Rocks are thrown to the scouts. Eren and his friends are taking a beating from the white titan. Erwin leads his army to the beast titan.
Suddenly, rocks were thrown to the scouts. Levi dodged them. The buildings were badly destroyed. The smell of blood filled the air. The beast titan crushed the boulder and threw more rocks at the scouts.
Hitch screamed. "What the heck is that?!"
"How the heck should I know?!" Marlowe asked.
"Scouts! Take cover!" Erwin said.
The beast titan threw the rocks at the colossal titan's legs but it wasn't enough to take it down. "So," the beast titan said. "you're still standing, huh?"
The titan rolled the boulder to him. "Good," he said. "leave it right there."
He grabbed the boulder. "You know what they say," he crushed the boulder. "the bigger they are, the harder they fall."
He threw the rocks at the colossal titan's legs again and this time it fell to the ground.
"Ugh," Bertholdt said. "The colossal titan is a powerful titan but being slow has to be the worst part of it."
Later, Eren and his friends were dealing with the white titan.
"Armin, you better come up with a plan fast! We need to take this thing down, now!" Connie said.
"Make it fast, Armin!" Sasha said.
Armin froze in fear as he looked at the white titan. It was walking to them with the hammer in its hands.
"Armin," Annie placed her hand on his shoulder. "what's your plan?"
Armin's heart was beating really fast, he couldn't breath. His hands and his body were shaking. He looked at Jean.
"Jean," he said. "can you take over?"
Jean raised his eyebrow. "Me? Why?"
"B-Because," he lowered his head. "I just don't know what to do."
Jean sighed. "Fine," he said. "everyone, focus your attacks on the white titan!"
"But what about Reiner? I can't leave him like this." Sasha said.
Jean looked at Reiner. "Okay," he said. "you stay with him and we will take out the titan."
"Okay," she said. "I will."
"Armin," Jean said. "I'm just making this up as I go. But in the end, we're counting on you."
Armin nodded. "Yeah," he said. "right."
"Okay," Jean said. "Eren will hold the titan still so that me, Connie, Moblit, and Marco will go for the legs! Hanji, Mikasa, Historia, Carla and Rico will go for the nape!"
"But, Jean," Annie said. "nothing happened when Ymir bit its nape."
"She's right," Ymir spoke in her titan. "I couldn't pierce through its nape. You think the thunder spears will do anything to it?"
"We have to try," Jean said. "now, go for the nape and blow this titan to pieces!"
Eren ran to the titan and held onto its hammer.
"Yeah," Hanji said. "hold it still Eren!"
"You got this, Eren," Moblit said. "keep it up!"
"Okay," Jean said. "everyone, use your thunder spears on the titan, now!"
Jean, Connie, Moblit and Marco shot the titan's legs. Eren moved away from the titan. The explosion knocked it down to the ground. Hanji, Mikasa, Historia, Carla and Rico shot the nape. The explosion stopped it from moving.
"Did it work?" Mikasa asked.
"Is it dead?" Historia asked.
"I hope so," Carla said. "please work."
Everyone was silent. The titan was keeping them in suspense. Eren walked to the titan.
"Eren," Carla flew to his shoulder. "be careful." He looked at her and nodded.
She flew away from him. He hardened his hands and the white titan got up, spawned its hammer and smashed Eren's face. His body was sent flying and landed on-top of the wall.
Everyone's eyes widened.
"Eren!" Mikasa said.
"Oh my god," Carla said. "Eren!"
"This isn't good," Rico said. "not good at all."
"Why? This doesn't make any sense! How is it still alive?" Historia asked.
"Crap," Jean said. "looks like shooting its nape didn't work." Jean said.
"Impossible," Moblit said. "how do we kill this thing?"
"That's a good question," Hanji said. "shooting the nape with our thunder spears won't work. So we're gonna have to try something else."
They flew to Armin and Annie.
"Armin," Mikasa said. "please tell us, you have a plan to take this thing down."
Armin sighed. "No," he said. "I'm sorry."
"Come on, Armin," Annie said. "I'm sure you can think of something."
"Hey guys," Sasha said. "look over here!"
They looked at Sasha and their eyes widened. The armored titan was fully healed and was walking to them with Sasha on its shoulder.
Later, the beast titan was still throwing rocks at the scouts. The colossal titan shielded the scouts with its body. Levi and Erwin looked up to see Eren on the wall.
"Looks like things are not going so good for them," Levi said. "do you have a plan, Erwin?"
"No," Erwin said. "not yet."
