The dragons listened to the pilots and the villagers as they explained why they attacked them. The already had an idea when they saw the children, but didn't stop them from telling everything.

"Our children were captured by the Rhynocs while we were taking care of the farm," the tallest of the humanoid pig began, "When we came back, they were in the middle of the village and they told us that we have to eliminate intruders in the name of The Sorceress. If we didn't… they would hurt them," he glanced at the children.

It was obvious he wouldn't say the real words.

"Are they more around here?" Titan asked as he tapped his arms.

"No. You got them all. They stood together," he replied.

Bruno tapped on the shoulder of the youngling and winked at him. Flame raised his chest proudly and chuckled.

"Thank you for saving our children. We are so sorry we have to fight you. We know you dragons aren't evil. The Sorceress is," the pilot told them.

Gunnar nodded and asked, "Know anything about The Sorceress and why she forced you to fight us?"

"We don't know. They wanted to get the eggs we found appearing here, but they didn't get away with them," another one said.

"Our children," the adult dragons said at the same time.

"Yes. We will bring them to you. They didn't find it and didn't know we hid them," a third one told them.

The dragons followed him as they went to get the eggs and saved the children.

Chapter 42: A Hint Of Romance

Spyro yawned as he woke up from his nap. The youngling purple dragon stretched his limps as he sat down, "Feeling better," he scratched his cheek and saw his two dads looking at him.

"Sleep well?" Nestor asked.

Sparx flew by the side of his friend and landed on his horn, asking if anything disturbed him.

"Nothing. I just saw a few dragons head appearing in the pool and yelling together about gem taxes and then they were gone," he replied.

They knew it was when the other dragons gave a war cry.

Astor chuckled as he adjusted his hat, "That is a strange moment in your dream Spyro. Are you feeling better? Are you hurt?"

"Not really. The pain is gone," he replied.

"Sparx really helped you with this," the Carpenter commented as with a relieved smile.

"We should keep going then," Spyro told them. He gave a fist bump with his best friend and smiled.

The green dragon lightly paled for a few seconds at the thought of putting himself in danger. He couldn't say no as they had no way back, "As long as you stay with us. We are in this together. We are your dads and we have to watch over you."

Zoe giggled, "And you also have us to help you. My magic can help a little."

"Spyro," a voice suddenly appeared. The dragons saw a cheetah rushed towards them as he stopped near them. He panted as he put his hands on his knees, "You're… here. I-I… hold on a sec," he got back his breath, "I saw the thief who stole the eggs over there," he pointed at the direction, "She is preparing something, but I don't know what."

"Let's check this out," the purple dragon declared as he went towards the scene with Hunter. The dragonfly followed his best friend quickly.

The two dragons followed them on foot with Zoe behind them.

Elsewhere, Bianca was reading her spellbook while a piranha plant tried to bit her, but she was too far away from it. She searched for the rightful spell she had to use. She was still a little nervous about that magic with what happened to that Rhynocs. She turned the page and continued searching, "Where is it?" She turned another page before she grabbed her wand.

Behind a large rock the head of three dragons, a cheetah, a dragonfly and a fairy popped up. From where they were, it looked like the dragons were just one three-headed dragon with Spyro in the middle.

"What is she doing?" Astor adjusted his glasses.

"Some bad magic," the purple dragon grumbled.

"We don't know yet if it's bad magic, but there is a lot of chance she is preparing one… or practicing," Nestor replied as he gazed at the youngling who stood on his shoulders.

Hunter frowned and looked closely, "I thought she would have cast it already," he rested his head on the palm of his hands and let out a small smile.

"Spells can take time," Zoe replied as she carefully watched it.

Bianca grumbled as she found it, "There it is," she waved it and casted her spell.

The plant turned into an apple.

The witch gasped surprise by the result, "W-what? That wasn't supposed to happen. I… I use the wrong spell."

