A/N: Y'all…

The reviews I've been getting the last couple of posts have been insane. Thanks so much for all of the love!

Skaisy requested this shot that was set after season 7 in which the team almost sets the kitchen on fire. I had planned already on doing a sequel to "Sabbatical", so if you haven't read that chapter yet, you might want to. This is a combination of those two ideas...kinda. Phillindaisy fluff ahead.

Hope you like!

"Are you sure you're doing that right?" Jemma peered over Daisy's shoulder, watching as she tried, in vain, to "cream" together butter and cream cheese.

"I think you're supposed to soften the butter first." Fitz peered over her other shoulder and sent a concerned look to his wife.

"Look, backseat drivers," Daisy quipped, pausing in her endeavor, "I did soften the butter first, it's just really hard to mix."

"Let me try." Fitz nudged her shoulder and took the spoon.

"Do you guys not have a mixer?" Kora asked from her barstool, watching them fight over the recipe with mild amusement. They had been nice enough to include her in the invitation, so she tried her best to stay out of the way. Alya had taken a liking to her, and had joined her to color in a coloring book at the counter. Occasionally, Alya would pull on her sleeve to show her the picture so far.

"We did but-"

"He broke it." Jemma interrupted Leo, gesturing with her head.

"I did not break it!" He cried. "I just…. dropped it. Off of the moving truck."

Daisy snickered behind her hand.

"Nice place you got." Sousa came meandering into the room, glancing at the bookshelves and the knickknacks and photos.

"Yeah, we like it." Jemma replied absentmindedly, having regained control of the wooden spoon.

"It has a nice yard." Fitz complimented. "We are building a treehouse out back. Maybe I'll get a goat."

Daisy snickered again, and the corner of Jemma's mouth quirked up.

"Anybody home?" The front door clicked shut, and Mack's heavy footsteps could be heard in the front hallway.

"In here!" Jemma called, setting down the spoon to greet him. "Director Mack!"

" I told you, you don't have to call me that." He chuckled, wrapping his massive arms around her.

Yo-yo stepped out from behind him and hugged Daisy, then they switched.

"What are you guys making? It smells good in here." Yo-yo peered into the bowl.

"Cream cheese cookies." Daisy winced. "To celebrate our little reunion. But they aren't going so well…"

"Did you melt the butter first?"

"See! I told you!" Fitz gestured wildly to Yo-yo in affirmation, but the smattering of cake mix across his cheek did little to make him serious enough.

"Daddy doesn't like baking." Alya muttered, and Kora chuckled quietly.

"Miss Alya," Mack came around and ruffled her blonde head, "I brought you something."

Jemma and Fitz let out simultaneous objections, but he just laughed and handed her a present anyway. Daisy finished mixing the dough and added the chocolate chips, watching as she unwrapped a robot-building kit and a volcano toy, excitedly bouncing in her seat.

Once the cookies were on the cookie sheet, Jemma took the tray and slid it in the oven, not even noticing the paper towels stuck to the bottom of it.

While they waited, Sousa brought up the question they were all dying to ask.

"So….have you heard anything"

Mack signed heavily, shrugging his shoulders. "Nothing. All I know is that May put in a request for retirement three months ago, which I approved, obviously. I haven't heard from either of them in almost a month."

"Me neither." Daisy replied, looking a little downtrodden. "May texted me a few weeks ago saying they were in Greece. That's about it."

"Coulson sent Alya a Russian doll." Fitz sighed.

"We did invite them." Jemma replied optimistically. "I'm sure they'll be here."

Nobody said anything, but the mood was doubtful. Eventually the conversation picked up again with space, which sent Daisy on a long-winded spiel about how much she missed Earth food and how hard it was to go without Netflix and how excited she was to be back on the ground running ops for the foreseeable future.

At some point, Yo-yo wrinkled her nose. "Do you guys smell that?"

They all individually sniffed the air.

"Smells like something's burning. Daisy, it isn't the cookies, is it?"

"Nope." Daisy checked her phone. "They have two minutes left." She peered into the oven and out billowed dark smoke.

"Oh my god." Jemma choked.

Mack and Yo-yo simultaneously stepped back frantically. Fitz went flying through cabinets.

"Where's the fire extinguisher?!"

"I don't know!" Jemma turned off the oven, coughing through a thick haze of smoke.

Daisy helped him look, and eventually they found it stuffed in the cabinet above the microwave, just as the fire alarm began going off.

Once the fire was extinguished, both Fitz and Daisy sighed and leaned heavily on the counter.

"Where's Alya?" Jemma had taken notice that the young blonde was missing. Yo-yo whipped through the house in the blink of an eye.

"Nada. She's not in the house."

"Check the front?" Fitz was on his way out the kitchen before Jemma even finished her sentence. The others followed him out into the front yard.

