I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with their friends and family!

Kagome's POV

I felt their words fwash through my mind. Death and destruction, the complete opposite of what I once was. I looked up at Sesshomaru to find him looking at me closely, I could feel his concern.

I looked away from him and at Ayako. "So I'm basically a dark priestess?"

She shook her head. "No, you are much more."

I nodded slowly and looked down at my hands, they were the same as they always were yet I was the complete opposite of what I was. I looked out over the ocean, should I be afraid of what I've become? Or proud?

I felt a warm hand on my shoulder and looked up into Eichi's golden eyes. "I realize that us telling a former priestess that she is now the embodiment of death must be quite hard to believe." I nodded and he smiled at me. "Do not be afraid."

Daichi stood up and brushed off his kimono. "I admit, I was wrong." He looked over at me and winked. "I'm sure I speak for all three of us when I say that we will gladly stay and assist you with training."

Ayako nodded and grabbed both my hands excitedly. "Oh yes! I personally can't wait for your first transformation!"

I looked at her in surprise. "Transformation?"

Sesshomaru stepped forward a look of surprise on his face. "She has an animal spirit?"

Eichi nodded and looked up at Sesshomaru. "I'm sure you'll be most pleased with it."

Ayako looked up at him and smirked. "Not very often mates are found."

I looked from her to Sesshomaru. "What does that mean?"

Daichi burst out laughing. "Oh! That makes so much more sense!" He looked at Sesshomaru and wiped a tear from his eye. Sesshomaru was glaring at him, if looks could kill he'd be gone.

I stood up and brushed off my Kimono. "Will someone please tell me what's going on?"

Daichi sighed and pulled my hands from Ayako and pulled me towards him. I watched in surprise as Sesshomaru's face went from annoyance to feral. "Do not touch her," Daichi smirked and pulled me closer. It looked like Sesshomaru was ready to pounce and then the world went black.

I opened one of my eyes and found myself not where I had been moments before. "Sorry about that darling." I looked behind me at Ayako. "I have a feeling you've been kept in the dark."

I heard a loud roar far off in the distance and stepped back from her. "I don't know what's going on."

She looked up at the sky and cursed. "He's going to kill me after this. Damn him for not telling you."

I clenched my fists tight my claws almost piercing my skin. "Then you tell me."

Ayako looked at me in surprise for a moment before nodding. "What we did in the clearing with your aura let us see into your soul darling." She kneeled down on the ground and reached up to pull me down next to her. "We could feel your power, your potential and who your soul has chosen."

"Chosen?"

She sighed and nodded. "There is no other way to say this darling, you and Lord Sesshomaru are bonded."

I felt something in my mind click and remembered back to the cave, where I had fallen asleep before Sesshomaru could finish. "Tell me everything."

She smiled at me her eyes glinting. "I will tell you everything if you tell me everything."

I looked at her a moment before nodding. "Deal."

She looked at me in complete silence before I realized she wanted me to go first. I sighed, "Where do you want me to start?"

She smirked. "Before you were changed."

I nodded and thought back, I couldn't tell her where I came from but I could tell her how I met Inuyasha and how I found out I was a priestess. "A few years ago I met Sesshomaru's brother-"

Ayako sat up straight. "Inuyasha?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I found him pinned to a tree with an arrow."

Ayako's eyes brightened. "So he was sealed to a tree?"

I nodded again. "Yes, by the priestess Kikyo. She died shortly after so Inuyasha was stuck to the tree for fifty years." I stopped and looked at her expectantly.

She chuckled and nodded. "Your animal spirit is the same as Sesshomaru's."

I blinked in surprise. "I'm a dog demon?"

She thought for a moment. "Yes and no."

I gave her a look. "What is that supposed to mean?"

She smirked at me. "Death takes many forms."

I glared at her. "How does that make my spirit the same as his?"

"Your spirit is the same as mine as well." she looked at me a moment before shaking her head. "Tell me more."
