Ch.59

Two days later, Andrea shows up out of the blue. Carl bursts through the doors shouting for everyone to come outside. "What is it? What's going on?" Carol asks from the top of the stairs. "It's Andrea. She's here." Carl replies surprising us all.

"Andrea? What's she doing here? She's supposed to be in Woodbury." I shriek climbing down the stairs. "House call, maybe?" Daryl says surprised. "I don't know, but let's check it out." Rick states walking out the door.

"Are you alone?" Rick asks Andrea. "Open the gate." she orders still holding the walker out in front of her. "Rick, it's me. Let me in." she says walking up to the gate. When she reaches us, she acts like nothing ever happened between us.

"What the hell are you doing here, Andrea." I ask pointing my gun at her as Rick pins her against the fence. "Hey! What a way to greet an old friend." she complains sarcastically. "Just answer the damn question." Daryl states. "I just had to see you guys." she says.

I guess this wasn't the welcome party Andrea was expecting. We walk her into the prison as we fill her in on everything that's happened since the farm outbreak. We thought she was a goner until that night I saw her in the arena.

"You all live here? Can I go in?" Andrea asks heading for the cell block door. "I can't allow that." Rick stands in her way. "Why? I'm not the ememy here." she scoffs at us for treating her like an outsider.

Who can blame us for treating her differently. After all, she was part of the governor's group. She chose to stay by him instead of her friends. She was, after all, sleeping with him. What was I then. A side job when she's not around?

"The governor came here and shot us up. Killed one of our guys." Rick states. "He told me you guys shot first." she says looking at us confused. "Well, he's lying." I glare at her as she stares at me.

"Mae, what did he do to you?" Andrea asks walking up to me. "Just stay back. I don't want anything to do with those people. And you're one of them." I say backing away from her. "But Mae, I..." she begins.

"I don't get it. I left Atlanta with you people. Now I'm the odd man out?" Andrea starts whining. "He almost killed Michonne and he would have killed us. He also did God knows what to Mae." Glenn states angrily.

"What about him? Isn't he the one who kidnapped you? Who beat you? Now he's part of the group? What the hell." Andrea shrieks pointing at Merle in the corner. "We're dealing with him." Rick intervenes.

"Look, we don't need you here. So why don't you go back to where you came from." I state ushering to the door. "He's not like that. I know him." Andrea starts. "Yeah. I bet you do." I interrupt her statement.

"What the hell is your problem?" Andrea asks me clearly upset. "I'll tell you what her problem is. Do you have any idea what she's been through? What that sick bastard did to her? Huh?" Daryl intervenes.

"Daryl, just drop it." I say rubbing my temples. "No, I will not! When I went to find her, she was strapped to a bed naked!" Daryl screams telling everyone what he saw. I scream at him for not letting it go.

"Thanks a lot for telling everyone, Daryl. I sure appreciate it." I say sarcastically before stomping up the stairs crying. "I'll go talk to her." Maggie offers. "No. Let her be alone for a few minutes." Daryl sighs at his stupidity.

"Look, I cannot excuse or explain what Philip has done. But I am here trying to bring us together. We have to work this out." Andrea says exasperated. "There's nothing to work out. We're gonna kill him. I don't know how or when, but we will. We're gonna get him back for what he did." Rick states.

The sobs keep coming as I listen to Andrea try and make things right. She wants us to come back with her. There's no way in hell that I'm going back there to stay. Not after what that sick bastard did to me.

"I'll tell you what. Next time you see Philip, you tell him I'm gonna take his other eye. I'll cut off his dick and make him eat it. Payback's a bitch." Daryl states angrily before trudging up the stairs to our cell.

"Hey. Look, I'm sorry. I was upset." Daryl says sitting down beside me on the bed. "I know. But I also didn't want everyone to know I was raped." I say wiping my face. He looks away as he gathers his thoughts.

"Did he actually?" Daryl asks me sadly. "Yes, Daryl, he did. Twice in fact." I continue crying into my palms. "Babe, I'm sorry. If I could have stopped it from happening, I would have." he says cupping my cheek. "I know, but there was nothing you could do." I say covering his hand with mine.

Andrea calls out to me while walking up the stairs. "Mae? Look, I'm sorry about what happened to you. I really am. But he's not actually like that." she says trying to prove her point that the governor's an honest good guy.

"Go. Just go. You could have helped us, but you didn't. You were too entranced by his charm and good looks. I get that. But...if you truly are our friend, try to see him for who he really is, alright?" I say waving her out of my cell.

"Hey. One more thing." Daryl whistles getting Andrea's attention before she leaves. "You tell him a war's coming his way. And it ain't gonna be pretty. Trust me." he glares gesturing for her to leave now.

"I love you." I tell Daryl rubbing his cheek. "I'll do anything for you. You know that, right?" he says staring into my glassy eyes. "Yes. And I love you for that." I say before kissing him softly on the lips.

After we send Andrea off, Maggie comes up to me in my cell. "Can I come in?" she asks sheepishly. I wave her inside to come sit on the bed beside me. I knew this would come. Better get it over with now.

"Is it true what Daryl said?" Maggie asks me sadly. "Very much so." I sigh at her knowing question. "Did he actually rape you?" she asks scared to know the answer. "Yes. And that's not the only thing I'm afraid of." I start tearing up.

"What do you mean?" Maggie asks confused. "Maggs, what if...what if I become..." I fumble with my words afraid of actually saying the p word. "What's going to happen? Daryl's already pissed about the whole thing. What if I end up...pregnant?" I cry thinking of what Daryl would do if he found out.

"Have you told him yet?" Maggie asks smoothing my hair while leaning up against her. "No. I don't think he's put two and two together. Or, at least, he hasn't said anything about it to me." I reply staring at the blank wall.

"Isn't there a chance that it could be his? If you do become pregnant?" Maggie asks trying to make me feel better. "There is, but it's a slight chance." I say discouraged.

"Hmm. Either way, it's his baby, right?" Maggie says lightening the mood. "I guess." I say while twidling my thumbs. "I guess there is only one way to find out for sure." she says looking down at me.

"Wait it out?" I say sitting up to wipe my tears. This is going to be the longest two weeks of my life. "I'll hope for the best, okay?" Maggie reassures me before giving me a quick hug. "Thank you, Maggs." I say softly. "Later, Maezy" she smiles walking out of the cell.
