Chapter 64 – Valley Of The Damned
The Aegis Rangers had naturally informed Mission Control that their return to base would be delayed and had received no small amount of good natured ribbing upon explaining the reasons why, though both Karone and Billy had shared the Ranger's sentiments that there was more to be gained from accepting the locals' hospitality than rejecting it with the Pink Astro Ranger citing the obvious tactical advantages of an alliance with an entire planet that was hidden from the Empires' attentions whilst the former Blue Power Ranger had simply been delighted at being involved in the official first contact with a formerly hidden civilisation and found the idea of passing up the opportunity to observe their culture to be unthinkable.
Which was how the seven of them had found themselves in the midst of a truly monumental party.
It was taking place within one of the unseen sections of the city housed within the hollowed stone of the canyon that the initial settlement had been built around, a deep and impossibly large chasm that must surely have been achieved through some magical means that seemed to be filled with the vast majority of the cities' population. The air was filled with the scent of smoke and food whilst an artificial atmosphere above the chasm was thick with unnatural storm clouds that flashed with neon-coloured lightning in time to the thumping music that seemed to vibrate through everything and came from everywhere at once yet no speakers or instruments being plaid were there to be seen, the music itself was fast-paced and upbeat, clearly an evolution of some tribal war-drums that had become simple entertainment through centuries of peace and development.
Marigold Utahima was a college student and couldn't help but draw comparisons between her current surroundings and raves she had attended.
"This place is awesome!" she cheered as Tempestus led her through the crowd, the Blue Aegis Ranger weaving deftly through crowds of intoxicated and energetically dancing aliens despite the amount of what he assumed was alcohol that both he and the Gold Ranger had consumed already; the seven of them had become separated a while ago, though had ascertained through what little of the communicator transmissions they had been able to hear over the sound of the festivities that they were all still present, accounted for and safe and Marigold and Tempestus had quickly found themselves being plied with food and drink by the locals, including several helpings of some faintly glowing liquid that had a pleasantly fruity taste but left an unmistakable burn in the throat.
"It certainly is groovy" Tempestus murmured happily as he led his friend the edge of the party where several tables were stacked high with food "But you need to eat something….you're drunk"
"I'm-" Marigold paused for a moment and was fortunately still self aware enough to realise that her friend was right and that she should probably find some water as well, though as she made to help herself to some of what was on offer she realised just how much of it was meat and quickly turned back to Tempestus "Hey….you're okay being around all this right? I know you don't eat it"
"It's okay….Fortunately that drink has done something to my sense of smell" the dark-skinned Aquitian noted with a smile, though he did turn away as Marigold began to eat; seeing human teeth work on meat and bone was something that would likely leave him nauseous for as long as he lived. The two of them fell into an easy silence for a while, both simply content to take in the spectacle of what was easily the largest single party that either of them had ever seen and the amount of magic that went into it; Tempestus music to himself that his own people would easily be capable of equalling such a feat but would likely never consider doing so as their adherence to tradition, only ever expanding themselves on pre-determined, linear paths continued them from realising both what they were truly capable and everything that the galaxy had to offer until eventually those thoughts were interrupted by Marigold's drunken snickering
"What's funny?" he asked
"I just realised how much Panthera and Kay are probably loving this….they might have actually noticed they're not the only people around and gotten their hands out of each others' clothes" the Gold Ranger laughed, the wicked grin on her lips at odds with slightly disoriented look in her eyes as the effects of whatever it was she'd been given to drink continued to make themselves known.
"We could find them?" Tempestus offered with a smile as he contemplated her statement and realised that Marigold was absolutely correct in her assertions
"Nah, let all the lovebirds have their fun" Marigold snorted drunkenly, falling silent again for a moment before adding "You were awesome out there today….That last move where you turned their own weapons on them, that was like straight out of a movie or something"
"Thank you" Tempestus beamed, the alcohol coursing through his own system causing him to respond to the praise in kind "You were impressive….you've improved so much, honestly you have no reason to doubt yourself at all"
"Ugh" Marigold let out a theatrical and overblown sigh, leaning back and wiping sweat from her brow "We're doing this….We're having a drunk 'I love you bro' moment; man getting this drunk this fast is a bad sign"
"We can do something else?" Tempestus offered
"Yeah let's" Marigold nodded, taking far longer to think of the rest of her reply than she would have liked "Come on, we're supposed to be partying with the locals; let's go get to know people better instead of just hanging around eating their food"
"Agreed" Tempestus said simply and with that the tow of them made their way into the press of bodies once more, only for Marigold to be left torn between utter shock and a fit of drunken hysterics at what occurred next. A pair of the locals, Mari realised that she still didn't know what the species called themselves who she assumed with what little information she had to work with were adolescent females sauntered over to Tempestus and began instructing him how to perform the local dances in a display that could only be described as flirtatious and overtly sexual despite whatever gap existed between their cultures; it seemed that whilst Furrous had gone without the need of warriors for generations the knowledge that the Power Rangers had been capable of holding a tide of enemies at bay with ease to rescue them had left the locals very enamoured and it was only a short while before a blushing and flustered Tempestus was being led away to somewhere more private with Marigold simply tapping her communicator to indicate that she would be available if she was needed for anything.
