(Chapter 40)
(Day Three of Internship)
Izuku walked behind All Might, though her legs felt like jello from the night before. 'I need to put a leash on Toshi and Kuro.' If they had it their way, she'd be in bed all day snuggled into their chests while they had their wicked way with her… though the idea sounded tempting.
All Might smiled as he approached a railing looking over the city. "Now, Midoriya, tell me, what have we learned today?" They've been on patrol for about four hours. They've encountered four robberies, two hostage situations, and eight quirk violations.
"I don't even know where to begin; this is so different from dealing with a dark wizard."
Giving a heartfelt laugh, he gave her a pat on the head, "Fear not, Young Midoriya, you have much to learn before your exam. You are doing a splendid job."
Izuku felt giddy upon getting his recognition. That childhood fan-girl had been breaking free these past few days, "Really?" She wanted to be just like him.
He nodded. All Might looked around and saw a few children playing jump rope. "Now, Midoriya, why don't I show you how to handle children." They were usually big fans, and he wanted to show her what to do if they start clinging to you.
As they approached the children, Izuku felt the smile on her face drop as she listened to the rhyme they were singing.
The girl jumping had blond hair and was smiling as she sang the lyrics,
"My momma, your momma, gonna catch a witch,
My momma, your momma, flying on a switch,
My momma, your momma, witches never cry,
My momma, your momma, witches gonna die!"
All Might stopped walking as he listened to the rhyme. 'What did she say?' He glanced at Izuku, who was clearly uncomfortable.
"Witch number one, drown in a river!
Witch number two, got a noose to give her!
Witch number three, gonna watch her burn,
Witch number four, flogging take a turn."
Neither All Might or Izuku were able to speak as they stared at the children. Izuku was pulling Toshinori's arm, "Can we go?" While she loved children, hearing them sing about burning witches made her extremely uncomfortable.
Toshinori was looking between the children and Izuku. He was coming to terms with what the child just sang. 'Witch number three, gonna watch her burn? Where did they learn something like that?' He turned to Izuku and nodded, "I feel that would be best, Young Midoriya." He couldn't imagine what she was feeling. To hear children sing about burning your race would disturb anyone. Neither Iuzku or All Might spoke as they took a seat on a bench. When All Might sat down, he made sure not to put the entirety of his weight on the bench.
"That was… something," Izuku said while staring across the street.
Toshinori was at a loss for words. What should he say to her? "Now, I'm sure we must have misheard, Young Midoriya."
She shook her head, "No. I know the song."
All Might attempted to find out more for the next few minutes, but Izuku was closing herself off to him. In fact, her motivation from earlier was snuffed out. "Midoriya, your nose." He leaned down and used part of his cape to wipe the blood leaking from her nose. 'I'll wash it later.'
Izuku jumped and pulled away, "I~i've got it! Thank you, Toshi-kun." She used her arm to cover her nose. 'Please, not now.'
All Might looked concerned and glanced at his cape… wait… blood wasn't black. "Midoriya, let me see." Did she hit her nose or… no, it just started bleeding. Turning her face, his eyes widened. "Midoriya, you look terrible!" Wait that came out wrong! She looked pale, her nose was bleeding, and what was wrong with her eyes?
"I have to go. I've got uh~spattergroit. Wizard sickness, very contagious. I'll be back." She quickly stood up and disappeared into a ball of light.
Before she disappeared, he'd grabbed her hand, but she quickly pulled it out of his, "Midoriya!" He was about to grab her again, but she disapparated too fast. Toshinori stood there with a confused look. 'Spattergroit? Why didn't she mention before that she was sick?' The worst part was he didn't know what spattergroit was. Toshinori peered into his palm when he felt a strange vibration. Opening his hand, he saw the silver ring Izuku always wore. It must have slipped off when he grabbed her hand.
(Elsewhere)
Crashing into the wall, Izuku coughed into her hand as a black mist escaped her body. The skin on her cheek turned black as flakes broke off. "I… I don't feel good." Opening the nearest trash can, she emptied the contents of her stomach. Without her ring, anyone would be able to see the black mist shooting off her body.
"Well, lookie what we have here, boys." There were a few men at the end of the alley. "What's wrong, pretty lady, had too much to drink?" The alley was naturally dark, so they didn't regard the darkness swirling around her.
Izuku looked to her left, "P~please leave." She was on the brink of transforming. The obscurus was exploding inside of her.
"Aw, c'mon, sweetheart. Why don't me and my boys take good care of ya." He had a sadistic smile on his face as he zeroed in on her body. 'Damn, this bitch is hot!'
"I said leave!" She looked at them as black tears fell down her face.
The men were so lost in lustful fantasies they didn't hear here. A few of them lunged at her and were keeping her restrained. "Fuck, she's hot!"
One guy with a shark fin laughed, "I get her next!" Izuku was thrashing against them.
"I said… let me go!" They laughed as she struggled but stopped when they saw her twitching.
"Aw, fuck… is she having a seizure?"
"Who cares. She's still a good fuck." He was about to grab his zipper, "What the hell?"
Her words echoed into a strange language, and part of her started to disappear. What were all those black flakes coming off her? All was silent before the men screamed in terror as she exploded. There was a distorted roar as they were each lifted by an invisible force. They thrashed against the ground and walls of the alley, their screams gaining the attention of people outside the alley. The thrashing stopped, and all of the men were thrown to the ground, their bodies lifeless, and black markings scaring them.
