The next day, the Doctor and Rose spent in the TARDIS and in all that time, not once did the Doctor ask Rose to kiss him. He came very close to that morning, though.

"Now that I've got all that laundry from mum, I gotta put it away." She had replied over tea that morning when he asked what she wanted to do for the day.

Of course, that was the responsible thing to do. Responsible and boring. The Doctor had stayed in the kitchen, thinking she'd come back in a few minutes, ready to go. That was twenty-four minutes ago. He was getting restless. Despite having been in this body a total of three maybe four days, he hadn't realized this form was the antsy type. Quite manic.

So, when twenty-four minutes turned to twenty-five with no sign of Rose, he went to her room.

As he turned the corner, he heard loud rock music coming through her door. He was going to knock, but with that volume, he doubted she would hear him. The music blasted from the boom box on her dresser top as he opened the door, and there was Rose. She was shaking her hips to the beat, trying to sing along while not knowing all the words and cramming a pair of jeans into her top drawer.

"I'm feeling devious, you're looking glamorous, let's get mischievous and polyamorous! Wine and women and wonderful vices! Welcome to the cult of Dionysus!" She sang along to the last chorus before the song ended with a hard guitar note.

"Nice singing." The Doctor said with a chuckle.

Rose looked over, startled. The next song began to play and she quickly paused it.

"Wotcha doin there, trying to give me a heart attack or somethin?" She chuckled back, but a bit more sheepishly.

"I've been waiting for you, but little did I know you were having your own fun. What song was that anyways? Something about wine and women..." He teased.

"It's from Shareen. A last-minute Christmas gift before I swan off again." She smiled and closed the drawer. "She's a big punk rocker, so she made me a CD of all her favorite songs. That one's newer, but it's my favorite."

"You're a punk? Honestly, never would've guessed with all the pink." He said, gesturing to their room. Her room. Well, hers mainly. He just slept there. Every night. Off track.

"Hush up." She laughed, pointing menacingly at him. "Sharee's my best mate, I had to get into it. Honestly, she's the real trouble maker. Punk to the core, much to her mum's dismay. She'd hope Shareen wouldn't be so similar to her. Anyways, it's got a good beat, fun to dance to."

"Ah, yes, you are very fond of dancing." He said, thinking of the Blitz and their dance in the TARDIS. "Play that song again?"

"Really?" She asked.

"Yeah. You got the moves, Rose Tyler? Show me your moves." He answered, quoting her words from that night.

She smiled at the nostalgia and clicked the back button. The song started a bit softer than the chorus, but still hard. She took his hands and pulled him into the room. Together they danced to the beat, laughing. The Doctor was worried that with the upbeat song, he wouldn't be able to keep up. He didn't even know if this body was any good at dancing. Rose, on the other hand, was bobbing her head and shaking her hips to the beat with ease.

For once, the Doctor decided to just stop thinking. He bounced to the song, moving his hips and arms in beat. He took her hand and spun her a few times, earning him a big laugh. She took his hands and the moved to the song together. The song was almost over, so the Doctor decided to be brave. He spun her once again, then pulled her close and dipped her, just like he had as another man dancing with her. When he pulled her up, there was a moment of silence. The CD was loading the next song, but neither of them were focused on that. They were more preoccupied with just how close they were. His arms were circled around her, hands splayed against her back. She was holding his biceps tightly. They were pressed right up against each other, chest to chest, breathing heavy after dancing so hard.

The next song began. They shared an embarrassed smile as the released each other reluctantly so that Rose could turn the boom box off.

"Still a good dancer." She commented.

She wasn't really embarrassed like he was, she had done far more than dance with her Doctor, but of course, it was still very new with him in this timeline. She had to remind herself to keep it slow. Just cos he looked like John didn't mean she could get too comfortable.

"I'm surprised myself." He said with glee. "I never know with new limbs."

"I don't think I could've ever gotten you to dance to that kinda song before." Rose thought aloud.

"I actually quite liked it." He admitted. "Gettin' the adrenaline pumping, lettin' go and all that." He bounced a little on his toes as he spoke.

"So, everything about you changes then." Rose mused, looking him up and down like she was inspecting him. He couldn't help the shiver that ran up his spine under her gaze. "Your taste, your body, even your voice changed."

"Yup, complete regeneration." He answered, trying to ignore the way her gaze made him feel and failing wonderfully.

"How comes you sounded like you was from the north?" She couldn't help but ask.

"Lots of planets have a north." He shrugged. She giggled.

"But now you're a Londoner?"