"Hum… she seems like she is practicing. Like an apprentice," Astor commented as he scratched his chin. He recognised a little bit of the apprentice behavior when Nestor tried to learn carpentry. The mauve dragon frowned as he watched her more carefully.

The apprentice witch took off her hood and revealed her long ears. She was a humanoid bunny.

For Hunter, she was a pretty one too, "Wasn't expecting that," his smile was a little larger, "She's cute."

The others gazed at him. The adults noticed he was getting a little lovey for her.

"She is a bad guy. It doesn't matter if she is cute. She's evil like The Sorceress. She stole my siblings for some evil things," Spyro grumbled as he glared at her.

"We still don't know the why," Nestor observed her more carefully.

Bianca casted her next spell and turned the apple into a bunny. It was a small pink and adorable normal bunny that gave a cute smile, "D-darn it."

The watchers chuckled quietly at the second failure. It was funny that a dangerous witch like her struggled to cast the right spell. Hunter wasn't and just watched her with a smile. He chuckled as his tail tapped the rock.

The humanoid bunny didn't hear the dragons chuckling and prepared to try her spell once again. She flipped a few pages and found it. This time, she let out a satisfied smile and prepared her spell once again. She waved her wand and casted her spell.

The bunny began to spasm. It then turned into a large bipedal pink bunny with large tooth and crazy eyes. It looked like a monster from a nightmare. It towered over Bianca who watched with satisfaction her spell working.

The monster turned towards her and growled loudly at her. She covered her face and realised she was in danger. She tried to cancel her spell, but her wand was slapped from her hand. She watched where it dropped and gazed at the monster once again.

It was about to eat her when she rolled on the side at the last second.

Hunter gasped when he realised, she was in deep trouble and might not be able to get out of it on her own, "She's in trouble Spyro."

"She's a bad guy. I don't see why we should help her. That monster was probably for me or you?" Spyro replied as he nodded negatively.

Sparx buzzed that it was wrong to just let anyone in trouble.

Nestor grumbled as he couldn't completely disagree with the youngling. Still, not helping her was the wrong thing to do and would be a terrible example for the child.

"If we don't help her, then we are as evil as them," Astor said as he adjusted his hat as a counterargument to the child.

The Carpenter nodded, "Besides-" he realised that Hunter was gone.

"Hunter?" Zoe asked.

"Hold on!" Hunter dashed and pushed Zoe on the side, before being tackled too.

"Hunter!" Spyro quickly jumped out of his cover and charged at the monster.

Bianca coughed a few times as she realised that the cheetah saved from becoming lunch to the monster bunny at the last second. She quickly searched for her book and her wand.

The mauve dragon had the book on his hand. He gazed at the witch and grunted, "You better turn that thing back to normal before it hurt anyone."

"I- I will," she replied.

The old dragon gazed right in the eyes of her own. He noticed that there wasn't any true malevolence in her eyes and wondered why she would side with The Sorceress. She didn't appear to have been forced to do this against her will. Maybe there was something else, "There," he offered it back to her.

Nestor lifted the monster in the air and grunted loudly before throwing it away.

Spyro tried to torch it, but it wasn't really efficient. He dodged at the last second and another time, avoiding to be stomp.

Bianca quickly rushed to her wand the moment she found it and grabbed it.

The monster jumped towards Hunter who was a little too slow to reach, "Ahhhh!" he covered his face as he had no time to escape it.

Nestor and Spyro rushed to the aid of the cheetah, but they wouldn't be there in time.

The witch turned towards it and quickly casted her spell on it. The monster turned back into a bunny and tried to stomp the head of Hunter. It just became comical to see.

The cheetah looked grumpy as he suddenly grabbed the bunny and threw it away, far away where it wouldn't be seen again. The dragons watched it disappeared in the distance, before turning back to him.

"You're okay?" Zoe asked, first by his side.

"A little embarrassing to just yell like that," he stood up and turned towards the humanoid bunny, "Are you okay? It almost got you."

