Demon Edo and Demon Sora sat on a roof and admired the red sky above. Despite its dull and ominous look, they could not help but be entranced. In a strange way, that sky perfectly reflected the future which their master wanted to bring to their world. To think that there was a time when they actually opposed that. Now the mere notion of them standing against Demon Subaru seemed preposterous. Almost as preposterous as...

"Is it true? He actually let you see Subaru again?" asked Demon Sora.

"Yes, it was great. It's like we were young again, happy and without a care in the world!" Demon Edo explained, a large blissful smile on his face. "Every moment I spent in that meadow with him, I knew it was worth all the blood I've spilled ever since he brought us back. Trust me, you have to ask the master to let you see Suby as well!"

"I'm not sure about this. Look at us, this is unnatural, we were born as humans and he turned us into these... anomalies. I know we've sworn allegiance to him, but every time we start acting like rabid predatory animals and take innocent lives, I can't help but feel like a part of us is fading away..."

"This is your biggest problem, Sora. You need to stop feeling and start thinking for once! Demon Subaru-sama is letting us live again and he is also giving us the opportunity to be happy with our friend. Are the countless lives of random nobodies more important than your bond with Suby? Are they?!"

The clawed one hesitated for a few moments, then she opened her mouth to respond, "You forget that Demon Subaru is also the one who killed us. Yes, he claims he needs us to help him save our world from this 'Twilight Kingdom', but why would he need to reward us in order to obtain our help? Can't he just show us some proof of those youkai preparing to attack the Earth? Why must we take his words at face value?"

"Do I look like I care about that? As long as we can still be the chosen duelists, a full team, I would do anything he says!"

"It seems to me like you're the one acting on his feelings, Edo. Listen, if that were truly the case, why can't he reunite us with Rad, Tsugumi and Rita once again? We've seen their corpses in those bags, what is stopping him from giving them the same treatment he gave us?"

"I... don't know..."

"Exactly! I have a sneaking suspicion he is not being fully honest with us. Seeing how we pledged our allegiance to him, I think it's time we had a serious discussion with him."

"No, don't! You know how mad he can get, do you want to get yourself killed?"

"Of course not, dumbass, but I also don't want to keep on living in uncertainty! I need to know what his true intentions are and if he is actually willing to reunite us with the rest of our friends."

"I understand. But before you do, let me have another talk with Suby. Since he is currently sharing his body with Shishima, I'm sure I can get some answers from him."

"Alright, but if that fails, I will be straightforward with the master!"

Meanwhile at the desecrated church, the crowd of cultists ran out of the building, all armed and thirsty for bloodshed. Once they were left all alone, Shinobu walked to Keiichi and checked his laptop to see the updates on their website.

"I can't believe we've had this many clicks from all over the world!" the girl exclaimed, pleasantly surprised by the revelation.

"One hundred thousand, and they keep growing. It seems that we've risen in popularity since Sagakin disappeared off the face of the map," Keiichi remarked as he cleaned his glasses.

"Most likely we've been ratted out to the authorities by Hajime Shirayama and that fucking priestess. But no matter, this way it will be easier for our message to reach the world's pariahs. We will be condemned by the unenlightened masses, but the master has advised me that our day of reckoning is fast approaching."

"Oh? What will happen?"

"He will shed the human skin which currently limits him and then expand our rule upon the rest of the world. As such, the Spawns of Shishima will have to make preparations for our own extension."

"How will we do that, Shinobu?"

"It is time to stop viewing ourselves as a religious group, but as a mini-nation! Besides our brute force and spies, we will need to recruit doctors, cooks, farmers, scientists and artists among our ranks. They will have to wholeheartedly accept our message and pledge their allegiance and services to our collective benefit."

"But we thrive off of murder, that's how we serve Shishima. How will we be able to attract any of those people to our cause?"

"It's quite simple, my dear Keiichi. We simply have to rework our website and reword most of our messages. We need to portray what we are doing as a positive thing and also convince people of our reality's nihilistic truth. That way, once our master arises, they will have no choice but to bow down to him, for he will be the only meaning left for humanity!"

"I see... Well then, I better get to work." The nerd put his glasses back on and placed his hands on the keyboard. "Please stay and help me with the typing."

"Of course, listen carefully." Shinobu cleared her throat and began her speech.

