Interviews (4):

Ladiesandgentlemenboysandgirls, this week I present to you three other ladies, all from the East Coast. And let me tell you, their interviews are really exciting! The first lady will be Phoebe, followed by Leigh and Ximena. You better sit down, because it's going to be juicy

Phoebe Evans, 22, Hudson:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Phoebe: Who doesn't sign up for love, really? *laughs* But also, it will help us pay for our next trip to Georgia, in Europe, in guess…

Jesse: You are on 2 of the lists: how do you feel about that?

Phoebe: I would have preferred to be on Silas' list rather than Nathan's but I think I've navigated those water pretty well! Valerian is such a sweetheart and he always brings a smile to my face. I hope it works the other way around as well!

Jesse: Speaking of which, how was your last date with Prince Valerian, and what did you do?

Phoebe: We went on a bike ride together. We tried the tandem and it took us some time to get the hang of it. We laughed a lot, though, so it was fun! And when we could ride without falling, we talked a lot. *pause* I told him about my family, and I think that's it!

Jesse: Did you go on group dates, other than that one date with Prince Val?

Phoebe: Yes, two, actually! One with Nate and one with Val. With Nathan, we went bowling. He's honestly not a good player, but he is a good sport! He had a good laugh. I think Leigh won most of the games, though. And with Valerian, we went to an escape room! Alice in Wonderland themed. It was pretty awesome! Stressful, but awesome!

Jesse: You mentioned Georgia, earlier. Do you have family there?

Phoebe: Yes! My grandmother lives there. I've only met her once, but I really love her!

Jesse: Would you be comfortable sharing your most guilty pleasure?

Phoebe: Uuuh why not! It's not as awful as it sounds *laughs* I live to eat junk food, curled up in a blanket, and watching TV all day. But I don't do that often! Only when I know my mom's not home…

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Phoebe: I usually don't like talking about myself unless I really trust the person. I also tend to be sometimes rash and reckless when it comes to making decisions. As for strengths, I know I'm a good listener and I've been told a have a good shoulder to cry on! Oh, and I'm also very creative, obviously! *laughs*

Jesse: What's your favorite drink?

Phoebe: That's easy: strawberry lemonade! I can never have enough of them, and when summer starts, it's the first thing I buy.

Jesse: What's your favorite color?

Phoebe: Either a dark, midnight blue or any pink that one can find in a sunrise.

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Phoebe: Adventurous, Athletic, and Artistic.

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Phoebe: 10, obviously! Who doesn't like Doug, really?

Leigh Altman, 25, Allens:

Jesse: Why did you sign up for the Selection?

Leigh: I signed up because my mother asked me to. But now, I'm here because I want to be here. I found someone that I like and I want to see where this is going.

Jesse: You are on all 3 lists: how do you feel about that?

Leigh: It was quite surprising to be on all 3 lists. Silas, Nate, and Val are all very charming in their own ways, I'm thankful and humbled I get the chance to get to know all of them.

Jesse: How was your group date with Prince Valerian and Nathan?

Leigh: We had a swimming race on Val's group date. It was a lot of fun. Malia is a real mermaid, for sure. With Nate, I have to say it was a pretty great bowling game, I mean... I won 2 out of 3 games *laughs*. Nate was such a good sport though and I think everyone had fun.

Jesse: You've been a front-runner with Ximena for some time now. How is that going for you?

Leigh: I don't know about being a front-runner, because technically I'm on -2 red roses at this point *laugh*. This is all very... complicated. Ximena is my friend and she's a wonderful person, that's all I can say.

Jesse: I've seen a picture of you in a bikini, during the Selection, and I noticed you have several tattoos. Can you tell me about them? When and why you got them? Do they mean anything to you?

Leigh: Yes, I would love to. I have 3 tattoos so far. The first one I ever got was the wanderlust and an infinity sign on my ankle. I have always loved traveling and I'm hoping I can go to many different places during my life. I also have butterflies flying away along my left ribcage, I got that after my sweet 16th birthday. And the last one's a small tattoo of a hand holding the world. This one is more of a self-empowering message for me. It's quite personal.

Jesse: Did you always want to be a lawyer, ever since you were a kid?

Leigh: Hmm… I remember wanting to be a ballerina when I was really young. At one point, I think I wanted to be a photographer too. So, the answer to that is no.

