Gwen hadn't heard from Peter all night, and was growing concerned. She decided to call Peter, and find out what was going on.
"Hello? Hello, Aunt M-? Oh...it's only you, Gwen." Peter replied miserably into the phone.
"Only me? Thanks a lot, Mr. Parker." Gwen responded sharply, before digressing. "I hope I haven't interrupted anything- I just wanted to remind you about class today. You haven't-" Peter wasn't paying attention to her, instead delved into explaining about May's disappearance. "Peter, what? She- she's left? Oh, no, Peter- no!"
"I'm afraid it's true, Gwen...but you mustn't blame yourself. I guess... it's been coming for quite a while." he explained, making Gwen's heart pound with worry and guilt.
"But, Peter- Peter, it is my fault, we both know it is. I shouldn't have criticized her the way I did... I must have hurt her terribly..." The blonde expressed woefully, staring downwards.
"Hey, Gwen...don't go all guilty on me. I told you- it's been coming for a long time. Look, I'll talk to you later, okay?" and with that Peter hung up.
