AN: Hi, everyone! Ho Ho Ho! As I said in the previous chapter, this is the real ending of this story. Consider it a Christmas present in advance. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed thinking about it and creating it. This chapter is based on two short Disney films. Try to find out what they are. I'll give you a hint: both shorts are sort of mini sequels and certain important events occur in them. With nothing more to say, go ahead with the chapter!
It was a beautiful day in Republic City. After a few weeks of recovery due to the consequences of the war against Shredder, things had returned to normal. Although right now, on a certain island, the situation wasn't quite normal.
"A little higher up. No, wait. A little further down. Okay, now to the left. No, better to the right. You know what? Better put it back where it was before." said Korra instructing Donnie and Mikey who were trying to hang something over a bow.
"Recently you bravely stood up to earthbenders, aliens from another dimension, ninja robots, evil mutants and a murderous psychopath. How are you nervous about this?" asked Karai.
"How am I not? It's MY wedding." said Korra.
That's right, Korra and Asami's wedding. After weeks of preparation, the moment that many were waiting for had finally arrived. The turtles and their friends (Karai, April and Casey) had arrived to help with the preparations, as the wedding was to take place at noon.
"We understand, but you don't have to be nervous." said Jinora.
"Yes, we are here to help you." said Mako.
"But there's still a lot to do, I have to go put on my dress, set the tables, the guests, the decorations, the flowers, the..." began Korra beginning to lose control of her mind.
"Wow, wow, wow." began Leo stopping his friend. "Calm down. You go get ready; we'll take care of everything." said Leo.
"Are you sure you can handle it?" asked Korra.
"You're talking to a group of ninjas and benders who have stood up to the Foot troops and Shredder. We can handle it." said Raph.
"*Sigh* It's okay. Just make sure everything is in order." said Korra.
"Just in case. Jinora, Ikki, you go with Korra and help her out as much as you can. Karai and April, go see Asami and see if she is ready. The rest of us will take care of the rest." Leo ordered.
The four girls nodded in agreement and while the young airbenders accompanied the Avatar, the two Kunoichis teenagers went to the Sato mansion.
Shortly after they left, things were almost completely ready for the ceremony.
"Well, the heat lamps are on." Donnie said lighting some heat lamps located at the edges of a table and between them was a giant pyramid of pizza boxes.
"Heat lamps?" Mako asked.
"Have you ever tried cold pizza?" Mikey asked rhetorically.
"Good point." said Mako.
"Hey, Donnie, did you bring what Mikey and I asked for?" asked Bolin.
"You mean this?" asked Casey next to a large object that was covered by a blanket, which Casey removed, revealing it to be a DJ mixer.
"Wow, what is that?" asked Meelo.
"It's a mixer. It's for making music from a combination of different music." Donnie explained.
"Think of it as a band, but with two different beats mixed in." said Leo.
"Once we put this on, the party will be perfect." Bolin said, showing a disc.
"If that's the case, you better be careful." said Mako.
"Come on, Mako, trust me. We have almost everything we need and there's plenty of time for the ceremony. Nothing can go wrong." said Bolin, holding out his arms.
Unfortunately, when he looked at his hands, he realized the disc wasn't in them. Everyone looked to the side to see the disc rolling out of sight.
The others gave the earthly master a glare as he gave them a nervous smile.
"Oops. Jiji. I better go get it back." said Bolin before running after the puck.
"I'll go with you." said Mikey running after him.
"I don't know why, but I was expecting something like that." said Raph.
"Me too." said Mako.
"Well. While they're at it, let's finish the decorations." said Leo before the others returned to take care of the rest.
At the Temple of the Air Island, in one of the rooms, Korra was trying on her dress in front of the mirror, with Jinora and Ikki looking at her from behind.
"Well, what do you think?" Korra asked.
"You look amazing." said Ikki.
"Asami will be a very lucky woman." said Jinora.
"Thank you. By the way, I know it's not important, but... do you know anything about Shredder?" asked Korra.
"Leo informed us of his situation earlier." said Jinora.
