A/N: The A.D reveal is coming next chapter, so I'd love for you all to leave your guesses on who A.D is and why in the reviews!

Kara took a deep breath, her eyes glancing between the clock on the bedside cabinet and the mirror in front of her. It was the big day. Three months had passed, and the girl's murder trials were about to start. Of course, everyone knew there would be no outcome for a long time, maybe even months, but just knowing the girls would be going down for good…that gave Kara more relief than she thought possible. The girls had some of the best lawyers in the country, thanks to their rich parents, but there was so much evidence against them. They couldn't get out of this one. Kara only hoped they were going to get the truth.

"You look more nervous than I am" Jason mumbled from behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"I just want this to be over" Kara sighed, as he pulled her closer.

Things had been good between the pair in the last few months, growing closer than ever and even moving in with each other. Neither was too scared to tell the other how they felt anymore. Kara wasn't sure if she would cope with the trail if it wasn't for him.

"You've done everything you could, Kara. It's up to the jury now" Jason told her, but Kara still didn't seem convinced.

"A jury convicted me or trying to kill Cece not so long ago" Kara pointed out.

"Because the girls framed you" Jason stated, as Kara turned to face him.

"What if they think I'm framing them now? A lot of the evidence is circumstantial-" Kara began, but Jason cut her off.

"They've called me as a witness. To testify against Ali" Jason announced, watching Kara's eyes widen.

"Are you gonna' do it?" Kara asked.

"My sister's a killer. She's far from innocent. That's what I'll say on the stand. The truth" Jason explained as Kara nodded, leaning to rest her forehead against his.

"Don't let go of me today, yeah?" She questioned, linking their hands.

"I've got you," Jason told her, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek.

A loud ringing sound had them pulling apart, as Jason took his phone from his pocket, a smile on his face when he saw who was calling.

"It's your brother" Jason informed her, as a smirk grew on Kara's face.

"How is your bromance?" Kara teased, as Jason shook his head fondly.

"Mending…I think he still wants to hit me somedays though" Jason mumbled, picking up the call.

"That's how he shows affection" Kara grinned, as Jason shushed her, hoping Dylan hadn't heard.

"Hey man…no, we were just about to leave…what's wrong?...What do you mean…Dylan, if this is a joke…they can't have!" Jason exclaimed, a look of disbelief on his face.

"What's happened?" Kara asked, her heart beating faster.

"They've escaped" Jason announced, as Kara felt the whole world come crashing down around her.

"No…no fucking way. That's not possible!" Kara cried.

"It's only just happened. They were being transported to the Court House. The van they were in has gone" Jason told her, as Kara ran a hand through her hair.

"Where the hell were the police?" She insisted.

"There were four police cars following them, some of them had their tires blown. Dylan said there were casualties…" Jason trailed off, as a realization hit Kara.

"It's A.D, isn't it?" Kara mumbled; her voice shaky.

"It is their M.O" Jason replied.

"This doesn't make any sense. It was A.D's plan for them to get arrested, why would they kidnap the girls now?" Kara questioned; her brow furrowed.

"Maybe they changed their mind? Decided prison wasn't enough punishment…I mean c'mon, Kara. We've all thought about it" Jason exclaimed, as Kara knew he was right.

"We should regroup. I'll text Wren and find out where he is" Kara suggested, rushing out of the room to grab her phone.

She came to a sudden halt when she found saw something she hadn't been expecting on the couch. The board game. It came whirring to life as if it could sense she was there. Kara felt a shiver go down her spine, as she wondered whether A.D was watching her. Jason followed her a few moments later, spotting something else on the floor by the front door. Walking over, he leaned down to pick up the object, realizing it was a puzzle piece.

"It's the last part" Kara realised, picking up the phone that lay over the small puzzle.

"Is this our reward?" Jason suggested, pushing himself to his feet and dropping the piece into her hand.

"There's only one thing I really want" Kara mumbled, slotting the piece into place, as they both leaned closer.