The obscurus gave a terrible roar before shooting out of the alley, turning invisible in the process. People on the main street scream in terror as cars were picked up and smashed into buildings, windows were shattered, one man was impaled by an invisible spike.
(A few miles away)
Aizawa scratched his face, "Why did I agree to this?" He was walking behind Nemuri and Mic as they pushed him into the store.
Nemuri huffed, "Because we're shopping for things we'll need when we go to Hogwarts. And you need to get out of your sleeping bag and see the world."
Mic was laughing, "All right! You've got a response to that wicked burn, Erasure?"
He rolled his eyes, 'I knew I shouldn't have gotten out of bed.' The only reason he was full of energy was due to the potion Izuku gave him last week. Reaching into his pocket, he grabbed the vial and drank the rest of it. Immediately, his eyes widened, and he was invigorated with an unparalleled force of motivation. Izuku showed him how she makes potions and gave him the elixir as a sample… he was going to keep a closer eye on her.
Nemuri stopped and looked into the window of the hygiene store, "That whore!" Mic and Aizawa stopped and groaned, "Lady Hair Shampoo and Conditioner!? My hair products are better than this garbage!" On display was Mount Lady's cosmetics. Nemuri's nails clawed at the glass, "That wanna be hero~slut."
Aizawa and Mic looked at each other. Mic elbowed his friend, "Should we run?"
"No, she'll be worse if she doesn't have someone to complain to." They watched her drone on about Mount Lady. Nemuri clawed at the glass; she had a murderous look on her face.
The heroes' shopping session was cut short when they heard people screaming. Looking down the street, they watched as a hoard of people ran. Above them, the glass from buildings was being destroyed, and a strange roar was able to be heard from miles away. In a matter of seconds, the heroes were running towards the destruction, trying to save as many people as they could. Aizawa used his emergency scarf, which he kept in his back pocket and wrapped it around people who were thrown out of buildings.
Mic lifted a woman over his shoulders and saw a car fly towards him, "Yeaaaa!" He yelled. The soundwave was strong enough to throw the car in the other direction.
Aizawa pulled a few more people to safety and looked around, trying to identify the threat. Seemingly out of thin air, everyone watched as a massive entity appeared. It was a swirling void of oil and cloth. "What the hell is that?" Activating his quirk, Aizawa was surprised when his quirk didn't work against it. 'Crap, is that not his body?'
The obscurus spun faster as a random hero jumped down from the building. Electricity shot out of his hands, "Stop, Villain!" His quirk did nothing. Before he reached the ground, an invisible power picked him up. He screamed in agony before he was cast to the ground… his body was lifeless, and like many others, his face had black and white markings on it. Almost as if a mold had grown into his veins.
Abruptly the obscurus took off into the sky and disappeared. However, the damage was done. Hundreds of people were injured, and those unfortunate enough to be caught in the obscurus path died. The street looked like a war zone with heroes and civilians writhing in pain.
(Back at the Bench)
Toshinori clutched his head and fell to the ground, his body convulsing as an unimaginable pain took over. A missing stomach and lung were nothing compared to this pain. Clenching his teeth, he tried to stand, but he laid there on the ground withering in pain. Nobody was around to see the Symbol of Peace as foam escaped his mouth.
(Kurogiri's Bar)
All for One was in the middle of talking to Kurogiri when suddenly he fell to his knees, clutching his head. It felt like an invisible force was tearing his body apart.
Kurogiri immediately tried to help his master up, "Sensei, are you alright?" He had never seen All for One act like this. All for One was snarling like a savage beast because of the pain. Sparks were jumping off him, destroying the walls of the bar. Kurogiri was forced to take cover behind the counter. There was nothing he could do to help All for One as he destroyed the bar.
(One Hour Later)
Izuku slowly opened her eyes and coughed, "W~where… where am I?" Sitting up, she looked at her surroundings. Her bones ached, and her veins pulsed with magic, "My~head." Standing up, she examined her body. Nothing seemed amiss. "Wait, I know this park." Parting a few bushes, she saw the bench she sat on the other day with Sekijiro. Of all places, why did she end up here?
Clutching her head, she attempted to recollect her memories. "I was with Toshi, and then, what happened?" Did anyone see her transform? No matter her attempts to remember, her mind felt like a spike had been shoved into her head. "Owi." Izuku gave a little moan in pain. Patting her sides, she tried reaching for her phone. "Where is my… oh… it was probably destroyed during my transformation." Cupping her stomach, Izuku groaned, "My stomach feels like it's full of stones. I need to get home." She also needed to call All Might. He was probably worried about her and slightly angry. She did just leave on a moment's notice. 'My house is too far, and I don't have any money with me for the bullet train.' Apparating was out of the question; her magic was teetering at dangerous levels.
Walking in an aimless direction, Izuku tried to recall what happened. 'I remember there was screaming... and buildings.' Her memories were fragmented like shattered glass. Looking off into the distance, she saw an apartment building, 'Wait, doesn't Vlad-sama live there?' Maybe he could help. She needed to calm down. And she still needed to make him that portkey she promised.
Reaching into her pocket, Izuku pulled out the sickles that had somehow survived. 'Hmmm… I think there is a wizard market nearby.' She didn't have enough for the Knight bus, but she could pick up something on her way over. She hated dropping in unannounced.
(Sekijiro's Apartment)
"Vladimir, lunch." Setting the bowl of food down, Vlad smiled as his dog scampered over. He decided to give him some chopped ham with chicken. Sekijiro chuckled as his dog hammered his bowl, "Slow down, buddy, don't need you choking again." He already had to get him a special food bowl, so he didn't eat too fast.