Back in the mayor's office, Demon Subaru was sitting cross-legged with a hand above All Over The World's cards, which glowed with the colors of the rainbow. After a few minutes of meditation, he snapped back to reality and got up, turning to the mirror to greet his Shishima reflection, who casually asked, "Having trouble?"

"Yes. It seems that no matter how much I try to focus, in the end I can't fully synchronize with All Over The World," Demon Subaru complained. "This creature is almost like the universe: both harmonious and chaotic. Meanwhile, a being like me can never experience true harmony."

"I disagree on that notion. From what you told me, your time spent with Nekohana seemed to be very harmonious!"

"That's different and you know it!"

"Oh? How was it different?"

"It was a different time and place, I was much younger and more foolish."

"Explain to me how you were foolish."

"I actually believed I could empathize with her because we've both suffered terribly during our upbringings. I wanted to protect her and make sure that at least she would no longer endure any pain."

"You, the very daiyoukai who feeds off of physical and emotional pain, sought to protect another from that? This is very interesting!"

"No, it was foolish. That was a weakness, someone like me should never form bonds or care for anyone."

"Why not? Because you thrive from harming others? That doesn't mean you're not allowed to feel emotions or get closer to another person! How did you describe yourself and Nekohana again? Two of a kind?" Demon Subaru sighed and nodded. The reflection smiled and continued, "It must mean that at least back then you had something in common with her. You had formed a connection despite your insistence that you should never do such a thing."

"Yes, back then I believed that a great future awaited me and all I had to do was wait for my father to pass on the throne. Oh, how naive I was..."

"Since you brought that up, do you mind continuing the story then?"

"Might as well..."

The hooded one sat on the desk and began narrating once again.

Fukurokuju landed in the woods, reacquainting himself with the relaxing smell of beech. How long had it been since he had witnessed the creation of the vast forest which surrounded him? A millennia, an aeon? Or had it always existed since he and his kin had founded the Twilight Kingdom? He had seen so many events, accumulated more knowledge than any being in the spiritual world, he had lived through and helped make history. Time's passage had become but the blink of an eye to him. In one moment he found himself among the fallen angels condemned to an eternity of torture in Hell, in the next he was laying down the first laws in the Twilight Kingdom to ensure the foundation for their society, now he was all alone in the dark woods after having returned from a battle at Purgatory's border, and soon enough he would be visited by the one he called there to discuss an urgent matter. After so many years of war, it finally dawned upon him that his powers of processing information from existence as a whole were beginning to take a toll on his psyche. If he wanted to retain, no, better himself as the youkai of knowledge and wisdom, he had to slowly detach himself from those around. But could he fulfill such a task? He had responsibilities to uphold, he had forged relationships with the daiyoukai, especially with the royal family whom he had raised as his own children. How could he ever forsake those dear to him?

"You wanted to see me?" asked Shishima, who landed behind the owl and began dusting his fur.

"Yes," Fukurokuju replied shortly.

"Frankly, I'm surprised either of us managed to survive the violent desert storms. Why are these woods so far from the capital palace?"

"It is because we have erected our glorious lair in the very core of that inhospitable desert in order to ensure its safety from possible enemy attacks."

"Or isolate yourselves, if you ask me."

"An acute observation. Follow me, there is something I have to show you."

"Keh, lead the way."

The two delved deeper into the vast nature that lay ahead, waiting to be explored. Shishima looked in all directions to ensure their safety, occasionally catching glimpses of foreign eyes. While the lion was keeping his guard up, Fukurokuju did not seem to pay attention to them and focused solely on their journey, narrating on the way, "These woods expand over the southern and eastern branches of the Twilight Kingdom. Some say they are as old as time itself. As you have seen on my maps, several districts are located here, self-governed by different kinds of youkai. Should you ever encounter them and they would not recognize you, be sure to earn their trust by respecting their customs and culture."

The prince nodded. "That's a given."

"Good, at least you care more about our kin than your mother ever will." The owl pointed in the distance with one wing. "Pay attention, if you follow this path southward, you will reach a fork in the road. While it may seem innocuous at first, it is actually an illusion. If you pick none of the two pathways and keep walking forward, you will find yourself inside a cave."

"What's so special about a cave?"

"That is my home. Having in mind the recent developments in the senate, I decided that my time is better spent meditating in privacy."

"But that is preposterous, our kingdom needs you!"

