Today was moving day, everyone was helping Clay and Nicole move. Nicole, Naima, and Megan stayed at the new house and helped Nicole unpack everything and organize as much as they could. Nicole couldn't focus 100% with a cranky baby on her chest so she was thankful for everyone that could help.
"They're coming through with the changing table." Ray said and held the door open waiting.
"Oh good! I need her diaper rash cream." Nicole said and moved a trash bag of pillows out of the way as they started coming through the front door.
"Watch the step Sonny." Clay told him coming in backwards with the one end of the changing table in arms.
"Oh did you guys put the stuff that was in it somewhere else?" Nicole asked when she saw it was empty.
"Yeah it's in a box at the apartment yet." Clay told her as they started up the steps.
"Ugh I needed something on it." Nicole said sighing.
"I'll make sure I grab that box on the next load over." Ray told her.
"Thank you." She replied and watched them slowly almost reach the top of the steps.
"Do you have vaseline? That's what I used sometime if it was bad." Naima asked.
"Oh I don't know, maybe? She's definitely uncomfortable, it's her teeth for sure, she's pretty red." Nicole said.
"Yeah sounds about right." Naima replied and then Nicole went to look in the boxes for the bathroom. The guys emptied the truck and then Clay was looking for Nicole before he left again for another load.
"Nic? Did you need something babe?" Clay asked. She was finishing up changing Teagans diaper on the bare mattress in the master bedroom.
"Yeah but I told Ray so it's fine." Nicole said and scooped Teagan back into her arms, she was fussy. She laid her head on Nicole's chest and whined.
"Oh well what is it?" Clay wondered.
"Her diaper cream, she's really red is all." She told him.
"Ohh sorry T..." Clay bend over to see her little face, upset. He rubbed her little back.
"She's tired too." Nicole said and bounced her up and down.
"Yeah...daddy is too." He told her.
"Is it all almost all out?" She asked.
"Yeah, I mean it's just the table, chairs, coffee table, boxes, our dresser..." he rambled off.
"Well good." She said. He kissed her and went back out to get back to work.
——
Around 7:30 they had most of the house in order, and everyone was hungry. Jason had picked up a couple pizzas and they all took a break.
When they were done, everyone had left. Nicole made their bed while Clay got Teagan asleep in her room. After she sat up in bed for 10 minutes on her phone she went in to see Clay asleep in the rocking chair with Teagan also asleep.
"Honey." She shook his shoulder softly so she wouldn't scare him. His eyes shot open, he looked around getting his bearings.
"What time is it?" He whispered and got up to lay the baby down.
"9." Nicole laughed at him thinking it was way later.
"Oh geez." He laughed at himself and followed her out of the room to their bedroom. They got into bed and snuggled up together, finally relaxing after a longgg busy day.
——
Clay woke up sweating, it was so hot, Nicole was laying on his chest, her hair was stuck to his neck and armpit. He whipped the covers off and went to the bathroom.
"What the hell..." he said to himself. He looked for something he could wipe himself down with and settled for one of Teagans washcloths. He left the bedroom and went to the thermostat. Nicole woke up from him turning the hall light on.
"Clay?" She was wondering what he was doing.
"75!?" He said in shock when he read it.
"Nicole 75!? No." Clay said and laid back in bed.
"Clay it's cold outside for one, It was freezing with the door basically open all day from moving everything in, and Teagans room was cold!" She told him.
"Okay well she's above the garage, it'll warm up, don't set it above like 69." He told her.
"Why 69? Is that like your favorite number?" She asked smirking.
"Ha no...it's just a good number." Clay said laughing at the dirty joke. He laid down to go back to sleep.
"But it's not your favorite number?" Nicole wondered and got closer.
"Is this a trick question?" He asked and turned to face her.
"I don't know, is it?" She asked. He couldn't help but kiss her.
"Maybe we should christen the house right now instead of waiting." Clay suggested.
"Ugh I'm not really in the mood." Nicole said.
"I can get you in the mood." Clay said flirtatiously and got on top of her.
"Yeah? Try me..." she flirted followed by a deep kiss.

Fun chapter of them moving into their first home! Of course comes with bickering and stress but it's all done with love in the end. I think every married couple has the argument about the temperature in the house at least a couple times a year, it wouldn't be a healthy relationship without at least one! Leave your reviews, you'll never understand how much they make my day!