Cracking his neck, Sekijiro rubbed the sore spot on his shoulder. He just got done lifting some weights and pulled a muscle. "Gotta stop pushing myself like that." Before that, he had a massive headache, and his body felt weak. Whenever he felt weak, he immediately went to work out. Lifting his arm, he sniffed his armpit and gagged. He needed to take a shower. He smelt awful. Just as he was about to take off his tank top, someone knocked on his door. 'Probably another solicitor.' Occasionally, there was a crazed fan, but that was rare.
Opening the door, he choked on his spit, "M~midoriya?" What the hell was she doing here?!
"Good afternoon, Vlad~sama. I'm here to make you that portkey I promised." Her hands were behind her back.
Vlad gulped and glanced back at his apartment, "Uh… can you give me a minute."
"Oh, sure." The door slammed on her face. 'I probably surprised him.' There was a crashing sound coming from inside, 'What was that?' The little greenet just stood there, waiting patiently.
As soon as Vlad closed the door, he glanced back at his apartment. 'I shouldn't have invited Snipe and Hound over, damn it.' Since they all had the week off, at least he did, they decided to get drunk and play poker. He wasn't good at the game; he just wanted an excuse to get drunk with some friends. Scurrying across the room, he quickly cleaned up the undiscarded beer bottles. Vlad clenched his teeth as he cleaned. He refused to look like a pig in front of a beautiful woman like Izuku. He wasn't ordinarily messy; this was just poor timing.
Throwing a few more bottles away, he lifted his arm again and sniffed, 'Damn, I still smell.' Running to the bathroom, he quickly put on some deodorant to hopefully dampen the musk. Rushing back to the door, he opened it for Izuku, "Sorry, c'mon in."
"Thank you." Izuku walked into the apartment and giggled at Vlad's expression. 'Does he always scratch his tooth when he's nervous?'
The hero blushed, "What? Somethin' wrong?" His apartment didn't look that messy, did it?
"It's nothing. I was~oh hello there, little buddy." Vladimir had scampered out of the kitchen when he heard and smelt Izuku. Izuku still had one hand behind her back; what was she holding? "Who's a good little doggie? Yes, you are!" She smiled as Vlad's dog rolled on to his back and demanded a belly rub.
Vlad had a blank expression, but inside he felt a tingle of jealousy. He quickly shook that feeling away. He was not jealous of his dog.
Izuku smiled even brighter as Vladimir started kicking his hind leg when she scratched a soft spot, "You like that? Guess what, little guy. I got you a special treat." She presented a large bone from behind her back. Vladimir quickly rolled over and barked. The bulldog promptly sat down and attempted to calm his nerves. He wanted that juice looking bone. "What a well behaved boy you are. Alright, here you go." The second the bone was within biting distance, Vladimir scurred off to the couch and started chewing on his new treat.
Sekijiro raised a brow, "You got him a bone?" Not even his ex-girlfriend Akito did that.
"I was passing by, and there was a wizard shopping center nearby. I thought I'd give him a bone for being such an adorable little trooper."
Glancing at the bone, he raised a brow, "I usually don't give him bones; they're bad for his stomach."
"No worries, he's chewing on an enchanted dragon bone. He'll never be able to finish it, and it always stays fresh. You'd be surprised what magical toys and treats exist for dogs."
Walking over to his dog, Vlad barely touched the bone before Vladimir growled at him. The hero laughed, "Alright, I won't touch it." He looked at Izuku, "Anything else I should know about this?"
"Besides the finer details, the bone is safe for dogs."
"Finer details?"
"The bone has several uses." Izuku walked over and ran her hand over Vladimir's back. "It absorbs any drool he'll make and tastes like bacon. It'll also keep his teeth clean." Vladimir was gnawing on the end of the delicious bone.
"You got a problem with his drool?" Thanks to Akito, this was now a touchy area for him. His dog would always come first.
Izuku shook her head, "No, not at all. Yes, drool is a little gross, but that's what bulldogs do. Isn't that right, little guy." She rubbed the dog's side. "I love dogs so much, I wish I had one growing up." Dragons and Owls were too much to take care of than a dog. And a phoenix belongs in the wild, despite being such a majestic creature.
"Why don't ya just get yourself a dog now. You're alone, ain't ya?"
"I've thought about it. But… I just never had the time to go out and look for one." She refused to take care of any animal ever since she learned about her obscurus. What if she transformed and killed her pet? In the back of her mind, she was still trying to remember what happened after she transformed.
"Mhm." Vlad nodded his head to the side, "Here's the metal beam." It was in the corner of his room and stood out like an eyesore. Besides that, the apartment looked rather cozy.
Izuku was actually surprised that everything wasn't red. 'Of course, everything isn't red. He's not a vampire.' Looking at the beam, she frowned, "Wait… does this beam run through all the apartments?"
He nodded, "Mhm. The architect wasn't the brightest, I guess. Something wrong?"
"Uh~" She looked between him and the support beam, "I sort of assumed that maybe the beam was sticking out of the wall." Izuku gave a nervous laugh, "I guess you were literal when you said it was in the middle of the room. Mhmm~sorry," She cleared her throat and stopped laughing, "If I bewitched this support beam, the entire beam would be enchanted."
Vlad zoned out for a brief moment when she was laughing. She looked pretty cute when she was nervous. Though cute seemed like the wrong word. "I'm guessing you can't section the spell off or something like that."