"The commoners no longer care about my role and the upper class views me as an old rambling fool. The only ones who feel like they need me are you and your father." Silence broke between the two, Fukurokuju noticing the unease on Shishima's face, so he looked at him with a reassuring smile. "You know that my words are true, which is why you are always welcome to visit me whenever you need my advice." He then turned his attention beyond the trees on their left, from where the moon was rising. "We have arrived." With a wave from his wing, he parted the trees and revealed a small moonlit grove inside which a circular object of pale blue color was glowing brightly. They approached and saw that it was roughly their size.

"What is this…?" the prince asked, awed at the strange sight.

"A portal which leads to the mortal world."

"What?! That's impossible! How did it get here?"

"Although most of us would never admit, our worlds are connected. Human belief has played a great part in shaping us, and in return we also play a major role in their afterlife."

"I will not stand by and watch my kingdom be corrupted by human influence! Let's go back, I will call some soldiers and forcefully close this forsaken gateway."

"Wait, Shishima!" Fukuorkuju raised his voice to assert authority. "I insist that we do the opposite – let us leave this portal open and keep it as our secret. What strengthens the entire spirit world is large belief from mortals. If humans were to come in contact with our youkai, word would spread among them, as rumors, myths and religion. I believe that once this happens, we will be strong enough to overtake Purgatory and put a temporary end to our war of conquest."

"Nonsense, I refuse to believe that we require the aid of mortals to gain victory!" the prince spat back, denial and pride in his demeanor.

"Very well then, is there anything I can do to convince you to at least leave this portal alone?"

Shishima stopped and rubbed his chin pensively, trying to come up with a reason, any reason to follow through with his mentor's request. After centuries of education, Fukurokuju had hoped to open his young disciple's eyes to the greater picture. The reason for sharing the portal's secret was to have him understand that all beings served a purpose. Although he was an eager and fast learner, his sense of honor was not molded well and he held onto some prejudices. Ultimately, he still had to learn a few values before he would be worthy of succeeding his father.

"I agree to your terms, but on one condition," Shishima finally spoke, a devious smirk on his sharp face.

"Oh? What might that be?" Fukurokuju asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You once told me that each youkai must choose a domain of magic and master it in order to gain a role in our society. Therefore, I want you to teach me the magic of illusions and nightmares."

"Are you out of your mind, child?! That is forbidden art!"

"I know, your writings so eloquently stated that fact. But I have spent the past years reflecting on this topic. My father is naturally strong, my mother masters verbal persuasion, and I have been able to sense the emotions of others since birth. With this power under my control, I could truly put my gift to great use!"

Fukurokuju regarded him, suspicion in his piercing glare. The magic which the prince desired would help him overpower others without physical effort and subject them to great mental torment. He had seen youkai who mastered it, and those who did not grow insane from it still craved more. They desired to make their illusions come to life, thereby warping reality – something which only beings close to godhood were capable of. Usually he had to ensure that one was mentally stable before he even considered the possibility of teaching them such magic. But the Twilight Kingdom's army was on the verge of ending the war, victory was almost in their grasp, he could not let that chance go to waste. Focusing his eyes on Shishima's face, he saw his future. The young one would use his power to torment all the beings who had beaten him in the Coliseum. For sure it was petty act of revenge, but it did not harm their society's future on the long run. Most importantly, there were no signs of insanity, meaning that he would probably learn to prevent power from consuming him.

"I will personally deliver the scrolls in the morning," the owl finally responded. "But I advise you to be highly cautious."

The prince crossed his arms in satisfaction. "We have a deal."

A week had passed since Shishima acquired the writings from Fukurokuju. He allocated a great part of his time to studying them in his room, opting to skip his royal duties and daily orgies. Nekohana was intrigued by his morning readings, for she was knowledgeable of influencing emotions, albeit in her case she relied on her plants and art. Written on those papers were the secrets to unlocking one's mind, knowing one's inner fears and desires, then projecting them in front of the victim. Though a fascinating read, she wondered if Shishima was capable of pulling such feats. And if he were, how would their home benefit from an illusionist king?

Upon memorizing everything he required, the prince was quick to put the knowledge to practice. His first targets were two soldiers who guarded the prison gates and had just entered their night shift. He had sensed their distress, most likely they both had a busy day and were not in the mood for their duty. Giggling to himself, the lion closed his eyes and focused on their minds. Since they were low class youkai, they lacked the mental wards which would have made his job much more difficult. Once he was sure that his spell had worked, he appeared before them, disguised as…

"General Rufu, sir!" one of the guards saluted.

