Derek scoffed, clearly not bothered by his words. 'Always so dramatic.'

'Says you the most dramatic of all.' Alex muttered, turning her face away as he glared at her.

'What are you doing out at this time and alone?' Derek demanded. 'Where is that so call mate of yours? Instead of caring over you, he is-'

'Right here.' Nathan appeared from around the corner. 'I am always looking over my mate Derek.'

'Yeah, after I dealt with the problem.'

Nathan sat beside Alex, making sure everyone saw his claim. She was his and no one was allowed to touch her. 'Just because you made your big entry, doesn't mean you did anything. My pack was watching long before you arrived.'

Derek laughed. 'Is that-'

'Will you to stop with the pissing contest!' Alex snapped. She really couldn't handle all the testosterone waving off both of them. 'What are you doing here Derek?'

Derek was about to snap at her, when he suddenly remembered. Alex was no longer his beta. She was mated and now an alpha of her pack. 'I heard there were a few problems. Wanted to offer some assistance.'

Nathan growled. 'It's the least you can do, seeing this is partly your fault.'

'My fault?!' Derek would have laughed, had he not been offended and confused. 'How is this my fault? I wasn't the one that beat him to a pulp and killed his father.'

Alex sighed. 'Can we do this somewhere else.'

'Who in the right mind gives their blessing to the union between him and Alex!' Nathan was snarling by now. His hackle raising with each word.

'Both of you, that's enough!' Alex nudged Nathan back, not that he moved much. The emotions of both alphas were setting off their packs. Any more and there will be another war. 'Nathan, back off.'

'I didn't know what he had done to her then!' Derek snapped.

Alex froze, her head pushing against Nathan's chest. She could hear his heart drumming against his chest. 'What did he do?'

'Alex-'

She turned around snapping her jaws inches from his face. 'What did he do?!' She knew there had to have been a reason behind their hatred towards Elston. 'Derek!'

Derek lowered his head, glaring at the cemented sidewalk. This was not how he wanted to tell her. 'Let's go somewhere less open.'

'I am not moving from here until you explain to me what he did. What was so bad, that you all turned your back to him?'

'Alex, lets go talk in the woods.' Matt appeared from within Nathan's pack. Seeing her reluctant to move he sighed. 'It has to do with out parents and pack.' Matt was quick to stop her outburst. 'Let's talk away from streets.'

Only then did she follow them back into the woods. They didn't walk to far in deep, just enough to get out of sight. One wolf was somewhat acceptable, but two packs, was sure to draw attention.

Alex didn't wait for the rest, before asking Derek once more to explain. 'What does he have to do with my pack and parents?'

Derek took in a deep breath. There was no point in hiding it any longer. He knew she would probably kill him, but she needed to know. 'The night your pack was attacked and your parents were killed, it was all Damon and Elston.'

'W-What? The night of the attack we were ambushed by hunters. My parents were killed by hunters. Why would you say Elston was behind it?!' Derek was in the wrong. Elston didn't-couldn't have done that.

'Alex, listen to him.' Matt whispered. 'Just listen.'

'Damon has always wanted to control the entire south region. In order to do that, he would have to get rid of the three alphas. But to do that he needed a larger pack.' Derek explained. 'Damon had gone to your father, with the proposal of uniting Elston and you in marriage. Unit the packs. Your father refused, over and over again. So they came up with another plan.'

'Damon knew that without our parents, our alpha became our legal guardian.' Matt took over. 'So they made a deal with the hunters. Elston waited until you were of age to ask Derek.'

'I didn't know about any of this Alex.' Derek whispered. 'I would have killed him then and there if I did. I am sorry.'

She swallowed the lump in her throat. Suddenly her mouth was dry. 'But why? Why was he hell bent on mating with me? I am only a beta! Why cause the death of my parents and pack mates?!'

'Mating with you gained him access into the pack.' Derek answered. 'He would have some control over the pack. Uniting his and ours, he would have the upper hand. Take control. Use them to take the rest of us out.'

'He could have chosen anyone else!'

Derek shook his head. 'No one else held your rank. You were just below my mate Alex.'

Alex moving away from them. She was suffocating being around them. She needed air. She needed to be alone. Anything, but keep listening to what they were saying. Stopping a few feet away, she focused on controlling her breathing. 'This can't be true. All that for some turf.'

'Alex?' Nathan stood behind her. He wanted to ease the pain she was feeling. Hell, if he could, he would take it all away. But he was at a lost. He didn't know what to do. 'Love?'

'You knew?' She refused to look at him.

Nathan sighed. 'Yeah, Matt told me before the fight with Damon.' Nathan was suddenly pushed down to the ground, his mate snarling over him.