"Yes, exactly." His chest swelled a little from her recognition, "Do you have anything else I could enchant? I don't think your neighbors would like it if they landed near UA when they touch the beam."
Vlad smirked at the idea. His neighbors upstairs were loud sometimes. "Would a lamp work?"
"Yep! It can be anything, really. But a lamp will do fine." Leading her to another room, she saw a desk with a lot of papers on it.
Sekijiro looked away from Izuku, "Sorry 'bout the mess. Wasn't expecting to have anyone in here."
"Mess?" The room was relatively clean besides the papers on the desk. "You're fine, Vlad-sama."
A cruel smirk appeared on the hero's face as he cupped his chin, "Didn't know you felt that way 'bout me, Midoriya." He flexed his chest, making his muscles bulge a bit.
"W~wait! Th~that came out wrong, I didn't mean. W~well, you are handsome, wait! I~uh~" Izuku covered her face and shook her head as she slowly died from embarrassment.
Sekijiro gave a hearty laugh at her reaction. 'Damn, I never knew teasing could be fun.' Whenever he tried to tease Akito, she'd get irritated. Not wanting this to end, he continued his teasing, "What? I ain't handsome now? You seem pretty flustered about something." He gave a toothy grin.
Izuku peaked through her fingers and looked over Sekijiro. The man was undoubtedly handsome, what with his deep red eyes and strong jawline. She also loved how his lower teeth stuck out; it reminded her of a vampire. "Nonono~wait! I mean, you are handsome, this is all comingoutwronganialjie~"
Sekijiro couldn't make sense of her words as she attempted saying everything at once. He couldn't help but appreciate seeing Izuku flustered. "I'm just pullin' yer strings. I didn't mean to make you this embarrassed." Though he'd definitely try again later. There was something about seeing her go red-faced that made a small fire burn in his stomach. This was a better reaction than what he wanted to get with Akito.
Pulling her wand out, Izuku pointed at the lamp. She waved her wand in the air, "Portus." The lamp trembled with an odd blue glow; it quivered with a strange squeak before coming to rest. "I~it should be good now." She slowly turned around and attempted to avoid eye contact with Vlad. She was still mortified with embarrassment. "You can still use the lamp. If you want to use the portkey, just hold onto it and count to three." She looked up.
Smirking, Sekijiro leaned over to look at the lamp, "I was sort of expecting more of an effect. I thought magic was all sparkles and smoke."
Izuku waved her wand in the air, "Like this?" Gold and blue sparkles of dust came out of her wand and landed softly on the floor.
Sekijiro chuckled, "Ya, that." Looking around the room, he rubbed the back of his neck. "Care for somethin' to drink… I know I can." This witch was making his body hot with her innocent look.
Izuku looked uncertain, "Uh~sure. What do you have?" She didn't want to make things awkward by denying his offer.
Leading her into the kitchen, he opened a cabinet and pulled out a large glass. "Liquor, fine?" He needs something strong to snuff the fire building in his body.
'Liquor!? The alcohol level for that is more than I can take!' If she had it, who knows what would happen to her. Just a single glass of wine could make her a heated mess. "S~sure. If you want, I know a spell that can turn vinegar into wine. Or water into rum."
Taking two glasses and filling them with ice, he smirked, "Now that I gotta see." Was she trying to win his heart? What man wouldn't want a woman who could make alcoholic beverages? "I don't drink wine, but rum ain't bad." He took a swig of the hard liquor; it burned his throat in the process.
Izuku looked at the drink in her hand, 'I've never had liquor before. I wonder what it tastes like.' Bringing the glass to her lips, she drank half the glass and almost choked.
Vlad chuckled as he watched her drink, "It's strong, not really a ladies drink, but I think you can take it."
Midoriya's body locked up as the alcoholic beverage reached her stomach. "I've never had hard liquor before. I'm more of a wine lover."
"While I've got ya here. Why don't ya tell me 'bout Hogwarts or something else about magic." Vlad poured another glass and downed it like the last. Why wasn't that lustful heat going away?
For the next hour, the two talked about their pasts. Izuku only had one more glass but stopped when she felt her body catch fire. Her blushing was slowly growing out of control as she heard Sekijiro talk. She loved how deep and gruff his voice was. "S~so you never went to UA?"
Sekijiro shook his head, "No, I went to a normal high school. I didn't have control over my quirk till my senior year." He always passed out from blood loss. Now his body was used to it.
"Can I ask you something else?" She gave a hiccup as her face caught fire. "Where did you get this scar from." She reached up and touched the X-shaped scar on his cheek.
Vlad shivered silently when she touched his scar. It was very tender, and she was very gentle touching it. "I got it from some villain a few years ago. I can't remember his name. He looks like a wolf or something." He then pointed to his neck, "He also gave me this too. The moron thought cutting my artery would kill me." It proved to be the villain's downfall when he used the blood shooting out of his neck to subdue the villain.
Izuku broke out into a slight giggle, "Ghihi~your superstrong Vlad~sama!" He had to be if he was still standing after bleeding from his neck. Just as Izuku was about to ask another question, Vladimir had sat down next to her and started whining. "Aw~why are you winning, little guy?" She kneeled down and started scratching the bulldog's ear.
Vlad looked away, 'Why isn't this feeling going away yet?' He refuses to take another drink. What if he does something he'll regret? Seeing Izuku adore his dog just made his heart burn. For the last hour, he'd had a better conversation with Izuku than he'd had with Akito. A banging sound came from the front door. "I'll be right back."
Izuku quickly looked back with a hazy smile. Did she know where she was? "Alright! Vladimir's coat is so soft and fluffy!"
