Kettu... Xvar... you two should know above all else I care about life. Hearing millions dead, hearing the unfortunate events of the purple dragon and his lover... hearing... what happened to that mother... please understand I'm not upset just at your kind, but mine the same. No response was given to the two as they still focused to one another, not showing whether or not they actually cared for what he had to say. After some time of the two just staring at one another, Malefor gave a weakened chuckle to get past his tears, "Hehe, damn... You two gonna kiss or what?"
After having said this, he saw the two gave a sigh, which he didn't know was to his words, or for what they had discussed. But now that the two weren't facing the other, but rather one facing Spyro, and the other facing Malefor, Xvar gave his conclusion, "We've already spent a lifetime in darkness, and thanks to Spyro, we've found joy in the light. We don't much appreciative your bitching, the Dark Master, or the uncertainty of how the next hour will go. But if it makes you feel any better, you're much more fun to beat up on then the Dark Master, so keeping you around for as long as possible is ideal. But so help me, if you whine that you have to give up your body, we will make damn sure you'll have something more to fear for going against us."
"What?!" Malefor cried to hear they were wanting to go through with it as well, "No... Spyro, I...!"
"Malefor..." There was hesitation in his voice, fear even which didn't help, but Spyro still wished to go through with it, "You're scared of the Dark Master taking it all away from you. But if we understand and come to a mutual agreement one day, your fears will be cleared, your life as a husband with Carith will be assured, and war as we know it will cease to exist. Please trust me... and I will remember this day when we become friends, brothers, even," Malefor shuck and shivered from ever breath, moving on to every heart beat, feeling dizzy just thinking about what they were to do, "Dark Master... If you can hear me, which, you can obviously... we're... ready when you are... just go easy on..."
"UGH!" Not even able to finish what he had to say, Malefor's body was forced back to the ground, so hard in fact that the ground around him cracked: coughing spit from his mouth, "S... Sp... Spyro...! Spyro!"
"You'll wake up right here! I promise! You'll see everyone again, I swear to you!"
Passed all his words and trying to stay strong, the view Spyro was given was heartbreaking to him. Watching Malefor's body roll down to the side as his body locked up on him, the tear that formed in his left eye but not the other since it was pushed to the ground gave Spyro tears of his own, seeing the hope and trust that Malefor was giving him. The fighting, similar to seizure like movements with Malefor finally subsided. His body now laid there, nearly lifeless with a hung open maw. At first facing forward, Kettu looked to Spyro now, widening his eyes the same as Xvar. They could feel his heart beating faster and faster, jumping to almost four beats per second. He the same dripped sweat like Malefor once had when he was sacred. The three faced forward, lying in wait for what was next. The beats within Spyro's heart came to a sudden stop. Looking to the mouth of Malefor, a smile went across his face. Moving a paw down onto the ground and helping himself up, still eyes closed, an evil sounding voice grunted, "Ugh..." It was easy to tell, almost quickly too to hear that grunt wasn't from Malefor, but rather, the Dark Master, "Finally..." Standing up now and looking to the ceiling, he popped his neck to loosen himself; showing his eyes once opened in a dark purple glow that joined for a sadistic smile, "Hello... Spyro..."
Spyro was hesitant at first to see the change in scale color, voice, and body structure, almost like the Dark Master was trying to take over entirely. Trying to stay calm and completely failing miserably at it, a shiver showed in his fearful voice, "Dark Master."
"Man, is it just me, or is it dusty in here? Let me go ahead and fix that."
Standing to his back two paws, the Dark Master brought in his arms and wings, tightening them around his other sides. Clenching up for a second, his body kicked itself outwards, sending straight a powerful boom of wind. While not as powerful to the other three, the force of his exit from his tension was enough to blow up the inside of the Training Room. The ceiling, walls, and even the doors were all blow down, showing the hallway, the gem room, the blue sky covered by some clouds, and the far out miles of Warfang and the mountains. Now the area was open, free for anything to happen without the enclosure of walls. The display of power did make Spyro drop some sweat, just at the same time as the Dark Master himself dropped back down to his paws, "Oh what a joy it is to finally have a body back. It's been so long since I've been able to stretch, and from the looks of you, Spyro, it's been too long since you've had a good fight," Even seeing past the fear, it was easy to see the movements, and in a way hopes that Spyro had to fight someone so powerful, "What do you say, Spyro? From one enemy to another, why don't you give me this?"
