I really wanted Clark to just have some degree in journalism like he should. Stay safe.

Clark woke up to the sound of coughing and vomiting and looked to Grace immediately thinking something happened with her. He saw Grace sleeping peacefully and looked around to where he heard the sound coming from originally. He got up from the bed and headed towards the bathroom where he spotted Alicia kneeling next to the toilet. He walked over to her and sat down next to her and held her hair back. Alicia took a second to breath after the latest cycle of emptying everything out of her stomach this morning before saying, "Thanks I think we must have had bad sushi last night because it's all coming back up now, so let's just cross it off the list since this is how the first experience went." Clark for the most part couldn't help but look at her with a sense of guilt since he was pretty much immune to food poisoning and had absolutely no idea what she was going through. Clark kept rubbing her back and holding her back while he said, "Alright so we can cut that out of all of our menus from now on it's not a problem." Alicia lightly leaned into him thankful for the support he was providing.
Alicia found herself feeling better a couple minutes later and began preparing for the day. Clark let her take the bathroom while he went to check on Grace. He found her still sleeping which both parents were glad for as even though she slept through the night most times it was starting to become a more regular thing even though they didn't mind having to tend to her in the middle of the night. Clark had taken care of her during the days for the last couple of weeks while Alicia was at work. They both talked about it some more and felt that since Clark was only about two semesters of credit hours from getting his associates degree in journalism that he would do an online program to finish while they were here. That made up their lives for the most part at this time with Clark taking care of Grace while going to school online from their apartment and Alicia working at the space center.

As April saw Alicia she noticed that she looked paler and commented, "Rough morning?" Alicia just gave a light chuckle then responded, "Remember how I told you me and Clark were going to this nice Japanese restaurant to try sushi." April gave a nod of understanding from remembering the conversation. Alicia continued, "Well apparently the sushi didn't agree with me or there was something wrong with it because this morning I woke with the feeling that my throat was burning, and everything seemed to have been coming out of my mouth not seconds later." April gave her a questioning glance as cogs started turning in her head and she asked, "Hey random thought when was your last period?" Alicia thought nothing of the question and answered, "Well over a month ago, so it's a little late, but you know that my cycle has always been super messed up, pretty sure it's some type of side effect of the meteorite. There was that one time it was a month and a half late, so this is nothing unusual." April nodded her head hoping that what she was thinking was wrong and decided to not bring up her thoughts at this point since it very well could be food poisoning.

Alicia walked in just as pale as the day prior and walked over to April who saw her and had a constipated look. Alicia gave her a second before asking, "Okay what is it? Why are you looking at me like that?" April gave sheepish grin before replying, "So you were sick again?" Alicia gave a nod and responded, "Yeah it's kind of weird since after yesterday morning I was fine for the rest of the day but then all of a sudden it came back this morning. I hope this is the last of it." April gave a snicker and commented, "I doubt it." Alicia just rolled her eyes before asking, "And why do you think so?" April brought her hand up and made the motion of zipping her mouth shut before giving a smirk and heading to a filing cabinet.
Alicia decided to follow up on April's comment instead of letting it go and followed her to the filing cabinet and asked, "Okay seriously, why do you think something is up with my food poisoning?" April gave a raised eyebrow before responding, "I'm just saying maybe it's not food poisoning." Alicia gave a blank face while asking "Then what else could it possibly be?" April filed a chart away before closing the cabinet and gesturing Alicia to follow her to some chairs to take a seat.
As they both took a seat April started, "I could be totally wrong, but you look exactly like I did a couple weeks ago as it started for me. It never really gets better but you find yourself getting through it easier as it goes on. I'll make the assumption that if this keeps happening that I am correct in thinking that what you are actually experiencing is not food poisoning but in fact morning sickness." Alicia just sat there for a while her thoughts going a million miles a minute.
April let her think for a couple of minutes before grabbing one of her hands and breaking her out of her stupor. As Alicia looked to her April said, "I would recommend getting a test on your way home tonight that way you can know for sure whether you are or aren't and you can also talk to Clark about." Alicia didn't give a response at first continuing to stare at April before squeaking out, "I can't be pregnant. I mean I'm not suppose have Grace for like another five years." April gave a chuckle before saying, "Alicia I hate to break it to you, but that other timeline that you were aware of should be forgotten at this point with how many changes that have been made." Alicia took a moment to register her words before asking in a whispered tone to no one in particular, "How is Clark going to react to this?" The rest of the day continued as usual with the exception of Alicia getting lost in her thoughts multiple times.