He let loose a heated huff and went to the door. "What is~" He opened the door and froze. "Akito, What do you want?" Speak of the devil.
Akito had short red hair, she was about Izuku's height and had a decent complexion. "Hey, Vlad. Can we talk?" She gave an innocent smile.
Sekijiro frowned, "Go to hell." With all the hell she caused after dumping him, he'd sooner bleed to death than listen to her.
Before he could slam the door on her face, she held her hand on the door, "Can we please talk, Vladsi?" She attempted to use a cute voice on him. It worked when they were dating.
"No." Came his harsh response. He was almost tempted to slam the door on her hand.
"Look, we both made mistakes. And… and" She leaned close and sniffed him, "Ugh~have you bathed today?" Vlad growled at her. In the background, they heard Vladimir bark. "Don't tell me you still have that drooling mutt. Are you still going to choose that beast over me?" She never understood how he could choose some stupid dog over her.
"Yes, now go away." His fist clenched the doorknob.
Akito leaned over to peek inside, "Who the hell are you!" Why was there another woman in Vlad's apartment?!
Sekijiro was unprepared when Aktio pushed past him and marched over towards Izuku and Vladimir. But he was quickly on her tail, "Akito, get out!" He growled out.
Akito spun around and immediately started harassing him, just like when they were dating. "You've already moved on! I'm the best thing you ever had, and you decided to let this girl into your apartment?"
Izuku was confused as she watched the woman hassle Sekijiro. Vladimir plopped down onto the ground with almost sad eyes. He didn't like this woman. She was always yelling at him, and she threw away his favorite tennis ball. 'What is going on?'
"We aren't dating. Now get out!" Sekijiro pointed to the door.
Akito jumped to a false conclusion, like usual, "Oh, so you just happen to have another woman in your apartment, right after we broke up?"
"We broke up six months ago. And you were the one who cut it off, not me." Vlad stated. Izuku remained quiet as the two argued over her presence. She just continued to pet Vladimir. The poor thing was shaking. This was extremely awkward.
Akito turned to Izuku, "Get out. He's mine, alright? Take that damn mutt and~" She was never one to shy away about saying what she disliked.
Not bothering to deal with her anymore, Vlad gripped her arm and pulled her to the door. "I'm not yours. And I better not see you here again." Pushing her outside, he slammed the door on her face and locked it. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he groaned. "Why of all days?" Heading back into the living room, he saw Izuku kneeling next to Vladimir. She looked nervous.
"S~should I go?"
'Damn it.' He almost hit his head, "No, I'm sorry you got caught in that. Just my crazy ex."
"Oh." Izuku didn't know what to say. "Why did she call Vladimir a mutt?" When she heard it, Izuku wanted to hit the woman on the back of the head. This bulldog was not a mutt.
"She doesn't like my dog. We got into an argument over him." He ground his teeth together. He probably looked like he didn't have his life together.
Izuku immediately turned to the bulldog laying flat on the ground and started scratching his back, "You're not a mutt. You're a handsome little bulldog, aren't you?" She now seemed unfazed by what transpired. "I'm sorry to hear about your break-up."
Vlad took a seat on his couch, "Don't be. She's a toxic bitch, and I was too ignorant to realize it." It took him three years to realize how horrible their relationship was. She always pointed out his flaws and how he could never do anything right. Stand up straight, stop eating meat: it's bad for you, quit being a clutz, you're always being selfish and never have time for me, and the list went on. Though he couldn't complain, he was given warnings by those closest to him. Even his own parents, who he now had loose contact with, loathed Akito.
'She reminds me of Yamiyo.' Izuku thought as she grabbed the bone she bought for Vladimir. Bringing it in front of him, she played tug-a-war and kept letting the bone slip from her hands. Vladimir looked ecstatic every time he won.
Sekijiro smiled softly at the sight… Why couldn't he have a girl like her? "You really love dogs, don't you?"
"I sure do!" She pulled the bone, "I might just be tempted to snatch your little guy. Oh, he's so much fun! How could your ex not love him?!" Izuku let go of the bone and sat down on the couch. "I hope I didn't cause you any trouble." She gave a hiccup, 'Merlin, why did I drink that liquor?' Vladimir jumped up with his bone and snuggled into the space between Vlad and Izuku.
Gazing at her, Sekijiro felt his heart skip a beat. The trace amount of light that remained in the day shined into the room and brought out Izuku's complexion. Her skin looked soft and smooth. Her green hair reached her shoulders and those soft curls… he wanted to run his fingers across them. By now, he would've expected Izuku to demand answers or dig into his past. "Uh~so, where were we?" Why did his chest feel so heavy? He scratched his tooth and started losing his breath, 'What the hell is happening to me?' Deep in his mind, he tried to deny what he was feeling, 'No, she's Aizawa's student. Not to mention our ages.' Then again, she was only younger by ten years. She was almost 21.
Izuku continued their conversation from before and went back to showing him a little bit of magic. Her wand made different colors and sparkling effects as she waved it. The vacuum turned on and started cleaning the floor, and the few dishes in the kitchen washed themselves. Wanting to liven things up, she cast the Melofors Jinx on herself. Vlad was shocked to see her head transform into a pumpkin… thankfully, she knew the counter-jinx. "This was a lot of fun. I hope we can do this again, Sekijio-san!" She said while straightening her hair. 'Transforming my head into a pumpkin is so surreal.'
