When Fitz arrived at the hospital, Angela was sleeping. The doctor had to give her a sedative. Angela told the doctor everything about Jake, his wife and Amelia. He asked Fitz if he was family, and he said a family friend. The doctor didn't have anyone to call for Amelia. He explained to her as best he could about the accident. This was his first time letting a six year old know about dead patients. It was a hard conversation. She asked the doctor about going to school. The doctor was relieved when Fitz came in the waiting room. He let Fitz know he would check on Amelia and try to find her next of kin.

"Hi Fitz. Are you here to see your friend Angela?"

"Yes."

"Is she okay?"

"Yes."

"The doctor said mom and dad were hurt really bad in an accident, and they're not coming to get me from the hospital. I can stay with Angela. She is nicer than mom and dad. I like her. Am I going to live with Angela now?"

"I don't know. I have to talk to Angela about that. Do you have any grandparents, or aunts or uncles?"

"No."

Fitz needed to speak with Angela. Maybe she searched Jake's phone and had some of his contacts. He couldn't leave Amelia at the hospital, and he couldn't bring her home. Fitz put his head in his hands. It was almost 9:00, and his job was calling. He couldn't work today.

"Is Ms. Pope at school?"

"Yes."

"Can you take me to school. I have to give Ms. Pope my homework."

"We are going to stay at the hospital awhile. We can leave when Angela feels better."

"Okay."

"Do you want some snacks from the vending machine?"

"Yes, I didn't have any breakfast."

"Okay."

It was hard for Fitz to keep his emotions together. He had to find Jake and Abby's close contacts. Someone in their phones would know how to handle this situation with Amelia.
