A/N Hey, everyone. Happy New Year. First of all, I want to thank you everyone for your continuing support and contribution to this story. And second, this forty-first chapter will focus on the New Year. I know yesterday was New Year's Eve and I thought about posting the chapter today. So sit back and let's get to it.

I don't any characters. All rights belong to Stan Lee. Happy Birthday to him, by the way.

Chapter 41: Celebrating New Year's Eve

On the snowy day in New York, everyone goes on with their daily routine to get ready for the big celebration day. Some of the countries around the world had their New Year fireworks and celebrated. Peter Parker is one of those who's getting ready for the big celebration.

One day, Peter is at home with his aunt May, who has taken time off from work because of the holidays. Peter is also taking a couple of days off from fighting crime.

"Happy New Year's Eve, Pete!" May called.

"Happy New Year's Eve, May!" Peter called back.

Peter pulled out his phone and texted in the group chat.

Peter - Happy New Year's Eve! I'm inviting everyone to my apartment for the big countdown.

Ned - Sounds cool. I'll be there.

MJ - You know I'll be there.

Betty - Sounds fun!

Cindy - I need to get out of my house for once. I'll be there!

Jason - Awesome! See you guys tonight.

Peter grinned, as he watched the responses coming up on the group chat. When he puts his phone away, the news appeared on TV.

"Breaking news. The NYPD is engaged in a high speed chase involving four suspects speeding in a four door car. We'll bring you more footage," the reporter stated.

Peter rolled his eyes.

"Why do people commit a crime during the holidays?" he asked himself.

Peter puts on his new suit he made during the crisis in London before he jumps out the window to assist the police. He spots the speeding car before pursuing it. He tries to find something to stop the car from speeding before someone gets hurt. Unable to find anything to halt the speeding car, Peter jumps down on the roof of the car.

"Hey! You guys know you're ruining the holidays, right?" he asked.

"Stay out of this, Spider-Man!" one of the thugs yelled.

"Okay, that's it! You're on a time out!" Peter exclaimed as he webbed one of the thugs to a nearby tree branch before doing the same to the rest of the companions.

Once Peter webbed the thieves, he jumps off the car before he webs the car's rear bumper to stop the car. He struggles at first, but he was able to halt the car.

"I guess that's pretty much it. Time to head home," Peter said to himself as he swung away from the crime scene.

When Peter returned to the apartment, he opened the window and crawled to the ceiling of his bedroom without making a noise. But this didn't help when he drops from the ceiling.

'So much for sneaking in without making a noise,' he thought.

"Peter? Is that you?" asked May.

"Yeah, it's me. I just stopped a high speed chase," Peter replied.

Peter quickly changed from his suit to his normal clothes as he walked out of his bedroom and fixing his hair.

"I just watched the news. Good job on stopping those criminals," said May.

"Thanks, May. I wasn't gonna let those criminals ruin the end of the year's tradition," said Peter.

A couple of hours later, when night falls, Peter helps May get ready for what could be the biggest countdown that's in a couple of hours. Just then, someone knocks on the door and Peter goes to answer it.

"Happy, hey!" said Peter.

"Happy New Year's Eve, Peter!" said Happy.

"Thanks. You too," said Peter.

"Hey, May!" Happy called.

"Hey! Happy New Year's Eve!" said May.

"Where's everyone else?" asked Happy.

"They haven't arrived yet. I already messaged them ahead," Peter replied.

Then, someone else knocks on the door.

"Hold on! I'm coming!" said Peter.

He opens the door and finds his friends standing at the doorway.

"Hey, guys! Happy New Year's Eve!" he said.

"Happy New Year's Eve!" said Cindy.

"Come on in," said Peter as he stepped aside to let everyone in.

When his friends enters the apartment, Peter closes the door behind him.

"This place looks amazing!" said Cindy.

"It isn't much, but I'll agree with that. I'm glad you like it Cindy," said Peter.

Peter's friends then took off their jackets and left it on the couch.

"Is that everyone?" he asked.

"We're the only ones here. So we should be good," Betty replied.

There was a knock on the door, and Peter was confused.

'I thought everyone is already here. Is there someone else missing?' he asked himself.

Peter opens the door and gets his answer. Mr. Harrington is the one who's still missing out of everyone Peter invited.

"Mr. Harrington! Happy New Year's Eve!" said Peter.

"Happy New Year's Eve!" said Mr. Harrington.

Just then, the countdown appeared on the TV screen and everyone goes to the couch to watch the countdown.

"3... 2... 1..." They all chanted.

When the timer hits zero, everyone got up and started celebrating.

"Happy New Year!" they shouted in unison.

"Happy New Year MJ," said Peter.

"Happy New Year Peter," said MJ as she kissed him.