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Leigh: My number one weakness is my dog, Archie. I've never been away from him for this long, I do miss him a lot. I'm going to spoil him rotten if I get back. Another weakness would be... I smoke when I'm stressed. It's not a great habit, but I'm working on it. As for strength, I'm dependable and I've been told I give amazing hugs.

Jesse: What's your favorite alcoholic beverage and your favorite dessert?

Leigh: I'm always open to a good bottle of wine. Pinot Noir is my personal favorite. For dessert, I like pistachio ice cream that has little chunks of pistachio in it.

Jesse: What's your favorite movie/book genre?

Leigh: I love old movies because it has an artistic way of telling stories. I also like thriller, action, fantasy, or sci-fi genres. I'm not that picky when it comes to movies, as long as it's not a sad ending movie, I'm good. For books, I absolutely love reading biographies. I like learning about other people's stories. If I can't hear it from them in person, I don't mind reading about it.

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Leigh: spontaneous, shrewd, and sarcastic

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Leigh: Are there any answers other than a solid 10 out of 10? He's such a good boy it's impossible not to love him.

Ximena Oliveira, 24, Hansport:

Jesse: Why did you sign up to the Selection?

Ximena: Initially, I signed up because I thought it would be good for my brand. Get my name out there, reach more young girls and boys with my message. But then, I thought it would also be nice to find something I'd been missing through the Selection. Who doesn't want to find love?

Jesse: You are on 2 of the lists: how do you feel about that?

Ximena: It feels nice, though I don't need to be on every list. I just need to be on the one list that matters most to me, and I'm happy.

Jesse: How was your latest date with the Crown Prince?

Ximena: Oh, it was amazing! He surprised me for my birthday, and I think it might be the best birthday I've ever had. We had breakfast together, a lovely picnic, and had a swim. I even tried to pull him down into the water with me, but sadly, he's too strong.

Jesse: You are a front-runner for the Crown Prince with Leigh Altman. Do you think this is going to ruin your friendship with her?

Ximena: I love Leigh, she's my closest friend here, so I sincerely hope it doesn't. There's a lot about her that I admire and I've always preached for women to be supportive of each other, so that's what I'll do with her as well. Ultimately, it's up to Silas to decide who he wants to be with. Whoever he ends up choosing, I'll always love Leigh as my friend.

Jesse: Have you been able to design clothes for Rainha these past few months? How is that going for you?

Ximena: It hasn't been going too bad! I haven't had as much time to design new clothes as I would have had at home, but I try to take what free time we have here to come up with new ideas. Having been here has been inspiring, and I have a distinct theme for my new collection that I hope everyone will love.

Jesse: You already had lots of followers on Social Media before the Selection. Have you had more or less? Are you still active on Social media at the moment? Have you been following the hashtag wars?

Ximena: My followers have definitely grown significantly, which makes me really happy because I get to reach more people with my message! I hope they will stay for everything that I have to offer, and not just the Selection buzz. It's important to me that everyone knows they're beautiful just the way they are, and they don't need to change for anyone or anything. That's why I've been posting more on Social Media now. I'm trying to take advantage of the moment so more people see the positive words and not just the drama. As for the hashtag wars, no. I've learned over the years that it's better not to engage with those kinds of things. As confident as I can be, I'm only human and I have my insecurities, so I have to think of my own mental health.

Jesse: Can you give me two weaknesses and two strengths?

Ximena: Hmm, I would say my two strengths are my confidence and the fact that I am a hard worker. My mother always showed me how important it is to work hard for your goals. As for weaknesses, I'm too stubborn for my own good and have a really hard time admitting when I'm wrong. But oh, we're all human, right?

Jesse: What's your favorite dessert?

Ximena: Okay, this might sound a little weird, but I love bananas with whipped cream. And don't laugh! It's actually delicious and everyone needs to try it.

Jesse: What's your favorite season?

Ximena: My favorite season is spring, all the major fashion houses have their best shows during spring and I find myself the most inspired during it, too.

Jesse: Can you describe yourself in 3 words starting with the same letter?

Ximena: Sure! I'd say confident, creative, and charismatic.

Jesse: On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Doug?

Ximena: 10! He's an absolute joy to be around. I've never had a pet, but meeting Doug has made me seriously regret that. I might have to get a dog once this is all over because they're the absolute cutest.