"Good evening." The wolf nodded back at them. "I see you are early on duty."

"We had our shift half an hour ago," the other explained. "What brings you here, sir?"

"The king has sent me here with an important task. I have to interrogate some prisoners whom he suspects as traitors," Rufu explained in his typically formal demeanor.

"Of course, general!" the first exclaimed and was quick to unlock the gates. "Please, proceed!"

"Thank you. Listen, no matter how loud their screams are, you are not to step in. Understood?"

"Sir, yes sir!" both saluted once more.

The military head went inside the dungeons which were dimly lit by pairs of torches hung on brick walls. Once the gates were locked behind him, a smirk grew on his face as Shishima took off the disguise. Behind those bars were a multitude of criminals, ranging from giant feral worms to Cyclopes, each sentenced for either being deemed too dangerous or for attempting to seize power. If they were smart, they would have done things more subtly, but in the end brute force could only get one so far. The prince cast a glare at them all, hate and resentment boiling inside for those decades of torture which he had endured at the hands of each prisoner. Their minds were a collective of primitive thoughts, nothing brighter than the desire to kill and eat. Still, even they had fears, and soon said fears manifested in each prison cell as a Purgatory angel, tall and bright, judging and remorseless, spears in their hands.

Shishima relished in their agony. Though they did not actually suffer physically, their minds told them otherwise. They all crawled on the floor as the sensations of being burned by the cleansing Purgatory fire tormented their psyche. After having been dominated by each of them, he finally got sweet revenge. Now he was the one who had power, he had put them all in their place, and he would make sure that nobody would treat him like a weakling ever again.

Later that night, he went to the usual meeting spot in the gardens. He found Nekohana on her knees, picking flowers from the grass and sorting them on a sheet, not a care in the world. If she knew what he had done, would she have viewed him differently? Given their demonic nature, such acts of sadism would not have been shocking to anyone. But never once did he see her bear grudge or wish harm to anyone else. She once told him that her late mother taught her how to hunt, but she only did so out of need for survival, never out of malice. How could that be? She had also suffered, like him, so why could she not find it in herself to hate the likes of her father and general Rufu?

"Ah, Shishima, you're here at last!" she greeted him with a warm smile. "Did you finish your studies? You have been so busy with those documents lately."

"Worry not, I am done with them for now," the prince replied and also sat down, his back against the soft wet grass.

"That means you can finally take a proper break and relax. As a matter of fact, I could use one myself." She folded the sheet carefully and set it aside, after which she joined him, both of them gazing at the night sky. "So, have you used the magic you just learned?"

"I have yet to find a proper… target."

"I see. In that case, maybe it will be useful in battle."

"Most certainly. But enough about me, how has your day been?"

"The same, more or less." Nekohana yawned and got closer to Shishima. "These plants need so much attention, for decades I have been tending to them as a sole gardener. For once I wouldn't mind if we left the palace and explored our surroundings."

"We…?" the lion whispered, incredulous to what he had just heard.

"Yes, I heard that there are other realms beyond our desolate desert. I would like nothing more than to share the excitement of discovery with you."

Shishima's heart began to beat faster, sweat fell through his fur, his cheeks reddened. The sincerity of her words matched her emotions. Her genuine demeanor greatly warmed his spirit. Although he did not want to admit it, she had grown on him a lot over the past weeks. He reached out a wing and used it to pull her even closer to him, their bodies almost locked in an embrace.

"Frankly, I would also like it," he smiled and leaned in.

Just as their lips were about to touch, a rustle in the grass startled them. Shishima roared and got on his fours, leather wings spread wide. Whoever had been snooping around on them was quick to run off. As he went in pursuit of the spy, he berated himself for being so careless. Bearing in mind that the upper class was becoming untrustworthy as each day passed, he should have expected that they would send someone to watch over him. For how long had this been happening? Had he kept his guard down long enough for all of his secrets to be exposed? It did not matter, for if even his relationship with Nekohana were to be revealed, his reputation would have been greatly compromised. The last thing he wanted was for his mother to lecture him on preserving the purity of their genes, or worse, taking her away from him. As the chase brought them deeper in the jungle, he finally sensed the other's mind. It was but a lowly sex slave tasked with spying on him, his body reeked with Koushishi's scent, and now Shishima could taste his fear. The wards of his mind were weak, meaning that there was no escape.

