Author's Note:

Here's the other Percabeth kids plot that was tied with the Montauk one. I would have saved it...but I figure I would give it to you all as a birthday present! Party elephants! (haha! Inside joke) It's my birthday, so I'm giving everyone else a gift. I think that's how it works.

Wait.

It just so happened to work out that the other scenario that was tied was about one of them having a birthday. So that's fun. (also, it's not my actual birthday today, but it was a few days ago. Because duh, i'm not telling y'all my actual birthday)

Cheers!

Happy Birthday to me! And also to me!

"I've got it, Asher!"

"Just don't drop it!"

"Wow, I never would have guessed. Don't drop it, why didn't I think of that?"

Asher rolled his eyes. "Okay, okay, fine. But if it ends up in the slush, you have to deal with neat-freak Hugo."

"So we wash it off, big deal."

The two eldest Jackson-Chase siblings trudged through the slushy streets of mid-January Manhattan. There had been a week of uncharacteristically warm weather, melting the snow only for it to refreeze at night. Asher and Marianne were finally able to go out and pick up the last things needed for the twins' birthday now that it was the weekend while their parents tag teamed getting everything ready and keeping Louisa and Hugo from getting into any trouble. Well. Any more trouble.

"I hate this kind of weather." Asher muttered. "All you end up with is soaked shoes and socks. At least I do."

Marianne shrugged, and concentrated on pushing the dirty and half-frozen snow out of her brother's path.

"Take it easy. Don't pass out on my account."

"I'm not going to pass out. This is barely any effort."

"Yeah huh. I can deal with it, Marianne. You can just dry out my shoes when we get home or something."

The younger one nodded, but continued to nudge the water hazard out of the way.

Asher rolled his eyes. There was no use trying any further, at least not with Marianne.

They were about to cross the street when they saw them. Asher pointed them out to his little sister with a sigh.

"Do we have too?" Marianne whined

"Probably. We don't want them crashing the party later."

"What about the stuff?" she asked, holding up her bag of party supplies.

"Just don't break them. I'm sure it will be fine."

"Says the one who was nagging me about just dropping them. Fine. Which one do you want?"

Asher studied the two cyclops lumbering around. "Big nose. You can take five-head."

Marianne shrugged, moving both bags to hang from her left arm. Unconsciously, she stated fingering the steel beads on her bracelet. "Let's make this quick. I hate when mortals get involved. Have you gotten any good at that Mist trick?"

"Hardly. But we can try it." he snapped his fingers. There was a subtle wind that swept through. "Let's take them by surprise." He slipped off his ring and it transformed into a sword in his hand, charging towards the monster.

Marianne ripped one of her beads off her bracelet, and hurled it towards the other. As it left her hand, it shifted into its true form - a celestial bronze throwing star that embedded itself in the cyclops. Another bead, another projectile. Soon the monster, who hadn't even been able to turn around, was just a pile of dust and throwing stars.

Meanwhile, Asher had well and truly taken care of the other monster. Tapping the sword twice, it shrank back into a ring with pale blue, pink, and white stripes that he slipped back onto his finger. Marianne crouched next to the pile of monster dust and throwing stars, gathering up her weapons. The moment they made contact with her, they shrank back into beads that magically attached back onto the bracelet string.

As she stood up, Marianne stumbled. Her brother caught her.

"See? You got yourself all tired with your hydrokinesis and now this happened."

"This is totally unrelated."

Asher just rolled his eyes, and the two crossed the road to their apartment building, Marianne still stubbornly keeping the water out of her brother's shoes.

By the time they were back at the apartment, Marianne was leaning on Asher.

"We're hooo-ooome!" Asher called into the bustling apartment.

"What the Hades happened to you?" Percy asked, who happened to be hurrying from the kitchen to the main living space and saw his son supporting daughter so that she didn't fall over.

"Language!" came Annabeth's distant call

"Sorry!" he yelled back. Quieter, he asked, "So what the fuck happened to you?"

"This little shit was being too nice and kept trying to keep my feet dry from all the slush and then we ran into two cyclopses - which we dominated by the way - and of course she's already siphoning her energy, so now she's exhausted. Where's mom so we can sneakily grab some ambrosia without getting in trouble?"

"Wrapping presents in our room. Bring her the bows, and keep her distracted long enough. I'll get the ambrosia."

Asher nodded, and carried the bags to the back of the apartment. Marianne stumbled after her father to the kitchen who broke off part of a square of ambrosia for her. She had just scarfed it down when Louisa and Hugo ran into the kitchen.

"Are they here yet?"

"No running in the house."

"Sorry. Are they here yet?" Lousia repeated

"Not yet. Give it fifteen minutes at the least. But Asher and Marianne are back with the balloons, why don't you go get them from your mom?"

"Dad, she's wrapping presents." Marianne put in before the twins could disappear down the hall with permission to sneak a glance at their gifts.

"Oh, for gods sake." he muttered. "Louisa, Hugo, don't go into my room, I'll go get them for you!"

A few moments later, he returned with the bag with balloons and streamers and his two youngest children in tow. "You guys can decorate, Marianne would you, ah, supervise?"

