"Next time your sister visits, tell her to call me." Ana told Jack as she wrote down her cell phone number on a piece of paper and passed it to Jack. "Honestly, I'd be glad with the company while Christian is working, plus having a new friend wouldn't hurt." She smiled to him before getting to her feet. "I'm sorry we have to leave so soon."
Jack smiled as he looked to the young family. "Don't be." Taking the paper, he smiled. "I'll tell her to call you straight away. I know she wants to thank you both for your help with my treatment."
Ana smiled and nodded. "And as soon as you're allowed out and about, we can go for lunch or a walk. Get you up and about."
Jack chuckled. "You sound like my therapist." He smiled genuinely to her. "Thank you. The both of you…seeing you and Teddy here safe and well…it takes a load of my mind. Deep down I never stopped worrying about you. Never stopping praying that you did get somewhere safe and out of the clutches of that monster."
"It's thanks to you they did." Christian told him. "You have no idea how grateful I am. I am forever in your debt." He told him before he looked down to Teddy in his arms who was getting fussier by the minute.
"You guys go. That little guy needs your attention. I promise I'll get Erin to ring you when she comes by and as soon as I'm allowed out you will be the first to know." He promised with a smile.
Ana smiled and nodded. "Okay." She looked to Teddy and Christian. "You going to carry him or put him in his stroller?"
"I'll just carry him. He's wriggling too much." He chuckled before he smiled to Jack. "See you soon." He told him before he left the room with Ana and a winging Teddy. "I think someone is tired." He mused down to Teddy before bringing him up more to try and get him to cuddle in. Looking to Ana as she pushed the stroller next to him, he smiled. "You okay?"
Ana nodded as she smiled to Christian. "It feels like a great weight has been lifted." She told him honestly. She never really understood how much this moment was worrying her until she was physically in the room and seeing how Jack actually was. "I honestly thought he was either not going to remember anything or remember everything and hate me."
"Baby I don't think he could ever hate you." He told her. "He didn't have to try and save you. He could have just gone along with Morton but he didn't. He saved you both." He told her softly.
"I guess." She shrugged a little before looking to Luke as they reached the reception area. "Where's Taylor?" She asked with a slight frown.
"Something came up with Sophie. He won't be long." Christian told her with a small smile. God, he hated lying to her but at the same time he didn't want her worrying until they had actually caught Morton, which knowing Taylor wouldn't be much longer.
"Oh, I hope she's okay…"
"I'll call him when we get home to check in." He promised as he kissed her head and made their way to the SUV's, giving Luke a small nod as he did. As Sawyer collapsed the stroller and put it in the trunk, Christian managed to get a squirming Teddy into his car seat. "He's getting so strong." Christian grumbled clipping him in.
Ana chuckled getting in beside Teddy. "You think that was bad, wait until he headbutts you as he kicks off!" Shaking her head, she grabbed his bag and pulled out an already made formula bottle and poured into Teddy's bottle before handing it to the fussy baby. As he happily took it and began drinking it, Ana smiled to herself as she relaxed back slightly, keeping her eyes on him.
As they arrived home, Teddy was on the brink of sleep. Climbing out of the car she took him out of his car seat and held him close as gently rubbed his back to sooth him, making their way to the elevator, Ana stood in the corner as Christian and Sawyer entered the elevator with her.
Kissing Ana's head, Christian stayed close to her as the elevator made its way up to the penthouse. His anxiety was rising by each passing moment. He needed to know what was happening with Morton and at the same time he didn't want Ana to be mad at him for lying. As the elevator opened, Christian guided Ana and now a sleeping Teddy inside.
"I'm going to put him down for a nap." Ana told Christian as she headed to Teddy's room. Gently laying him down in his crib she watched him for a few minutes before she then headed back out to Christian who was in the kitchen typing away on his phone at a rapid speed. She knew something was wrong. She could sense it off him. "What's wrong?" She asked looking to him as she took a seat at the breakfast bar and looked over to him.
Looking up as he heard Ana, he looked to her. "What makes you think something is wrong?" He asked looking to her.
"Because I know you?" She laughed looking to him before sighing. "The anxiety is radiating off you…what is going on? You know you can tell me anything."
Christian looked to her before sighing. "I lied to you."
Ana frowned at him confused. "About what?"
"Taylor didn't leave because something has come up with Sophie." He took a breath. "I had a call from Elliot…he was driving…and ended up driving behind Morton…he was following him. Taylor went to go and back him up."
Ana's face paled hearing Morton's name. "He's here in Seattle?" She whispered before swallowing. She felt physically sick. "Why did you lie?" She asked looking to him.
"Because you seemed so relaxed after we left Jack…I didn't want you to worry and didn't want to bring you down…I thought it would be better to tell you when we had more information and when we were in the safety of our own home…"
"Has Taylor got him?" She then asked looking to him. While she wasn't happy that Christian had lied to her, she did understand why he did. This was their sacred place. Somewhere she instantly felt safe and knew Morton had no chance of getting in this place.
Christian gave a little nod. "Taylor…he urm…run him off the road." He told her a little sheepishly considering he was on the one who told him to do it. "Taylor and Elliot will take him to a secluded place…"
"Why?" Ana instantly asked. "Why not call the cops?"
"Because that is not part of the plan." Came Ray's voice as he entered the apartment.
Looking to her father she frowned. "Dad…what are you doing here? And what plan?" She asked suddenly feeling singled out of not knowing what was going on.