Clark was sitting on the couch with his laptop open completing his assignments for his online classes when he heard the door open and looked over to see Alicia walking in with a Walgreens bag. He noticed something was wrong the second he saw her face as she looked even more sick than this morning. He put his laptop down and made his way over to her. He came up to Alicia and could see that her hands were slightly shaking and asked, "What's wrong? Are your symptoms getting worse? Should we take you to the doctors?" Alicia gave a small smile at his thoughtfulness and gave a strained reply, "I'm fine Clark. I need to go to the bathroom so go ahead finish whatever you were doing, and I'll see you in a little." She gave him a quick kiss before almost dreadfully making her way to the bathroom clutching the small bag, she was caring with all her might.
Clark watched worriedly as she made her way to the bathroom. He made his way to the kitchen and began making some chamomile tea for her while keeping his ear open in case something went wrong and she tried calling for help. He finished making the tea and poured some into her favorite mug before heading to the doorway of their bedroom to wait for her. He sat there for a couple of minutes until he heard what he believed to be crying coming from Alicia in the bathroom. He placed her tea on one of their nightstands before gently knocking on the bathroom door. He waited a few seconds before he heard a slight sniffle approach the door.
As she opened the door, she had tear streaks running down her face with one of her hands behind her back as her whole body was shaking. Clark felt heartbroken at the sight of Alicia looking so broken and immediately rushed up to her and held her into his embrace. He could feel his shirt starting to get damp around his chest but didn't mind it one bit and kept trying sooth her until she was able to reign herself in from whatever upset her. Eventually Clark brought her over to the bed to take a seat. He sat next to her and wiped the tears from her face and asked, "So can you tell me what happened?" Alicia took a deep and calming breath before replying in a hoarse voice, "I'm scared to say it because even though I know you will be supportive in my mind I keep thinking that what if this isn't something you want, and it begins undoing everything we made together over our time together and instead pushes us apart." Clark put an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him and rested his head against her. He looked her in the eyes and said, "No matter what happened I'll always be here." Alicia took another deep breath before showing Clark what was in her hand and said, "I found out that I'm uh, I'm pregnant." Clark stared at the pregnancy test for what seemed like an eternity to Alicia to the point that she thought he might actually go back on what he said earlier and was about to say something when Clark whispered, "We're having a baby. We are having a baby." He looked up to her face with a giant smile and continued, "Me and you are having a baby. Grace is going to have a little sister or brother. Oh my god we're going to have a baby." Alicia began chuckling at his enthusiasm before saying, "I'm glad you're taking this better than I did." Clark gave a light sigh before responding, "I'll admit it was definitely earlier than I expected, but we already have Grace. It's not like we're completely new to parenting and it's not like I wasn't expecting this at some point in our relationship." Anything else that was going to be said was interrupted by the sound of Grace waking up and wanting attention.
Both made their way to Grace's crib as Alicia picked her up and Clark noticed she needed a change. They both helped to give Grace a quick change and headed out to the living room.
Alicia laid Grace down on her play mat while Clark and Alicia both took a seat on the couch. They both sat in silence until Clark broke out into a huge smile and said, "It's kind of funny to think the only time we did it unprotected was the only time needed for you to get pregnant. It was also on this very couch, granted different place, but still sentimental all the same." Alicia could only roll her eyes at his comments before saying, "I'm going to have to go through with puking everything in my stomach every day and hope that whenever the cravings kick in it chooses something that agrees with me." Alicia leaned her head onto his shoulder as they both watched Grace play with her different toys.
Around twenty minutes later Clark asked, "Did you have anything particularly in mind for dinner?" Alicia gave a, "Hm" as she took a second to think and responded, "I think I'm just going to have some cereal." Clark gave a nod of agreement as he said, "You go ahead grab yourself a bowl and I'll watch her then we can switch." Alicia gave a quick "okay" before heading to the kitchen.
Alicia soon came back with a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats and saw Clark raise an eyebrow at her choice of cereal and responded, "During university I couldn't take the time for a proper meal since I was short on time to get in between classes so I would just eat these dry while on the move to my next classes and slowly they became my favorite." Clark just put his hands up in a surrendering motion and went to grab his bowl of cereal.
Clark came back with a much bigger bowl of Cookie Crisp and sat down next to her as she shook her head at his choice in cereal and said, "It still amazes me that you can eat such large amounts of junk food and not have a single downside from it." Clark swallowed his mouthful before responding, "Well as long as I get rays from the yellow sun then my powers regulate my body for the most part. Plus, I'm sure the use of my powers takes a decent amount of energy to burn, so that helps as well. I also never really was a cereal person since we really only had Cheerios and corn flakes, so now I want to try all of these crazy flavors and types that I'm discovering in the store." Alicia just shook her head at his goal for the cereal, but happy that he was becoming a little less high strung about life.
They finished their cereal and made their way to the kitchen where Clark started washing the bowls and Alicia started feeding Grace. Once Clark put the bowls on the drying rack, he made his way back to Alicia and said, "We're going to have to find a doctor that we can trust for your checkups and the birth. I mean everything till after the birth should be fine since she shouldn't have most if any of her powers which would make it seem like a completely normal pregnancy and birth." Alicia understood where his fears were coming from and couldn't help but follow the same thought process.
They both stood there lost in their own thoughts until they heard a gurgle come from below and realized that Grace had finished. They went back to the couch where Alicia continued to hold onto Grace and play with her. Clark looked at them for a couple of minutes before joining in and said, "Maybe my mom might know a doctor we can trust. Do you think we can tell her the news this weekend or is it too early?" Alicia let Grace grab her finger as she responded, "I think you're supposed to wait till the end of the first trimester, but I don't think there's anything wrong with telling her early." Clark gave her a deep kiss and said, "Thanks, it means a lot to me for her to know. Plus, she will probably be doting on you heavily from now on." Alicia gave a smile and settle her thoughts on, 'We'll handle this together and we can get through this no matter what.' They both played with Grace until she began getting tired and they put her to sleep before getting some rest themselves.