As the incubus was at but a few minutes distance from the palace, he saw that his entire surroundings had shifted to complete darkness. He gasped and looked around, trying to make out what had happened. All of a sudden, a hand burst out from beneath, catching his left foot in its grip. Giving out a cry of sheer terror, the demon of lust tried flying away, only to feel a pair of claws tear his back open, making him crash headfirst.

"You'll never get away from me, you never will be breaking free!" echoed a hissed voice from behind, oozing with sadistic amusement and malicious intent.

"Pl-please, I w-was just f-following orders…" he pathetically tried reasoning, only to feel his shoulders grabbed tight as he was dragged up by someone from behind.

He froze in utter fear as he saw countless pairs of eyes glowing in the darkness and countless hands reaching out towards his body. If only he could fight back against the pain and try escaping once more, but it was futile. All that was left for him was to scream as he felt the hands each grab a part of his body with greed, tearing him apart.

In reality, he had indeed been torn apart, but only by Shishima. The illusion of darkness simply halted his progress, while the nightmarish beings only served to further torment his mind as his physical body was disposed of in a most gruesome way. Staring at his bloodied claws and the spy's dissolving body, the prince could not help but feel excitement. Now he knew why slaying Purgatory angels had been such a dull task. They were too emotionless and willfully died for their duty, therefore he could not savor his victim's terror, nor its pathetic struggles to stay alive. But after knowing the pleasures which murder had to offer, he could do nothing but giggle. A few feet away, Nekohana watched him with great concern.

Loud knocks disturbed Demon Subaru once more. Annoyed, he waved his hand and opened the door, only to see Demon Edo step in, the same desperate look on his face as before.

"It's you again? What do you want now?"

"Master, I know you've just granted my request, but if it's not much, can I please see Suby again? I really need to speak with him!"

"You've already had a chance to tell him everything. Be gone, I will decide when the proper time will be for you two to be reunited again."

"But Demon Subaru-sama, I have overworked myself these past days!"

"And I have more important issues to deal with at the moment, Demon Edo. I can't be wasting precious time with your emotional nonsense."

"Just five minutes, I am not asking for more! After that I promise I will not bother you with this for a while!"

The hooded figure sighed loudly, his patience being put to the test. Still, if the winged one promised he would behave, there was no harm in granting his wish a second time. Demon Subaru fired red beams from his eyes right into Demon Edo's, a large smile of pure bliss appearing on the latter's face.

"Yes, that's right, just relax, old friend."

"Suby, I missed you so much..."

Demon Sora peeked from outside the door and was stunned by the revelation.

"I can't believe it..." she whispered to herself. "Our reunion with Subaru, our loyalty to Shishima, it was all a lie?" She cast a good look at her clawed hand upon which she had spilled so much innocent blood and a sudden feeling of disgust filled her, it made her stomach twist. "He turned us into monsters and knew how to keep us as such. We really had no choice from the beginning." Her hand clenched into a fist, the pointed claws stabbing her palm. "Not anymore!"

In the very next moment, Demon Sora charged into the office and punched Demon Subaru in the face, knocking him into the desk and causing his deck to scatter on the floor. As Demon Edo snapped out of his trance, she jumped on their former master, the two of them struggling to overpower each other.

"Sora, is that you?" the winged duelist asked as he rubbed his eyes, then he noticed some cards lying down. "What's this?" He leaned in and picked up one of them.

All of a sudden, the cards flew right back into Demon Subaru's jacket, after which he tossed Demon Sora's body on the floor, entrails hanging out of her opened belly.

"Foolish woman, you should've known better than to defy your superior!" he spat, after which he turned to the other. "I'm so sorry you had to witness that. Let her rest for a while. Speaking of which, you should rest too, old friend!" Once more he fired the red beams into his minion's eyes, but much to his surprise, this time around he did not go into trance. "What the...?" Immediately he reached his hand into his pocket and fetched All Over The World's cards, but something was wrong about them.

"Are you missing something..." Demon Edo revealed Bluenika with an angered look on his face. "...Shishima?" He rushed and punched the hooded one yet again, making him back down with shaking legs. "You're not him! The real Suby would've never used us as killing machines! Only now I've come to realize that Sora was right, you really can't be trusted. But know this, I'm done with harming innocent humans!"