Thus left alone, tipsy and not in possession of quite all of her faculties Marigold allowed herself to lose herself in the music as she privately wondered if she could find where it was coming from and start a round of karaoke.
Panthera and Kay were, exactly as Marigold had predicted thoroughly enjoying the celebrations though not quite enough to be entirely distracted from one another; something that the Pink Ranger would not blame herself for or make any effort to correct as she took in her lovers' current appearance. Kay, using the reasoning that their attire beneath their Ranger armour was not at all suitable for the occasion had managed to procure some of the clothing favoured by the locals and was currently sporting an outfit for more feminine that their usual, something loose and flowing with a crown of various green flowers in shades from pale pastels to harsh and eye-burning resting in their spiked hair whilst their face was covered in the same vibrant make up that many of the natives had donned, their leathery black skin was unsuited to dull tones and so they wore stark and eye-catching colours which Kay had mimicked with the addition of winged eyeliner that Panthera was certain many human women would be jealous of framing their pink and black eyes.
"Okay, you're pretty we get it" Panthera chuckled, her golden eyes rolling as Kay made their way back over to her after being offered a sample of something, their love of life and everything it had to offer and their unquenchable eagerness to make up for time and experiences that had been lost by the artificial ageing of their creation displaying itself, as it often did as barely constrained gluttony; something which neither Kay or Panthera were willing to attribute to the Acheron side of the Green Ranger compelling them to consume.
"That I am" Kay countered with their usual cocky smirk and mischievous gleam in their eyes as they sauntered over, looping an arm around Panthera's waist and leaning close to whisper in her ear
"And you look absolutely amazing"
"I look the same as I always do" Panthera snorted, gesturing to the clothes that she had been wearing prior to the Ranger's deployment; a simple and practical outfit for working on Justin's new teleportation system with much of her customary gaudy jewellery absent
"Exactly" Kay beamed simply, being treated to a playful swat on the shoulder and a swift series of kisses along the jaw in response
"Flattery will get you things" she purred in their ear, hoping to turn the tables and be the one to leave her partner mildly flustered
"I thought it was my pretty face that got me things….and what I can do with-"
"Are we really doing this here?" Panthera noted, firm enough to halt that train of though where it was and stop Kay from testing her resolve, which the particularly wicked and flirtatious grin on their face made it very clear they were preparing to enjoy.
"Are you drunk?" Panthera asked with a bemused sigh "Can you even get drunk?"
"Not really, I have tried….my body filters it out before I can get more than a little buzz" Kay admitted with a sigh "Although the bright orange drink is definitely one I'd recommend and I did work in a bar"
"For what a day or two?" Panthera countered "And you're lucky….hangovers are not an experience you want" Kay merely rolled their eyes at that before taking her hands gently and stepping backwards, tugging at her just enough to make it clear that they wanted her to join them on the dance floor which was currently filled with what must have been a thousand or more people, most of whom were far larger than Panthera and whilst Kay may have rivalled some of them in height they were utterly dwarfed in sheer mass.