Kara's eyes widened as she realised it had been a drawing all along, and instantly knew who the artist was. Bethany Young. It looked like a man, but it was so abstract there was no way to tell the person's real identity. Her eyes were quickly drawn to scribbles on the bottom left-hand corner, which had been split in two. Jason also followed her gaze, his jaw-dropping open when he was finally able to read the words.

"To my love?" He read aloud, as he and Kara shared a concerned look.

"This has always been about revenge for A.D. They think the girls killed their lover" Kara realised.

"What do you think they're gonna' do to them?" Jason asked, panic clear on his face.

"Whatever it takes to get the truth and after that…I don't think A.D has any plans to send them back to jail" Kara announced.

A loud beeping sound had the pair jumping, as Kara looked down at the forgotten phone in her hand, holding it up so they could read the words on the screen.

Congratulations. You won the game.

To say Wren didn't take the news well was an understatement. After looking at the state of his hotel room, Kara could tell she needed to be careful what she said. It was surprising to see that Alex of all people had been able to get him to calm down. She pointed out that A.D was just one person. They could still beat them and get the truth…even if they still had no idea who they were.

"We've only got one more ace up our sleeve. Eddie Lamb" Kara stated, but no one seemed convinced.

"Even if we could find Eddie, who says he'll have answers?" Mona exclaimed.

"Jessica was looking into him before her death. And we know all roads lead to Radley. He's our missing link" Kara insisted.

"But won't we just be leading A.D to him?" Lucas suggested.

"That's why we're gonna' have a decoy" Kara informed him.

"Why do I have a feeling I'm not going to like this plan?" Dylan sighed, as Kara's lips twitched into a smile.

"Me, Jason and Wren will meet with Eddie. Dylan and Mona will be decoys, they'll lead A.D away from where we are really going. Lucas and Alex will be our last line of defence, if A.D realizes their being played. You need to stop them from getting to Eddie" Kara explained.

"Dream team, huh?" Alex exclaimed, holding her hand up for Lucas to high five.

"Alex…" Kara trailed off, hoping the girl would take it more seriously.

"Right, sorry. Don't worry, you guys can count on me. Over my dead body will A.D get to Eddie" Alex told her, as everyone cringed.

"Guys, this will work. It has to" Kara stated, as Lucas pushed himself to his feet.

"We've followed you this far, Kara. We're not gonna' stop now" Lucas exclaimed.

"I'm going to find out what happened to my sister" Wren insisted, standing up.

"And I'm gonna' protect my sister" Dylan added, as Mona nodded beside him.

"I already made a promise. I'm with you to the end, Kara" Jason told her.

"I know we all wish we never had a reason to come together but…I'm glad I met you all. In high school, I never thought I'd have friends, let alone this weird family we've all become" Mona announced, looking like she was close to tears.

"…If you lot are expecting a group hug, it ain't happening" Kara grinned, as they all began laughing.

"Let's go get our answers" Wren exclaimed.

Kara frowned as they approached the address that Jessica had for Eddie Lamb, and really began to wonder if he was still living there. The building looked abandoned, practically falling apart, as Kara could hear rats squealing from nearby. He certainly hadn't skipped town for a life of luxury. He was running from something, that was now clear. Kara remembered her surprise when she first read Eddie Lamb's address and still found it hard to believe. He had been on the outskirts of town all along, in a particularly seedy area that no one ever had reason to travel to unless they were looking for trouble. He had been hiding under A.D's nose all that time. Jason and Wren walked ahead of her, both going to open the rotting front door, sending glares at each other. Kara rolled her eyes at the childish behaviour, opening the door herself and walking inside, the smell of damp hitting her immediately.

"Guys? Hey, are you there?" A voice exclaimed, through the tense silence.

Kara pulled out the aged walkie-talkie from her pocket, instantly recognizing Mona's voice. She hoped nothing was wrong with their plan.

"I still don't see why we couldn't just use phones like normal people" Kara replied, hearing a sigh from Mona.

"To easy to hack…I think A. D's realised something's up. They've just turned off, they're not following us anymore" Mona informed her.

"How far did you guys take them?" Kara questioned.

"Only a few miles out of Rosewood. Be quick, Kara" Mona warned her.