"Ungrateful creatures, I've resurrected you, restored your youth and given you far greater power than any mortal could dream of, and this is how you repay me?!" Demon Subaru growled and took out his deck. "As easily as I've given you everything, so can I take it away."

"Over my dead body." His former servant also fetched his own deck. "This is your last party, you fucking manipulative prick!"

Two dueling tables arose from the floor, both duelists placing their cards on them and causing five shields to materialize above each, thus beginning their showdown.

"I summon Mypad, Start Dash." A blue humanoid wielding an iPad and sitting on a floating platform appeared by Demon Edo's side.

"I summon School Man and destroy him alongside Mypad." A mud creature possessing a school building appeared and immediately exploded, taking the other creature down with it.

"I cast Streaming Shaper." Demon Edo revealed the top four cards of his deck, which were Pakurio, Shuff, Eureka, All For One, Machine of D and Wild Speed, D2W, all of which went into his hand.

"I summon Time Tripper, Shadow of Stagnation." A fat ghost with two pairs of arms and a giant mouth on its belly appeared by Demon Subaru's side. "Now cards enter your mana zone tapped."

"Then I charge mana and end."

"Keh, I knew it. My turn, I summon Honenbe, Skeletal Guardian." The purple skull with four bat wings appeared, causing its owner to put the top three cards of his deck into the graveyard – Ninjariba, Dragon Edge, Hellborof, Supreme Dragon Edge and Rousseau Montes / Monte Scale Sign, the latter of which went back into his hand.

"I summon Pakurio, show me your hand!" A pink tricloptic Cyber Lord relaxing on a yellow armchair appeared next to the blue humanoid and forced the opponent to reveal his hand, which contained: Rousseau Montes / Monte Scale Sign, Bochiborof, Aloof Fighter and Mad Demon Excellency / Demon Hand. "I send Rousseau Montes to your shields and end."

"Merely a minor setback." Demon Subaru drew his next card and smiled with malicious glee. "It's time I showed you how to properly do discards – I summon Tigernitro, Explosive Devil!" A yellow tiger plushie wielding two red dynamites and donning blue pants and a chest belt made of dynamite appeared in the battle zone. "I end my turn and with Tigernitro's Mana Arms 5, you must choose a card in your hand to keep and discard the rest!"

Demon Edo gulped and unwillingly tossed Aqua Super Emeral, Shuff, Eureka, Wild Speed, D2W and Giga Speed, D2W2 into his graveyard. Then his turn began, so he quickly drew, charged mana and said, "I expand All For One, Machine of D." Their surroundings transformed into a blue laboratory with two test tubes and a floating wrench in the middle.

"I summon Bochiborof, Aloof Fighter." The purple wolf plushie with long hair appeared, causing the top three cards of his owner to go into the graveyard, those being Spiner, Shock Doctor, Deadzone, S-Rank Zombie and Bone Dance Charger, after which Demon Subaru returned Hellborof into his hand.

"I do nothing and end my turn. With All For One's effect, I destroy Pakurio and replace him with VV-8, Forbidden Machine!" The floating wrench crashed the pink fetus, its remains being sucked into one of the two test tubes, while a white cycloptic robot with motorcycle wheels for hands and feet appeared in the other tube. "With VV-8's effect I check the top five cards of my deck, take two in my hand and leave the rest on him as seals."

"Keh, you've brought your finisher too late! I summon Hellborof, Supreme Dragon Edge and bring out Welcome Hell, Supreme Devil King Palace!" The winged and horned purple wolf plushie appeared and caused BloodRayne, Start Dash and Black Psycho, Revenge to fall from the top of his owner's deck into his graveyard, after which he made the winged demonic palace descend from a hole in the ceiling. "Welcome Hell revives Ninjariban, who brings out Reddull, Dragon Soul Castle." A blue ninja plushie appeared alongside a red Japanese-styled castle with flaming swords sticking out of its edges. "Reddull gives Hellborof speed attacker, so I attack with him and Welcome Hell revives Black Psycho, Revenge on top of Honenbe!" The winged skull transformed into a dark purple jester demon wielding a sword and shield, forcing Demon Edo to discard Shuff, Eureka and Giga Speed, D2W2. "Hellborof, double break his shields! Black Psycho, double break his shields!"

