RAW is WAR: 24/9/2001
One night after an Unforgiven Pay-Per-View no one will soon forget, RAW is WAR kicked off live from Columbus, Ohio, and while looking at a live shot of the parking lot, Jim Ross stated that everyone was awaiting the arrival of the former World Wrestling Federation Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin!
Fresh off a successful defense of the WCW Tag Team Championship at Unforgiven, the Undertaker and Kane teamed with Bradshaw of the APA to face Federation Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boyz and Test. Bradshaw wasted no time by attacking Test before he could get into the ring. Once Test recovered, he tagged in D-Von Dudley, who was met with a fall away slam.
Kane then proceeded to take apart the Alliance trio until a Test boot to the face nearly ended the match.
The Dudleys and Test worked over the Big Red Machine for the next five minutes until Kane caught Test in a powerslam and tagged in the Undertaker. A short time later, Bradshaw took out Bubba Ray Dudley with his Clothesline from Hell, which left D-Von prey for Taker's Last Ride and a win for the Federation trio!
Torrie Wilson was applying makeup when she heard a knock on a door. She thought it was Tajiri, but instead it was Stacy Keibler. Stacy asked her friend she was involved with Tajiri, who was not a member of the Alliance.
Torrie told Stacy it was nobody's business why she was involved with Tajiri, and that at least she had a man! Stacy - who said she likes her men tall, dark and handsome - insisted she can snap her fingers and have any man she wanted, and offered to find a man to fight Tajiri. Torrie gladly accepted, saying they don't call her man the Japanese Buzzsaw for nothing!
A live shot of the parking lot showed a limo pulling in. Paul Heyman was expecting Steve Austin, but instead, Christian, the new Intercontinental Champion, walked out. Christian instructed a parking attendant to protect him from his hordes of fans by walking him to the building, and then come back to the limo and get his bags.
Shane McMahon addressed the Alliance troops to tell him they could not have a night like Unforgiven, and that they should give Stone Cold a standing ovation when he arrives. Shane said Austin will get his rematch for the title.
Shane also said that two other people were screwed by Earl Hebner - he and Booker T - so tonight was going to be all about revenge.
Then an excited Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley entered and asked if everyone was excited about her birthday. She disagreed with her brother and said tonight was not about revenge, but about leadership by example.
The Billion Dollar Princess proclaimed that one man from the Alliance stood out as a leader at Unforgiven - Rob Van Dam - much to the dismay of Booker T. Steph said that she was going to give herself a birthday present - a WCW Title Match between The Rock and RVD! Booker again looked angry, but Shane said that Booker would challenge Kurt Angle and bring the Federation Championship back to the Alliance, which pumped up the five-time WCW Champion!
Tajiri and Torrie Wilson walked to the ring to await Stacy Keibler's choice of opponent, someone who was tall, dark and handsome: Tazz, accompanied by Stacy, who grabbed the mic to tell Torrie that "two out of three ain't bad!
Tazz went right to work on Tajiri's injured ribs in this rematch from SummerSlam. Tajiri counted with a back kick, handspring flying elbow and the Tarantula. After a roundhouse kick to Tazz's head, Stacy suddenly grabbed Tajiri and kissed him, which prompted Torrie to slap her in the face! While the two Alliance women quarreled outside, Tazz caught Tajiri in the Tazzmission to win the match, much to Stacy's delight!
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
'Oh, ah, ah, ah, ah! Get up, come on get down with the sickness!'
Down with the Sickness plays to a huge pop from the crowd as the Bladewolf walks out with the WWF Championship around his waist. He takes it off and raises it with one hand to a louder pop from the fans.
"And there he is, the man who brought the WWF title back to where it belongs." JR said.
"Oh give me a break." Heyman rolled his eyes.
Bladewolf places the title over his shoulder and heads down the ramp towards the ring, smirking as he finally has the world title for the third time in his career. Bladewolf enters the ring and raises the WWF Championship, showing it off before he grabs a microphone as his theme dies down.
