I really had to think about how I wanted Margarita to get beaten, since I already noted that each of the Sin Stand users was killed by normal humans. Disclaimer: I don't own Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Danganronpa, or the Evillious Chronicles.
Jojolion Chapter 42: Sloth of Margarita
Unlike the version of her in the story, Margarita was very much capable of sleep, but she still felt like a lazy doll nonetheless with how everyone around her seemed to use her for one purpose or another. Her life just wasn't happy, and she was too lazy to do anything to change it. This was especially true when she was married to Marquis Kaspar Blankenheim in AD 1488. He turned out to be a playboy who philandered about with other women, and Margarita just sat back and tried to convince herself she was happy. It didn't help that in her dreams Kaspar was the prefect husband.
A year later, AD 1489, she found a doll that resembled her in a toy store. The owner was willing to part with it for a small price, saying it had a special magic that could make its owner's wishes come true. Margarita bought it immediately, not knowing that this was an artifact called the Clockworker's Doll. The toy store owner was in fact a man named Acedia, a member of the same sect seeking those compatible with the artifacts, and he saw much potential in Margarita. When Margarita first started brushing the doll's hair, she unknowingly triggered a mechanism within it that sprayed out a mysterious dust cloud.
This cloud was made from the ore shavings left over from building the doll, and was filled with the virus from the Cape York meteorite. Luckily for Margarita, she had Stand potential, and the only side-effect she got was a minor coughing fit from inhaling the dust. Shortly thereafter, she noticed her husband was worn out, and she learned the reason why. He was part of a criminal organization. Now unlike the story, Margarita never became part of this organization, but she did know about it through rumor. Instead of exposing her husband and starting her life over, she turned to the power she had gained.
This power was called Never Wake Again, and while its true power wasn't so ominous, in its immature state due to Margarita's slothful personality, it could definitely live up to the name. And Kaspar became the first victim. Margarita soon learned that she could put those she wanted to sleep. Seeing her husband fall into peaceful slumber made her smile, but she didn't realize that he would never awaken from that sleep. Or that she could insure his dreams were sweet dreams. Instead she just left him like that. And she soon began to realize that she could give the same sleep to others, and began acting as a "Princess of Sleep", a figure akin to a sandman.
But while she thought she was doing good, others were terrified of the "sleeping sickness" that was spreading throughout the city. Now in the story, the whole city was decimated from the "epidemic". But the authorities in reality were much faster. Rumors of a green-haired girl visiting people and talking of their troubles before said person caught the disease was suspicious, and before long they came to investigate. Margarita, true to habit, spoke with the officers about their problems. Sensing something wrong, they tried to apprehend her then and there, but the larger officer wound up breaking Margarita's neck by accident when she tried to flee.
A bit more undignified than falling victim to her own poison, but at the same she was found out, as the officers found her journal which described her power. And how she allowed her husband, her family, and so many others to enjoy a peaceful rest. Though she clearly didn't realize what she had done, since she also wrote about wondering when they would awaken. It was concluded that Margarita was clearly delusional, and if she hadn't been killed in the process of trying to apprehend her, she likely would have gone to an asylum instead of prison. As for why she didn't think to use her Stand against the officers, it's because she didn't realize how her power truly worked, and didn't realize she could turn it on whenever she wanted to.
And she still didn't realize when she was resurrected six-hundred years later. But she had learned a little about how her Stand could be used to fight, as she was able to draw some energy from her victims' dreams to create small constructs. It was supposed to go deeper, but she felt she had all she needed. Though she was starting to regret that going up against the group of Stand users right in front of her. She fired off more and more shots from the constructs, but Ryoma just scoffed. "As far as controlling your Stand, you've still got a ways to go. Payable on Death!" He easily reflected the shots, causing Margarita to flinch when they impacted on the nearby tunnel walls.