"I suppose, probably because of you." He said without thinking. Rose took this information into consideration.

"Wotcha mean cos of me?"

"Well..." he started, pulling his earlobe. "When I changed, I changed for you in a way. I wanted to make you most comfortable, so when I regenerated, I hoped to turn into someone you'd like."

Rose's heart swelled at his words. He'd never told her that, but suddenly it clicked. He saw her running around with all these pretty boys, so he turned into one that would catch her attention. The hair, the voice, the body; it was all to draw her in. He changed into someone she could love, assuming she wouldn't have loved the past him. That thought made the heart-swelling stop cold.

"You assume I didn't like you before." She said in realization.

"Did you see those ears?" He joked. She would've laughed if it weren't for the fact that it was coming from a place of self-deprecation.

"Doctor, I don't care wot you look like. In fact, to me, you were the most handsome man I'd ever seen." She admitted with ease.

His hearts dropped to his stomach as warmth spread to his ears. She thought he was handsome. Not just that, the most handsome. It almost floored him. He always thought he was too old for her. Well, being 900, he was, but he looked too old back then.

"Really?" He squeaked.

"Of course!" She giggled. "It wasn't just the cool leather jacket or the blue eyes though, it was who you were. Who you are."

He was ready to forgo asking and just kiss her on the spot right there. She was still close enough for him to swoop down and… but no. He had to be patient, and this was not the moment. He would know when the moment was right, he was sure of it. At least, he thought so.

After she was done, they spent the rest of the day in the TARDIS, watching movies in the media room and just enjoying each other's company. He didn't ask her to kiss him.

The next day, they went on a little outing to the Lunar Days market on the fourth moon of Capars; shopping around for trinkets and gadgets, enjoying the Festival of Starlight held on the moon every 3 cycles. They laughed and shopped and, surprisingly, didn't get into any trouble. Again, the Doctor didn't ask her to kiss him.

This went on for almost four weeks. It was on his mind every second he spent with one Rose Tyler, but never did he dare to ask. Rose knew he wouldn't have forgotten about her little remark, she knew all too well who he was. She worried, instead, that he was thinking about it far too much. That was the sort of man he was, an overthinker.

So, a month and a half went by without a single mention of kissing. Rose tried not to let her worry show too often, but she was the type to wear her heart on her sleeve. She couldn't help it, even now when such things could doom her.

That morning, the Doctor had told her that he was going to take her to Kegron Pluva. According to him, it had the maddest ecosystem in the universe. Nine moons, six of them orbiting the opposite to the other three, as well as a sun orbiting it. One year, the planet had 43 seasons. The water on Kegron Pluva was solid. He described the indigenous life as a kind of dog-plant-fungus thing, whose diet included a kind of metal plum. But, of course, they ended up instead on Aneth, and almost immediately imprisoned.

Well, the Doctor was thrown in prison. Rose was taken into the palace they had accidently landed right outside of. After the initial shock of their landing, the noble looking Anethan man had called for the guards. Bowing low to Rose, he took her hand, talking quickly of how they never thought she would come after what happened during the Dark Era and how he hoped she would be merciful. The Doctor called out for Rose as he was dragged away.

Let it be clear, this had not happened last time. Rose had absolutely no clue what was happening. The first time around, her and the Doctor had gone to Kegron Pluva. Maybe this meant that the time line had gotten longer. Was that possible?

She decided not to struggle, the Doctor was already being thrown in jail for just showing up but for some reason they wanted her for… something. She just had to make a clever plan to escape and find him. Of course, that would so much easier if the roles were reversed, he was the one with the fancy gadgets and big Time Lord brain. Easy or not, though, Rose knew she was clever enough to save them both.

She was escorted through the golden palace, taking notice of everything. It was like a mix of Pre-Revolutionary France and Ancient Greece inside, all grand marble and gold architecture. The palace was huge, with tall pillars surrounding the center garden. The light of the second sun shone directly into the palace sky light over that garden. The grass was a lush greenish blue color, probably natural on this planet, and all around the edge were giant pink and red flowers Rose had never seen before. In the center of the garden was a huge weeping willow, the leaves the same blue tinted green color as the grass. Sitting on the bench underneath the branches was another noble looking Anethan, a woman, and what looked like her hand maiden.

"Mother," The man said at Rose's side, bowing, "I bring a visitor."

The women looked over and were shocked silent.

"It's her." The hand maiden said weakly. She couldn't believe Rose was there and Rose had no idea why.

"My Goddess." The woman stood and bowed to Rose. "What an honor to finally meet you."