"Now are we going to celebrate are you going to skulk around in corners all night" Kay noted with a teasing pout "This isn't one of the dive bars on Promethea One"
"No but some of us don't get to laser our opponents from long range and actually have to fight" Panthera teased back, allowing herself to be led out before casually sweeping Kay from their feet and dipping them in a manoeuvrer that was dramatic but not quite suitable for the music being played at that moment
"I'm tired and things ache" she continued, twirling Kay around with ease that defied her complaints "And I made enough mistakes in these kind of parties in the husk stars during the colonists' mating season"
"You'll have to take me there and show me sometime" Kay noted with mild amusement before retaking control of the dance "But if you're tired I have an idea….I saw this on television back on Promethea One" and before Panthera could question Kay took the lead, the two of them dancing in half time and in a way that was perhaps even less fitting for their surroundings that would be recognised by awkward school children at their first dance together in several Human cultures, one that Panthera was vaguely familiar with due to the time she had spent around such humans
"Junior high slow dance?" she snorted before burying her face in Kay's neck, nuzzling into them as she added "What nonsense were you watching?" Rather than answer Kay merely grinned and, without pausing allowed their magic to crackle and flare in the air around them before racing up towards the artificial atmosphere that hung above the chasm that served as the venue for the celebrations, turning the clouds various shades of green and pink in a casual display of arcane power that drew several surprised and impressed exclamations from those around them until finally one of the natives dared to intrude upon the moment the two Power Rangers were sharing directly.
"So you are the mage among your team, the one the City Guard spoke of?" Kay and Panthera both halted and turned their attention towards a truly ancient looking native of Furrous, an almost skeletal thing whose ebony skin had a papery appearance where it wasn't covered by silvery fur and whose posture was crooked and bowed though the light in their eyes had not dimmed at all.
"I suppose I am" Kay answered simply, bracing themselves instinctively as they felt in the magical energies swirling in the air around this newcomer
"Good good" the elderly alien beamed happily, revealing blunted fangs "I wished to offer you the flower"
"The flower?" Kay asked, cocking their head quizzically; the ancient alien responded by producing a plant from seemingly nowhere whose leaves were a pale mint green in colour whilst its' petals had a translucent and crystalline appearance with the faintest purple hue
"So drugs" Panthera noted dispassionately, falling silent as she realised the severity of the cultural offence that she might cause
"Nothing so….base" the alien, clearly some manner of shaman snorted "No, no….the flower is a gift, it grows only in the hardest to find places on Furrous and only those who have undergone trials may take it; I think it fair to say that you have earned the right, eat it and it will unlock your full potential"
"My magic?"
"Amongst other things" Kay paused and gave serious consideration to the idea, with their Grandfather currently in a deep coma after expending much of his own magic it was fair to say that the Alliance needed another powerful sorcerer amongst its' ranks but eventually some semblance of inhibitions took hold and Kay shook their head
"Thank you, but no" they murmured "I'd like to develop my magic on my own and experience the journey for myself"
"A true practitioner and artist" the shaman gave a wheezing laugh and an approving smile followed by a solemn nod "Very well, go in peace then Power Ranger, curious though that the one who face the invaders' leader alone chose to consume the flower"
"What?" Panthera asked, more harshly than she intended to which the shaman answered simply
"Your leader, the one whose hair was stained red….she was most eager"
Mercy stared at the flower in her hands with intent and trepidation written on every line of her face in equal measure.
Her breaths came slow and measured, a deliberate attempt to force some sense of control over herself despite the alcohol and adrenaline rushing through her which crashed and blurred into the frantic buzz of emotions that came with the end of every battle as she tried to make sense of everything that had occurred and find any and every possible way she could have done more, yet despite these efforts to master herself and assert control her hands trembled and the flower she had been given by the ancient and leathery shaman danced in the light, its' crystalline surface casting a dizzying and ever-changing glow onto her face as it reflected the swirling lights above her.
"This is not a step you should take if you're uncertain….even the slightest doubts" Mercy turned her gaze away from the flower and towards Aslaug, searching her low and gruff voice for any sign of accusation or judgement but finding only concern. The two of them had made their way towards a secluded and unoccupied area of the vast, deep chasm that the celebrations were taking place in; hidden behind a small outcropping of rock that had almost certainly been left where it was for the sake of privacy where Mercy had prepared to work up the mental fortitude to ingest the plant that promised to unlock her potential despite everything she had ever been taught about taking drugs from strangers at parties screaming at her from the back of her mind whilst Aslaug watched on with silent worry clear to see in her icy blue eyes.
"You think I shouldn't?" Mercy asked, knowing what her partner was driving it even if it went unsaid.
"I think that you should be careful" Aslaug murmured as she moved closer to where Mercy had perched herself on the rocky outcropping and placed a hand on her shoulder "This is not the only world where such plants grow and that shaman is far from the first I've seen peddling their wares"
"They have stuff like this on Mirinoi? Have you ever tried it?"