"He was convicted of all of his crimes and put in prison for life and is being watched all the time to prevent his escape." said Ikki.
"I'm glad to hear that. I would hate for this wedding to go bad." said Korra.
"Don't be negative. It will be fine. You have us to help you. Besides, after everything that's happened, you deserve to be happy." Jinora said.
Korra smiled at the words of the young airbender before the two shared a tender embrace.
At that moment, Ikki noticed something out of the corner of her eye. Approaching the window, she was surprised to see Bolin and Mikey chasing a disc as if it were a valuable treasure. Just by looking at that she could guess that a small complication had arisen.
"Is something wrong?" Korra asked.
Ikki quickly closed the window and turned around, flashing a nervous smile.
"No. No. Nothing is wrong. Nothing you need to worry about." said Ikki nervously waiting for them to swallow the excuse.
Both the Avatar and her older sister were a little suspicious, but in the end they shrugged their shoulders, deciding to ignore the subject and the three of them returned to the main issue.
Bolin and Mikey continued to chase the disc, but for some natural reason, the disc kept rolling and rolling as if the whole island was some kind of circuit.
"Mikey, stop it!" shouted Bolin.
"That's done." Mikey said, throwing several shurikens that acted as a barrier.
However, near them was a rock that the puck used as a ramp to get over the barrier. Leaving the chasers surprised.
"Let's see if you can avoid this." Bolin said as he stepped on the ground, causing a rock wall to rise.
Unfortunately, the bottom of the wall was sloped, which caused the disc to pass over it and roll down the wall until it ended up going in the opposite direction from the one it was going in before.
Bolin and Mikey stopped and watched as the disc passed by them, leaving the two pursuers completely stunned.
"Come on! Is this some kind of joke of the universe or what?" asked Bolin.
"Don't ask and run." said Mikey, chasing the runaway disc again with Bolin following in his footsteps.
It had taken a while, but Karai and April had finally arrived at the Sato mansion.
"I hope Asami isn't nervous." said April.
"She's the head of an important company and she's faced the most dangerous man in the world, I doubt something like a wedding will make her nervous." said Karai, but the moment they arrived at her room door, they heard something they didn't expect to hear, cries of sadness. "Or maybe I'm wrong."
When the two girls opened the door, they saw a pile of clothes lying on the floor and Asami was sitting on her bed, covering her face with her hands while she let out some sobs.
"Asami!" exclaimed April, drawing the engineer's attention as they approached her. "What happened? Did you get mugged?"
"No. It's much worse." said Asami, removing her hands so they could see her face. "I'm fat."
Both teenagers were silent, puzzled by what she had said. Karai couldn't help but chuckle.
"Really?" Karai asked, trying to hold back the laughter.
"It's not funny!" said Asami.
"Okay. Everybody calm down. Tell us what happened." said April.
"This morning I tried on my mother's wedding dress, but it didn't fit. I thought there was a problem with the dress, but when I tried on last year's clothes, none of them fit. What if I don't make it to the ceremony at all? What if Korra doesn't like me anymore?" asked Asami starting to get very nervous.
"It's okay. Hold the car. How can you think that just because you can't wear a dress?" Karai asked.
"She's right." started April sitting next to the engineer. "If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that real beauty is on the inside. When Korra proposed to you, she was probably not thinking about how you were on the outside, but how you were on the inside."
Asami paused for a moment to think about it. She was right. When Korra proposed to her, she never mentioned her beauty or her looks, she only mentioned what she meant to her emotionally. How could she think that I would stop loving her for something as superficial as that? For a moment she thought about banging her head at the thought of such stupidity.
She took a look at the engagement necklace Korra gave her and wiped the tears from her face with her arm.
"You're right. I can't let something like this ruin our special day." said Asami.
"That's the spirit. Now let's get you ready. Those tears have spoiled quite a bit." said Karai.
"And don't worry about the dress. I'll make a few little adjustments so it can fit you." said April.
Asami got up and accompanied the kunoichi to the bathroom to put on her makeup and so forth, while April got to work on the dress.
