I'll be honest, out of all the Seven Deadly Sins in the Evillious Chronicles, The Tailor of Enbizaka is my favorite. Disclaimer: I don't own Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Danganronpa, or the Evillious Chronicles.

Jojolion Chapter 43: Envy of Kayo

Kayo Sudo was once a great tailor in Edo, Japan, Edo being modern-day Tokyo. She was the very model of an honorable woman of her time in the early 18th Century, with a loving husband and newborn son. But her world was destroyed when a terrible fire hit her small hamlet in AD 1718, done in protest of the shogunate. Luckily she was able to escape with her baby, and yes unlike in the story her child did survive, but her husband wasn't so lucky. So broken without her husband was Kayo that she started having visual hallucinations, seeing men who looked similar as her own husband, though at first she was able to shake these visions off.

That was until she received two new pairs of scissors from a mysterious merchant named Invidia. And you guessed it, he was another of the sect looking for those who could power the Original Sin. And for the record, unlike in the story Kayo was never body-swapped with anyone, which made her light violet hair all the more remarkable, though most felt it only added to her beauty. Regardless, from the merchant Kayo obtained the Twin Blades of Levianta, twin pairs of scissors. One Eastern, one Western. The merchant said that any who pricks their fingers on the scissors will find what they seek most.

Ultimately Kayo had two things she sought most, for her husband to be by her side again, and to find the one who started the fire that killed him. She knew the man by sight, but after four years had yet to find him. She also knew he was still living with his own family. It made Kayo envious to know the murderer of her husband still had his own family fully intact and blissfully unaware of his evil. And this meant when she pricked her finger as instructed, the Stand she got could not fully awaken. Called Tailor Swift, the Stand could let her obtain whatever she wanted from whoever she struck with the blades of her scissors.

The power rush caused her hallucinations to get worse. She saw someone that looked like her husband, but was in fact the other man she was looking for, the one who started the fire that killed her real husband. Not understanding this, she saw green when she saw the man with his wife, thinking she was an illicit lover. Under the full moon, Kayo used her Stand to kill the poor, innocent woman, and then realized that her own body was re-sizing to fit the beautiful red kimono the woman wore. As she began to repair the damage to wear it herself, she saw the man again, this time with one of his daughters.

You can probably guess the story from here. Each time Kayo saw the man with another woman, really a member of his family, she would kill the poor girl under the light of a full moon. First the older daughter, from which she gained an emerald green obi, and then the younger daughter, from which she obtained a golden hairpin. But when she went to meet the man with her new ensemble, his first words, asking who she was, broke the hallucination. Seeing the man responsible for her husband's death in place of her husband, Kayo's vision went from green to red.

When she made her final kill, she sobbed at realizing she had killed three innocent women in her madness, and turned herself over to the authorities. The young lord, feeling sympathy, had Kayo placed in slumber before her execution, and chose not to display the corpse but rather had it buried in honor. Her son was adopted by the lord, and eventually grew and had children of his own. This would come into play later. And in case you're wondering, her husband really was dead in reality, no sudden escape via wings.

So far the foray into the depths of the metro was going smoothly. The only caveat was that each person made their way through the tests on their own, and could not share points. Kayo was annoyed at this, even more so when she found that one of the Hope's Peak teams had finally found her. "I really don't have time for this." "Better make time, sweetie," Hiroko said as she snubbed out her cigarette on a piece of floating rubble, "Because we have business with you." She quickly erected a concrete pillar to block Kayo's blades. "Can't copy me if you can't even hit me."

"Pardon me," Taichi said as he came in swinging a digital hammer, forcing Kayo to dodge out of the way. "Here's a bit of an enhancement!," Kazuichi said, "Carpenters!" His Stand temporarily took Hiroko and Taichi apart, putting them back together with a bit of a strength boost. "Nice!," Hiroko said, "Now to really bring the pain! The Second Son!" She coated her arm in dust and cinders, slamming her fist into Kayo's stomach. "Here," Hiyoko said, "Lemme cool you off! Cold As Ice!" The frigid environment created by Hiyoko's Stand made Kayo shiver.

She then found herself dodging blasts from both Sayaka and Leon, managing to block a metal shot using her unbreakable scissors. She then cried in out in shock when Rantaro bathed the area in light using Ra's power. "Let me finish the job!," Tsumugi called out, "Lady Gaga!" Donning her silk dress, Tsumugi shot out a bunch of strings, wrapping up Kayo like a fly in a spider's web. Kayo was too awestruck by Tsumugi's dress. "Where did you get such a beautiful dress?" "Oh, this is part of my Stand," Tsumugi clarified, "But I could easily make a replica. A lot of the costumes I use in cosplay are my own creations."

Kayo's eyes lit up. "You mean you're a skilled tailor, too!?" The next thing the group realized, Kayo was freed and talking about the subtle nuances of tailoring with Tsumugi. As she talked, Kayo could feel her natural kindness returning to her. Her heart had never felt lighter, though there was still a small spark of envy at hearing how skilled Tsumugi was. But that balance was what she needed, the shackle binding her coming loose and returning to Honami. "I was wondering how we were gonna solve this one," Hiroko noted.

"But it's probably for the best," Taichi noted, "After all, we never really wanted to hurt her, just find a way to help her understand where she went wrong." Hiroko gave a wink and wry grin. "I sometimes wonder why I gave up on you after we graduated." Taichi gave an embarrassed chuckled. "I honestly have no idea... But regardless, we still have two final Sin Stand users to deal with, yes? I hope the others have just as much good luck." "I wouldn't worry," Hiroko said, "Most of our heavy hitters are in the final three teams."

We never learn who Hiroko's husband, if she ever had one, was. And we never learn who Taichi's wife, he definitely had one, was. So for my story, the two had a brief relationship during high school, but split up and eventually married different partners, only for other factors to come in after their kids were born. Divorce or death, you decide. Anyway, here's the deal with Kayo's Stand.

Tailor Swift (Taylor Swift, American Singer)
User: Kayo Sudo
Ability: Identical to the Vessel of Sin that allowed it to manifest within Kayo, this is Stand is meant to copy powers from those Kayo can see, with multiple powers being psychically stitched together to give Kayo a suitable power-set. The Stand's blades never wear out, and can be used for physical combat. While Kayo can manifest her Stand for offense and mend abilities together, her overwhelming envy means she must strike a subject to copy their abilities. This is a terrible weakness because it puts Kayo in striking distance of a target capable of fighting back. If Kayo were to balance her envy with kindness, she would fully awaken her Stand. The stats below are for the Stand's true power.
Power: B
Speed: C
Range: C
Durability: A
Precision: B
Potential: B

Yeah, couldn't find a good song reference for Envy, so I decided to go with Kayo's other major attribute, her skill at tailoring.Read and review.