"Well, you better come up with something fast," Mike said. "because things are about to get ugly."
"Hey," Marlowe said. "why didn't you watch the horses?"
"Shut up," Floch said. "what's the point?"
"What did you say?" Marlowe asked.
"What's the point of protecting the horses, when there's no one left to ride them?" Floch asked.
Everyone was silent.
"He has a point," Hitch said. "what are we going to do?"
Marlowe sighed. "I have no idea," he said. "but I don't plan on dying today."
"Why did I bother joining the scouts? When I was asked if I could give my heart for the greater good of humanity, I thought I could do it. I thought I could be different. Why did I thought I could be different?" Floch said.
"Erwin," Levi said. "how many of us are left?"
"Us," he said. "just us."
"What?" Levi said.
"That's impossible," Mike said. "it can't be just us."
"Yes," he said. "when the beast titan threw the rocks, Squad Dirk, Squad Marlene, and Squad Klaus were in the line of fire. So now, it's just the recruits, Squad Levi, Squad Hanji and us.
The recruits screamed when the rocks damaged the buildings.
"Well," Mike said. "that's a darn shame."
"So," Levi said. "what are we gonna do?"
"I'm gonna have to lead a cavalry charge," Erwin walked to a box and sat down. "but it's going to take a con man and some lies to convince them to fight."
"But what about the beast titan? We won't be able to get to him while he's throwing rocks at us." Mike said.
"I know," Erwin sighed. "I just...I just want to go to the basement. If I can just go in the basement and see what's inside, I would be happy. I want to know if my father was right. I thought dying would be easier, but the thought of the answers in the basement just makes me want to go and grab them."
"Darn," Mike said. "to be so close to the truth and have it taken away from you...that's tough."
"Erwin," Levi said. "you are a good leader. We wouldn't have gotten this far without you. Give up on your dream and lead the recruits straight to hell. I'll take out the beast titan."
Erwin smiled. "Levi," he said. "thank you."
"Well crap," Mike said. "better to do something than to just sit here and wait to die."
The beast titan crushed the boulder. The sounds of screaming men were coming to him. "Charge!" Erwin said. He and his men screamed as they began charging to the beast titan. The colossal titan began walking to him.
"Well," the beast titan said. "I wasn't expecting them to lie down and die, but...a suicide charge? I thought they would do better than that."
"Scouts," Erwin said. "fire!"
The scouts fired their smoke rounds in the air.
"Smoke," he said. "oh, it's those smoke rounds they use."
"Scouts," Erwin said. "move!"
They moved and continued charging to the beast titan.
"I'm going to explain our final operation," Erwin said. "Scouts, line up!"
"We will be charging to the beast titan," he said. "this will make us easy targets. We will fire our smoke rounds at him. That should make his accuracy difficult for him. Levi will take down the titans and kill the beast titan. Does anyone have any questions?"
"What? You want me to take down those titans? There isn't any tree or building for me to attach to." Levi said.
"You're wrong," Erwin said. "you can use the colossal titan to get close to those titans. Take out the titans and finish the beast titan."
Levi attached himself to a titan and sliced the nape. He flew to the colossal titan and attached himself to its shoulder. He looked at the scouts charging to the beast titan.
"I'm sorry," he said. "good luck."
Everyone was silent. Hitch threw up.
"Standing here and doing nothing will just get us killed," Erwin said. "everyone get on your horses."
"Sir," Floch said. "be honest...are we heading to our deaths?" Marlowe's eyes widened.
"Yes," he said. "we are."
"So what you're saying is," he began tearing up. "it's better to fight than to sit here and die?"
"Yes," he said. "you're right."
"So it doesn't matter right? It doesn't matter if we disobey orders or whatever. Because it's all meaningless, right?" Floch said.
"Yes," he said. "it doesn't matter how good or bad your life is or the hopes and dreams you have. In the end, everyone will die someday. But, does that mean our lives are meaningless? Was their any point in us being born? What about our fallen comrades? Can you say the same for them? Were their lives meaningless? No they weren't! Their lives have meaning to us all! The brave have fallen! Many lives have fallen! But it's up to us the living to give meaning to their lives so that their memory lasts forever!"
The rocks were coming to them as they continued charging. "This is how we can stand up and fight against the cruelty of this world!" Erwin's eyes widened.
"My soldiers rage! My soldiers scream! My soldiers fight!"
Levi takes down the beast titan. Armin finally comes up with a plan to take out the white titan. The battle comes to an end.
To be continued...
