And here it is, *starts crying* the final chapter. These 50 days really were fun. (If anyone gets that reference they have my eternal respect)
It's been a good journey with you all, and- Nah what am I saying, the sequel will probably be up in a few days lmfao.
Also, I want to know. I completely made Alex's character up, didn't base him off of anyone, so did I do a good job? What I mean to say is, do you guys actually like him as a character or is he just an extra?
Messiis10: Sorry I'm only seeing this now. Percy and Alex are still aging normally, don't worry. At least, they are for now...
GeneralKenobi32BBY: DKay37 is right. When a rat gets cornered, that's when they are the most dangerous, cos since they're desperate, they'll lash out wit everything they've got. Also, great name to honour a great man.
DKay37: Yeah, I've never been a huge Orion fan either. He's a piece of s***. But yeah, glad to see you're still enjoying the book!
TheMeister7: Yeah, I love the dogs. My friend, Grace, has two dogs, Oscar and Sadie. She's one of the most enthusiastic abou my writing, so all of them got in lmao
Anyway, enjoy!
Orion tensed, and suddenly lashed out, sending dozens upon dozens of arrows at the three powerful beings facing him. But he knew there was only a small chance of him getting out of this situation.
Percy, Apollo and Zeus weaved and deflected arrows easily, even smirking at each other from time to time. Zeus grinning with him, instead of maliciously at him, was a sight that Percy never thought he would get to see.
Then, the trio decided to end it. It was time to put down the troublemaking giant. They suddenly started all charging towards Orion, who shot even faster in his fear. "Why? I didn't even attack Olympus yet!" He shouted at the two gods.
Apollo and Zeus grinned. Percy joined in as well, and each knew what they all were thinking.
"NOBODY MESSES WITH ARTEMIS!" They yelled in unison as they charged.
Artemis, standing uncertainly beside a tree at the edge of the clearing, smiled tearfully. "Percy still cares for me..."
Alex, faintly hearing what she said, turned glared at her from his position on the ground. Breaking Percy's trust like that, and then tearfully running after his brother. Hadn't she done enough?
Orion kept shooting arrows, until Zeus shot a lightning bolt at his quiver, knocking it clean off and to the ground, starting to light on fire.
The giant picked it up and went to slap the flame out, but suddenly the flame exploded to cover the whole quiver, burning him and sending him flying backwards. Looking in shock at his blazing piece of equipment, everyone saw an eight year old faintly appear and shake her head at the giant, tutting, before disappearing and making the flames glow brightly and burn the quiver until it was just a few bits of charcoal, metal bars and all of the arrowheads.
Then, some of the specially modified arrowheads exploded, incinerating everything left. Orion stared in shock, and then raised his bow like a staff. He'd rather run, but it was probably scarier to have the strikes coming from behind him than in front of him, where he could see them.
Yeah, this giant was a coward.
Zeus smirked. "You would much rather be running right now, wouldn't you?" He asked, and Percy laughed.
Orion shook his head slowly. "No... No I wouldn't."
Apollo joined the others laughing. "That was a lie, idiot," He smiled. "God of truth, at your service."
Orion snarled in rage, and leapt towards Apollo. The sun god stepped back, his own now materialising in his hands again, and let loose ten shafts of pointed sunlight in two seconds, each of them hitting their mark. Orion was stopped midair, and he dropped to the ground, the projectiles sticking out of most of his major joints.
Zeus then hit him in the face with his master bolt like a baseball bat, causing a crack of thunder and lightning right in the unfortunate giant's face. Orion was blasted backwards, flying until he landed quite a distance away, skidding to a stop next to Alex.
"Please... Help..." He groaned, stretching out a hand towards his younger half-brother.
Alex snickered at the giant's predicament. "Sure, if you go back in time and stop yourself from attempting to rape Celyn." He said.
Orion's face scrunched up. "But... But that's impossible!" He yelled.
"And so is the idea of me ever helping you." Alex laughed. "Actually, fine. You want a bite to eat?"
Orion looked up. Might as well, he'd die soon anyway. "Please."
"THEN TASTE MY TRIDENT, PRICK!" Alex yelled, jumping up and smashing the giant in the face. Orion flew back to the original trio he'd been fighting, who all cracked up with laughter and picked him up again.
Artemis hesitantly walked over to Alex. If she wanted to talk to Percy again, she might as well start with his brother, who she'd also alienated, and who also wasn't currently beating someone up. "That was a...very nice hit." She said.
Alex ignored the goddess.
She sighed and sat next to him. "Alex. I'm sorry, okay? Could you please help me try to convince Percy of that?"