Although desperate to finally have the blood pumping, adrenaline filled battle, Spyro knew what his plan would be, "I know I could still beat you, but that doesn't mean you don't have a trick up your scales to destroy the world, or hurt someone after you knock me a mile away," The Dark Master scuffed to see he knew exactly what he was planning, "We can put a pin in the fight, but for now, I wish to focus on why we're actually here. Progress is being made, and I don't want it to be for nothing. So if you have anything to say, please do so."
"'Please do so'? I don't need your permission," A snarl showed past his lips, "Kettu, Xvar, we meet again. So, tell me, are you really going to let history repeat itself, or, are you two children too?" They didn't answer him, "Aw, that's cute. You two want the good life don't you? Hehe, well, when Spyro rejects you two and word gets back that you were helping a purple dragon rather than killing it, hehe... man, your bodies will be picked scale from scale in a delicious dinner."
"Is this why you'd never help me, or listen to anything I've had to say? Because you think it's pointless to make another alliance with the purple dragons as we'd betray you again?"
"Can, and will," Slamming a fist down to the ground, Spyro backed, "Look at yourself, Spyro. You think you being born was an accident? No, you see, the reason for two purple dragons being born so close together was because of my infection."
"Infection?"
"Once I infected Malefor with my darkness, the Ancestors knew that Malefor wouldn't be able to exterminate the rest of my kind. And so, to deal with that problem, they wanted you to be born. Once you were born, you'd see how dangerous the darkness is, you'd wish to take it on and kill it, especially once you learned someone as innocent and caring as Malefor once was became turned because of us. I targeted you because I knew Malefor was a failure, and I don't kill him because I know the Ancestors screwed up. And as such, I now have a body to kill anything, anyone, and especially, the purple dragons."
"But if you know the power you have, why use it to destroy when we can work together to rebuild?"
"Because look at what happens when things get built. You can't argue with the fact that sooner or later, something dies, it grows old, it becomes weak. I saw your power when you had your little wish granted, and while I hate to agree with the plague you all are, Flair's a very bright women. Your power isn't made for peace, it's made to police. If you can go around from planet to planet, just the same as the other purple dragon, you could even make your own pocket dimension."
"Really?!" Unfortunately, as serious as this was, Spyro accidentally got too excited to hear, "Ahem... sorry..."
"Ugh," The Dark Master tried not to spit, "That's another thing that made the purple dragon so feared and powerful. In his pocket dimensions, he could go where ever, how ever, and some even believed when ever in time. These set pocket dimensions acted as a perfect way for him to train too. He could train for days, months, even years, and come back to find that on my minutes or days had passed, even though he had been gone for five whole years."
"I'd finally be able to spend time with Cynder, without the need of actually training," Unknowing to Spyro, Kettu and Xvar backed from him, even same for the Dark Master, "If I could go anywhere, I could get Cynder anything. We could find ingredients to make different kinds of foods, find places to enjoy, have sights to see, things to do... Our kind wouldn't be restricted to just earth... But space as a whole!"
"Kettu... Xvar..." This was his chance to get him on their side, "He, 'will', repeat history. If we don't kill him here, he'll become too powerful in the future. Do you really wish to see your parents slaughtered? To see the blood and bodies of young hatchling's all over again?"
"But wait," Spyro didn't hear what they were discussing, "If some believed he could go back in time, why didn't he go back to the point where his lover was killed?"
"Because his pocket dimensions only worked when he wasn't using his darkness. Some believe it was because the darkness infected him, so he was forever stuck with it. Which is a bullshit excuse since he could control his darkness and easily cleanse it from his body. Similar to Malefor when Carith kissed him, my darkness was nearly erased. Some also believe as a cover story that his hateful and iniquitous thoughts permanently damaged his state of being, making him more aggressive for his lack of power and the inability to time travel. So, once again, he blamed us."