After a while, the turtles and their friends had managed to set up everything needed for the ceremony. From the lined up chairs, to the tables with food and drinks, to the decorations.
At this point, they were receiving some of the guests who had arrived earlier, putting them in their corresponding places among the chairs that were there.
"I'm glad you came, Kuvira." Leo said.
"I still can't believe I'm here." said Kuvira wearing a dress.
"Hey. My mother got permission for you to come to the wedding, you couldn't refuse." said Opal in her own dress.
"Especially since you're the bridesmaid." Leo said.
Kuvira smiled as she recalled the surprise and joy she felt when she was asked to be the bridesmaid at the wedding. She was still wondering how it was that she agreed without a second thought.
"Hey, Leo. Bolin told me he had a surprise for everyone at the wedding. Do you have any idea what it is?" Opal asked.
"Unfortunately, only he and Mikey know. They want to make sure it's a surprise for everyone." said Leo.
"I'm sure it will be a big surprise and one we'll all like." Opal said.
Elsewhere, Splinter was the next to arrive at the site of the ceremony.
"An impressive organization." Splinter said.
"Thank you, sensei." Donnie said.
"There's nothing that teamwork can't accomplish." said Mako.
"One question, what happened to the raptoloids in the end?" asked Meelo, curious about the mutant lizards.
"After much searching, we managed to find an island with the right conditions for them to live in peace away from humans." explained Splinter.
"How nice." said Meelo.
That's when the mutant rat noticed something.
"By the way, where are Bolin and Michelangelo?" Splinter asked, noting their absence.
"Let's just say they both had a little complication." said Donnie.
"They better be on time. The wedding is in less than an hour." said Raph.
Mikey and Bolin were still running after the disc which, for some particular reason, was still rolling on the floor.
"Can you think of any other plan?" asked Mikey.
"No. Every time we try something, the disc always manages to get around it." said Bolin.
"Is there no one to stop it?" asked Mikey.
The disc kept rolling and rolling until suddenly, someone got in the way and the disc crashed into it, finally stopping.
Mikey and Bolin saw it and stopped as well, discovering that it was Pepper who had stopped the disc.
"Uf, thank God that's over." said Mikey wiping the sweat off his forehead with his arm before going to pick up the disc.
"Hey Mikey, when did the ceremony start?" asked Bolin looking up to the sky.
"At noon, why?" asked Mikey.
"Because it's almost noon!" exclaimed Bolin pointing to the sun that was almost at the top.
"Holy chalupa! We have to hurry!" exclaimed Mikey.
Quickly, the two set off for the ceremony.
After what seemed like an eternity, the moment had arrived.
The sun warmly illuminated the ceremony that was taking place. With no clouds around it to spoil it.
Korra was waiting at the altar in a beautiful light blue suit with some details of the Water Tribes. At her side was Tenzin, who would be officiating the ceremony and on both sides of the altar were Leo, Kuvira, Mako and Opal, the godparents, and the bridesmaids.
Sitting on the chairs were the turtles, the Mutanimals, the young airbenders, Lin, Suyin and her family, Kya, Bumi, Kai, Varrick, Zhu Li, Senna, Katara, Eska, Deska, Wu, the family of Mako and Bolin; and even Toph, Zuko and Jargala were among the attendees.
Mikey positioned himself on the mixer, preparing to give the musical touch. But at the first second of starting, there was a static sound that caught everyone's attention. Mikey took the disc and blew some dust off the floor before rubbing it with a handkerchief and putting it back in place.
He started again and the ceremony music began to play smoothly. Everyone looked back to see Tonraq holding Asami by the arm, who to everyone, especially Korra, looked absolutely beautiful in her pink dress and engagement necklace being lit up by the sunlight, with a bouquet of red and blue roses in her hands.
Both she and Korra's father began walking down the aisle.
"I know it's none of my business, but I'm sure your father will be very proud of you." Tonraq said with a smile.
"Thank you." said Asami smiling back.
After a couple more steps, they reached the altar.
"Take care of her for me." said Tonraq.
"I will." said Asami before separating from him and standing in front of her future wife as Tonraq sat next to his wife who kept shedding tears of happiness.