"Okay. Be careful" Kara answered, taking her finger off the walkie talkie.

"Stay behind me. We don't know how Eddie is going to react" Jason told Kara, who quirked an eyebrow.

"Makes me all tingly when you get protective like that, Jason" Wren muttered, sarcastically.

"Actually, on second thought…why don't you go first, Wren?" Jason scoffed, crossing his arms.

"Jesus Christ, both of you play nice or I'm going on my own" Kara insisted, as they heard a door creak open.

An uneasy silence washed over them as they saw a figure come to stand in a nearby doorway, only the sliver of the streetlight illuminating his face. Kara took a cautious step forward, as Jason reached out to grab her hand before she could go any further.

"Eddie?" Kara called out, as the figure took a step forward.

"You shouldn't have come here" The familiar gruff voice replied, as an older looking Eddie Lamb came into view.

"You're still all charm, I see" Wren exclaimed, as the older man's eyes snapped to his.

"Come to finish the job, Wren?" Eddie asked as Wren's jaw tensed.

"What's he talking about?" Kara frowned.

"I was desperate for answers-" Wren began but was quickly cut off by Eddie.

"So desperate he threatened to kill me if I didn't talk. I decided to get the hell out of dodge after that" Eddie stated.

"Bullshit. We both know there's someone you're a lot more scared of than Wren" Kara insisted, watching fear flash over Eddie's face for a moment.

"Do they know you're here?" Eddie questioned, as Kara shook her head.

"No, but they will soon" Kara warned.

"Then you can ask me your questions as I pack" Eddie muttered, walking back into his apartment.

"Hey guys, we've found Eddie. Any sign of A.D?" Kara asked, picking up her walkie talkie, and waiting for the group to sound off.

"Nothing since the car stopped following us," Mona told her.

"Anything on your end, Lucas?" Kara inquired, getting no response.

He and Alex were supposed to be watching the apartment block from further down the road, ready to warn them if they saw anyone approaching. Without them, Kara knew were completely blind.

"Lucas? Alex?" Kara repeated, a bad feeling settling into her stomach.

"Guys? Where are you? Have you seen A.D?" Kara insisted, looking to Jason with concern when she still got no reply.

"Do you want answers or not?" Eddie called out from inside the apartment, as Kara followed him inside.

Kara grimaced as she entered the decrepit flat, her eyes finding mould covering the walls, as the wallpaper drooped and lay in tatters on the floor. Eddie clearly was more worried about not being found than his living conditions. Eddie quickly grabbed a duffel bag from underneath a table, making Kara frown as she saw it was already packed. Had he been expecting them?

"Jessica Dilaurentis was planning on meeting you" Kara announced.

"She never made it. She wanted to know about Aria, why she was admitted and what she talked about in Radley" Eddie informed her, catching Wren's attention.

"It was after Bethany Young's murder, right?" Wren inquired.

"She had a complete breakdown. She was too terrified to even speak…most of the time" Eddie replied, making Kara frown.

"What does that mean?" She asked.

"Aria was smart. Just like the rest of those girls. She got herself out of that place before she really lost her mind" Eddie told them, as vague as ever.

"Enough, Eddie! You know why we're here, stop bullshitting us and give some real answers!" Wren cried, growing angry.

"They came to see her…" Eddie trailed off.

"Who?" Jason queried.

"Bethany's boyfriend. I should have realised then that they expected that Aria was involved in what happened to Bethany" Eddie sighed.

"What did they find out?" Wren insisted, desperately.

"Nothing. Aria was having one of her episodes. I don't think she even realised that he was there" Eddie confessed.

"Who was it? Who was Bethany's boyfriend?" Kara questioned, as Eddie took a few seconds to reply.

"You've seen them" Eddie replied, looking to Kara.

"I know them?" Kara asked, as Eddie nodded slowly.

"What did they look like?" Wren insisted.

"Young, dark hair…it was a long time ago" Eddie sighed, as Wren held his hands up in exasperation.

"But I drew a picture of them once. Nearer the time. That guy who was writing the book, he asked for it" Eddie explained.

