Elliott was looking around the house that he had been calling home and couldn't believe that in a few short months he would be moving once again. Elliott noticed when Sam and Jack were around there was something different. He knew better than to ask but they seemed to be happier than usual to go into work and a sadder when they came home. They still did their normal things, they sat and had dinner they had conversations with him. Jack still had asked about school and Cassie. He could just tell something was eating at them. He had asked a few times if everything was alright, and they both insured him everything was fine. He tried to shake it off but got a feeling there was something more to the story. He had asked Cassie who was very vague but thought she knew what it was about but couldn't say much more than that.
Cassie had secretly hoped that Sam and Jack would adopt the two girls and had even told Janet, who told Cassie not to get her hopes up. Cassie had explained to the girls she was from a different planet and came to earth after her parents died too. She explained to the girls all the cool stuff she remembered when she first got to Earth. Of course, Myalah seemed more interested than her little sister. Cassie knew the girls might not stay, but even though they were a lot younger than her, she thought it would be nice not to be so alone.
Sam and Jack had made their way into the SGC, Sam was in her lab, and Jack was in Daniel's office when General Hammond had called them to his office.
"I wanted to let you know that our Edorian friends have offered to take the girls." General Hammond claimed.
Sam and Jack looked at each other.
"Edora, sir?" Sam asked.
General Hammond looked at her.
"You have a better idea Major?" General Hammond asked.
She looked down at her boots, not sure what to say.
"Laria has asked for your teams specifically to come back, and there is a scheduled drop off of supplies in 2 weeks." General Hammond claimed.
Jack just nodded.
"Off the record, why don't the two of you take the day, I think you may want to discuss a few things. If you have a better option, I'm always open to ideas." General Hammond claimed.
Sam looked up and then to Jack.
"Come on, Major. I think we have a lot to think about." Jack claimed.
The two wordlessly go to the elevators and to his truck.
When Jack gets Sam through the door, Sam looks at him and starts to cry.
"I didn't think it would be like this," Sam admitted.
"Hey, me either, but you know how it is." Jack pulled Sam into a hug. They hadn't even made it out of the entryway.
"I want them Jack." Sam claimed.
Jacks heart soars and he had been thinking the same, but Sam had already told him she wasn't quite ready to leave things behind, and her getting pregnant, well that would give her a few months to prepare, but now all of a sudden they had two weeks.
"So, how's this gonna work, Sam?" Jack asked.
"I don't know, but I have a feeling we need a nanny," Sam claimed.
Jack smiled.
"Yeah,, and a bigger house," Jack stated.
Sam whined.
"What?" Jack asked.
"When I picture us and kids, it's always been this house," Sam claimed.
"You picture us and kids as in more than one?" Jack asked.
Sam nodded her head.
"How many?" Jack asks.
Sam laughs.
"Well, my whole life, I always wanted two pictured myself with two, but ever since we've been together if I close my eyes, I see four." Sam claims.
"Four Carter, we don't have time for 2," Jack stated.
"I know, and by no means am I saying I want four kids. It's just what I see.
"Well, I guess the addition isn't going to build itself," Jack stated.
"Sam, are you sure?" Jack asked.
"More than anything," Sam claimed.
Jack kissed her lips, and she moaned when his tongue swiped her bottom lip.
Jack loved that reaction and reached down and flicked a nipple. They were undressing each other in his living room, and soon Sam had taught Jack a new position, and he was sure they would be using it again. They were balled up on the couch together.
"We're going to have two beautiful daughters." Jack stated.
Sam sighed.
"Yeah, you ready for that?" Sam asked.
"Cass has given me a little practice," Jack claimed.
"So Sam, does this mean your moving in?" Jack asked.
"Guess it does," Sam claimed.
"So, you think we should go to see our girls?" Jack asked.
Sam nodded. They both went to his room to change and freshen up and went back to the SGC.
General Hammond hadn't left yet, and Jack asked to see the man.
When the 2 walked in, General Hammond looked a little upset.
"I thought I told you two to leave, Colonel." General Hammond claimed.
"We did, sir, but we're back," Jack claimed.
"Okay, well…" General Hammond asked.
"We want them," Sam claimed.
General Hammond smiled brightly.
"Congratulations!"
"We'll have to make this an event." General Hammond claimed.
"Your dad is on his way." General Hammond claimed.
Sam looked at him oddly.
"sir?" Sam asked.
"Off the record, major I know that you two love those girls I could tell the moment you walked though the gate with them, a new gleam in both of your eyes, you just know." General Hammond claimed.
"Now, your dad may be upset. The only way I could get him was saying it was an emergency." General Hammond claimed.
"You're a sly dog, general." Jack claimed
"In this case, it's George." General Hammond claimed.
"Unscheduled off-world activation." comes over the intercom and the siren goes off.
"It's the Tokra, sir," Walter claims.
"Open the Iris." General Hammond commands, and three rush through to the gate room.
Jacob comes through the gate visibly pale but smiles wide when he sees Sam, Jack, and George all standing there, with beaming smiles.
"I was told it's an emergency," Jacob claims.
"Well that's what I had to say, it's good to see you." General Hammond claimed.
"You, two now, what's going on?" Jacob asked.
"Well, dad, you see…" Sam claims.
"What, she's trying to say, dad…" Jack rattles off.
"We um, well first off, we're engaged!" Sam claims quickly and pulls her dog tags with the ring around it.
Jacob smiles.
"Well, congratulations, I figured it was a matter of time, how long? When's the date?" Jacob asked.
