Warning: mentions a one night stand

"Here I go again," Hermione sighed, raising her hand to knock on the door. The night sky hid the expression on Hermione's face, the determination she was trying to show. She didn't know if Lavender would even open the door for her, not after what she'd done that morning. "How can I resist her," she added with a slight laugh as the door slide open.

"Hermione? What are you doing here? It's nearly midnight?" Lavender asked, blinking her sleepy blue eyes. She glanced up and down the street quickly before turning her attention back to Hermione.

"I know, I just got off work and I guess I didn't realize how late it actually was. Can I come in?" Hermione asked, giving Lavender a sort of smile.

"Sure, why not, it's not like I'm going back to sleep anyway," Lavender answered, stepping aside and letting Hermione in. "I missed you," Lavender commented after a moment. "I... I mean, I didn't think you'd come back after-"

"After I woke up in your bed with you and I ran off before you woke?" Hermione offered, thinking about her actions of that morning. She hadn't even been in a hurry to get to work. She couldn't quite explain what she'd been thinking when she'd slipped out in the early dawn.

"Exactly. Most of my one night stands don't usually show back up the next night carrying... wait, is that Thai food?" Lavender asked, her eyes finally spotting the bags in Hermione's hands. Her eyes widened seeing the logo on the otherwise plain white paper bags.

"It is. I couldn't remember if you liked Thai, but it was the only place open this late anywhere near here," Hermione said, holding the bags up like a peace offering. Lavender smiled despite herself.

"It's my favorite," Lavender admitted. "No point in letting it get cold," she added, leading Hermione to the dining room and finding the pair a set of plates. Hermione started unpacking the food.

"I couldn't stop thinking about you, about what we did," Hermione admitted. "I mean, about last night."

"We were both drunk, or at least I was," Lavender stated, taking a bite.

"I might have been a bit more than I am willing to admit, but does it really change things?"

"Maybe? I mean, I've slept with people before, woken up in strange beds. None of them have showed up with food," she added, taking another bite, "and especially not from my favorite Thai place. I know it was more than a coincidence."

"It really was the only place open. Well, that I might have seen their menu on your fridge. Either way, I want to think what we did together might mean something more than we were just both lonely, that there might be more for us to say."

"Like what?" Lavender asked, studying Hermione.

"Like the fact we both lost control around each other, that just one look and we ended up together in bed. I mean, I know attraction is one thing, but the fact I kept thinking about you all day, the fact I missed your lips on mine. I was an idiot to leave this morning."

"Wow, the brilliant Hermione admitting she was wrong about something?" Lavender teased, laughing.

"Guess we all have our flaws. And maybe you're right."

"I've been in a mood all day when I woke to find you gone, sad and angry that I let you leave without getting a chance to at least get another kiss."

"Maybe you'd like that kiss now?" Hermione asked, looking across the table at Lavender.

"I would and if it leads us both back to the bedroom, well, then maybe it was meant to be?" Lavender asked, as she fell into a deep kiss with Hermione.

"I agree," Hermione purred, wrapping her arms around Lavender. "Here we go again," she added, pulling Lavender from her chair and leading her back to the room she had found herself waking up in that morning. This time, she wasn't going to leave before Lavender woke, this time they would wake up together and maybe get breakfast? There had been a cute looking brunch place Hermione had passed on her way back here. It might be interesting to try seeing where this would go.
