Chapter 50
Callie's P.O.V:
"So, Teddy wants to throw us a bachelorette party,"Arizona says, plopping herself down her side of the bed next to me.
"Well that's nice of her," I say with a smile.
"Yeah, she also wants to throw us a reception."
"Oh..Are you going to let her?"
"I don't have much of a choice," She says with a laugh. "I mean, after all, we didn't tell her we were getting married yesterday."
"Yeah, I guess you have a point," I tell her. I didn't look at her, I was so focused on the screen of my laptop that was in my lap.
"What you looking at?" She asks, leaning over to get a look at what I was doing. Before she could what I had pulled open, I quickly slammed my laptop shut.
"Nothing," I lie. Placing the device on my nightstand, I leaned over to her give her a peck on her lips, but she just turns away. "Why did you pull away?"
"What were you looking at that you didn't want me to see?" She asks. I could tell by the tone of her voice, she was a little agitated with my secrecy.
"It was nothing," I lied again. Standing up from her side of the bed, she grabs her pillow and tried to leave the room.
"Where are you going?" I ask her.
"I'm going to sleep on the couch." She tells me, "Apparently you don't want me to see what you were looking at, and then you lie to me when I ask you what you're doing, so I'm just going to sleep on the couch tonight." She turns and walks out of the room. I get up from my side and follow her out to the living room.
"Arizona.." I say to her. "You really want to know what I was doing?"
"No, it's okay, you don't have to tell me," She says to me, as she gets situated on the couch. Letting out a sigh, I move to sit next to her.
"I will tell you what I was looking at," I tell her.
"No, Callie, you don't have to. It's none of my business what you do on your own computer. I just hope what female you're talking to, knows that you are married."
Standing up, I give her a glare, "You really think I'm talking to another female? After we just got married yesterday? Are you fucking serious?" I knew I was getting a little loud, but her accusing me of talking to someone else really pissed me off.
"Well, you're talking to someone you don't want to know about, so what else am I suppose to think?" She asks, getting just as loud.
"I wasn't talking to another fucking female," I yell.
"Then who the hell were you talking to, Callie?"
Before I could answer, Noah started to cry. Throwing my arms in the air, I let out a frustrating growl, "Great, we just woke him up."
"I'll get him," she says, making her way to his room. A moment later, she returns with him on her hip. "I doubt he's going back to sleep soon."
"Yeah, well he would have been asleep if we had raised our voice," I say, rubbing my hands through my hair.
"So, you going to tell me who you were talking to?" She asks me.
"Well, I can tell you one thing, it ain't no fucking female."
"If it wasn't another female, Callie, you would tell me. So you not telling me who you were talking to at..." She stops for a moment, walks to the kitchen to check the time, "At 9 o'clock at night, sure tells me it was damn female."
"God, you're really impossible, you know that," I tell her, "I wouldn't cheat on you, Arizona. It never crossed my mind."
"Then just tell me, who were you talking to?" She asks. I stayed quiet for a bit. I didn't want to tell her right now, that I was looking at a house for us. I wanted to surprise her. "You're still not going to tell me, are you?" I just shook my head. "Fine, then don't." She walks back into our bedroom, then returns a moment later, with a small overnight bag in her hand.
"Where are you going?" I ask her.
"I'm taking Noah and we're going to stay in a hotel tonight."
"For fuck sake, Arizona. You can't just leave everytime we get into it." I yell at her.
"Yeah, well stop keeping fucking secrets and we wouldn't have this fucking problem, would we?" she quips back.
"If you must know, my Dad is coming into town. He's coming in on business, so while he was here, I was going to have him look at houses with me, for us."
"Why didn't you just tell me that, instead of hiding it from me?" She asks, lowering her voice.
"Because, it was suppose to be a surprise. We were going to pick out a few that he and I liked, then take you so you could see them, see if you liked them too." I stated, "He got me into touch with a realtor last night while you were in the shower. Since he knew the guy, he figured he could talk him about talking to the owners about lowering the price for us. That's if we found the house we both liked."
"I'm sorry, Calliope." She says, taking a step towards me. "I didn't mean to jump to conclusions."
"Yeah, well that's what happens when I'm so secretive. and not tell you what's going on." I tell her. "I'll put Noah back down, unless you're still wanting to take him and go to a hotel tonight."
"No," She says, "What I want is to show my wife how sorry I am. For jumping to conclusions and accusing her of cheating on me."
Giving her a sad smile, I take Noah from her, then make my way to his room.
After an hour, Noah finally went down. When I knew he was out, I walked out of the room and closed the door.
"Did he finally go down?" I hear Arizona ask, not realizing she was still in the living room.
"Yeah, he's down. He's out like a light." As I was heading toward our bedroom, she grabs me by the wrist.
"Calliope, I really am sorry about tonight." She says to me.
"It's fine, Arizona. Let's just go to bed." I tell her. I try to walk away again, but she pulled me back towards her again.
"No, it's not fine. I jumped the guns. I just thought that, with the way you closed your computer when I went to see what you were doing, I just thought that you were cheating. You have been my first for everything. My first love, my first when it came to sex, not to mention, my first marriage. I just thought that with the way you were keeping secrets from me, you were cheating."
Turning myself to where I'm face to face with her, I grabbed her face, and looked deep into her eyes, "Arizona, not once, have I thought about cheating on you. It never crossed my mind. I would never do that to you. You are a lot to lose, and I don't ever want to think about what it would be like if you weren't in my life. You and Noah mean everything to me."
"I know that now." she says, giving me a weak smile.
"Should have known that before. Arizona, if I didn't love you, I would've given up on trying to contact you after our first night together. I would've just went on about my life. But I couldn't. That night at the bar, when we sang together, it ruined any chance for anyone to have me. My heart belong to you, and always will. Just the thought of cheating on you, then losing you and Noah, it would tear me up. I would never do that to you."
"I know, and I'm sorry. Can I show you how sorry I am?" She asks me.
I thought about her question for a moment , then spoke,
"Maybe." I say. Turning to walk away, she grabs me again.
"Maybe?"
"Yeah, I'm a little tired right now because my wife decided to keep me awake most of the night last night," I say with a smile.
"I didn't hear you complaining," She says with a laugh.
"Oh, believe me, I wasn't." I laugh. I grabbed her by the back of the thighs and carried her to the bedroom.
*Sorry, I had to throw in a little drama lol Hope you enjoy*
