Just as the sun rose over the horizon, Ash and Bea walked up to Ultima's cabin. "Here is the flower you are looking for." Ultima said, handing them each a picture. "The next ferry for Three Island leaves in 15 minutes. After that, it'll be another hour until the next one." Ultima could barely finish before Ash and Bea were off.
"You need to make it back today!" Ultima shouted after the two trainers.
"What no flying?" Bea asked. "Last I checked, Chesnaught can't fly." Ash responded. "So that's how this is gonna go." Bea said surprised Ash wasn't using flight to his advantage.
Half an hour after leaving they arrived on Three Island. "Charizard scout ahead, I'll meet up outside of town!" Ash said, running off the boat. "I thought you said no flying!" Bea shouted, chasing after him. "Hey I'm still on foot." Ash said with a laugh.
"Wanna have another bet?" Goh asked from Ultima's cabin. "Do you enjoy losing your money?" Chloe asked. "Hear me out. Double or nothing. Ash will come in on Charizard winning this whole thing." Goh offered. "Fine, I'll agree, Ash'll come in on Charizard, but Bea will end up winning." Chloe said shaking his hand. "So little faith in him?" Goh taunted. "No, but I feel that on foot Bea is faster long term." Chloe said calmly. "Wait that pretty little girl with the Charizard is a boy?" Ultima said very confused.
"You're fast, but I'm still going to win." Bea said mid breath. They were climbing up a sheer cliff face, neither having used their Pokémon to progress. Both reached the top, and collapsed, catching their breath. "Here." Ash said, handing Bea a water bottle. "Why are you so nice? We're competing, and yet you're keeping it as even as possible, you could've been halfway back by now." Bea said, having gulped down her water. "The best part about battles is the challenge, not the victory. If I didn't have fun doing it, the end would feel hollow no matter how it turned out." Ash said. "You know, we really don't have to race until we find the flower." Bea offered. "I like that idea." Ash said helping her up.
"There it is, Berry Woods." Ash said, looking at the glooming forest in front of them. "No point staying out here." Bea said heading in.
"Something in here doesn't feel right." Ash said looking around. They had been walking for a bit, but it felt like something strange was watching them. "So you feel it too." Bea said, on guard. "Pokemon out?" Ash asked. "Good idea." Bea said, sending out Chesnaught.
"There it is!" Bea said excited. In a clearing a single purple flower growing out of a tree stump. "It's mine." Bea said running for it. Suddenly Ash heard them. "Bea don't! It's a trap!" Ash yelled out. But it was too late. "Hypno!" A heard of Hypno jumping out from the bushes, lifting Bea into the air.
"Charizard use Dragon Pulse!" Ash called out.
The attack hit a couple of the Hypno, but also brought their attention to Ash. "Hyppp-no." One said getting in front of him and Charizard as everything faded to black.
Ash awoke, tied up. "Ash are you awake?" Bea asked. "Yeah, what happened?" Ash asked his eyes adjusting to the darkness. "Hypnosis, I don't know where we are, and I can't see either of our Pokémon." Bea said worried. "These Hypno are surprisingly efficient." Ash said a bit amazed. "Look, not a lot of people know about this, but I have a gift, I can see auras." Ash whispered. "I'm not great at it, but if what Ultima said about our bonds with our Pokémon is true, maybe I can sense where Charizard is." Ash said keeping his voice down. "If you think it'll work, I'm willing to try it." Bea said, trusting Ash.
"Come on Charizard!" Ash said, closing his eyes tightly focusing on their memories. "And then he saw them, they were trapped by Hypno's but they were in the cave. "Come on, I think I know where they are." Ash said standing up. He felt the cold rocks on his feet. "What happened to my shoes?" Ash asked. "I can't believe it took you this long to notice, come on you'll see soon enough." Bea said, following Ash carefully. Once they were in a bit more light, Ash saw that he and Bea were in matching grass skirts and tops. Both were revealing, and neither seemed right. "Okay so they're also a bit perverted." Ash noted. "What happened to our stuff." He whispered sneaking carefully. "No clue, hopefully it's with our Pokémon." Bea said quietly.
"In here." Ash said pointing to a room. "Okay, twenty of them, and two of us. What's the plan?" Bea asked. "Like Ultima said, you're rough and powerful." Ash said. "And you have a fiery passion." Bea finished. "Just avoid their coins, and we should be fine." Ash said. "On three. One, two, three!" Ash shouted the last part running in. "Ahhhhhh!" Bea said running in after him. Ash kept moving around the Hypno, causing them to attack each other, as Bea went for strike after strike, knocking them down. "Our bags!" Ash said running over to them. "What good are those?" Bea asked. "This." Ash said holding up a Pokeball. "Go Pokeball!" He said throwing it at one of the remaining Hypno. "I figure they probably can't put each other to sleep, so now we have a wall to defend ourselves just in case." Ash said proudly. "Smart." Bea said waking up their Pokémon.
The few Hypno they encountered, they took out with ease. "Look up ahead! I think it's an exit!" Ash shouted. They had made it outside. "Down there! More flowers." Bea pointed out. "And the race is on!" Ash said, quickly releasing the Hypno back into the wild.
"No, no, no. We're too late!" Bea shouted. They had slept most of the day thanks to the Hypno, and the last boat for the day had just left. "Not yet, are you ready to fly?" Ash said getting on Charizard. "THIS IS AWESOME!" Bea screamed from Charizard's hands. The moon was high in the sky, but Charizard kept going. "There it is Ultima's cabin." Ash said. Pulling Charizard in for a landing at the bottom of the hill. The two immediately began to run up the hill side by side. They reached Ultima's porch at the same point. "Together?" Bea asked. "Together." Ash said linking their arms as they stepped onto the porch at the same time.
"Well, you proved me wrong. There's been only one other time that I've tested two trainers, and for both of them to win." Ultima's said smiling. "Follow me, I will train you in the ultimate moves." Ultima's said leading them around back.
"Alright Chesnaught let's try it. Use Frenzy Plant!" Large vines sprouted up surrounding Chesnaught, and destroying the training dummies.
"Don't let them have all the fun! Charizard use Blast Burn!" Fire spewed out from Charizard's mouth and tail burning everything in its path.
"Nice skirts." Goh sarcastically commented. "And we both can still take you down without Pokémon in these skirts." Ash threatened. "Chloe! You were right it was a bad idea!" Goh shouted as Ash and Bea chased him down the hill.
Back on Three Island, the Hypno Ash had released, stood there as it threw Ash's clothes into a fire. An eerie smile on its face as the flames rose up in front of it.