Vlad blushed, 'How does she do that?' Hearing her say his name was so pleasant to his ears. It made his knees go weak and made his heart beat faster. "Ya… I'd like that too." It then dawned on him what was happening, wait… is she leaving? She couldn't go yet. They've just gotten comfortable talking to one another.
Izuku gave another hiccup. Her body was flushed with euphoria. 'Vlad~sama is so handsome and kind. I hope I wasn't a bother.' She cleared her throat, "I should really be going. I don't think you'll want to spend your entire day talking to me." This was Vlad's time away from students, and she didn't want to ruin it. Some men like having their privacy. In the back of Izuku's mind, she smiled as she remembered having her face buried into his chest at UA. 'Seki-san has so many muscles. I wish I could hug him.' Thank goodness she didn't have him for her homeroom teacher; she'd never get anything done. Just having a class with All Might and All for One was hard enough. Too many times, she has caught herself staring at them.
Sekijiro rubbed his neck, "Are you sure you're ready to go home?" He didn't want her to leave yet. Vladimir was sleeping, and his head was currently resting on her leg.
"I should be going. I think that liquor is starting to hit my head." She giggled. If a pink background with flowers could appear behind her head, it would.
Crossing his arms, Sekijiro had a stern look on his face, "You're drunk. C'mon, you can sleep here tonight." He wasn't going to risk having an innocent woman like Izuku walk home or even attempt to apparate while drunk. Her clothes were… wait… she was wearing her hero costume when she arrived, when did she change!?
Izuku shook her head, "N~no, I couldn't. I've already taken so much of your time today." The sun was starting to set, and she wouldn't be sober for another few hours. With how strong the alcohol was from the drink, the aphrodisiac effect would last until tomorrow.
Sekijiro briefly glanced at her, "Sorry, but yer not leavin' here drunk." He'd never forgive himself if she was sexually assaulted or attacked by some drunk fool or a villain. Leading her to the guest bedroom, he nodded to the bed, "You can take the guest bed." His apartment was a two-bedroom, two-bath. He got the apartment with the intention of convincing Akito to like the idea of living with him by letting her use the guest bedroom when she wanted. She didn't always like sleeping with him… apparently, he made the bed hot and uncomfortable at times. 'Three years wasted.' What did he ever see in her?
Izuku blushed. Clearly, she wasn't going to win this argument, "A~alright. Thank you, Sekijiro~san. You've very kind." Everything felt light and fluffy as she gave a massive smile. 'I feel so good… does he have any more liquor?' It was for these reasons, like this, she refused to drink strong alcoholic beverages.
Leaving Izuku, Sekijiro went into his bedroom. 'What the hell is wrong with me?' He could hear the shower in the adjacent room being turned on. Vlad's entire head turned red as he tried not to think about Midoriya using his shower. Falling to his bed, he closed his eyes and clenched his teeth. What was this strange feeling in his chest? He's never felt something so… mind-numbing before. Izuku had always been kind and brilliant, but he never expected her to be like this.
Vladimir had followed Sekijiro when he went into the room and plopped down onto his own bed by the wall. He was still chewing his new bone. Glancing over, Sekijiro watched his dog chew the bone. 'Talk about a perfect woman.' Vlad's tank top loosely hung against his body. His eyes became hazy as a burning sensation engulfed his body. His skin tingled as this heat filled him to the core. Ever since she donated her blood to him, he felt stronger than before, and his body was filled with a strong need.
Running his hand over his stomach, he groaned as this warmth ensnared his senses. Allowing himself to indulge ever so slightly, he pictured what was behind the wall. 'She's so small. Does she know how attractive she is?' The way she spoke so kindly about him and Vladimir made his knees weak. This was the attention he so desperately wanted from Akito, but instead, all she did was criticize him and all of his flaws. Izuku… she spoke so highly of him and held such a deep fascination for his quirk. Nobody had ever glorified him the way she does. Clenching his teeth, his massive hands gripped the bedsheets, 'D~damn it. What is wrong with me?' Why was he feeling like this? 'How does Aizawa get anything done with her sitting in his class?' If he had Izuku in his class, he'd probably lose track of his lesson plan. It was hard to not stare at such a beautiful woman.
Meanwhile, Izuku hugged herself as the hot water poured onto her body. Her mind was a numb mess from the alcohol. A part of her was still trying to remember what happened today, but this euphoric feeling told her not to worry. 'Vlad~sama is so kind to me. He deserves so much more than that woman from earlier.' And how could she not like Vladimir!? While at Hogwarts, during her Care of Magical Creatures lesson, she got to meet Fluffy. She adored that three-headed dog. He might seem vicious at first but was just a big softy.
Cleaning her hair, Izuku's cheeks turned pink as the pool of lust built up, 'Vlad~sama sure is strong.' The heat between her legs intensified, 'He's so big and all those muscles…wait, what am I thinking!?' Her heart was pounding. 'I never should have had that liquor.' She briefly remembered touching the scar on his face and shivered. 'His voice is so gruff and soothing.' Hearing him talk made her legs turn to jello. The only other people to turn her into such a mess was Toshinori and Kuro.
Back in the other room, Sekijiro stared at the ceiling with a frown. His body was practically on fire and oozing with lust. Tonight was going to be a long night.
(Across Tokyo)
Toshinori sat on his couch and attempted calling Izuku for the 100th time, "These fingers were not made for phones." His massive fingers kept hitting a few extra numbers. 'Pick up, Young Midoriya.' After his spasm attack on the ground earlier, he kept trying to contact her but went straight to voicemail. Why didn't she tell him before that she was sick?