"Ezra Fitz? He might still have it" Kara stated, as Wren mulled over it.

"How old were they? How does Kara know them?" Wren went on, as Eddie looked conflicted.

"I can't…God, please don't ask me. You don't want to know" Eddie mumbled, his hands shaking.

"I just want the truth!" Wren cried as Eddie's eyes flickered to something above Kara's head.

"He was young, he…he went to the high school…he had money. Kara knew him, Mona knew him…That's all I'm supposed…that's all I can say…" Eddie stuttered, as Kara turned to follow Eddie's gaze.

Her eyes widened when she saw a red flashing light above the doorway, looking completely out of place in the dark apartment. It was a camera. Someone was watching them. Someone knew they were there.

"Eddie…whos' watching us?" Kara asked as Eddie's eyes flickered to the camera once more.

"Please, just go!" Eddie sobbed as Jason and Wren turned to see the camera too.

"It's A.D, isn't it?" Wren realised, with a gulp.

"…Yes! He knew you were coming. He always knows. Why do you think he killed Tyler?!" Eddie cried, grabbing Kara by the shoulders, suddenly manic.

"Why? Why did Tyler have to die?" Kara begged, her eyes filling with tears.

"It's not what you think. Tyler was only ever a d—" Eddie was cut off suddenly, taking a sharp intake of breath.

Kara flinched as she felt something splatter against her face, feeling Eddie's fingers grip her shoulders harder. Her eyes flickered down to see red pooling underneath Eddie's shirt, as his knees buckled underneath him. Looking behind him, she could see one of the windows was now shattered, a hole going through the middle.

"Oh God…" Kara gasped, realizing Eddie had been shot, as she helped lower him to the ground.

"Eddie? Eddie! Stay with us!" Wren pleaded, shaking the man's shoulders, as blood began to drip down his chin.

"It…it wasn't…all lies…" Eddie stuttered, his whole body shaking.

"Who is it? Just give us a name!" Wren insisted as Kara pressed her hands against the blood that was now pouring from Eddie's chest.

"A.D…" Eddie mumbled, before his eyes flickered close.

"No…no! Wake up. Wake up!" Wren exclaimed, shaking Eddie harder.

"Out the way…get out the way!" Kara cried, as she went to hover over Eddie's lifeless body, placing her hands on top of her chest.

She quickly began CPR, feeling something break underneath her hands, but she kept going. Just as she was about to give rescue breaths, she saw that blood had filled Eddie's mouth, spilling down his lips. He had drowned on his own blood. She had nothing to suction, nothing to stem the blood, it was too late.

"He's gone" Kara mumbled, looking down at her now bloody hands.

She couldn't believe A.D had just killed the man so easily. Like it was nothing. How did A.D even know where Eddie was? Who had tipped them off? Only Kara and her friends had known after she had told them that morning unless…one of them had betrayed the group?

"What do we…Wren?" Jason questioned, as the other man pushed himself to his feet, storming over to the window.

"I'm done! I've done everything I could…I just wanted the truth! Why couldn't you give me that?!" Wren yelled, knowing that A.D would be listening.

"Wren, don't!" Kara exclaimed, knowing where his thoughts were going.

"I want Bethany back. It's all I've ever wanted…so just do it. Kill me! Put me out of my bloody misery!" Wren shouted, raising his arms out.

"What the hell are you doing?" Jason gaped, from where he and Kara were still crouched on the floor beside Eddie.

"I want to be with Bethany. I can't…I can't watch anyone else die. Not because of her. Not because of me. I can't fight anymore" Wren sobbed, tears beginning to fall down his face.

His eyes flickered down as he saw a red dot appear on his chest, and scrunched his eyes shut. Taking a deep breath, he waited for the darkness to take him. After a few moments of silence, he opened his eyes to find the dot was gone. A.D wouldn't give him the truth, and they wouldn't give him mercy either. Letting out a low sob, Wren felt something touch his hand and turned to see Kara standing by his side, intertwining their fingers. Dropping to his knees, Kara quickly followed him, her own eyes filled with tears. A hand gripped Wren's shoulder, helping to anchor him, as he looked up to see Jason looking down at him with a sad expression. They couldn't give up yet.