"That's not exactly why you're here," Jack claimed.
"Okay, well, what is it then?" Jacob asked.
"How long can you stay?" Jack asked.
Jacob frowned.
"Depends on the emergency," Jacob asked.
Jack, Sam, and Jacob walk up to Jack's office.
"Well, what is it?" Jacob asked.
"Well, we wanted you to be the first to know, other than General Hammond, of course…" Jack stated.
"You're going to be a granddad again… and again," Jack claimed.
Jacob's eyes are wide as saucers.
"What?" He asked.
"Sam, are you pregnant!" Jacob asked.
"No," Sam says semi-sadly.
He looked at them.
"We rescued some kids off a planet, and it was either Edora or us, not that they wouldn't have a good home, but," Jack stated.
"Sam, you got attached," Jacob claimed.
"We both did," Jack stated.
Jacob smiled.
"So where are they?" Jacob asked.
"In one of the VIP rooms, they don't even know it yet," Sam claimed.
"So, you're living together now?" Jacob asked.
"Not yet," Sam claimed.
Jacob looked at the two of them and shook his head.
"You two diving in deep, aren't you," Jacob asked.
"Did you expect anything less?" Jack asked.
"Not from the two of you," Jacob claimed.
Sam and Jack brought Jacob up the room.
"Hey, girls," Jack claimed.
Lupali came running to Jack and eyed Jacob hesitantly.
"This is my dad," Sam claimed.
Myalah looked a the man and smiled.
Lupali, Myalah, how would you like it if you came to live with Sam and me?" Jack asked.
Myalah looked hesitant.
"But I, does that mean I'm a breeder now?" Myalah asked.
"No, sweetheart, no, I told you, you never have to do that," Sam claimed.
Jacob closed his eyes, wishing the stomach acid to go back down.
"But, you don't want me," Myalah said suddenly.
"Of course we do, Myalah, or we wouldn't ask, but if you don't want to come with us, there is a family on a planet called Edora that would is willing to take you, girls," Sam claimed, giving Myalah the option although her heart broke with the words coming out of her mouth.
"So, we really get to live with you and Jack in house?" Myalah asked.
"Yes," Sam claimed.
"Will Daniel and Michelle be there too? What about T?" Myalah asked.
"No, they don't live with us, sweetheart, but they all visit a lot," Sam claimed.
"What happens when you have to come to work?" Myalah asked.
"That's a good question, don't you worry about that, okay. You girls pack up your stuff. We're taking you home." Jack claimed.
Sam looked at him, smiled, Lupali exciting, grabbed a duffle bag, and threw stuff in. Myalah was a little more careful.
"You have room for everyone?" Jacob asked.
"Well Elliott's here a few more weeks, and he's off to college. I'm thinking about turning the basement into two bedrooms, a laundry room, and a playroom." Jack stated.
"You should buy a bigger house," Jacob claimed.
"No!" Sam hissed.
"I already tried that one," Jack claimed.
Jacob smiled and looked at the two little girls who were suddenly his grandkids, and he had the same feeling he had when he met Mark's two kids.
Jacob helped Sam and Jack take the things the girls accumulated and walked into the door. Elliott was home and very confused by the fact Sam and Jack were standing in the doorway with two little girls.
"Who you?" Lupali asked.
"I'm Elliott." Elliott smiled.
"Sam and Jack told us about you!" Lupali claimed and went and hugged him.
Elliott smiled and lifted her up.
"Oh yeah? What's your name?" Elliott asked.
"Lupali." The girl claimed.
Sam bit her lip.
"Well, that's different, but it's pretty."
"We live here now," Lupali stated.
Elliott smiled.
"You can't help yourself can you?" He asked Jack.
"Nope, I guess not," Jack claimed.
"So where are they staying?" Elliott asked.
"In Cassie's room tonight, until we can figure something out," Jack claimed.
"So, are they like Cass?" Elliott asked.
Jacob's eyes widened but didn't say anything.
"You know we can't say but something like that," Jack stated.
Elliott smiled.
"I quit the book store yesterday," Elliott said suddenly.
"You did," Jack asked.
"Yeah, I only have 3 more weeks, and Mr. Ellison only had 10 hours this week and 5 next, so he told me it was up to me, and he wouldn't be upset if it was my last day," Elliott claimed.
Jack smiled.
"So how do you feel about childcare added to your resume?" Jack asked.
Elliott smiled.
"Does that mean Cass can come and help?" Elliott asked.
"I guess, I can pay the 2 of you for the next three weeks or until we find someone," Jack claimed.
Elliot smiled.
"That doesn't mean I'm condoning anything!" Jack warned.
"Didn't think you were," Elliott claimed.
Sam smiled, trusting Cassie and Elliott watching the girls.
"So anything else I should know about?" Jacob asks.
"That's all this time." Jack smiles.
The girls are quickly excited by the window in Cassie's room and look out it watching the birds and watching cars pass.
"Where's the park?" Myalah asks.
Jack smiles and points in the general direction.
"We can go tomorrow after dinner," Jack claims.
Sam calls Janet and invites her and Cassie to officially announce the girls would be staying with them.
When Janet comes, and Cassie is ecstatic about the news, Sam finally feels that everything is fitting into place. She was overly worried that Cassie would be upset by the fact that she and Jack were adopting the two girls, and they didn't adopt her, but Cassie seemed happy and was excited to be babysitting. Janet was okay with the two of them babysitting together, knowing full well they wouldn't have time to do much with a 3 and 7 year old in the way.