"If he knew of the healing potential and benefits the darkness brought, why didn't he give it to his female as I have with Cynder?"
"He trusted himself more then he would the power of others. The Ancestors told him to be weary of their advancements, and their so called, 'peace treaty' that our kind was offering. He did exactly as he was told and kept the darkness only for himself. Real shame too since, because he listened to only one side of an argument, you have to wonder who corrupted him more? The darkness, or the Ancestors. But..."
"But either way, he would've had to turn to them if steered in the wrong direction?" A good point was brought up by Spyro, "The Ancestors are like my Guardians. I go to them for guidance, I go to them for advice, and I go to them when I need someone to talk to on things I'd rather not discuss or that doesn't involve Cynder. So if the Ancestors made the wrong decision then, but the Guardians aren't now, doesn't that mean I'm on a good course to become something more, something better? I mean, even when talking to them, they tell me to follow my heart and whatnot, so they aren't evil."
"Oh they aren't, are they? Spyro, I'm over a hundreds of years old and I've seen the dragons the Ancestors are," Wide eyes were given from Spyro to hear his age now, "It's funny you protect them when you don't even realize how bad things were. Ignitus once drove a women to suicide. Terrador crushed the wing of a dragon so badly, they had to cut it off as the bleeding was exploding within the wing. Cyril gave a couple of his, pals, frostbite so badly that their scales were forever frozen over in burning pain. And as for Volteer, during one of his tests, he thought he had made something that would save lives. After a dragon came to Warfang wounded, Volteer gave him the liquid. His brain immediately shut down, his body went limp, and blood spilled from his eyes, nose, and mouth."
"Stop trying to make us out like the bad guys!" To the right of the open space flew down Ignitus, and once landed to the floor over near them, the Dark Master smiled, "I didn't drive that women to kill herself. She wanted me to do it because she couldn't handle this war any longer. But because I didn't, she ran off and killed herself. Terrador crushed the wing if a dragon because the poison that was infecting his wing was traveling too fast, and he wished to stop it to save the dragon's life before it infected his body, and then he cut the wing. Cyril gave his pals frost bite because they asked for it, since they thought they could handle the cold, punching him in the stomach even, so to protect his life, and get away as fast as possible, he froze their paws. And finally, for Volteer, the man that was injured was desperate for painkillers. Volteer had been working on one and the bottle was labeled experimental and was meant to be used on flowers and trees as testing. The dragon was quick to take it, and of course died for it."
"I'm sorry, why are you here again?" His plan to change Spyro's mind backfired from Ignitus's interference, "Shouldn't you be off trying to find a way to screw over our kind? Or did the Ancestors tell their lapdog to be easy for now like the good bitch that he is."
"Spyro, remember what I said. Don't believe everything..."
"Oh, shut up."
Pointing a claw out, a shard of ice shot out from Malefor's claws and stabbed Ignitus in the head. Letting out a gasp, Spyro cried, "IGNITUS!"
"Calm down. His stupid ass isn't even real," Just as he had said this, the body faded away with the shard of ice falling to the ground, "Unfortunate too."
"Uuuugggghhh!" After seeing this now, Spyro didn't know who to trust, "Stop playing games! I'm here as a friend, here to understand how we, as a team, can prevent history from repeating itself! And you're still screwing around! How the hell am I supposed to sympathies with you if I can't even trust you?!"
"I didn't ask for this!" The Dark Master stood his ground, "I'll never trust you! The only reason I'm here is for you to understand you're more of a monster than I am! If you really want to do something for me, to benefit all of dragonkind as a whole, why don't you kill yourself?! I'll give my word not to destroy the earth since now I know, the one dragon I wanted gone is gone for good! You don't deserve a life for what's happened, you done deserve to love either, so how about I make another deal instead. You break up with Cynder, and never fall in love ever again, then we can assure that history won't repeat itself since you don't love anyone."