The first thing Aria felt as she woke up was something cold against her wrists. As her eyes fluttered open, she was blinded by a bright light directly above her head. She tried to move her arms up to shield her but realised she couldn't move. Looking down at her body, she panicked when she felt saw her hands were shackled, metal chains wrapped around her body. Straining to look above the box she was in, she could just see over the edge, spotting Alison and Emily to one side of her. Aria's eyes darted to her left to see Spencer and Hanna to her other side, a chill going down her spine when she realised they weren't in boxes. They were in coffins.

"Hey…hey! Wake up. Guys, wake up!" Aria called out, as the group slowly started to wake up.

"What…what's going on?" Emily panicked, straining against the chains around her.

"We were in the prison van. How did we get here?" Spencer questioned, trying to look around.

The room they were in was small, only just fitting the five coffins, with one doorway a few meters away from them. Spencer's eyes widened when she saw the door was open and instantly began to concoct a plan.

"Someone's coming…" Alison trailed off, as they heard footsteps approaching.

None of the girls could have prepared for what was coming, the shock making them freeze as a familiar face walked through the doorway. Emily felt her heart stop for a moment when the woman, clad in a red coat stopped in front of her coffin. She was almost on the verge of a panic attack when the woman finally spoke.

"Hello, Emily. It's been a long time" Maya announced, a small smirk on her face.

"Maya?" Emily gaped; her eyes wide.

"Y-you're dead. We saw your body!" Hanna exclaimed as Maya quirked an eyebrow.

"You saw a body bag. It's not quite the same, is it Ali?" Maya pointed out, turning to the blonde.

"All this time you've been alive. Why didn't you tell me?" Emily insisted, feeling tears welling in her eyes.

"Because I wanted you to suffer. Just like you've made so many people suffer over the years" Maya answered.

"Your working for A.D?" Aria realised, as Maya nodded.

"You've reached the end of the line, girls. Welcome to the end" Maya smirked, walking over to a nearby panel, and pressing a button.

Aria was the first one to realise what was happening, as the lid to the coffin began to slowly slide over her. She let out a panicked cry as it moved to cover her slowly, hearing the other girls screaming beside her.

"Maya! Please, don't!" Emily cried, as her own coffin lid almost completely covered her.

"We're begging you—" Alison began, but Maya cut her off.

"Is that what Bethany did? Beg you to stop?" Maya questioned, as the darkness engulfed the girls.

"I'll leave you to have some time with your thoughts" Maya's voice trailed off, as the girls continued to scream, hearing the door in the room slam shut.

Author's Notes: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I've started a new Harry Potter fanfic which I would love you guys to check out on my profile, it's called the Quest for Revenge! As you read above, next chapter I plan to write the big reveal. I think there have been enough clues in this story for most of you can probably already work it out, so apologies if it's not a big shock next chapter...but at least it will make sense, haha. My last clue is Tyler's death happened for a very simple and sad reason...that's all I can say, haha. Please leave a review:)

aldupotterbing: Thanks for the review:)

Purplestan: She's an acquired taste I guess, haha. Still better than the Alex Drake on the show IMO though.

Nicole Beverley234: Thank you! I decided to go ahead with the Harry Potter fic in the end, the first chapter's up on my profile:)

Ineveryfandon: The girls are definitely going to regret all the lies they've said over the years, that's for sure. Let's just hope Kara gets her happy ending and finally hears the truth! Thanks for reviewing:)

Hope10: Fingers crossed we'll get a Kara/Jason wedding, haha. A.D's certainly taken them somewhere, and they're not playing anymore. Thanks for reviewing:)

Guest: I think I said it earlier in this story that some things are AU, and I decided to have Ian die in the belltower. Alison just faked the suicide note instead of Mona. I can't remember what chapter it was explained in I'm afraid, there's too many now, haha. Sorry! Thanks for reviewing:)

Princess1: Spencer will definitely meet Alex, don't worry!