Alex got up and shook his head. "Convince him yourself." He said quietly, walking away. Artemis would usually kill boys for having even half of that attitude towards her, but now, when the situation involved Percy, she suddenly understood that she'd brought this upon herself.
Meanwhile, the demigod that was occupying her thoughts was currently destroying Orion. He took a step back, and Apollo and Zeus gave Orion mighty strikes with their chosen attacks, Zeus with a huge lightning bolt and Apollo calling a concentrated ray of sunlight down from the sky.
Fried and burned, Orion staggered back, then fell to his knees. Since both demigod and god had worked together to take him down, the final blow could be struck by either. But Zeus and Apollo stepped back, leaving Percy to deal the killing blow.
Percy stepped up, raising his trident and drawing Riptide. Suddenly, he spun and knocked away a bolt of moonlight that had been heading straight for Orion's head. He glared at the direction it had come from.
"Back off, Milady. He's mine."
"Please, Percy. Let me apologize for what I did by killing him." Artemis pleaded. Apollo and Zeus stepped back even further. At this rate, Artemis would get angry. And no matter how much of a cool guy Percy was, noone wanted Artemis' anger directed at them.
Percy took a step towards her, then noticed a burned, beaten and fried Orion trying to crawl away, and stepped on top of the giant. "No. You won't do that. You'll go back to your hunters and never approach me again."
Percy, please!"
"No. You know how many times I tried to convince you? Yet you always listened to this idiot. Nah, you can go." Percy said coldly, half turning away again.
Artemis leapt forward and latched onto his shoulder. Apollo and Zeus in the back, with their millennia of experience in womanising, winced. "The clingy approach. Never works."
Artemis glared at them, making them flinch, and turned back to Percy. "Percy, you've got to forgive me! I made a mistake, that's all!" She said, looking up at him.
Percy grimaced. "And it's your last mistake in this relationship. We're over, Artemis. Not that you'll really notice much difference seeing as you spent more time with Orion than me anyway."
Although, Alex and Apollo could pick up on the small tremors that were beginning to enter Percy's voice and understood immediately. Percy really didn't want to do this, but he was cutting her off to limit any damage from his fatal flaw, and prevent further betrayals from the goddess.
She can't betray you if she's not in the position to, after all.
Apollo saw Artemis reach up to try and pull Percy's head towards her own, and finally intervened. "No, Artemis. Maybe try again later," he said quietly, running forwards and leading her away.
Artemis suddenly flashed out, looking like she was holding back tears. Zeus spun on Percy.
"Perseus, yes she was in the wrong, but that's still my daughter!" He yelled at the demigod. Percy sighed.
"I'm sorry."
And with those two words, all of Zeus' anger dissipated. If Percy was respectfully apologising to him, the boy must be seriously messed up emotionally.
Suddenly, Orion pushed to his feet and started staggering slowly towards the treeline. And Percy broke.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" He roared furiously, and hurled his trident. It embedded itself into the back of Orion's neck, and Percy made it turn around and hover, facing Orion towards him.
He walked slowly towards the giant, swinging Riptide back and forth. Zeus watched in shock, this being the first time he had seen one of Percy's dark moods. Apollo knew about them since Alex had told him, but he wasn't any less shocked by the look on the demigod's face.
Orion started stuttering. "No! P- Please!"
"Go and beg for mercy in Tartarus. Hope I never see you again." Percy said darkly, and swung Riptide.
Orion's head bounced and rolled, before it and his body dissolved into sea foam, like it had when Reyna killed him. But since there was no sea around this time, the foam just sat pathetically on the ground before slowly evaporating.
Orion was dead.
Percy dropped to his knees. "Now what do I do." He groaned. "Got no purpose any more, because I'm damn well not staying anywhere near her, so I can't guard the hunt. Sorry, Apollo."
Apollo and Zeus, who had been mind messaging each other, stepped forward. "Well, Perseus, I have a proposal for that." Zeus said, smiling at what he thought could actually become his favourite nephew if they forgot everything that had happened between them in the past.
"And what's your proposal?" Percy asked. Alex, who had joined them, looked at Zeus inquisitively as well.
"Well, gather your things and meet us on Olympus and we'll tell you." Apollo grinned, and the two gods teleported out in bolts of light and lightning.
Alex grinned. "Well, looks like we're on our own, again. Race you?"
Percy gave him a small smile in reply. "You're on, bro." He said quietly, but with a little of his usual competitiveness still there.
And the two sons of Poseidon set off, sprinting into the next phase of their demigod journey.