"Some of the tribes do, including my own….there are rituals around its' use, usually before a major battle, not something we would sell or trade with colonists from Earth" Aslaug explained "I haven't myself, I am my Father's heir and was entrusted to lead people in his stead which meant I needed my mind to be clear and focused….I've seen warriors think they're Gods after eating fire-root, I've seen them fall in battle not an hour later and learn that they were still not invincible"
"Oh...I'm so sorry" Mercy mouthed out, Aslaug's tone alone making it painfully clear that those whose ends she had witnessed were people who had meant a lot to her.
"It has turned the tide at crucial moments" Aslaug noted, shaking her head and sighing as she added "Take the shaman's flower if it's what you truly want, but be certain of yourself"
"I-" Mercy's words trailed off and died on her tongue, her intended promise of certainty an obvious lie "I'm not gonna rush off and do something stupid, I want to use this so I can unlock my Battleizer"
"The weapon, or armour that Justin gave you" Aslaug nodded towards the additional plate of red that had been affixed to Mercy's wrist-mounted Morpher
"That I still haven't been able to use….until today" Mercy sighed, anger and frustration seeping into her voice as she continued through clenched teeth "Damn it I almost had it, a couple more seconds and I would have done it but then Mari shot the pirate in the arm and won the fight for me….I'm not mad at her, I promise I'm not and I know I sounds stupid and that the job is bigger than me but I was so close"
"I don't think you're stupid" Aslaug assured her, cupping her cheeks gently "I think you're brave, I think you're self-sacrificing, I think you're determined to do absolutely anything in your power to save people and I think that all of those things are making you desperate enough to consider things that you normally wouldn't"
"I….you're right I guess" Mercy muttered, mildly annoyed at how much sense Aslaug was making and how much the words resonated with her own doubts "But maybe considering new options is what we have to do"
"That's how we grow" Aslaug agreed before countering "But this isn't growth, this is a shortcut….If you're so close to victory on your own terms then why cheapen it now? I've never doubted for a moment that you would be able to unlock the secrets of that device and neither did Justin, or he simply wouldn't have given it to you"
"So, just to be clear you are against me eating this flower?"
"Yes" Aslaug admitted, seeing no reason to hide her opinions "Because I think you are perfectly capable of achieving any goal you set your mind to without any temporary outside help and you've continued to prove me right with every challenge we face" Aslaug had expected some disappointment, maybe even resentment or betrayal from her partner, she had not however expected Mercy to practically throw herself at the taller young woman and wrap her arms around Aslaug in a crushing hug, with Mercy's feet dangling loosely in the air as she clung to her
"You really are great y'know that right?" Mercy sniffled, the mix of emotions brewing within her finally spilling over alcohol-weakened defences and manifesting themselves as tears "You really are the best and I love you so much and….Okay seriously, do I even weight anything to you?"
"It's like holding a few grapes" Aslaug answered her, unable to keep a slight smirk of pride at her own strength from tugging at her lips as she glanced down at Mercy who, being almost an entire foot shorter continued to dangle from the Yellow Ranger's shoulders whilst Aslaug herself seemed entirely unbothered by her weight; In response Mercy merely buried her face in Aslaug's neck for a few seconds, composing herself before releasing her grasp and hopping gracefully down to the ground where she wiped her eyes and set the flower that the shaman had given her down gently, unwilling to cause any unintentional disrespect by discarding it carelessly.
"So it's decided?" Aslaug asked cautiously
"Yeah….you're right; I can do this" Mercy nodded before lacing her fingers through the larger woman's "Now come on, let's actually go and enjoy this party"
"It would be rude not to" Aslaug chortled as she allowed herself to be led away.
Rensa had found the storm of lights, press of bodies and endless cacophony of the party in the chasm to be far more than he could handle in his current state; his nerve were less jolted and rattled after the battle than many of the other Rangers simply due to his comfort with violence though using his Battleizer for even a short while took a toll on his body and left aching and tired and unwilling to deal with what the people of Furrous called a celebration
So instead he had left.
The Black Ranger had made his way out of the chasm and through the artificial atmosphere filled with shifting clouds and lightning of every possible colour, the beauty of which he would have stopped to appreciate under other circumstances; stopping to contact his fellow Rangers and let them know that he had left before retreating roughly they way they had come and scuttling through the caverns and hallways of the hidden parts of the city before making his way out onto a plateau carved into the rock face of the canyon from which he was greeted with another, equally impressive and far quiet view. The spires and towers of the city, Rensa knew intellectually were simply homes and businesses as they would be on any other world yet he had found such skylines beautiful since his first night on Promethea One and the unique architecture on display here was granted a mysterious appearance by the gentle, pulsing lights of orange, green and electric blue that shone from within them whilst high above the canyon the starlight was diffused and blurred by the magical field that surrounded Furrous and hid the planet from view whilst its' two moons, presumably moves and hidden along with the planet itself hung overhead like enormous peering eyes; despite being back in Empire Space Rensa was amazed at how different everything was to his home-world of Dread and appreciated the difference greatly.
