Two weeks later, SG-1 and SG-11 were still headed to Edora, without the kids. Elliott and Cassie had been doing a great job, and after a lot of talk around the base, Jack and Sam had found that SG-8's Colonel Gates's daughter was 19 and taking online college classes. She had experience in child care settings and could stay at their home with little issue. The basement should be finished by then, and she could have a room there when she needed to stay. Elliott may come over from time to time, but when Elliott wasn't using the space, Cassie could, and there was always the pullout couch.
Sam was in the gateroom, and for the first time in a long time, she was nervous about going off-world. They had discussions of previous lovers, Laria included, especially early on, but it was so awkward now. Sam wasn't sure what to expect. She knew what Jack had told her after he and Daniel had returned. Sam believed Jack, but she wasn't sure if she believed Laria. They were only scheduled to be there on Edora until tomorrow evening. A large number of supplies went first. Then the rest of their teams. Jack grabbed Sam's hand last second as they headed through the gate together.
Everything was as Sam remembered last time. Laria had smiled widely, hugging Daniel and Teal'c and introducing herself to Robert and Michelle.
"I'm so glad you're here," Laria claimed to Sam.
Sam smiled at the woman but couldn't help but glare at her when she held Jack in her arms a little longer than anyone else.
"We have exciting news to share!" Laria claimed.
"I see you didn't bring the children. Was General Hammond, right? Are the children now yours?" Laria asked Jack and Sam.
This caused both of them to smiled.
"Yes," Jack claimed.
"I'm so happy for the two of you, so we all have something to celebrate!" Laria claimed.
Laria begins to explain that they are in the middle of their winter, but they have almost fully restored the village and have even made more homes.
"Garan's baby is now several of your months old," Laria claimed.
"Baby is healthy?" Jack asked.
"She's just perfect," Laria explained.
"Now I am waiting for my baby to arrive," Laria claimed.
"No, kidding?" Jack claimed.
Laria pulled her dress tight to show a small but visible bump.
"That's great," Jack claimed.
"You're right. There is much to celebrate," Jack claimed.
SG-1 and SG-11 had helped to unload the supplies. They walked around the grounds and were shown the newest building for guests from the earth, and they were the first to stay there.
Several villagers talked to Daniel and Jack catching up like old friends. Sam did have some testing she was asked to do. Michelle asked for volunteers for various medical tests, blood samples and asked for vegetation and descriptions of native animals.
That evening there was an enormous feast, and the alcohol that Jack and Daniel had partaken in last time was placed in front of them.
Jack tells Sam and the rest of the group to go easy. They all head the warning, no one drinking more than a glass. Laria and other villagers tell SG-1 and SG-11 various updates and news and how their supplies had helped them.
The 2 teams are happy that they are helping this village so much. There is talk about changes to the supplies, more coffee, and less clothing. A few other tweaks something that Daniel is sure can be arranged.
The group goes to the new dwelling and see there are 5 rooms. Sam and Jack share one of them.
"You okay?" Jack asked.
Sam smiled.
"Yeah, this wasn't as bad as I thought," Sam claimed.
"No, you want to go for a walk?" Jack asks.
Sam nods, and the moons light their way. Sam knows it's in the past but wonders how many times she and Laria walked the same pathway.
Jack walks her through a field, "I've wanted to show you this place since the first time I found it. It's hardly hidden, but' the view is beautiful."
Sam nods, and they walk a far distance and climb up a steep hill.
Sam sees the open sky, and it is beautiful.
"This is where I came when I needed time," Jack claimed.
"It's wonderful," Sam claimed.
"I wondered if any of the tiny specs were earth," Jack said.
"Actually, on Edora, you can't see Earth, but you can see our sun," Sam claimed.
"Really?" Jack asked.
"Yeah."
Sam got her Compass out and looked at the stars and pointed.
"One of those stars between that bright blue one and that orange dot that us," Sam claimed.
Jack smiled and kissed Sam.
"I love you," Jack claimed.
"I love you too," Sam stated.
Jack and Sam walk back to the building. Daniel is in the common area with Teal'c discussing something when Sam and Jack walk through the door.
Teal'c nor Daniel say anything as they walk into their bedroom and shut the door.
"Much warmer in here," Jack stated and started the fire in the fireplace.
Sam takes off her boots and jacket, and Jack is quickly over to her pulling off the rest of her clothes, kissing her neck and down her chest.
"Jack," Sam stated.
"I'm sorry if you're not comfortable." Jack pulls away.
"I was just going to say you're overdressed." Sam laughed.
Jack smiles and pulls at his Jacket, and Sam laughs as he tugs, and she helps him take it off.
The firelight takes control of the two of them, and though they have to stay quiet, they were talking with their eyes, and Sam can't quite believe she is on Edora having sex with Jack, and it feels different, primal something she desperately needs. When the two are finally finished, Sam knows they should get dressed, but Jack shakes his head no, and Sam pushes her body against him, and he wraps his arms around her, sleeping for a few hours until Sam wakes and feels to urge to start all over again. Jack can barely contain the moan when he enters Sam the second time. He wonders why on Edora this is different, but it strangely is, and it feels amazing. Then it hits him. It this good because Sam is here in a place where he never thought he would see her again. They were better for the lost three months, and he suddenly realized Edora might the best place in the universe.
The next morning Laria tells the group goodbye and says she expects them back in the summer, and Jack and Sam promise to make a return.
Laria holds Sam close before saying goodbye.
"He loves you greatly. Don't you forget that," Laria stated?
Sam smiled and nodded her head.
"Thank you for taking care of him," Sam claimed.
Laria didn't reply but just smiled and watched her friends go back through the gate home.