"The person you are trying to reach is either unavailable or outside the calling area. Please try again later, goodbye." Tossing his phone onto the table, he gave up.
"I will try again tomorrow." Glazing towards his bedroom, he puffed. He was hoping to spend another night with Izuku, nothing sensual. He just enjoyed cuddling up next to her. That night he barely got any sleep; he was too worried about Izuku to sleep.
His sulking came to an end when an alarm on his desk started going off. Jumping up, he ran to the alarm, which was connected to the Hero Network. "Attack in the market district by an unknown quirk, medical assistance required." He quickly read the details before running out of his apartment and jumping off into the sky. "Fear not! I am here!"
(Kurogiri's Bar)
All for One tapped his fingers against the table. Kurogiri's bar was in shambles, thanks to him. The mist-man was currently in the back, getting some supplies. All for One stared into nothingness; what was that pain he felt earlier? He'd been stabbed, shot, burn, frozen, boiled, and every painful feeling you could imagine. But what happened a few hours ago… nothing could compare.
Leaning back in his seat, he reached into his coat pocket to pull out a silver vial. It was the blood oath he made with Toshinori. He decided to hold onto it since All Might has the habit of losing things. 'Could it have been this?' As far as he was aware, he had not broken any part of their oath. Putting it back into his pocket, he turned to Kurogiri, who'd just walked back in. "My apologies for destroying your bar. I will have someone come and make repairs tomorrow." Getting back into the underground portion of his life was tiresome.
Kurogiri nodded, "Should I contact Garaki?"
"No, our Doctor has much on his plate." Currently, the two of them were at odds end. Kyudai was angry that he wanted to stop the Nomu production. They haven't spoken since the attack on the USJ. Frankly, he didn't trust Kyudai. The man would dissect him if given a chance. "Where is Tomura?" The boy had been avoiding him, rightfully so. He was still furious about the boy's lack of judgment.
Kurogiri sweeped the glass shards into a dustpan, "A warehouse in Hosu. He has been acting… strange."
All for One glanced at his subordinate. His gaze would terrify anyone, "Do enlighten me."
Kurogiri recalled his encounter with Dabi and Himiko's and how they wanted to join them to preach Stain's ideology. "He has been assembling a Squad of Villains."
"Is that so." All for One's expression was hard to read. 'Stain, mhm?' He sympathized with the man to a degree. Heroes were arrogant and greedy, but the difference between the two was he had a realistic vision in mind. 'A perfect society is a fool's dream.' What then if hero society is destroyed? There will always be something worse to come. He remains as an intermediate force in the grand scheme of things.
Kurogiri cleared his throat, "How is Midoriya?" He hadn't seen her since she told him about being a witch, and he was still coming to terms with it.
"Why?" Kuro's voice deepened.
Sweat practically jumped off Kurogiri, "I~I was just concerned s~since I have been unable to visit her."
"She is well. We are to depart for Hogwarts after her class returns from the training camp." Sadly, he could not accompany her to the forest retreat. He would be helping the students in class 3-A. They were all terrified of him. 'They should learn to feel fear. It will dispel their arrogance.'
"Hogwarts?" Kurogiri asked, "How long will you be gone, Sensei?"
"A month at most. I expect all to be organized upon my return." His red eyes pierced Kurogiri's soul, "If Tomura should do anything… unexpected. Cut off his arms and legs." Who knew what he'd attempt while he and All Might were away. He almost killed Tomura after he murdered a few innocent men.
"I will see the boy is attend to." He gave a small bow, though, in his mind, he was smiling. He would give anything to chop off Tomura's arms and legs. Looking at his watch, Kurogiri sighed and placed the broom and dustpan down. "I must be leaving you, Sensei. I… am meeting with my brother." All for One nodded.
Opening a portal around himself, Kurogiri appeared in front of a dark train station. People were getting off like clock-work. Kurogiri quickly looked himself over and sighed.
A man with smoky blue hair appeared in front of him, "Hey, now why are you sighing!? Aren't you happy to see me?" He gave a massive smile and sat cross-legged on top of a cloud.
Kurogiri looked at his brother. They hadn't seen each other in a few years, "Oboro, I assume your trip went well."
"Hey, now!" Oboro threw his arm over Kurogiri's shoulder, "Why so formal? Where's my little brother who loved riding my clouds."
"He grew up." Was his dry response.
Fake tears fell down Oboro's face, "Oh no! My brother is boring! Don't worry, I'll put some life back into ya!"
Kurogiri sighed, "Must you always yell?" Was his brother always this excited?
"It's so great to be back! C'mon, let's go eat." A cloud appeared under the two, and they quickly floated off.
Crossing his legs and arms, Kurogiri huffed, "I could have opened a portal for us."
Oboro gave a giant smile as he looked back at his irritated brother, "No worries, little bro. Oh, I'm dying for sushi!" He had hard stars in his eyes. Just thinking about it made his stomach grumble. "I've missed this place." As they floated over the city, Oboro slowly looked back with a curious stare, "So, who is this Midoriya you mentioned on the phone? Does my brother have a crush?"
"Shut up! It is nothing like that." He didn't even mean to mention her name. "She is just a friend."
Their clouds came to a screeching halt, which was strange since there was nothing to cause them to screech against. "A… friend?" Oboro started cheering, "My little brother finally has a friend! I have to meet her now." More fake tears fell down his excited face. Kurogiri had such a hard time fitting in when they were growing up. The only time Oboro expressed any anger when he learned Kurogiri was being bullied. He was only four years older than him, and he was overly protective of Kurogiri growing up. Hearing Kurogiri had a friend was the best news he had heard in years.
