Patchwork Road

Chapter summary: Clint is totally flummoxed by a tin of anchovies.
50. Anchovies
Loki was a trespassing alien stranger, then the puppet master of mindless slaves, then a defeated enemy, then a rescuee from SHIELD's medical experimentation, then a barely tolerated housemate, then a leg-saver of his former mindless slave, then a dad – or maybe mum? Mum-dad? – of a pair of twin human babies, then some sort of forced comrade in evading SHIELD that's maybe not SHIELD, while being a quirky scientist and hell of a cook, and then… this.
Clint refuses to ponder about that overly complicated entity – whose name isn't even Loki – anymore. But there's little to do and see and hear and talk about here, past all the storm of questions and demands and arguments and answers and reasons and excuses and rebuttals. So he turns his attention to the menial details that may be of use later, anyway, while Nat does all the talking, along with Darcy and Betty and Jane for support and distraction.
And then his attention is totally riveted on the Earth-style tin of anchovies – of all things! – being pried open by one sharp, sharp black fingerclaw in front of him, having been retrieved through Loki's – Loptr's? – style "poofing," by… their?… mum.
When did Laufey get the tin? Where? How? Why hasn't SHIELD heard of a blue giant roaming about in supermarkets for tins of anchovies?