Easier said then done for him, and unfortunately, Spyro did struggle to answer that last one, "I... I... can't..." The Dark Master scuffed to see he wasn't getting through to Spyro, "There's a way for both parties to benefit, and I'll admit my selfishness for wanting a life with Cynder, but she wants the same... just as much as any of us do. One day, we will find a way to come together and agree on something, but for now... I'm sorry... And I'm sorry to your kind for what you went through... I promise... I will find a way... I Spyro Promise on it."
"Heh..." The Dark Master decided to give up for now, "It's fine. I know you'll end up broken and dead one day. Just wanted to stall long enough for someone in your family to die."
"What...?" Spyro ducked low in a growl.
"Oh, did you not sense it? There's six dragons with darkness attached to them. And from the looks of my dark forces, seems like your whole family is down there two," Spyro let out a gasp, and just to check, with the use of his darkness, he looked out the destroyed Training Room and noticed Cynder's darkness was all the way in Warfang nearest to the door with a sped up heart rate for some reason, "Someone will probably die at some point, and as such," Cracking his knuckles as he held himself up with his wings, the Dark Master was ready for a fight, "I just have to keep you busy long enough for someone to die."
"No..." The darkness within Spyro grew as rapid and as fast as his blood flow, "We've already made so much progress! I've talked with you, I've discussed with you, and swore I'd help you! Because of this, maybe slowly, day after day, just like Kettu and Xvar, you can roam free too and enjoy life the same, I mean... WE'RE SO CLOSE!" Spyro's random yell made the three listen closely as they could hear his desperation, "We're here, talking with one another and not fighting. I learned about why you're upset, why you hate our kind, and why Kettu and Xvar fear me. So let's use that, build on it, and just the same as I hope to do with Cynder: let's erase the fears, understand what made the past work and fail to build a better future. Our decisions right now will be the driving force in that, so all I'm asking for is a chance... just one..."
Making sure he wasn't alone, the Dark Master looked to the two of his kind. Seeing them walk to Spyro's sides as though they were for him, it was a loss that he had to accept, "Whatever. I need my dark power to replenish anyway. I've rather enjoyed watching your family build, Spyro, because it's going to be so much fun watching it all come down. Bye-bye... for now at least."
Malefor's eyes closed, and what strength held him up faded. Falling down flat to the floor, his body laid to its side for a couple of seconds. Spyro out of fear for what had really happened took a step forward, but seeing a shiver within Malefor's body, he stopped and waited. Timing his heartbeats, on the third beat, Malefor's eyes shot wide open, showing his purple glint in his eyes and scale color, "Spyro!" Even as he tried to stand, the feeling of pain and dizziness still stayed with him, but with the power of will, he fought to stand, "Spyro!"
"Malefor!" Running up to him, Kettu and Xvar faded back within Spyro's body, and once stood at his front, he helped him up, "It's okay, it's okay... You're right here... you're okay..." Now stood back up, Malefor looked around to see the sunlight up above which he squinted his eyes to, but not only that, he noticed the Training Room had been completely destroyed, "Listen, Malefor, I need you to listen. There's six dragons with dark powers at the doors that open to Warfang. We need to head there right now! Everyone is out there dealing with them at this time but I don't know why."
"Carith?!" Malefor cried.
"I don't know, but if Cynder's out there, the others might've followed, so come on!"
"Unbelievable pigs," Flair growled to the show that was being put on.
Right to the front of the big double doors in Warfang stood six dragons of different colors and skills; some holding hatchling's, one standing over a father's body as he drilled his blade into his lung, and the leader who stayed at the front with an assistant. Many dragons had gather all around, forming a crowd and gearing up for an attack. The Guardians, along with the others, stood at the front of this mob, facing straight down and aligning themselves straight across from the intruders. The cries from the hatchlings, the begging from the mothers, and the growls of the father made the groups teeth grind as they needed a plan. Volteer tried his best to think of something quick, and a perfect idea came to mind, "Cynder... if you could use your shadow powers, we could distract them long enough for you to grab the little ones first. For the father, we could quickly heal him with a gem patch I know outside of Warfang that's close by."