Seeing that everyone and everything was ready, Tenzin began to speak.
"Family, friends and loved ones. We have gathered today on this wonderful day to celebrate the union between these two people. As my father once learned. The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light. Like those words, these two women lived many dark moments throughout their lives, but in the end they found the light to overcome that darkness in the other. Today, these two women are here to seal their great love for each other in holy matrimony."
"Korra of the Southern Water Tribe, do you take this woman to be your wife and promise to love and respect her forever?" Tenzin asked.
"Yes, I do." Korra said, smiling and doing her best not to jump up and kiss her future wife.
"Asami Sato, do you take this woman as your wife and promise to love and respect her forever?" Tenzin asked.
"Yes, I do." said Asami with a smile and going through what her future wife is going through.
"In that case, by the power vested in me by the spirits, I pronounce you wife and wife. You may kiss." said Tenzin.
Korra and Asami shared the biggest kiss of their lives, with Korra wrapping her arms around Asami's waist and she wraps her arms around Korra's neck. That kiss was certainly the most special, as it marked the beginning of a new beginning for them.
The whole crowd exploded in applause and cheers. Some of them couldn't help but shed tears of joy, among them Senna, Katara and Varrick.
Even Mikey was shedding tears of happiness. "Oh, I love happy endings." said Mikey taking a handkerchief to blow his nose. "But even more so if they have a last act!" exclaimed Mikey hitting a button on the table, causing a compartment to open to reveal a keyboard. "Hit it, B!"
At that moment, music began to play. While for most it was unfamiliar music, for the visitors to New York it was very familiar, they even thought about how they hadn't seen it coming.
Mikey began to play the keyboard while Casey and Meelo stood next to him, both with a guitar and between the three of them was Bolin, wearing sunglasses and a microphone.
I thought love was only true in fairy tales.
At first there was surprise and confusion among the guests, but seeing that it was a kind of musical show, they decided to let it continue.
Meant for someone else but not for me.
Asami prepared to throw the bouquet while most of the women and girls invited gathered to try to catch it.
Love was out to get me, that's the way it seemed, disappointment haunted all my dreams.
She threw it and they all went crazy to catch it, but the bouquet passed over them and landed, to everyone's surprise, in the hands of Lin, who was more surprised by it, although Kya laughed a little at it.
And then I saw her face. Now I'm a believer.
Most of the guests couldn't help but dance to the music; there were some who danced in pairs. Like Varrick and Zhu Li, Jinora and Kai, and even Opal started dancing next to Bolin who kept singing.
And not a trace. Of doubt in my mind. I'm in love. I'm a believer. I couldn't leave her if I tried.
"Let's go there!" shouted Bolin.
Then I saw her face. Now I'm a believer. Not a trace of doubt in my mind. I'm in love. I'm a believer. I couldn't leave her if I tried.
"You're breaking it, buddy!" shouted Casey.
Then I saw her faaaaace. Now I'm a believer.
"Hey!" shouted Bolin.
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
"One more time!" shouted Meelo.
I'm in loooooove. I'm a believer.
"Come on!" shouted Bolin.
I believe. I believe. I believe. I believe. I believe. I believe. I believe. I believe. I believe.
(I'm a believer)
"Hey!" shouted the four of them in unison.
"Come on, sing it with me!" shouted Bolin.
I believe.
(I'm a believer)
I believe.
(I'm a believer)
I believe.
(I'm a believer)
As requested, most of the people who followed the rhythm and understood the song began to sing along with the band. Meanwhile, Korra and Asami got on the back of Naga, who had a wreath on her head. Pulling the reins, the two women rode towards the horizon, towards the beginning of a new beginning.
AN: END. Here ends the longest story I have written so far. I would like to thank all the people who have followed this story to the end. I know that some of you may have already noticed the many similarities of this story with 'Frozen Turtles', but the reason for that was that I really liked that story and I wanted to make my own version. Still, I hope you enjoyed it, see you in the next story in 2021! I wish you all a happy holiday season and a happy new year!
PS: Tell me if you would like a sequel to this story.