'You knew and you didn't tell me?!' Alex was livid. 'How could you just keep something like this quiet?!'

'It wasn't my place to tell you!'

'You are my mate! If that wasn't your place then what is?!'

Nathan nuzzled into her neck. 'This was something you needed to hear from your brother and Derek. Not from me.'

Snapping her Teeth inches from her his face, she jumped off him. 'I let him touch me. He held me for days after the death of my family. He made promises to always protect me. I fucken kissed him!' Alex roared. 'I let the man that caused my parents death kiss me! Almost mated with him! Had pu-oh god-oh-I'm going to be sick.' She began feeling nauseous. Her stomach growled, sending a painful prick up her abdomen.

Nathan slowly pushed himself up off the ground. 'Hold still.' Shoving his head in between her front legs, he got closer to her stomach. Listening closely, a warm feeling rose through his body. Two little heart beats. 'Woah.'

'What?' Alex glanced up, sharing a look with the other two. 'Nathan what is it?'

Pulling back with a wide grin, he gave out a loud howl. His pack jumped in seconds later, spreading the news. 'Looks like we are having two pups.'

In the moment all the bad and hurt was washed away, if only for that moment. It was replaced with a scene of joy, pride and love. 'Two?' Nathan nodded. 'Hold shit two!' She couldn't contain her excitement. If only she could hug and kiss her mate right now. She knew she was pregnant, but having Nathan hear their beats just made it real. She was going to be a mother.

'Alex?' Derek made a move towards her, only to stop at the growl of Nathan's pack. Right. Never approach a pregnant alpha.

Alex didn't want anything to ruin this moment. She was upset and pissed off, but mostly she was hurting. Still, she didn't want to keep talking about this. She just wanted to bask in the excitement of her pups. 'You said all you needed to say. Right now I want to go home and sleep. I want to relax for the my sake and for the sake of my pups. We can talk about this later.' Not sparing them another word, she nipped at Nathan's ear. 'Walk me home?'

'Of course.' Glancing at Ty, he ordered them all to leave. With the exception of two, that will be joining Eyal's wolves. 'After you.' The walk to Ziva's place was quiet. They took the back streets, away from public eye. Nathan wouldn't take his eyes off her. When he mated with her, he knew she was the one he would give his life for. But, now, now that feeling was even bigger. He was going to be a father, to two little pups. And to make matters even better, with the woman he loved.

'You are going to burn a hole in the back of my head.' Alex mumbled.

Nathan picked up the pace, matching her steps. 'Can't help it love.'

Alex leaned into him, her shoulder rubbing his. 'So, I have noticed. You think of any names yet?'

'I just heard their hearts love; names haven't yet crossed my mind.' Nathan replied.

'How about you pick one name and I pick one name.' Alex suggested.

Nathan stopped at the bottom of the emergency stairs leading up to Ziva's unit. 'Love, we don't know if they are boys or girls.'

Alex laughed, licking his muzzle. 'Fine you name the first born. I will name the second.'

'Alright.' Nudging her up, he stood back. 'Good night. Get some rest.'

'You too Nathan. No all-night patrolling.' Alex knew about his patrols. She also knew he has not slept in two days. 'I mean it.'

'Of course.' Watching her make it safety into the apartment, he glanced around. Spotting the four wolves nearby, Nathan made his way over to them. 'Frank, head back to the house. I will stay watch. You to Michael.'

'But alpha you haven't gotten any rest.' Michael spoke. Originally, he wouldn't argue any orders, but Nathan was not behaving like himself.

Frank stepped up, backing his packmate. 'He is right alpha. You haven't slept and you just did tell alpha Alex you would.'

Nathan sighed. 'Go home. I will take it from here.'

Sharing a look with each other, they decided it was best not to argue with him. Nathan had a bad temper when it came to Alex.

'You two as well.' Eyal broke from walked out from deep in the woods. 'Nathan and I will stay here.' Eyal's pack mates left without a second thought. They were tired and wanting sleep. Taking a seat beside Nathan, he chuckled lowly. 'Did you bring food this time?'

'I thought you were going to bring it.' Nathan replied.

Eyal frowned. 'What made you believe that?'

'Well you are my bitch.' Nathan laughed, dodging the snap of teeth heading his way. 'It was a joke!' Nathan took off running, the large timber wolf hot on his tail. 'It was a joke you asshole!'

Alex laughed as she watched the two alphas chasing themselves. She was curled up on the couch, near the window. Tucking her nose up against her stomach, falling asleep to the sound of two small beats. 'I swear those two are nothing, but children. Either way, that is your father.'