"I... I can't..." Cynder was against the use of that power, "After what Spyro went through, I don't know how to help them without hurting them. And since they're already scared enough, what if that reduces their oxygen too. I could give them air of course but... what would happen if they kicked off of me and I let go...? Would they... be... be... crushed...?"
"That's a fair point..."
"Or we just call Spyro and he deals with this in a blink of an eye," Flair suggested differently.
"We can't," Ersa already knew this wasn't an option, "Knowing the Dark Master, if Spyro shows weakness, he'll take advantage of that, maybe even use that to keep us in a bad position so one of us would die. Cynder using her dark powers would only make him lose his concentration. So we need another fall back plan."
"What are you after exactly?! A rematch with who?!" To give the others time to come up with a plan, Terrador let his voice boom in hopes of intimidation.
"Your scumbag purple dragon named, Spyro!" The red dragon, being the leader, addressed his demands, "Us six are tired of being pushed around, and so, with the help of our dark power, we wish to show who's truly the boss around here! Just so he knows the names of his killers, and the names that shall be used as fear for the rest of everyone's existence, my name is Flynn. My other red friend back there is named, Felix. The yellow one is named, Levi. The green one, our power house, is nicknamed, Doom. As for our two blue dragons, their names are, Carter, and Cyrus."
"Carter?" The group all questioned.
"Second in command," Carter bowed to the others, "Now, either show us where the purple dragon hides, hehe, I'm assuming in fear, or else," Snapping his fingers, a hatchling, wrapped around the neck of by Flynn's blade tightened, let out a painful and saddening cry, "Will start executing."
"Stop!" Flair cried, "They have nothing to do with this! If you would wait patiently, then you'd get your ass kicked when he arrives!"
"Or... tell you what," Directing a claw to Cyril and wiggling it back to himself, he had another idea, "Come here, Guardian Of Ice. I would like to discuss with you our other demands in private. No need for the other hatchlings around to hear profanity," Swallowing hard, he saw this as a trap, but as an incentive, Carter gave the order, "Flynn... execute the one by your tail."
"WAIT!" Running up and away from the others, Cyril was completely exposed out in the open, "Fine... I'm... I'm coming over."
No... no no no, Cyril! Flair knew what the others were up to, and at this point, something needed to be done. Even with repercussions, a chance was better then none, "Cynder...! You need to get Spyro out here! You know what they'll do to him! All they're going to do is use him as a hostage, and this will only turn more violent! If they feel cornered, they'll strike!" Facing away from Cynder, in that split second, she heard everyone gasp, the sound of a rip, and a loud cough, "We need to...!"
Stopping dead with cold eyes, what she had feared was far easier to handle then what she had saw. Rather taking a hostage, they used Cyril as an example. With a hole to his chest and out of his back, Carter pushed Cyril off his blade and to the floor below with a low thud. To make matters worse, Carter didn't stop there. Using his claws, a quick stab to the gut sent Cyril up as he coughed even more blood up and onto himself. Stapling a shard of ice within his body, time was running out for him now, "Listen! If Spyro doesn't get here within the next minute! This shard of ice will cut this dragon down the middle! Clocks ticking!"
Feeling her darkness go, Cynder gave wide eyes, turning around even to face the Guardians Building against the small mountain. Spyro! His racing heart scared her, but to hear his heart beating was at least a good sign. Turning back around to give the good news, her smile went from hope, to fear upon seeing Flair's body. Rather standing by, her fins sharpened to their max, her teeth clenched, and her claws dug to the pavement below, showing claw marks to where she scrapped them back. Though, for some reason, the entirety of her body suddenly eased. Her teeth hid, her fins eased, and her claws flattened back out. Swallowing hard, Cynder wasn't the only one afraid of what she was thinking, "F... Flair... Are you..." Rather answer, she walked away from the group to everyone's surprise, "Flair! Wait! Where are you going?! Spyro will be here soon! He just contacted me!" Her words didn't faze Flair as she continued her walk straight to the dragons, "Flair!"