Kurogiri huffed and tightened his crossed arms, "Just shut up and fly before I warp away."
"Aw! Why the cold shoulder!?"
(Down Below)
Sirens wailed as people were driven to the hospital, and paramedics were trying to resuscitate others on the scene. Whatever destroyed the market today had left a lasting impact on the people in Tokyo.
Aizawa was getting his arm bandaged, and Midnight was getting her leg fixed. Whatever attacked them today hurt many people, and they couldn't adequately describe what they saw. And getting a call out onto the Hero Network took forever. Whatever that thing was fried all of their electronics for miles. "How are you holding up, Mic?"
Present Mic tried to speak, but there was a cast around his broken neck. "Mhwmin." I'm fine.
As the three wounded heroes sat there in the ambulance, a man with a fedora approached them. "Greetings. I know it has been a rough night, but would you care to explain what happened… in finer detail, please."
Aizawa groaned, "Look, I already told the other detectives what happened. If you need to find out, look over their reports." They didn't believe him when he stated his quirk didn't work on what they were fighting. They came up with the excuse that he 'thought' he used his quirk.
The man raised a brow and pulled out a badge showing a dragon spiraled around a neatly drawn M. "I'm with the Ministry of Magic. I'd find it easier to ask what happened rather than stealing their notes. Which won't be up to ministry standards." He was well aware the teachers of UA knew about magic.
Aizawa looked at Midnight and Mic, "What does the Ministry have to do with this?" He still wasn't sure of the Ministry's function, besides keeping magic hidden.
"Why don't you tell me what I want to know first? Then I might be able to explain." Aizawa and Midnight explained what had happened and exactly what they saw.
"It looked like… ash? Oil? I can't even describe it. It's like it kept changing its form." Nemuri said as she attempted to describe what attacked them.
"I see." The Auror scribbled in his notebook and closed it. "I'll need to inform the Minister of Magic and International Congress." He muttered under his breath. "What you muggles were fighting was an obscurus. You should consider yourselves very lucky… most people have never lived to tell the tale of what they saw."
Nemuri looked concerned, "What's an obscurus?"
"A dark and powerful creature, a parasite, that manifests in young witches and wizards. The last to appear was over 50 years ago in India."
Aizawa was frowning, "So we were attacked by… a wizard?" That would explain why his quirk didn't work. So that creature, all this destruction, was because of magic. "What do you mean, 'manifests in young wizards'?"
The Auror seemed unsettled as he spoke, "Young witches and wizards who have suppressed their magic form what is called on obscurus. Our magic holds a strong connection to our emotions, and in young wizards, when their magic is still unstable, it forms a parasite inside of them that bursts out. Usually, when a wizard is abused emotionally, it can cultivate in the obscurus growth."
The three UA teachers were silent as they listened. Nemuri spoke up, "Wait, I'm confused. Does it not form in adults?"
"Adults? No. They form only in children. I'm sad to say that we have likely a few months before the issue resolves itself."
"And how is it going to resolve itself?" Aizawa demanded, "You're just going to let a kid kill more innocent people."
This comment clearly struck a chord with the Auror, "I'll have you know, the child has no choice in the matter. They feel nothing but pain as their body is destroyed by the obscurus. And while it might be hard for you muggles to comprehend, an obscurus is an indestructible entity. After it has exhausted the child's strength and they die from a lack of energy, so will the obscurus." The three heroes demanded more answers, though Mic was unable to speak correctly. "I understand your concern, and I'm sorry to see the devastation this caused. But this is just the way magic is. What, did you think magic was some silly tool to make our lives easier?"
Aizawa was slowly starting to like this man even less, "No, that's not it." He was growing irritated, "What if the child's strength isn't exhausted? We can't just let that thing run loose."
"Well… there is an augmented case of an obscurial surviving past the age of ten, though very rare. But by their 11th birthday, they will die."
Nemuri was upset when she heard this. She didn't like knowing some child was suffering, and whatever was inside them would lead to their ultimate demise. "I never knew magic could cause this much damage." This was nothing like what she was shown by Izuku. Looking across the street, she watched as a lifeless-man in a gurney was carried off. His face looked distorted, and his eyes were white.
The three pro-heroes and old-time friends said nothing as they sat there.
(Author notes)
That is the end of this chapter! Sorry this took so long to publish. I have been hammered with my classes. I barely have time to sleep. So much has happened in this chapter. Where do we even begin? Izuku ends up losing control and ends up at Sekijiro's with memory loss. Then we have Oboro making an appearance. Yes! I couldn't not include him in this story. For those of you who don't know, this story was written before it was known that Kurogiri was Oboro. So I just had to workaround.
Aizawa, Mic, and Midnight finally got a taste of the dark part of magic and just how devastating it can be. And they learned what an obscurus is… hmm… I wonder if they'll ever find out our little Izuku's secret. Next chapter, we will be meeting Stain! And, we get to see how Vlad reacts to Izuku the following morning. I like the idea of adding Vlad into this. As I've said before, he is so under-appreciated.
Hmmm… Tomura is up to no good. I can sense it. And Kuro isn't on good terms with his Doctor. I can only imagine what trouble this might spell in the future.
Also, I can't believe this story has already reach chapter 40. I never thought I'd get to chapter 10 XD. Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed this story as stuck around. I will make it my duty to finish this story, even if it kills me. And Happy Halloween! Please be safe if you go out.