She nodded, the god food having restored her energy. The three youngest Jackson-Chase siblings were just putting the finishing touches up when they got the first call from the first floor to buzz in a guest, followed by a knock at the door.

Louisa answered, and threw her arms around them.

"Uncle Leo! Aunt Calypso!"

"If it isn't the birthday girl!" Leo said, shifting the presents to one arm to give her a hug. "Little Louisa, getting older. And Hugo, c'mere!" He said, hugging him as well as the brother made his way to the door in a less excitable manner than his sister.

Calypso smiled brightly at the twins, scooping them both into a hug. In as much time as it had taken her to say hello, Louisa had slipped away from the door, the Valdez's daughter Mavis in tow so they could catch up.

In a few minutes, Sally, Paul, and Estelle arrived, and finally, Nico and Will, with Katarina. All of their demigod friends were welcome to come, of course, but only the ones who were already in New York were really expected to be there. It was a bit of a trip from California.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear HugoandLouisa!" everyone sang, trying to fit both names into a space that was really only big enough for two syllables, "Happy birthday to you!"

The candles were blown out, and the cupcakes distributed. It had become the most graceful solution to make cupcakes, because they could never agree on a flavor of cake or a color of icing, and it seemed unfair to everyone to make them share everything.

"Let's hope this doesn't end like the great cake smashing of their sixth birthday." Asher muttered to Estelle. Despite technically being her aunt, Estelle was only three years older than her nephew.

Meanwhile, Marianne and Asa Valdez were giggling over something as they ate their cake. Sally and Calypso were cooing over Katarina. Will was beaming, while Nico smirked, even if he was usually the one doting over her. And Lousia, Mavis, and Hugo were as thick as thieves discussing what the twins had been talking about for the past week. Turning ten, afterall, was a rather big deal to the Jackson-Chase siblings for one reason. Weaponry. On his tenth birthday, Asher had received his ring/sword in a blue box with grey wrapping. It had magically gained trans-flag stripes later on. On her tenth birthday, Marianne had gotten her throwing star bracelet in the same sort of package.

And true to form, when it was finally time to open presents, two new boxes had magically appeared from some very obvious Olympians, one marked for Louisa, and the other for Hugo.

Louisa lay wide awake in bed. She was still too excited from the day's events to sleep. "This was the best birthday ever." she breathed to herself. Her fingers went to her throat where her present from her godly grandparents was tied. The silver charm of a trident felt reassuring in her fingers, even if she'd only worn the pendant for a few hours. She couldn't anticipate ever taking it off.

Hugo had gotten a sword similar to their dad's, in that it was also a pen. But the pen cap was also magical, because it could become a shield. Which was pretty cool, she had to admit. But the trident. According to all the demigods she'd met, fighting with a trident required a tricky fighter. And Athena and Poseidon had given one to her!

She sat up in bed quietly, trying not to wake up her twin brother. Giddy just to see it again, she pulled the trident off chain. Despite how new it was, it felt familiar in her hand.

"Happy birthday to me."

"And also to me." Hugo responded from across the room.

Author's Note:

I know, I said this one would come out before, but it didn't. Technically I do have an excuse, and that excuse it finals, but also, I did have time to write this. I'll just post another tomorrow probably? Dunno. Anyway, onto the shout-outs!

Thank you to AyaTheDoggo for following, as well as Bdarwin85, Beardedragonlover, and SunWuKong20 (journey to the west references. nice) for following and favoriting, because they're just cool people like that!

Onto the reviews!

kalisfandomstories1004 - right? Whenever I try and get my friends together to play, someone's busy though!

WolfOfSilverGoddessArtemis - Percy/Estelle family shot w/ godly interference. Duly noted and on the list!

Guest - Whoop!

Milkshake and Cookies - they aren't for everyone. But I hope you'll forgive another next gen one-shot in a row. I totally feel that though. I have siblings, and the Jackson-Chase dynamic is inspired *cough completely copied cough* from my own experience. Because once in a blue moon, we keep an eye on each other and take care of each other. And the rest of the time...eh, it's not exactly peaceful lol.

Yeah, i kinda like the idea that Percy would raise his kids to understand that the gods are stupid, but we have to appease.

Bdarwin85 - yeah, Bob and Damasen are on the list!

PYBooks543 - well then I guess I will get on finishing that….soonish? I don't know when I'll have free time man, but it's definitely on the list. Also, thanks for the crab part, I think it's interesting that even Percy can learn from people - he's not a superhero. Unless it's a superhero AU. Then he sometimes is

Ummmm…..actually probably not. Athena falls under maiden goddess status, and rule number three is no one who has sworn off romance. Sorry, I'm sure there are lots of great authors who would write it, just not me.

AyaTheDoggo - shhhhhh…..shhhhh….realizing that you have a problem is the first step to healing. Or just tanking your sleep schedule more, I don't judge. Well, I guess I did judge you as having a worse sleep schedule than my own…..I don't know what's going on anymore, GO TO SLEEP! SLEEP!

And….I think that's all? There may be one more one-shot posted in January, otherwise it's going up early February.

Have a lovely day!