Until the sound of giggling below him caught his attention.
Seeking out the source of the noise Rensa soon found a small group of local children staring up at him from another artificial plateau, small things who seemed to have a long wait before they would grow into the powerful, muscle-bound bodies that the adults of their species boasted and whose bodies were covered almost entirely by thick, soft and downy fur that ranged in colour from dark blue to fiery orange; seeing the children unattended and specifically they stared at him in wide-eyed wonder, with more than a little fear was enough reason for Rensa to leap from his own plateau down to theirs, scuttling along the edge of the canyon for several feet in a display that he realised a moment too late would likely unsettle them.
"Isn't it time you children were asleep….And where are your parents?"
"We don't sleep when there's a celebration" one of the children, the one with orange fur gasped, as if affronted by the idea "How come you're not there, you're one of the Power Rangers that saved us, you must be….Nobody else on Furrous looks like you"
"What's your name?" Rensa asked with a smile that displayed their too-sharp teeth, children were not so needlessly inquisitive on Dread; an understandable thing considering what lurked in the darkness and the unknown but the naked bravery of these youngsters was a welcome change from the double takes that the Black Ranger had been treated to by much of humanity as they realised that despite appearances he was something else entirely.
"Co-Purr" the child answered, suddenly hesitant
"Well Co-Purr….The party was a little too bright and noisy for me-"
"What happened to your eyes, are they….broken?" another child demanded, being promptly shushed for their insensitivity though to Rensa it was understandable
"Not broken" he explained happily, taking a moment to find the words to explain without scaring the children "But I come from a world where the sky is always dark, no sun, no moon and no stars; I have to wear lenses over my eyes so that they don't burn in the light and sometimes it becomes a little too much for me"
"Are your eyes really that colour?" Co-Purr asked, seemingly in awe as they gazed at the bottomless black of Rensa's eyes, so different to fiery glow that they were used to
"Look at his fur, it's so smooth and shiny" another child whispered pointing at Rensa's long and glossy black hair, specifically the tips which had been dyed a dark green by the chemicals in the air of his home-world.
"Do you fight pirates all the time?" another child asked and Rensa struggled not to let out a sigh, it had been obvious that he would be asked about his life as a Power Ranger eventually but knowing the peace that Furrous had enjoyed for generations he found no way of explaining to them the violence that was part of his daily life.
He was spared having to answer by a much greater problem presenting itself.
"Is that a comet?" one of the children asked and Rensa turned, following their rapt gazes only for his own eyes to widen and then narrow whilst a primal, guttural hiss escaped him as he quickly realised that the enormous mass wreathed in flames that they had seen was no comet and had already breached the planets' atmosphere.
"Children" he snarled out, his usually gentle voice urgent now "Run, go to the chasm and tell all of your people to run and hide….it's not safe here"
The feat had almost killed him but Carnifex had been successful.
The Acheron Hybrid, through sheer force of will and magical might had taken direct command of the Draco-Ocidendum and brought the monstrous vessel tearing through the gulf of space to finally arrive at an unremarkable star system, one with four visible planets that were devoid of both life and any valuable resources for the Empire to consume and control, yet it was here, in the vast stellar emptiness between planets that the tracking beacons hidden with the relics that the people of Furrous used to return to their home-world had led him to and Carnifex knew that somewhere in the darkness beyond, invisible and cloaked in a veil or arcane power was the planet Furrous and the ancient artefact its' people had produced that would allow Lord Zedd to conquer the Alliance once and for all and reign supreme and unchallenged throughout the galaxy.
It was at this point that the draconian warlord had risen from the throne of his Command Bridge, blood dripping from his maw, snout and behind his eyes after such intense exertion, his body sluggish and trembling and the ports in his mechanical arms shuddering and grinding as they closed after being interfaced with the ship itself before he proceeded to the next step of his plans.
The capture and killing of those few crew members who had survived his massacre.