"I was coming to see you anyway but then I got the update on Morton…" He sighed. "We've had a plan in place for a while." He told her honestly. "While Morton will eventually be handed over to the authorities…I have a few things I need to discuss with him."
Ana looked to her father. "I'd rather you didn't…"
"Annie…not only did he kill your mother but he took you away from you. He plotted to take you away from me and I'm not going to let him get away with it. After what he did to you and Teddy…I won't let him go unpunished."
"Prison is punishment dad…" Ana told him with a sigh.
"It's not enough." Ray simply told her. "I need closure…I need to tell that slimy piece of shit exactly what I think of him."
"Nothing I say will make you change your mind will it?" Ana asked looking to him.
"No. And I know it's not just me who will be having words with him. You are surrounded by so many people who love you Ana…we won't let this go easily. We just can't."
Ana glanced to Christian before she looked back to her father before she got to her feet. "Then you do what needs to be done today. I don't want this lingering for the next however many days. You deal with him today and then you get rid of him." She simply told them as she looked to the pair of them before heading in the direction of the library.
"I'll go." Ray told Christian seeing he was about to follow her. Following her down into the library he saw her curled up on the beanbag in the corner staring out of the window. Sitting down on the beanbag next to her. "Talk to me kiddo."
"There's nothing to say." Ana whispered keeping her eyes locked on the window.
"I know that's not true. Let's forget Morton for a second…what's bothering you? Christian says you're not sleeping."
"It's nothing." She snapped slightly.
"Tone young lady." He scolded before sighing. "But considering your reaction just now, I'm going to say it's something."
"Sorry." Ana sighed before shrugging. "I just get a bit anxious sometimes. No biggy."
"Have you considered talking to someone?"
"I don't need to talk to someone dad."
"I beg to differ." He sighed. "Look Annie… I know you are a grown woman and a mother now…which is why I am saying this. You do need to talk to someone. You went through something traumatic Ana and it's clearly now affecting your daily life. You have Teddy to think about. How can you look after him when your anxiety is at an all-time high?" He asked softly to her. "I really think you should make an appointment with John Flynn…"
"I don't need a shrink dad…"
"Yes, you do." He told her. "Annie I'm saying this because I love you. If you won't make an appointment with him then I'll do it for you." He told her firmly. "Morton has already taken so much from all of us. I won't let him take away your sanity."
"You're talking like I'm crazy."
"Oh honey of course I don't think that…I just hate seeing you like this. You look exhausted all the time…I'm concerned about you."
Blinking back the tears Ana just gave a little nod before she looked back out to the window. "Just get rid of Morton first." She mumbled not taking her eyes off the view in front of her.
"I don't want to leave you when you are like this…"
"I'll be fine." She told him with a shrug. "Gail's here. Just go do what you got to do."
Ray sighed as he looked to her. "We won't be long." He promised looking to her.
Ana just gave a nod before she looked up as she heard the door opened and Christian came in with a freshly awake Teddy.
"Someone decided to fill their nappy." Christian pulled a face at his son before smiling to Ana. "But he's all nice and clean now." He smiled heading over to her.
Ana smiled to Christian and Teddy before taking Teddy as he held out his hands for her. Kissing his head, she smiled as he cuddled into her slightly. Looking to Christian and her dad she sighed. "You two better get going." She told them. "The sooner you go the sooner you'll be back." Running her fingers through Teddy's little curls she relaxed on the beanbag and glanced back out of the window.
Bending down next to Ana, Christian looked to her. "I'll stay here if you want."
Ana looked to him and shook her head. "No. You go. I know you want to confront him. We will be here." She promised.
Christian sighed as he leant in and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "I'll be back as soon as I can." He whispered before looking to her. "Gail's in the kitchen if you need anything and Sawyer is in the security office."
"Like he'd be anywhere else." Ana mused to him.
Christian chuckled before blowing a raspberry on Teddy's cheek. "Behave for your mother." He told him before kissing Ana's head again. "I love you."
"I love you too."
Getting to his feet he then looked to Ray who gave him a little nod before he smiled to Ana. "I'll be back before you know it." He told her before he then left the library and followed Ray out. "Let's get this over with." Christian mumbled as they headed to the elevator. Stopping in the kitchen he looked Gail. "Gail would you be able to keep an eye on Ana for me?"
Gail smiled and nodded. "Certainly, Mr Grey. Any problems and I shall call you." She promised him. She knew how much everyone was worrying about Ana right now. She just wasn't herself.
"Thank you." He smiled before heading into the waiting elevator. The moment he had waited a very long time for was finally happening. Morton was going to be at their mercy and he wasn't going to be getting off lightly under any circumstances. Hell he even wondered if Ray would even let him live after everything, he knew he didn't want that scumbag breathing the same air as the two most precious people in the world to him. It wouldn't surprise him if Morton simply...disappeared. Though if Ray wasn't going to make him disappear. He would.
As Christian and her dad left, Ana then looked down to Teddy who was happily playing with her necklace. Kissing his head, she just held onto him tightly as her eyes went back to the view. She felt so…anxious right now but she really didn't want Teddy to pick up on it. From finding out about Morton to her dad wanting her to see a shrink…she was a bag of emotions right now and she didn't know how to really handle all these emotions…maybe her dad did have a point. Maybe she did need professional help. Sighing to herself she looked back to Teddy who smiled at her and babbled. She had to get better, for him. For her family. She didn't want Morton to invade her mind anymore. He was officially going to be a thing of the past.