Bianca gazed at the side, "Yeah. It almost got me. Anyway," she raised her wand, "You better leave this place. This is my final warning. The Sorceress won't let you live for long if you remain here. Leave right now and-" her wand was suddenly taken away from her hand.

"Nonono," Astor waved his cane near her face, "They are a few things I like to know Miss…"

"Bianca," she grumbled. She tried to take it back, but the dragon tail pushed her away.

Nestor came from behind and trapped her against him, "As he said, you won't leave right now."

"We caught the bad guy," the purple dragon said as he walked in front of her, "You won't do any evil anymore," he proudly raised his chest.

"Doing evil? You dragons are killing this realm," she whispered. She didn't have the anger to yell that out.

The ruler of the Artisan Dragons heard it well, "Killing this realm?"

Spyro rolled his eyes at the false accusations. That didn't made sense in his brain, "And that stealing my siblings is okay?" he grunted at her.

"You don't know what is going on here," she replied.

That didn't go well with the child.

Nestor gazed at the youngling, "Spyro. Stay calm."

Sparx agreed with the carpenter and told his friend to just chill out a little and wait until they knew more. They were ignorant of what was going on here.

"Why are you helping The Sorceress?" Astor asked.

Bianca realised she said a little too much already. The dragons wouldn't understand. Still, she needed a chance to escape. Those dragons weren't evil. None of them really hurt her yet and they saved her life. Mostly the cheetah for some reason she didn't understand, "Because she is taught me about magic."

The old dragon knew there was more to that.

"Of course, you are helping that evil Sorceress," the youngling quietly growled. He winced when he was wacked on the head by the mauve dragon.

She tried to reply about calling The Sorceress evil, but couldn't deny it. She gazed at the side.

"I know you are not evil," Hunter said as he approached her, "If you were, you wouldn't help the Rhynoc when you changed him or saved me from that bunny," he pointed where it disappeared, "You would just run away and let us with it."

"You're right," Nestor agreed.

Spyro gazed at his friend and his dad, uncertain what to say now. They were taking her side. She was evil.

Zoe went by his side and told him something important, "Spyro. The true is more complicated than you think."

The youngling nodded negatively at that. It was simple. They were good people and bad people. Dragons were good and the Rhynocs were bad. It was as simple as that. That female bunny was serving The Sorceress and was evil, "It's not that hard. They are evil. Kidnapping my siblings for something nefarious. You can't just say that."

Sparx told him that they can and they were right.

The purple dragon gazed at the side as Nestor told him, "Spyro. Zoe is right. You just don't know how the world is really working. Bianca had no reason to turn the monster back into an inoffensive bunny."

Spyro couldn't reply to that.

"I saved her and she saved me. She wouldn't do that if she was evil," Hunter said.

Bianca managed to escape from the green dragon and the moment she touched the ground, she immediately ran to the old dragon. She grabbed back her wand from Astor and back away. She turned around and gazed at them, "You're right Spyro. Stealing the Dragon Eggs is bad, but we have no choice. This is the only way to save the realm."

"You stole our eggs twelve years ago," Nestor frowned as he reminded her of that.

The humanoid bunny gazed at them in confusion, "W-what?"

The moment they saw that, the group realised that something was up. Sparx told his best friend that she wasn't lying.

The child gazed at the side as Bianca teleported away.

Hunter waved at her. He couldn't believe she saved him.

Spyro turned to them, "Dad. Y-you think she isn't evil? She is helping The Sorceress."

"Looks like we will have a lot to tell you Spyro," the leader of the Artisan Dragons replied, "But not now. The others are coming back," he pointed at the dragons returning to them.

AC: This is the end of this chapter. I hope you enjoyed it.

Next: Spyke Assault.

The dragons reunited together and went on their journey, but they encountered Spyke. Alas, Spyro had to fight the monster with Sgt Byrd.