He had known all along that a few bands of slaves, serfs and terrified, broken warriors had managed to avoid being poisoned, sucked out of an airlock or simply choked by a sudden lack of air within the ships' bowels yet Carnifex had thus far refrained from seeking them out himself or wasting what few Putties he still had at his disposal; they would eventually starve to death after all and Carnifex himself would be free to feed on them at his leisure of the situation became truly dire but now the situation had changed and their deaths would serve more purpose to the Empire than their continued existence. He hunted them down, dragging each group of screaming and terrified victims to the temples and shrines within the Draco-Ocidendum in turn, daubing the walls and floors with their blood in preparation for what was to come; breaching the magical defences around Furrous would require a magical countermeasure of the darkest and most abhorrent nature, the kind of magic that required the violent sacrifice of the living.
Carnifex had made those sacrifices willingly and without hesitation.
From there it had been a simple matter of readying each and every Putty at his disposal, many of them already damaged or warped into grotesque and deformed parodies of what the stone automatons should have been by the horrors involved in keeping the dying husk of the Draco-Ocidendum functional for just a few more hours at a time yet it was abundantly clear that this meagre and pitiful forces would have to be enough, there was simply no other option.
With his forces, such as they were gathered, his dreadful magical battering ram at the ready and his enemy if not truly within sight then at least within his grasp Carnifex had returned once more to the Command Bridge and used what little failing gasps of power remained within his once beloved warship to bring the vessels' AI back to life so that he might give one last order as a proper leader rather than scurrying about like a squire or subject. He had no weapons left to fire and there was only one option left available to him if he wished to break the magical shielding of the unseen planet, with that in mind Carnifex rose to his full, menacing height and delivered the last orders that would ever give aboard this Command Bridge in clipped and cultured tones despite the fact that there was nobody here to hear him
"Computer, average the distance between each of the beacons' locations and set coordinates" his fiery golden eyes shone with unhinged fury and the unflinching conviction of a madman as he added "Give me ramming speed"
And then with a sudden lurching accompanied the groans and shrieks of protest from the hull and structure of the vessel, the Draco-Ocidendum hurtled forwards, wreathed in flames as it breached the planets' atmosphere and the city instantly became visible far below as Carnifex braced himself for the inevitable collision that would destroy everything in his path.
He would carve this city from the ground it stood on and dig the artefacts Lord Zedd desired from the rubble.
Author's Notes:
So, I'm writing this on the 20th of December but I think it will actually be the last chapter I post of 2020 so Happy New Year everyone.
Here's to 2021 being better for us all.
So we're now halfway through Arc 15.
I know this was a slow chapter, almost a filler one but as you can see it set up the back half of this arc; from here we're rapidly gonna be moving into the endgame….So get ready.
That being said, let's summarise shall we?:
Raves, a galactic constant.
Of course Mari's been to some raves; she's the team mum but she's still a student and Leslie Colony was basically a big cyberpunk city.
Water and carbs are your friends, drink responsibly.
If you're having drunk "I love you bro" speeches before the after party then you're too drunk and need to slow down.
Tempestus doesn't find humans attractive but he'll leave with the green alien chick at a house party or sign up to be the filling in a Goldar sandwich.
Kay is non-binary and I felt like reminding everyone of that and letting them experiment with a more femme look.
It makes sense that Kay can't really get drunk, rapid healing has its' downsides.
Of course Kay pulled out the junior prom/school disco slow dance and magical strobe lights.
Kay wants to experience everything, of course they don't want to take shortcuts to getting stronger.
Mercy on the other hand, with where she's at mentally it makes perfect sense that she'd consider it.
Aslaug makes a fair point, it's basically steroids and if you've ever seen someone on steroids; they're a lot more aggressive….but not really any better at fighting.
Get you a partner like Aslaug.
Like holding a few grapes….Yes I went with a reference.
Let's be honest that party isn't somewhere Rensa would hang out, but also it was plot convenience to get him outside.
Co-Purr….I'm not sorry for that pun, not even slightly.
Also Rensa being good with kids, or at least these kids was nice.
I'm sure you all guessed what was happening the second you realised it wasn't a comet.
So let's just take a moment to appreciate how utterly insane Carnifex has gone at this point.
Like, there's nothing really to add; just bask in the fact that he got his ship there and turned it into a dark magic powered missile that he's firing at the city, despite the fact that he's still on board.
Thank you to Blue Legends for their review on the last chapter.
As always thank you to everyone that reads this, with a special thanks to those of you that follow, favourite and review
