Kate woke early the following morning. Yawning her mind was still on the previous evening and everything that had happened. Rolling over she nestled in against Mikes chest

"Morning" he smiled running his fingers down her back.

"hey" she smiled "i didn't wake you did I?" she asked aware she had been tossing and turning all night.

"no I was awake anyway" he said softly. He too had a disturbed night worrying about her worrying about everything that had happened. "i was just thinking..."

"about this" she cut him off picking up the pregnancy test she had forgot to move the previous evening.

"yeah" he half smiled

"ditto" she whispered snuggling deeper in to his arms. "is it wrong that part of me wishes it was positive. Part of me does want another baby" she said trying not to let the tears fall. "then my mind reminds me of everything that happened with Chris, how I was after and I feel that I am being selfish."

"hey" he soothed pulling her closer "its not selfish. Its only human that you would feel like this." he said softly "and with everything that has happened its bound to play on your mind. And I wouldn't change any of what we have for anything"

Looking up in to his eyes she smiled "i love you" she whispered

Looking at the clock it was almost 6 am. "how about breakfast in bed?" Mike smiled teasing her In to a kiss

"sounds perfect" she smiled pulling him down towards the pillows

"one Flynn special coming right up" he smiled sliding from the bed

Leaning back against her pillows she sighed closing her eyes she wondered if she could get a little sleep in before mike came back up with breakfast

"Mommy" Nicole called nervously from the door

Looking up Kate smiled "hey what are you doing up so early" she asked softly. It was hard enough to get them up at 7 to get ready for school.

"I..." Nicole stammered

Shifting over towards the other side of the bed Kate lifted the sheets, patting the space next to her.

Smiling Nicole rushed over climbing under the covers next to Kate.

"Now then poppet what's wrong?" she asked

"i don't want you to be sick again"

"hey I am not going to get sick again. You don't need to worry about that" Kate said softly wrapping her arms around her daughter running her fingers through her hair. She had missed this Nicole always would sneak in for a snuggle as a child but as she got older it became one of those things that she was too grown up for. "and your not too old for a snuggle" she smiled

"mom" Nicole moaned

"hey you always would sneak in for snuggles when you were little. Especially when daddy was away"

"Mum do we have to do the nostalgia train" Nicole moaned

"yes because your growing up and I miss my little girl" Kate sighed

Kate rested her chin on top of Nicoles head, when she felt the covers being pulled looking down, she saw grace crawling up the bed

"come on then munchkin" she sighed holding her other arm out.

Not wanting to be left out Chris also plodded in dragging his blanket behind him. Standing at the side of the bed he held his arms up to be pulled on to the bed.

"come on then Mr monkey" Kate sighed pulling him on to her lap.

"one Flynn special" Mike called as he waked in carrying a tray "oh..." he paused seeing all three of his offspring "any room for a little one?" he grinned putting the tray on the side

"you're not little daddy" grace called from her place determined not to be moved. "you have a big bottom" she shrugged

Kate hid her face trying not to laugh at how blunt her youngest daughter could be at times

"and what you laughing at" Mike smiled

"nothing" Kate tried to look innocent.

"i believe you, most wouldn't but..."

"hey I am being honest" she smiled

"okay" he grinned "right you three pancakes downstairs, let's let mummy eat her breakfast" he smiled handing her the tray as the kids all ran out.

"thanks" she half smiled

"and not forgetting the most important part of any breakfast" he said handing her a mug of coffee.

"perfect" she smiled taking a sip.

Downstairs they could hear squabbling between the three kids. It was just 7 and it had already begun and they had 2 weeks of all three of them being back home.

"i best go deal with that" Mike smiled

"thanks for breakfast" she smiled watching Mike head downstairs to deal with the kids

leaning back against her pillows she tried to tuck in to her breakfast Shaking her head as she heard another crash from downstairs, she smiled sliding from the bed she had best go help Mike with the madness that was their family. She would have loved another baby and maybe if things had turned out different after Watsons bay but then her family wouldn't be her family and she wouldn't change any of her children for the world