"Damn it!," Margarita called out, "Can't they make this easy?" She fired off more shots, but Kyosuke stepped in next. "Shiroyama!" His strikes easily cut down the constructs. Mukuro was in the back, keeping everyone as awake as possible. "Mr Big!" "Wildhearts!" Gundham had his Stand move in and attack. Margarita tried to dodge, but still got her arm slashed in the process. She then heard Sonia's voice calling out, "Diamonds!" She quickly threw out a few more constructs to try and deflect Sonia's Stand. "Blast... I wish I knew how to make these constructs stronger."
Kirumi smirked as she heard that phrase. "Our plan is working. Genie in a Bottle!" Margarita felt something enter her mind. "Draw more energy from them...? But that would take time." She then remembered how many powerful foes were barreling down on her. "But it's not like what I have now is working. Come on, Margarita, dig deep!" She tried to draw on everything she could feel inside the minds of those she put to sleep. It was the hardest she had ever worked in her life. And that was the trigger she needed. As the new, stronger constructs appeared, she felt her shackle come loose as it dropped to the ground.
"Very well done," Chisa said, "But you still have a long way to go. All Star!" Chisa's joy at seeing Margarita learn enhanced All Star's power, letting it strike with ferocity as the constructs crumbled before it. Margarita went to make more, but Chisa stopped her by placing her hand on Margarita's. "I'm glad that you found the diligence to keep fight, but there's no more need. You're not Honami's slave anymore." Margarita gasped when she realized Chisa was right. "What a relief. But how am I supposed to wake everyone up now?" "Your Stand put them to sleep to begin with," Ryoma noted, "Couldn't it wake them back up?"
Margarita thought for a moment, then focused. Sure enough, all the people afflicted by her Stand awoke, many feeling better after their impromptu nap. "So all along I was holding myself back," Margarita said, "Small wonder everyone treated me like a doll. I didn't have the courage to stop them. But maybe now I can be my own person. I mean, I am still a doctor. Though is my doctorate still good in this modern century?" "I would recommend taking a crash course in medical school," Kirumi suggested, "Much has changed in the world of medicine since the 15th Century." Margarita nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good."
Honami scoffed as another of her chains returned empty, only bearing the Stand energy from Margarita. "Another has been freed?," Nemesis asked. "More like another has freed themselves," Honami clarified, "I knew it was possible, but didn't think they'd ever pull it off on their own. No... No, they didn't. Jojo and his students. They've been pushing them into freeing themselves. Quite clever, but I still benefit in the long run. How are we in reaching the hidden tower?" "Almost there," Nemesis said, "We're searching through the stations bit by bit. It hasn't been easy."
Honami smiled. In reality she was hedging her bets. She was already taking the tests at each station, so theoretically she didn't need the seven of them. But by using them, she had a greater chance of finding the book before the Hope's Peak teams. And if they caught up to any of the Sin Stand users, she could gain that same power. She hadn't tested any of them yet, but she could do so if they ever caught up to her. But for now, she was still on her way to gaining the power she sought. 'I will make this a world for me and Mahiru alone!'
I always knew that Never Wake Again would be used for the Sloth Stand, and the fact that said song is a tribute to the game Bloodborne gave me inspiration for an aspect of the Stand I hadn't yet considered when first creating it... How it was going to attack. So here's the deal on it.
Never Wake Again (Song by JT Music)
User: Margarita Blankenheim
Ability: This Stand is meant to place those in a certain radius asleep for a certain amount of time, with the user able to determine who falls asleep. Stand users take longer to affect. The user can then drain the nightmare energy of the afflicted and create monstrous constructs from them, violent and bloodthirsty, yet subservient to the user. Those affected by the Stand then wake up refreshed and revitalized. However, Margarita is so steeped in her sloth that anyone affected by her Stand falls asleep forever, though she is in control of who falls asleep. She's also unable to fully drain the nightmares from dreams, only able to draw enough for simple projectile flyers. Should Margarita find balance between sloth and diligence, she would awaken her Stand's full power. The stats below are for the Stand's true power.
Power: B
Speed: A
Range: A
Durability: B
Precision: C
Potential: B