"It feels really good to have this title again after so long." Bladewolf said as he looks at the title. "It feels really good to have stuck it to Austin and the Alliance by taking back what does not belong to them. I brought the world title back to where it rightfully belongs, back to a superstar of the World Wrestling Federation. THIS is what I came back for after two months off due to injury, and I got what i wanted. Although I would've liked to have won it at SummerSlam, last night was worth it all. Austin thought he was going to walk out with the title again but we saw that wasn't the case last night when I dropped him on his head. I look forward to holding this title and leading the WWF against the Alliance and putting them down for good." the crowd cheered in agreement. "Now I know there is a HUGE target painted on my back now, that the WCW/ECW Alliance is after my head for what I did to their precious leader. Well, I would like to issue a warning to Shane and Stephanie...get over it. I took what is mine and you're golden boy lost. Maybe you should've found someone much more better to betray the WWF. Had I been around for Invasion, Austin wouldn't have made it to the next day because I would've found him and put him through more suffering than ever before. Now, I want-"
Stone Cold's theme hits and out comes the former WWF champion to a mixed reaction. Austin heads down the ramp and rolls into the ring, straight up getting in Bladewolf's face. The crowd cheers as Austin's theme dies down, the two rivals eye to eye.
Austin snatches the microphone out of Bladewolf's hand. "What?" He said, only for Bladewolf to smack the microphone out his hands. Bladewolf uses his foot to pick the microphone up and bring it to his hand.
"Don't start with that. I know what you want, Austin...and you got it." Bladewolf said with a smirk. "You see, I know you want your rematch and I am going to give you it. You see, I am still itching for a fight and the idea of dropping you on your head again for the second night n a row is just too tempting to ignore. Let's see if you can win this title without help like you did at WrestleMania."
Austin grabs the microphone and brings it to his lips. "You're on, so let's get a damn referee out here. I don't care if we aren't in our wrestling gear or not."
Bladewolf drops the microphone and the two back up as a WCW referee runs down instead of a WWF referee, which makes Bladewolf and even Austin look suspicious before Austin shrugs it off and just takes off his shirt, leaving his jeans on.
Bladewolf takes his trench coat off and hands his title to someone at ringside as the WCW referee calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Before the two can fight, PSYCHO hits to a shocking pop from the fans.
"Wait a minute, don't tell me..." JR said.
The crowd pops as THE JACKAL WALKS OUT! THE JACKAL IS BACK!
"That's the Jackal!" Heyman shouted.
"We haven't seen Jackal since his defeat at WrestleMania earlier in the year." JR said. "It's been five long months and a lot has happened since Jackal was around. But what is he doing here?"
Jackal makes his way down the ramp. He was still the same as the last time everyone saw him. He wore a sleeveless shirt with the face of a Jackal on the front of it. He stared straight at Bladewolf then gave him the middle finger.
Bladewolf walks forward, mouthing off to him when he was turned around...AND HIT WITH THE STUNNER! AUSTIN HOOKS THE LEG! THE REFEREE DOES A QUICK FAST COUNT! AUSTIN IS CHAMPION AGAIN!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Austin's theme plays as the referee quickly slides Austin the title before going to run...BUT JACKAL FLOORS HIM! Jackal glares down at the referee.
"What the hell is going on here?!" JR demanded to know.
"I'll tell you what's going on, the Jackal has just joined the Alliance!" Heyman laughed.
Jackal enters the ring and stares down at Bladewolf before looking at Austin who was celebrating his win. Austin gets down from the turnbuckle and turns around...INTO A SUPERKICK!
"What the hell?!" Heyman shouted.
Jackal stares at Austin before he looks at the Bladewolf then leaves the ring and starts heading up the ramp.
Backstage
"Jackal! jackal!" Shane shouted as he and Stephanie caught up with the man who was about to get into his car when he stopped due to them shouting for him. "What was that?!"
Jackal stared at him.
"We paid you to come back and distract Bladewolf enough for Steve to win the title back, not to Superkick him!" Shane said. "I want to know if you are with this Alliance or-"
Jackal grabs him and pushes him against the car. "Let's get one thing straight. I don't work for you, your sister, or Vince. I do whatever the hell I want. You paid me to JUST distract Bladewolf and I did that so the contract there was fulfilled. As for Austin...that was just a statement that I am NOT with this Alliance...nor am I with the WWF. I don't care about whatever family issues you have with daddy, you get in my way...I will cripple you and there won't be an Alliance. What I went through at WresteMania will be nothing compared to what i will do to you and your sister if you piss me off. The only thing I want right now...is the Bladewolf this Thursday Night on SmackDown."
He throws Shane over the hood of another car, gets into his own and leaves as Stephanie tends to her brother.
And so the Jackal returns and costs Bladewolf his WWF Championship. I know Bladewolf's three reigns as WWF Champion have been shit really, but they will get better.