"So," They were met with two very familiar faces, "Who set the kitchen on fire?"

In the chaos, only little Alya had heard Lola pull into the drive. Coulson and May had exited the car to find her on the front lawn, awaiting them with tales of the fire that had been set in the oven.

When the group came out to the front, Coulson had just picked her up.

"Managed to put it out, although I think the cookies are toast." Daisy was the first to reach them, and she immediately enveloped Melinda in a bone crushing hug.

It had been months since she'd talked to her S.O, but over a year since she'd seen her in person. Although they'd talked on the phone pretty regularly, her comforting presence worked better in person. And recently...well that comfort was what she needed. Daisy felt no awkwardness in hugging her tightly, because frankly, she missed her too much to care.

It was arguable that May missed her just as bad.

"We were afraid you weren't going to come." Jemma was next in line for a hug, although Daisy kept her arm around Melinda's shoulders the whole time.

"Wouldn't miss it, kiddo." Phil adjusted as Alya clinged to him harder, not wanting to be put down. He turned his attention to Mack. "How's it going, boss-man?"

"Fantastic. Although, I might pick your brain about some things while you're here, if you don't mind-"

"Mack," Yo-yo chastised, giving Phil a side hug as she did so, "Let him get settled."

They were led into the kitchen, where the smoky remains of the cream cheese cookies lingered in the oven. While Alya showed Phil her half-completed coloring pages, May helped the girls open windows and fan out the room.

Someone suggested, since the oven was toast and the meal for the night couldn't be cooked, that they order pizza. While Jemma and Fitz figured out pizza toppings, Daisy stepped outside for some air.

She wasn't alone five minutes when Phil came out to join her, having snuck away when Alya was told to show Yo-yo her new telescope. He came out onto the edge of the deck, standing next to her and enjoying the quiet.

Jemma and Fitz had chosen a little place in Northern England, only a little drive from their respective parents, with enough of a backyard to be considered country but rather close to the nearest town. It meant peace and quiet, which was the one thing Daisy didn't miss about space.

She relished in the afternoon sun, and Phil looked at her, eyebrow raised.

"You like space?"

"Relatively speaking." She joked with a sigh. "It's beautiful, but…"

"I get it." Phil put his hands in his pockets. "So are you staying? On Earth, I mean?"

She looked at him and laughed.

"What?"

"I just-" she sighed, not sure how to tell him. Daisy tentatively stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him.

He hugged her eagerly, resting his cheek against her dark hair and rubbing her back gently.

"I miss you."

"I miss you too, kiddo." Phil frowned when he noticed that his collar was wet. "Why are you crying?"

"Freaking-" aw to hell with it. She should just tell him. "Freaking pregnancy hormones."

He pulled away from her with a frown, seeing the mischievous look in her face through the tears.

"You're serious?"

"Yeah." She gave him a watery nod. "It's why we came back, besides, you know, being here."

"Oh my god Daisy." He pulled her in again, hugging her tightly.

The back door opened, and Melinda peeked her head out.

"Pizza is he-" she came out and shut the door behind her, getting the sneaking suspicion that whatever had transpired required privacy. "What happened?"

Daisy pulled away and haphazardly wiped the tears from her cheeks. "I'm pregnant."

"She's pregnant!" Phil pointed to her excitedly.

"Daisy, that's-" May hugged her gently. "Congratulations."

"Thanks." Daisy swiped her cheeks one more time, sniffling. "Oof, sorry. Didn't mean to get all wishy washy. I just….I haven't told anybody yet, besides Daniel, and...whew….that was nerve-wracking."

"So, you're staying on Earth? No space baby?"

"Phil-" Melinda elbowed him lightly and turned her attention back to Daisy. "We're happy for you, really."

"Thanks." Daisy looked between them briefly, sniffling again. "Look, I know you both technically retired, and I don't...i mean i don't wanna take away from that-"

"Daisy, we aren't going anywhere." May reassured, squeezing her arm.

"If you need us, we'll be here." He finished, the two of them sharing a quick glance. "Of course, I don't know where we'll stay. Maybe we'll get a place in Scotland-"

"Or Ireland-" May suggested with a half-smile.

"Thank you." Daisy said again, quietly, and she returned to their embrace, tears drying on her cheeks.

"Mama May!" Little Alya was peering out at them through the back door. She stepped out tentatively.

Melinda huffed at the nickname, since for some reason, the little blonde couldn't quite get a handle on how to pronounce her name.

"Yes?" she squatted down to eye-level.

"Uncle Mack says he's gonna eat all the pizza!"

"Well we better hurry then, huh?"

Alya nodded furiously and practically dragged Melinda into the house, leaving Phil and Daisy to trail in behind them, still smiling.

A/N: Sorry it took so long babes.
