p class="MsoNormal"We had arrived hours ago. Jarvis and Tony was working into SHIELD. I waited patiently for them whilst lounging on the chair. It was taking too long. Pepper had ordered food and everyone was sat talking and waiting for Tony and Jarvis to appear out for wherever he was lurking. Eric and Jane were working on the device Enya had left to fix Bruce. She had left her tablet and Jane and Eric thought they should finish it off until Enya could get back./p
p class="MsoNormal"It was strange at times like this. Usually I could function by myself. I hadn't needed others to help me in anything. As a young child I quickly learnt Thor was the favourite. And that was all everyone had cared about. I thought it was because he was stronger, he was favoured, he was so much like Odin; the all-father. I had never realised it was because he was of Asgard, and I Loki, was Bifrost. I was not of Asgard and therefore never to be in line for the throne. No matter how hard I trained my magic. No matter how powerful of a sorcerer I became. I was never able to lift a sword. I was never able to be a built as Thor. I had no ability to fight a war physically. But my beautiful mother said I had other ways I could join the war. I could heal. I could fight with sorcery. Soon I became the best and strongest sorcerer on Asgard. In all the nine realms. And I was still not worthy./p
p class="MsoNormal"But Enya, she didn't care. She brushed me off like some Midgardian ant. She did not care about my gifts. And she did not care for my past. She was a strange woman. She'd watch me as I walked around commanding respect. She'd silently make anything I gave to her; with or without manners. But the women around her loved her. They loved spending time in her silent company. They loved talking to her even if she did not respond. For a Midgardian she was completely accepted into their lives./p
p class="MsoNormal"Her fiery red hair and her ability to always cause herself injury gave me to pause that maybe there was something I hadn't been seeing. I still looked now, but despite her gifts she was just like any other mortal. I didn't see something special in her that had captivated others attention./p
p class="MsoNormal"When Enya was dying, these avengers stopped fighting, to rethink. All because this woman was hurt. They have seen something that is unfathomable to me./p
p class="MsoNormal""I just spoke to Tony. He's close. Then we can get ready to move."/p
p class="MsoNormal""I would hate to think what they are doing to the poor girl." Natasha thought aloud. "All those scars. They must be capable of even worse brutality."/p
p class="MsoNormal""They wouldn't hurt her anymore would they?" I almost bit out a dry remark when I saw how hopeless the popsicle looked. He was in pain over the thought. I knew he was some righteous pompous old mortal, but to be in pain over the thought of someone else's pain?/p
p class="MsoNormal""Is she afraid of anything?" Clint asked me. I shrugged. I didn't think so. "Who would know? As you are not as important to her as we thought." The comment stung but I dialled Neil's number anyway. I put the phone on loud like Neil taught me. He answered immediately./p
p class="MsoNormal""Sir?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""I need to speak to Miah." He shouted her name in the background and I heard her move towards the phone./p
p class="MsoNormal""Loki? Is everything ok?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""You know Enya best." I stated. "Was she afraid of anything?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""Loki, this is Enya. Enya wasn't afraid of anything."/p
p class="MsoNormal""Anything at all?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""No. She battled homelessness in ease. She battled change with ease. She was shot and she didn't even bat an eyelid once afterwards. She acted like it never happened." She looked at the blood that was dripping down her arm like she hadn't even realised it was so messy./p
p class="MsoNormal""She never even hinted at a fear?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""As I just said Loki. Enya never was afraid of anything. She followed you around the world on her own without even being worried. She doesn't have the part in her brain that tells her the situation isn't normal."/p
p class="MsoNormal""Is there anything you can tell us about Enya that will help us?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""She's a lousy cook. Besides that, there isn't anything of use." Miah sighed. "Look, you are all under the impression I know Enya best. I don't know her as well as you think. I know she forgets to eat; often. I know she can stay up for days and not realise she's tired. I can tell you she can knit and sing and dance. But she cannot cook and cannot paint. I can tell you she likes her hair long and her room smelling of floral scents. I can tell you she doesn't like cabbage. She can't stand it. I can tell you she was born on the nineteenth of August. I can tell you she didn't even know what a dog really was until she met me. I can tell you she is not self-conscious. I can tell you she's intelligent and really good with technology but can't understand emotions. She can't hate anyone. And she can't love either. The closest thing to love she gets is Warren. She adores the dog to a level she can't even comprehend. Besides that and her identic memory, I have no information to be of use."/p
p class="MsoNormal""And none of your friends know anymore than you do?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""Probably not. She spoke to them once or twice, but it was rare." She stopped talking and then murmured. "This might be something of use. I don't see how but maybe. Enya needs purpose to her life. Before it was to flourish on the streets. She wanted to be the best and strive for greatness. When she worked for Loki it was to build this giant thing that everyone said wasn't possible. She wanted to prove the possible. When Loki disappeared she had to find him. To prove she could find him and stop him from doing anymore damage. When we moved to where civilisation was minimal she had a purpose, to get everyone settled and start building. But she started to lose it. She would wander off for hours, once an entire day."/p
p class="MsoNormal""She needs to be doing something." Natasha said looking at Tony./p
p class="MsoNormal""I think she needs something purposeful. Not just any ole thing. I think that is why she would help. Because you asked her and I am assuming SHIELD couldn't. She has to be proving something."/p
p class="MsoNormal""She thinks she is going bad."/p
p class="MsoNormal""What Steve?" Natasha asked again./p
p class="MsoNormal""She was built to be a weapon. She doesn't want to be. But if she isn't a weapon what is she?" Nobody answered. "Precisely. She doesn't know what she is to do if she isn't a weapon. She wants to prove she can do something, anything, that is great in the world. Besides being a dangerous villain."/p
p class="MsoNormal""She wants to prove she can do what she wants and not what they want."/p
p class="MsoNormal""They aren't going to break her." Tony frowned. "They are going to destroy her."/p
p class="MsoNormal""I have to go."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Miah gave the phone back to Neil. "Sir, anything I can do?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""Not at this time." I disengaged the call and looked at the others. What did we do then?/p
p class="MsoNormal""How quick can they reach that point?" I saw that they all looked to Natasha and she almost blushed./p
p class="MsoNormal""If she is strong, a while. But that depends on breaks, the level of pain, the intensity. If it is constant intense torture, she'll last mere hours. How good are Hydra?" She looked to the Steve Rodgers./p
p class="MsoNormal""They are well beyond our level of morals. They don't have any. They used the tesseract, they brainwashed Bucky and they tried to blow us up. I don't think they have a good level."/p
p class="MsoNormal""They're going to destroy her." Tony repeated. "If,"/p
p class="MsoNormal""Sir, I am in the system of SHIELD. Shall I proceed with collecting all data?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""Yes Jarvis. And quick."/p
p class="MsoNormal""Done Sir. The coordinates are sixty one-twenty seven-thirty four point one North. Ninety four- oh two-fifteen point two West."/p
p class="MsoNormal""Canada?" Clint frowned. "They went back to Canada."/p
p class="MsoNormal""That isn't the last address though. That's further north."/p
p class="MsoNormal""Let's move."/p
