Happy New Year! Sorry for the late update.
Jasper wakes up from being knocked out, holding his head where he was hit. Slowly he looks around to see where he's at. I noticed he's in lockup.
"Miller; buddy, let me out." Jasper asked.
"Sorry, I can't; I have my orders to keep you in lockup until Clarke and Heda say otherwise." Miller replied, looking at him.
"Since, when do you listen to the grounder leader?" Jasper asked again, leaning against the metal bars.
"Heda is Clarke's other half. Whatever you did, was an act of stupid revenge. Clarke had no control over what happened back at Mount Weather, and you know that. She was doing what was best for us. If you can get over your hate for them, you'll see that." Miller explained, trying to get through.
"Your just as blind as them, Miller. How can you not see their just putting on a front?" Jasper said.
"You were not in here when they spoke to Bellamy. Sure they may have threatened him if there is harm against their children. Obviously, those kids mean everything to them. Get with the program and fall in line. Heda has control over the thirteen clans, and so does Clarke. Together they have to deal with more situations than any of us. Without them trying to keep the peace between every clan, Skaikru would perish long before Mount Weather falling. You know that." Miller said, feeling disgusted his friend wants to fight those keeping the peace.
"It'll be on you idiots if the so-called peace falls apart because they can't keep it in their pants. Caring about themselves than the others." Jasper laughed, lays back down on the cot.
"You still don't get it? They put themselves last. Everyone plus the children is being cared for first. Their needs will be last. That's what it means to be a leader. You have no sense of being a leader. At least the last occupant in this cell gets it." Miller replied.
"And look what happened to Bellamy. He got shot, protecting a grounder child." Jasper laughed it off again.
"That's because the child is worth protecting than himself." Miller said, walking away closing the door on Jasper. So he doesn't have to hear anything else. Miller stays at his post.
Madi wakes up, looks around that everyone is asleep. She quietly sneaks out of Clarke's hold, getting up to play with the children. Octavia, noticed Madi leaving the safety area.
"Madi, come back here now." Lexa said quietly, in her light sleep.
"Good try, little one. You know your mother has perfect hearing." Octavia snickered that Madi got caught.
"Leksa..., I want to play..." Madi moped back to her mother.
Lexa wraps an arm around her daughter, pulling her into her lap. Kissed to the top of her head.
"I know. You'll have time to play. I want you to be safe." Lexa explained.
"Aunt Tavia, won't let anything happen to me." Madi said, looking up at Leksa.
"I know." Lexa replied with a smile.
One of the Ark children walked over and bowed to the Commander, with two play swords.
"Excuse me, Commander Lexa, can Madi play?" The Ark child nervously asked, with all the grounders surrounding the family.
"She can. Go Madi. Play. Be careful." Lexa said, giving Madi another kiss on the head.
Madi smiled and gave Leksa a big hug, getting up from her mother's lap. Running out to the field with the Ark child.
Lexa watched from afar, watching Madi stance and form with the play sword. She smiles at the natural talent her daughter has.
"If I didn't know any better, Heda. She takes after you." Octavia also mentioned watching Madi from afar.
"I haven't trained her yet. Unless you and Indra did while we were at Azgeda?" Lexa asked, not taking her eyes off her daughter.
"We would never. We know better than take that honor away from you." Octavia responded, looking down at Heda.
"Good. Then I won't be taking both of your heads. I want to train my own child without you two interfering." Lexa replied, looking at Okteivia.
"She looks to have the basics down. I'm sure you'll have her perfect it." Octavia mentioned, looking back at Madi.
"I will. As her mother and Heda. She'll be a perfectionist." Lexa said with a smirk. Watching Madi flip out a tight situation.
"Lexa. You said she won't be training from a year from now?!" Clarke yelled in a whisper, pushing off the tree to see what everyone one is looking at.
"Easy, Klark. She's just playing and is a natural. It's in her blood." Lexa whispered back, not wanting to wake the boy between them.
"That doesn't look like playing. Octavia, what did you do to my daughter?" Clarke asked her friend.
"I didn't do anything." Octavia said, defensively putting her arms up.
Madi got a hold of the other play sword and twirls around with both play swords attacking forward.
"She memorized your attack when you first fought Roan." Clarke mentioned, watching her daughter.
"That's my daughter, and I didn't teach her a single thing." Lexa said with pride.
"Don't get too cocky. One of you is fine. But two of you. It's going to be hard for me and not to be able to hold my baby girl for much longer. She'll have her warrior face on all the time." Clarke explained, with sadness in her voice.
"Shhh, Babe, she won't have to use it. I'm still here." Lexa said to reassure her lover.
"I want them to be free of war. Just be children, as they should be." Clarke replied.
"And they will. But they'll have the training just in case." Lexa mentioned.
Aden stirs from his sleep and stretches, hearing what everyone is talking about. Looking over at his sister playing with Ark kids.
"Can I join them?" He asked, looking at his mothers.
"Go." Clarke said before Lexa could say anything.
Clarke moves closer to Lexa, and now the children are away playing. Lexa slips behind Clarke, leaning against the tree trunk pulling Clarke into her safeguarded hold. They sit there in silence, watching their children.
"You know, for being Heda and Wanheda. You both are being too mushy out in public." Octavia said under her breath.
"Then don't look behind you; keep your eyes on the children." Lexa muttered, kissing Clarke's exposed neck.
"Can you take that back to your quarters?" Octavia mentioned, becoming squirmish.
"No, I'm comfortable now." Clarke retorted, being relaxed under Lexa's lips.