Demon Edo took cover as the plushie's scythe and demon's sword slashed away four of his shields. When he checked the cards, he quickly revealed one of them and said, "Shield trigger, I cast Tune Again and return a seal to my hand. If it's a non-evolution Water Sonic Command, I can put it back into the battle zone. I bring out Wild Speed, D2W!" A white motorcycle with a head and a drill in the front appeared. "It's a Water Command so I take off another seal from VV-8! Then with its effect, I check the top 2 cards of my deck and put Shuff, Eureka into the battle zone. Shuff is also a Water Command, so I unseal VV-8, Forbidden Machine!" The glass container opened itself an the white cyclops robot with motorcycle wheels on its hands and feet emerged. "Forbidden Mechanism, VV-8 grants me an extra turn, meaning that on my next turn I will have two turns! Now with Shuff's effect I choose 5 and your Bochiborof won't be able to attack until the start of my next turn."

"Tigernitro, break his final shield!" Demon Subaru ordered and the tiger plushie tossed a dynamite which exploded on the remaining opposing shield.

"Shield trigger, I summon The Clock, Ragnarok and end your turn!" A humanoid with spiky blue hair and two golden clock arms sticking out of his chest appeared and ended the turn then and there. "And now it's my turn, I summon another Shuff, Eureka and choose 7. Do you remember our last duel on the beach, Shishima?"

"You mean the one where I humiliated you and put an end to your worthless human life? How could I forget?"

"This time around I will correct that mistake – I attack with my first Shuff and choose 5, then S-Rank Invasion "Space", I evolve him into Adamski, S-Rank Space!" The suited robot transformed into another robot made out of three flying saucers piloted by little green aliens. "Adamski, double break his shields! But instead of breaking shields, he will put the top two cards of your deck into the graveyard for each shield that he would break."

"Basically you'll mill four cards from my deck per attack..." Demon Subaru remarked, growing increasingly nervous.

"Adamski, mill four cards! Also, since I have a D2 Field in the battle zone, Wild Speed gives the Command race to all of my Water creatures! I attack with The Clock and S-Rank Invasion "Space", I move Adamski onto him, mill four more cards! VV-8, attack and I swap Adamski onto him, mill four more! Now you are down to merely three cards in your deck, how does the taste of despair feel, asshole?"

"No, this wasn't supposed to happen, I can't fall here!" the hooded one growled in frustration.

"This is for everything you've done to me, all of my friends and poor Hajime and his friends – I attack with Wild Speed and swap Adamski onto him, finish his deck!" the winged one ordered and with one last blue beam, his former master was left with an empty deck.

Before they knew it, Demon Subaru disappeared in an explosion. Once the smoke cleared and creatures disappeared, the match had ended. It was over, he had finally done it, Demon Edo managed to defeat the evil who ruined everyone's lives. He sighed with relief and collapsed on his knees right next to Demon Sora's body. It was a pity that her life had to be sacrificed on the line, if he would have been wiser to her words, perhaps they would have both stood together in triumph. His only solace lay in the fact that she was probably reunited with the rest of their friends in the afterlife. As such, all he could do was cry, tears of blood streaming down his pale cheeks. He mourned the chosen duelists and the lives they had abruptly lost, as well as all the innocent citizens of Sagakin who had been sacrificed for nothing on the altar of Shishima's ego.

A sudden excruciating pain filled his body as a pair of horns emerged from his chest. A dreadful hissed voice spoke from behind, "Did you think I would allow myself to lose here and now, against you of all people?" Before he could comprehend what was happening, a strange black smoke came out of his mouth. The last words he heard were:

"This is the price of betrayal, Edo Kanda."

Demon Edo's wings fell off of his back, his skin rotted once again, his rich brown hair fell off of his scalp and his skull was severed in half, the upper part falling on the floor. Demon Subaru shoved the withered corpse aside and dusted his black jacket. To think that his essence had been wasted on those two traitors! Perhaps the experiment of demonizing his former enemies had been a failure, because in the end, despite the corruption, he still had to deceive them into serving him. As such, he picked up Edo's corpse and put it in the same bag in which he held Rad's. He would have Bochiborof burn them later. Tsugumi's and Rita's dead bodies were still of use, considering their grandsons who would sooner or later cross paths with him again. As for Sora, he still had some plans which required her. Picking up the part of All Over The World which Edo had snatched, he waved his hand above the disemboweled body and healed it. Before bringing Demon Sora back to life, he made sure to erase her memories of their last encounter.
