September 8
Today was so much fun. I've decided that since we're here we might as well have a good time and have Inuyasha experience things in this era that he never got to see three years ago.
Sota was the one who came up with our plan for today this morning at breakfast.
"What should we do today?" Sota said. He had been so excited that we were here, it's kinda cute to see. "It's gotta be something fun….I know! How about we take Inuyasha to an arcade?"
"What's that?" Inuyasha asked, his face stuffed with food.
"Ooh, that's a great idea Sota!" I said. I turned to Inuyasha. "An arcade is a place with a lot of video games. Like Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. You'll love it."
Soon after breakfast, mom handed Inuyasha something.
"What's this?" he asked.
"Some new clothes for this era," she replied with her warm smile. "I bought these for you the last time you were here but I didn't get a chance to give them to you. I hope you like them."
Inuyasha went to go put on the new clothes. A few minutes later he emerged wearing jeans, a red t-shirt, black sneakers, and the cap he used to wear when he used to come to this era.
"Ready to go?" he asked me and Sota.
Sota jumped up eagerly. I, however, nearly had to catch my breath when I saw him. I had never seen him wear clothes from this era before and he looked positively hot. "Yasha…"
Inuyasha noticed the way I was staring at him and smirked. "Yes, Kagome?"
I willed myself to stop blushing. "Nothing, I'm fine." But I most certainly was not fine. I couldn't get over how sexy Inuyasha was.
"Come on, let's go," Sota said, pushing past us to the door. He didn't notice any of that little exchange. He just wanted to get to the arcade.
I grabbed Inuyasha's hand and started to follow Sota, but Inuyasha stopped me. The way his smoldering gold eyes looked into mine made me want to melt on the spot. When he kissed me, I felt like my legs would give out.
Inuyasha snickered which made me blush even more. Then he leaned close to my ear. "You're mine tonight."
Yes, I certainly would be. The arcade didn't matter anymore. I wanted to just take him right there.
"Come on you guys!" Sota said.
All of that would have to wait. Instead, we got in the car and I drove. It felt so weird to drive! I'm surprised I even remembered how.
I know Inuyasha hates cars. He thinks they smell terrible and he didn't hesitate to complain. I turned on some music hoping to distract him.
Soon after, we arrived at the arcade. Once they went inside Inuyasha was amazed.
I'm sure he had a sensory overload. The building was full of both the electronic sounds of the games and the commotion of people bustling back and forth. On one end there were millions of bright flashing lights and noise and on the other was the overwhelming smell of food.
"Whoa…" was all he could say.
I giggled and led him inside. "This is going to be so much fun."
We went up to the front counter and got our game cards. Sota explained to Inuyasha what it was while I paid for it with the money mom had given us.
"Okay, so where should we start?" I said afterward.
"Hmm, let's start him out with something easy," Sota said. "Let's do bowling!"
So they went over to a bowling game as a good starting point. Then they played a few racing games, Pac Man, and a zombie shooting game.
We approached a Deal Or No Deal game and I pushed Inuyasha into the chair. "This one's a lot of fun!"
"It's time to play Deal Or No Deal!" the game said.
"You've gotta watch the boxes," Sota instructed. "Pay attention to the one with the highest number."
"Okay," Inuyasha replied. That sounded easy enough. At least until the boxes started shuffling really fast. "How the hell am I supposed to keep up with that?!"
Sota and I instructed him throughout the game and sometimes argued over which box he should pick and whether or not he should take the deals from the bank.
"Just take the deal!" I said. It was nearing the end of the game and a good deal had been presented. It was unlikely that our prize would be any better if not.
"No, don't listen to her!" Sota said. "That's a terrible deal!"
"Well, which is it, you guys?"
Sota and I spent some time going back and forth about it. Inuyasha just decided to hit the big red "No Deal" button much to Sota's excitement and my dismay.
But in the end, he ended up winning 200 tickets.
"Yes! Told ya, Kagome. You should listen to me more," Sota said triumphantly.
Then we approached a Guitar Hero game. Inuyasha looked at it with interest. "How do you play this?"
"It's like being in a rock band," Sota said as he put one of the guitars on.
"Usually there would be strings here but instead you press the buttons when they come up on the screen," I explained.
"Oh, it's kinda like a shamisen!" Inuyasha said.
"A little bit. Let's pick a really easy song for you."
We started out with "Hey Jude" by the Beatles. Then we went on to Paramore's "Crush Crush Crush." Inuyasha particularly liked "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park. The last song we played was "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
In the end, we played almost all of the games in the arcade and won thousands of tickets. Then it was time to pick a prize.
Inuyasha stared in amazement at everything to choose from in the prize section.
"We have 6,000 tickets so you can pick whatever you want," I said to him.
The three of us started looking around for good prizes. I wasn't looking for something for me; I was trying to find something Yasha might like. In the end, I decided on a cute Yoshi plushie then met back up with him and Sota to go to the counter.
Just as I was about to give Inuyasha the prize, he turned to me to give me a Pikachu plushie.
"Yasha, this is so sweet!" I exclaimed.
"This is really cute, honey," he said when I gave him his. He then pulled me into his arms and kissed me.
"Aren't you two adorable?" Sota said.
We looked up to see Sota holding up a phone.
"Have you been taking pictures of us this whole time?!" I said.
Sota just shrugged. "We've gotta preserve the moment. I'm hungry. I think it's about time we get lunch."
"What do they have here?" he asked as we made our way to the restaurant on the other side of the arcade.
"Lots of things," I replied. "Burgers, fries, pizza."
"Any ramen?"
I laughed. "Maybe. But if not I'll get you some ramen later."
After we ate we went back home. On the way back, Inuyasha went on and on about how cool the arcade was. He also wanted to play Smash Bros. when we got home which Sota was very excited about.
